Overview of the International Chief Projects Officer

The International Chief Projects Officer (ICPO) will lead and oversee the Projects Department, and reports to the International Chief Executive Officer.

The ICPO will drive the strategic development, implementation and evaluation of Barnabas’ projects around the world. The ICPO will work closely with the International CEO, senior leadership team, and local project partners to identify opportunities, ensure effective and efficient resource allocation, and deliver impactful results that align with Barnabas’ mission to support persecuted and suffering Christians.

The ICPO will ensure that Barnabas’ projects are strategically aligned with the organisation’s goals, operationally effective, and financially sustainable, while maintaining the highest standards of accountability and impact measurement.

ABOUT THE ROLE

FINANCE MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION

Role Purpose

The Finance Manager will proactively plan, manage and oversee the financial strategy, operations, and compliance of our dynamic and growing organisation. The role contributes directly to the organisation’s strategic planning and has hands-on oversight of financial transactions, operations, compliance and reporting.  

As the Finance Manager, you will be a member of the Executive leadership team working closely with the CEO on matters of financial strategy and business development - contributing to strategic decisions and providing financial guidance.You’d also be supported by the Finance Manager Assistant and the Bookkeeper.

Main Objectives

• Provide leadership, in-depth knowledge and financial expertise to support the organisation’s strategy, business development and operations. 
• Manage the day-to-day financial operations including payroll, payments, controls and cash flow to ensure sound financial management and accuracy around all financial routines and procedures. Also ensure compliance and accurate reporting.
• Lead on and manage financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting - working closely with the CEO.
• Lead on enhancing procedural efficiencies and streamlining in finance operations.
• Prepare statutory and management accounts. Manage the annual financial audit and implement recommendations.
• Provide and manage sound financial reporting and conduct financial analysis and financial modelling for business development.
• Work with and manage the Finance Manager Assistant and Bookkeeper.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

The role works closely with the CEO and is assisted by the Assistant Finance Manager and the Bookkeeper.

Financial Planning

• Lead on financial planning, budgeting and forecasting.
• Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making, highlighting key trends, opportunities and risks. Also scenario planning and financial modelling for growth and sustainability.
• Provide sound financial advice to the CEO, Executive and Trustees also assisting with business planning and strategy and business development.

Financial Management

• Lead on and manage the annual financial audit, including preparation, responding to auditors queries and implementation of recommendations, effectively and in a timely manner. Also filling with the Charity Commission and Companies House.
• Lead on the day-to-day management of financial operations to ensure sound financial management and accuracy of all financial routines and procedures.
• Monitor performance of actuals in relation to budget, income generation targets, approved expenditure and in relation to forecast. Note, analyse and comment on variations and propose adjustments.  
• Prepare quarterly management accounts and reports for decision-making and planning.
•  Advise on and manage investments and cashflow.

Governance: Policies, procedures and financial controls

• Ensure compliance with all requirements and standards in respect to Insurance, Companies House, Charities Commission and HMRC.
• Proactively lead on process improvements as we grow. Includes writing, reviewing and updating finance procedures and policies, in collaboration with the CEO and Executive colleagues.
• Ensure governance documents are up to date. Including Trustees appointment and resignation records, conflict-of-interest forms, and relevant submissions to Companies House.
• Monitoring and mitigating financial risks while maintaining robust internal controls. Also manage credit control and ensure that payments are received on time.
• Ensure financial procedures, policies and reporting systems are updated as required and maintained thereafter.

Accounting

• Supervise and review accounting tasks and records processed by the bookkeeper and the Finance Manager.
• Ensure timely, up to date and accurate accounting practice including journal entries, accruals, phasing and reconciliation.
• Ensure accuracy of income and expenses allocation and coding, including deferred income and monthly reconciliations.
• Review and update coding structures and nominal coding, clearing accounts and reconciliations in collaboration with the CEO and finance colleagues.

Payments and Payroll

• Manage effectively payroll, tax and pension submissions, banking and associated procedures.   
• Ensure all payments are made, received and acknowledged in an accurate, compliant and timely manner.
• Maintain up to date records of financial calculations regarding payments and fees for tutors, assessors and other stakeholders.

Contracts Management

• Ensure that operational, building, insurance and supplier contracts are up to date and renew them as required. Includes utility bills, IT and telephone.
• Prepare and issue employee contracts (working with the CEO/HR).

Support service delivery

• Calculate and prepare courses fees and other financial information for reviews and to support decision-making
• Liaise with students to offer and manage payment plans
• Ensure financial queries by colleagues, collaborators, students and practitioners are dealt with effectively and in a timely manner.
• Support the integration of financial and operational systems.

People Management

• Supervise, manage and support the Finance Manager and Bookkeeper, ensuring and supporting high performance and wellbeing.
• Recruitment, induction and professional development of the finance team. Also ensuring team members understand and adhere to organisational policies and procedures.

