Duties and key responsibilities
Support and Information
- To deliver the Sarcoma UK Support Line, a confidential telephone and email support and information service for anyone affected by sarcoma. This includes:
- Providing individual information and support to service users on sarcoma and related issues, by telephone, email and other media as the service develops.
- Adhering to quality standards, confidentiality, Sarcoma UK policies and the standard operating procedures of the Support Line.
- Under direction from the Director of Research, Policy and Support and Support Line Manager, contribute to Sarcoma UK’s social and other media as appropriate.
- To provide clinical input to the development of the charity’s information materials including the revision of existing information materials and the development of new information products.
- To provide input to the clinical content of the charity’s website.
- To raise awareness of the charity’s information and support services within the health professional field.
- To contribute sarcoma knowledge and clinical expertise across all the charity’s programmes.
Maintain Professional Knowledge
- Keep up to date with treatment and care of sarcoma through research and review of publications, horizon scanning, and attending study days and conferences, and disseminate this information within the charity.
- Adhere to the standards of good practice outlined in the AHP / NMC professional code of conduct, or relevant professional body’s standards.
- Maintain professional registration and compliance with revalidation requirements ensuring ongoing clinical education and professional development.
- Attend mandatory clinical supervision sessions.
External Relationships
- To maintain positive relationships with key Sarcoma UK stakeholders including sarcoma patients, family members/carers and support group leaders.
- To develop and maintain contact with sarcoma specialist healthcare professionals, including clinicians, specialist nurses and allied health professionals who have reviewed our information materials.
Other
- To support new work within the information and support team.
- The role will require some travel to meetings and events throughout the UK and occasionally overseas.
- Attend Sarcoma UK events and take part in Sarcoma UK’s wider work.
- Occasional weekend or evening work may also be required and time off in lieu will be given.
- The post holder will be working in a developing environment and will therefore be required to undertake other appropriate duties as necessary for the efficient operation of Sarcoma UK.

About this key role
As a valued and integral part of the Fundraising and Communications team, our successful candidate will lead a small sub-team to generate at least £500,000 income each year, including the direct line management of a Senior Fundraising Officer, who you will support to line manage the Fundraising Assistant. We will count on you to implement effective processes and procedures across the fundraising and collaborating teams, manage and refine processes for recordkeeping and devise, maintain and update our Fundraising Handbook.
You will also be expected to manage the development and implementation of our Individual Giving Strategy and our Individual Giving income stream through single and regular giving appeals, as well as managing a portfolio of challenge events nationally that provides excellent stewardship for a range of participants. Developing and designing high-quality applications, presentations, and pitches to secure five-, six- and seven figure funding opportunities from Trusts & Foundations, Community Partners and High Net Worth Individuals is a key element of this role, as is providing excellent stewardship to existing donors.

Women V Cancer is a unique partnership between Dream Challenges, Breast Cancer Now and Ovarian Cancer Action. Together, we have raised more than £20 million in fundraising across a portfolio of one day mass participation cycling events and overseas multi-day cycling challenges.
The partnership has big aspirations for growth and is looking for someone to join as a Fundraising and Partnerships Officer with key responsibilities in relationship management across the partners, reporting and analysis, events marketing, and participant stewardship.

Key Areas
Marketing and stewardship
- Increase participant numbers on events through comprehensive and diverse marketing campaigns.
- Assist in digital advertising of events including creations of social media campaigns and PPC.

- Develop the partnerships first user-generated video content campaigns, and influencer campaigners, alongside the group Digital Marketing Manager.

Relationship management

- Coordinate project groups, communications and meetings, working with various teams within all parties to plan and schedule activities.
Reporting and analysis
- Work with the Marketing team and representatives from each of the charities to undertake campaign reporting, as well as post-event analysis including, but not limited to, audience insight and feedback, engagement and attendance rates, and fundraising per participant.
- Establishing a clear payment schedule for both sides for marketing contributions and donations.
- Track performance including registration numbers and income – reporting back to all parties.
- Undertake analysis work to improve understanding of current audience demographics and their interests, reviewing this regularly to ensure accuracy.
- Undertake regular competitor analysis work to scope trends and gaps in the marketplace – looking at how we benchmark ourselves against our competitors.
- Support on the strategic planning devised by all partners, providing insight learnt from the portfolio and audience analysis to help shape this.
General
- Keep up to date with sector knowledge to ensure best practice.
- Identify new trends and scope out new product development.
- Support all elements of event delivery (including volunteer recruitment, training weekends), attending UK and overseas events when required.
- Help identify and build relationships with relevant celebrities or influencers to contribute to the Women V Cancer marketing strategy
- Work alongside charity partners to develop supporter journeys for a series of UK and Overseas events which will increase conversion, average gift and retention.
- Identifying high value fundraisers and create a specific supporter journey for these individuals.
Personal Specification
Essential:
- Strong project management skills: a logical and thorough planner with the determination to see tasks through to completion.
- Experience in charity stewardship and increasing fundraising on live events.
- Experience in marketing events and recruiting participants.

