Growing Hope is a charity that champions accessibility and provides free therapy for children and young people with additional needs in partnership with local churches across the UK. We aim to grow hope for children, hope for families and hope in Jesus.

Growing Hope was founded in December 2017 and has a vision to see 20 clinics set up across the UK by 2030. We have five clinics, King’s Cross, Brockley, High Wycombe, Gateshead and Redbridge. Each clinic is a local CIO which runs in partnership with Growing Hope and the local church. We have worked with over 1000 children, young people, parents, carers and siblings since we launched. As a national charity Growing Hope has trained over 1500 professionals & parents. We are continuing to expand, with the set-up of further local clinics on the horizon

We are seeking an experienced Executive Assistant to our senior leadership team of four individuals – our CEO, Executive Director of Services, Director of Operations, and Director of Growth. We are looking for a strategic and innovative individual with strong planning and organisational skills who is committed to the Growing Hope vision and values. As the charity grows we require support for project management and development of processes across the organisation. We’re looking for an individual who looks at the bigger picture, can help us with horizon scanning and can bring new ideas and processes to our ways of working.

Job Purpose
As Growing Hope reaches towards its vision to have twenty clinics by 2030, the Senior Team require additional support in order that they can fulfil the strategic direction of their roles. The Executive Assistant will be flexible and adaptable and able to help the team with streamlining processes as the charity grows. This role will provide essential daily support to the senior team including diary management, project management and process support across the organisation.   

Main Duties and Responsibilities 

Duties and responsibilities will be discussed and developed as the charity continues to grow. The role will involve: 

• Providing administrative support for the Senior Leadership Team, making effective use of their time by planning and managing their schedules through diary management, forward planning and managing deadlines. 
• Strategically developing processes to enable the senior leadership team to manage their work effectively. 
• Taking initiative within the team in order to support the function of the charity. 
• Having a flexible approach and working with individuals at all levels. 
• Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise work and projects.
• Supporting standing meetings and committees: scheduling meetings in liaison with participants, compiling papers, taking and distributing minutes.
• Support managing inboxes as requested. 
• Managing complex diaries and scheduling meetings across the team.
• Maintaining the charities strategic risk register.
• Support with policy and procedures. Helping to ensure policies and procedures are up to date and reflect current legislation. 
• Maintain data protection and confidentiality in line with Growing Hope’s information governance policy.

Project Management:

• Managing specific projects as agreed with the team for example, Fundraising Event planning, Christian Therapists Forum etc. 
• Liaising with external organisations to support various functions within the charity, including IT, HR, insurance, and governance. 
• Support of the Director of Operations with general office admin and volunteer onboarding and supervision

Purpose of this role 

The primary purpose of this role is to deliver activities to young people within the school that contribute towards the development of happy, thriving and resilient young adults. The role will promote their positive school experience and contributions to society.

This role is to provide sustained support to vulnerable young people within the school, helping them to overcome issues, before they become potentially serious problems.

Responsibilities

The support and delivery of Chichester District Foodbank’s external communications as well as the image Chichester District Foodbank portrays externally to our clients, volunteers, donors and stakeholders.

About Chichester District Foodbank:

Chichester District Foodbank was founded in 2012 and has four foodbanks in Chichester, Midhurst, Petworth and Selsey.  We are part of the Trussell Trust network providing emergency food and support for people locked in poverty and campaign for change to end the need for foodbanks.

The Role 
 
As our Policy Officer you will use the latest evidence and insight to drive the creation of policies and position statements and related key messages. The subject of these will be informed by the charity’s strategy as well as our priority setting processes but will largely be focused around: 

• Prevention - Reducing smoking rates particularly focusing on people who are already interacting with the health system, as well as other messaging around reducing risk of cancer. 

• Diagnosis - Improving the early diagnosis of cancer through promoting existing and new pathways for cancer diagnosis.

• Treatment - Improving treatments available to patients across Yorkshire and improving access to clinical trials. 

Specifically, you will: 

Policy development 

• Work with the Policy and Public Affairs Manager to research and produce high quality, evidence-based cancer-related policies and position statements.

• Work with relevant internal teams to create key messages for a range of internal and external stakeholders, ensuring these are in line with the latest evidence. 

• Ensure existing policies and position statements are kept up to date, taking ownership for these updates when new evidence is published. 

Influencing 

• Develop written policy materials and reports to aid influencing, considering priorities identified by PPI groups, the NHS, and coupled with insights from the latest data. 

• Support the charity’s response to regional and national consultations relevant to cancer in Yorkshire, ensuring responses are clear, succinct and evidence-based.

• Represent the charity at external events and meetings, developing contacts, building relationships and increasing the charity’s profile. 

