We are seeking an experienced and energetic finance professional to join St Margaret’s House (SMH). As Finance Manager, you will work independently to lead SMH’s day-to-day financial operations including budgeting, financial reporting and compliance, while also providing strategic insights to guide the charity’s long-term financial planning. You will report directly to the Executive Director (Co-CEO).
You will join an ambitious, values-led organisation that has a newly appointed leadership team in place, a highly skilled, dynamic multi-disciplinary staff team, network of volunteers, all supported by a motivated and engaged Board of Trustees.
SMH delivers a broad range of activities. An arts and wellbeing programme is delivered by a team of freelance practitioners, a busy café staffed by kitchen and front of house teams, a thriving charity shop, and multiple properties that are let to other organisations that provide their own services that support our community. SMH’s Finance Manager will be responsible for financial processes across all these areas of the charity’s activity.
SMH is looking for someone with a strong background in finance, ideally within the charity or non-profit sector, who is passionate about making a difference.

The role sits within the People and OD team which has two distinct specialisms:
- Core HR, including Resourcing and Volunteer policy and practice
- Learning, OD and Engagement
The Learning, OD and Engagement team will have:
3 x Learning, OD and Engagement Partners
1 x Senior Learning Adviser
1 x Learning Adviser
The role will partner with Managers and Leaders, therefore, collaboration, influence and partnership with a variety of stakeholders is key.
How you will make a difference
The Learning, OD and Engagement Partners support the Associate Director of Learning, OD and Engagement (LODE) in informing, driving and supporting learning, OD and engagement across the charity, based on a rigorous analysis of needs and ongoing measurement of impact.
The post holder will work closely with the Associate Director, People and their team to ensure that the whole team offering is based on organisational needs.
Interviews for the role will be in 2 stages, with Stage 1 taking place between 27th and 29th January, and Stage 2 taking place on the 4th February.

You’ll have an active role providing LGBTQ+ affirmative support for LGBTQ+ children and young people.
This is an exciting job opportunity to join a dynamic and committed team in a front-line role to support and deliver the activities and services of elop’s LGBTQ+ Children & Young People’s Service.This role offers great opportunity to work innovatively and responsively to support the genuine needs of LGBTQ+ young people.
In this role you will have opportunity to design and deliver innovative youth group support programmes (12-15, 15-18 & 18-25 year olds) & other activities; provide LGBTQ+ affirmative support, guidance and mentoring on a one-to-one basis; work with our wider family work programme, support families with LGBTQ+ children and deliver work in schools to students & teaching staff. You will support the delivery of the youth reference group of young LGBTQ+ people (to support service evaluation and development) and support volunteer mentors.
You will be responsible for the direct delivery of elop’s LGBTQ+ Young Peoples Service, including promotion, & administration, along with the induction, support & supervision of volunteers and interns. You will work alongside the wider staff team to support elop’s work with LGBTQ+ young people and contribute to sustainable service development.
The delivery of group support and activities will take place in person, but some work will initially be remote before returning to full time in person working.
Full Time: 37 hours per week
There will be two regular evening/ week and occasional weekend working required.
You must be available to work Tuesday and Thursday evenings & once a month on a Sunday afternoon. There will be occasional other evenings / weekend working required.