What will I be doing?
Develop strategic, two-way, face to face relationships with new and existing supporters to build the portfolio of donors making philanthropic gifts of £10k - £100k+
Utilise our More Research, Less Cancer campaign collateral and engagement programme, combined with your creativity and interpersonal skills, to cultivate, ask and steward philanthropic individuals.
Invite and host donors at appropriate high value and philanthropy events; often working with the events team to create tailored events or group engagement opportunities.
Present CRUK's work to donors in a format that is appropriate for their motivations, scientific literacy and gift capacity; develop a strong working knowledge of the campaign priorities and scientific work of CRUK and engage expert colleagues in the journey to help inspire support where beneficial.
Maximise potential support from each donor, for example as a senior volunteer; accessing their networks, expertise, or considering other avenues of support e.g. a gift in their Will
Contribute to the on-going implementation of the Leadership Giving level strategy to grow income from gifts between £10k-£1m; take up tasks and projects as needed, spot opportunities and connect with internal stakeholders across Philanthropy and beyond to drive success.
Ensure donor activity, KPI and financial information is accurate and up to date on the database, to aid monthly performance monitoring and forecasting.
What are you looking for?
You don't have to have experience in philanthropy or the not-for-profit sector. Cancer affects us all, and we are keen to have representation and insight from a range of different backgrounds. However, you will need to demonstrate:
Proven experience of delivering income through securing new business in a commercial sales environment, including having met or exceeded KPIs and financial targets over a sustained period.
Proven experience of building effective long-term relationships with individual stakeholders to deliver planned goals and income
Excellent stakeholder management skills; the ability to communicate effectively and work professionally with a wide range of individuals including internal colleagues, institutional leaders, scientists and donors.

The Migraine Trust is the only UK migraine charity providing information and support, campaigning for awareness and change, and funding and promoting research, and has been leading and bringing the migraine community together since 1965. One in seven people in the UK live with migraine. This complex and debilitating neurological disorder can significantly affect many aspects of life including work, school, personal relationships, and feelings of isolation.
Every year over two million people visit The Migraine Trust website for the most up to date information, and thousands contact the helplines for information and support on all aspects of migraine. The Migraine Trust campaign for increased awareness and understanding of migraine, better access to treatment, and national policy change to improve the lives of people who get it.
The Information Manager will coordinate and develop a range of health information needed by the migraine community and people living with migraine to raise awareness to both members of the public and health care professionals. The role is also responsible for ensuring the information on the website is up to date and coordinating and managing Patient Information Forum renewals.
Key responsibilities
- Produce and maintain quality health information: You will manage and update health information, scope, plan, and create new content in consultation with stakeholders, and identify target groups to produce materials to meet their needs. You will work within the Information and Support team constantly communicating with colleagues working on front line services to ensure the information being produced is in line with service users needs. You will also be responsible for managing the organisations PIF processes and assessments.
- Engage with the migraine community: You will hold focus groups to understand information needs, build strategic partnerships to disseminate information effectively, and support staff learning and knowledge-building about migraine.
- Support communication and dissemination: You will work with the Communications team to create accessible information formats, provide content for videos, blogs, and other communication channels and regularly monitor and report on the impact of information provision.
- Research: You will act as the key point of communication for the research committee, manage administrative duties for research funding applications and grants, and coordinate research meetings and liaise with funded researchers for project updates.
- Represent and support the charity: You will represent The Migraine Trust at external events and build relationships with healthcare professionals and stakeholders.
The Information Manager will have solid experience of communicating complex health information to audiences in written and online formats, as well as proven experience of producing information from the research stage through to writing, external review and liaising with designers. The successful candidate will have the ability to gain an in-depth understanding of medical and health related information, including research and critical analysis skills to develop an evidence base. You will have experience working within a health communication environment, with excellent verbal and written communication skills, and meticulous attention to detail with demonstrable editing and proofreading skills. You will have the ability to liaise with key stakeholders, be a self-starter with an ability to work independently and as part of a team and be able to work to tight deadlines. You will have knowledge and understanding of the benefits of patient engagement to produce health information.
The role is home-based with meetings in London once every 3 months which will include overnight stays and some ad hoc national travel. All travel/overnight expenses are covered. About the Role