ABOUT YOU

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Qualifications and experience  

• Qualified or part-qualified (final stage), for example ACA, ACMA, CIPFA, CIMA.
• Minimum 3 years relevant financial management experience working with a charity/not for profit.
• Good experience of sound accounting and financial management in the charity/not for profit sector. Good knowledge of charity accounting and the Charity SORP.
• Sound knowledge and experience of leading and managing the audit process.
• Thorough practical up-to-date understanding of management accounting principles and techniques.
• In-depth knowledge and experience with payroll and pension processes and management systems for accounting functions, including QuickBooks.
• Sound knowledge and experience providing monthly management accounts, year-end statutory accounts and financial reporting.
• Extensive experience of contributing to the strategic, organisational and financial planning processes and leading on budgeting and forecasting.

AMOSSHE The Student Services Organisation is looking for a new Head of Engagement and Operations. In this role you’ll support our Executive Director in leading AMOSSHE as a senior leader. You’ll be responsible for handling operational management, which includes acting as the Deputy Director for the organisation. You will play a key role driving social media growth with responsibility for developing and posting creative content and managing interactions across our social media platforms, ensuring that we remain consistent in terms of brand and tone. You will have an excellent understanding of and passion for social media (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X and LinkedIn), uses, trends and development.

You will provide marketing support across the Fundraising and Services team, including producing marketing/fundraising materials and literature, appeals and events collateral (services and fundraising related), case stories, PR activity, and supporting management of our photo / film libraries and brand.

You will be brilliantly organised, and comfortable working across a wider team, juggling multiple projects at a time. You will be willing to go the extra mile to help us reach new audiences and achieve our strategic aims.

Key responsibilities and duties:

• Responsible for the day-to-day output of our social media content across Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok and LinkedIn (we use Hootsuite). Scheduling, writing and producing content (including reels), responding to comments and messages etc.

• Leading on the development of our TikTok channel, delivering engaging content and plans to grow this platform in particular. Also mirroring for Instagram too.

• Managing our Linktree platform (Instagram) and exploring other suitable platforms and reporting for socials.

About the role

The Director of Operations will have wide-ranging responsibilities for the development, implementation and performance of all operational delivery projects and programmes of work. This is a senior role within our well-established charity, and we will expect you to play a proactive and productive role as a member of the organisation’s small Senior Management Team.

You will lead, direct and manage all operational delivery projects and programmes across the organisation. Responsible for all aspects of operational management, you will ensure the high-quality delivery of programmes in line with contract and funder requirements. You will personally line manage all operational Programme Managers, ensuring that service/programme operational plans (including KPIs) and individual staff work plans are in place and being adhered to and delivered against.

This role is responsible for winning new business, developing relationships and providing first-class stewardship and account management across a mixed high-value portfolio of partnership and philanthropy funders, focused on £50-100k relationships with trusts and grants funders primarily.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive targeted asks, focused on opportunities of 5- and 6-figure to support RSBC’s strategic goals and objectives 

• Work closely with the High Value Lead to develop robust plans for account management and new business across your portfolio 

• Provide first-class relationship management, ensuring RSBC high value supporters feel connected, recognised and valued; producing high-quality bespoke reports and updates to effectively demonstrate the impact of their funding 

• In collaboration with the wider External Affairs team, develop compelling multi-year cases for support and support the testing of new approaches (e.g. multi-agency bids, new trusts) 

• Proactively and creatively identify high-value opportunities and manage them through from start to finish, working with colleagues across the organisation, including the SLT and Income & Engagement Committee where appropriate

• Support the High Value Lead on large institutional bids 

• Work closely and collaboratively with service delivery and support teams to ensure detailed knowledge of the organisation’s activities, outcomes and impact to translate into compelling asks

Person Specification: 

• A demonstrable track record securing funding from trusts, foundations and/or statutory and institutional funders; working to an individual annual income target of c.£400k or above 

• Dynamic and results-focussed; thrives working proactively to spot opportunities and see them through 

• Strong interpersonal skills; able to build warm, genuine and trusting relationships internally and externally 

• A clear communicator and confident networker; highly articulate, able to tailor their tone and style to different audiences 

• Enjoys working with pace and urgency, while maintaining quality and offering great customer service 

• Excellent knowledge of the high value funder landscape

• Proven ability of achieving high level income targets, including a significant number of 5-figure asks and repeat funding from a range of donors and funders 

• Ability to monitor pipeline, gauge success rates, and address funding gaps in a timely manner

Meet your Manager

In this role, you will be managed by Andrea Lee, who joined ClientEarth in 2013 and is based in the UK. She has over ten years’ experience of working on sustainability projects and campaigns across the voluntary and public sectors in the UK, Spain and the USA. She first worked on the Healthy Air London community engagement project and now coordinates the national Healthy Air Campaign. Main Duties

• Support the Head of UK to develop and implement a UK public affairs and communications plan to meet the strategic needs of the organisation across climate, nature, corporate accountability, the rule of law, and in partnership with communications, digital and programmes teams. 
• Proactively stay abreast of political and media developments and any relevant priority policy developments in the UK and manage reactions to political developments.
• Monitor relevant developments in the UK Parliament, in line with the agreed UK strategy and coordinate and track engagement.
• Develop communications plans for CEO profile on priority communications and policy issues, working with colleagues across the communications team to do so.
• Support senior leaders in the UK to build and maintain relationships in line with the strategic needs of ClientEarth, and in line with the agreed priorities, including with elected officials, political advisers, journalists, civil servants, local leaders and their advisers and other public bodies.