The Fundraising and Engagement Manager will lead the development and successful rollout of Mind BLMK’s Fundraising and Engagement strategy, annual plans, generation income and key project work which aim to deliver significant net income growth and increase awareness by maximising local support.
The successful applicant will ensure the Fundraising and Engagement strategy meets the needs of supporters, including those affected by mental health issues, as appropriate.
Key Duties
- Be the leading authority on Fundraising and Engagement activity at Mind BLMK, devising the strategies as well as developing and delivering the annual operational plan.
- Maintain a strong strategic vision of Fundraising and Engagement activity at Mind BLMK and ensure developments are in line with the wider organisation strategies. Support colleagues to embrace change for long-term benefit.
- Ensure the Fundraising and Engagement strategy meets the needs of supporters, including those affected by mental health issues, as appropriate.
- Maintain an effective workforce for the department in line with Mind BLMK’s HR policies, procedures and guidance (recruitment, line management, workload planning, support and development of the Fundraising and Engagement support role).
- Manage and develop the risk analysis of Fundraising income to provide up-to-date financial forecasts to Line Manager / CEO and Board as required.
- Take a leadership role within the organisation to promote collaborative working with colleagues to deliver on Fundraising and communication potential.
- Provide expert advice on fundraising to wider Mind BLMK colleagues, volunteers and supporters on Fundraising theory and operational delivery, as required.
- Source and nurture local major donors, building and maintaining the relationships to deliver on Fundraising targets.
- Contribute to local trust and grant applications, working collaboratively with colleagues and following agreed systems and processes.
- Deliver successful portfolio of local events which meet or exceed agreed participant numbers, average raised per participant and overall return on investment.
- Provide exceptional stewardship to current supporters to ensure that income and opportunities are maximised in accordance with Fundraising processes.
- Hold responsibility for the implementation of Mind branding guidelines and specifications across the organisation, reviewing, monitoring and advising as necessary to ensure corporate identity is maintained in line with Mind BLMK policies and procedures.

ROLE PURPOSE

KEY TASKS AND DELIVERABLES
Oversee Operational Excellence - Oversee the important day-to-day operations of the church and its buildings and hold oversight responsibility for: Project roll-out; Health and Safety; Food Hygiene, Fire Assessment; Risk Management; Infrastructure; GDPR and Accessibility issues.
- Develop and lead the ongoing strategic plan for the church’s activity in consultation with the wider team.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Being part an active part of the worship of the Christian Church is a genuine occupational requirement for this role. The Operations Lead will be expected to be part of the worshipping community at All Saints while holding this role. The role holder must be available to work a selection of Key Annual events which will include various Holiday services, Church Meetings, Focus (our church summer holiday festival), and other key ministry events (for which advanced notice of dates will be given and time in lieu will be given if outside of normal working hours). As Scientific and Patient Information Manager, you will work in the Medical Education and Scientific Engagement team at Myeloma Patients Europe. Under the Department Head and MPE Leadership Team, you will oversee the following projects and activities:
European Myeloma and AL Amyloidosis Clinical Trial Navigator Management (Approximately 50%)
MPE has developed an online clinical trial search tool of European myeloma and AL amyloidosis clinical trials for patients and advocates (https:// navigator.mpeurope. org/en). This role will be responsible for the management, improvement, and promotion of this core MPE programme, including:
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate database of all industry and academic recruiting myeloma, AL amyloidosis, MGUS, and smouldering myeloma clinical trials in Europe
- Liaise with industry and academic clinical trial sponsors, clinical trial sites, and other stakeholders to maintain database up-to-date
- Liaise with web developers to manage the Navigator website, make enhancements, and fix technical issues
- Oversee implementation of translated materials in multiple languages
- Elicit feedback from patients, family members, clinicians and other stakeholders to ensure continued improvement and enhancements
- Manage website news and content
Patient Education Management (Approximately 40%)
A key role of MPE is providing up-to-date, comprehensive, and patient friendly educational materials and tools for our members and the patient community, as well as communicating about advances in myeloma and AL amyloidosis. This role will be responsible for working across MPE to develop an educational plan and develop and deliver resources including:
- Perform efficient scientific watch (monitoring advancements in research and clinical development)
- In coordination with the Head of Medical Education and Scientific Engagement, as well as other department Heads (Patient Research, Access and Policy, Communication, Capacity Building and Advocacy), develop and prioritise a patient educational plan based on member and patient needs, scientific advances and cross-department projects
- Research, write, and develop patient education materials including factsheets, Q&As, webinars, infographics, news stories and social media content related to clinical and scientific updates
- Attending (in person or virtually) scientific congresses and developing conference and scientific meeting summaries, organising post-conference webinars for patients in collaboration with the Communication department
- Manage the execution of educational materials from conception to publication in coordination with Department Head, other MPE departments, and external stakeholders (key opinion leaders, proofreaders etc.)
Patient and member support (Approximately 5%)
- Answer medical and scientific inquiries from patients, carers and MPE members
- Seek information by liaising with appropriate stakeholders (industry, academia, MPE Medical Advisory Committee)
- Build good relationships with MPE’s members
Other 5% - staff meetings, annual events, support the rest of the team with clinical and scientific information.
About you
Essential
- A Bachelor’s or a Master’ s degree in a relevant scientific field
- Minimum of four years of relevant experience
- Demonstrable experience (and tested during the interview process) of writing and communicating scientific/complex information for lay audiences across different media

JOB SUMMARY
The post holder will managing and lead the effective high quality delivery of the Grief Encounter therapeutic services, including online services, through a team of Therapists, Clinical Supervisors, placement students and volunteers.