External communications 

• Work in collaboration with the Brand and Relationships team to support the delivery of public-facing brand and PR campaigns and messaging to ensure key policy messages are accurate and well-integrated.

• Support idea generation, development and delivery of future public health campaigns where the focus could be on topics like screening, stopping smoking or cancer symptom awareness. 

 
About You

• To have a degree in a relevant subject area, for example politics and government affairs, public policy etc.  

• To have experience of researching and writing evidence-based policies, including by conducting literature reviews.

• To have experience of writing associated policy documentation such as briefings, letters, blogs and campaign materials.

• To have experience of working with others to integrate key messages into external communications, such as blogs, press releases or campaigns.

The Role
The Project Support Officer will provide administrative support to the charitys portfolio of programs and projects.
You will assist in the coordination of internal and external programs, applying effective project management methodologies.
The role involves supporting the commissioning process, including the creation of business cases and assessment of bids.
The Project Support Officer will also be responsible for contract management and evaluation of externally commissioned activities.
They will facilitate the involvement of people with Lived Experience of Gambling Harms in shaping the organisations work.
Secretariat support will be provided to advisory panels, program boards, and steering groups.
The role includes organising and delivering events, seminars, and workshops.
You will ill develop and maintain relationships with delivery partners and external stakeholders.

The Candidate
The essential knowledge and experience required for the role include understanding project management methodology, producing project documentation, providing customer care, and setting up processes.
The required skills and abilities include the ability to work on multiple projects, excellent IT skills, effective communication, and the ability to build strong relationships.
Desirable qualifications include PRINCE2, Agile Project Management, and Managing Successful Programmes.

About Home-Start:

We are a community-based charity with 30 years’ experience of supporting local families with children under the age of 5. We offer our combination of home-visiting, counselling and group support to families across Watford, Three Rivers and Hertsmere districts. Working closely with colleagues from across the organisation and our contacts within the community, the successful applicant will support the external communications of the charity, helping to extend the reach of the charity. Raising awareness, developing donor and supporter relationships, working with the Directors to identify and develop funding streams.

The role:
As a Community Engagement and Fundraising Officer, you will play a vital role in helping our charity manage and develop relationships with our donors, supporters and our existing key relationships, whilst identifying and creating new relationships in our local areas to garner support and promote our services.

• You will be responsible for delivering activity to maximise fundraising from our community, including schools, individuals, local businesses and community groups. You will proactively recruit, grow and nurture supporters, empowering them to manage their own fundraising activities.
• You will manage our annual challenge event programme from supporter engagement, assisting fundraisers journey and utilising tools to maximise supporter’s impact.
• Crucial to your role will be building strong and lasting relationships with supporters, colleagues and volunteers, positively engaging with members of the public and maximising all fundraising opportunities.

What you’ll do:Principle duties and responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the delivery of effective Community Engagement and Fundraising.
• Actively promote all aspects of Home-Start Watford, Three Rivers and Hertsmere to local businesses, schools, community organisations, volunteer groups, and individuals.
• Motivate and influence supporters to independently manage their own fundraising activities, with your support, being the main contact for supporters.
• Work closely the Business Support Officer to manage and create social media content to promote fundraising activities, relationships with supporters and the relationships you build in the community.
• Prepare and deliver individualised communications, presentations and assemblies for a diverse range of audiences.
• Attend and run activities at a variety of community events when required, to ensure a strong presence from Home-Start Watford, Three Rivers and Hertsmere in the communities where we support.
• Identify and implement new fundraising opportunities and initiatives.
• Work closely with the other Community engagement and fundraisers, building on local knowledge, sharing best practice and creating a peer circle of support, including peers from HSUK our parent company.
• Act as an advocate within the community. Uphold our values, and communicate with enthusiasm, credibility, conviction and knowledge.
• This role will require occasional weekend and evening working.
• Keep up to date with all fundraising legal implications.
• You will be responsible for creating our quarterly newsletter, working with the rest of the team, to engage with our supporters.
• Create Bi-monthly board reports on the growth of community engagement, communications and fundraising, which will go directly to the trustee board. Occasional attendance at board, building a relationship with a trustee identified to manage fundraising.
• Annually, you will lead on the creation of the annual report and social impact reporting working across the team.
• Creating strong relationships with local magazines and identifying and managing news tools to ensure that we are sharing our successes and informing our audiences of our services. Occasionally creating press releases for campaigns and building a network of people to help share our news as far and wide as possible.
• You will also be involved in the updating of our website, working with the Business Support Officer and volunteers to ensure our website remains the best tool to advertise what we do.
• Creating and nurturing a small group of fundraising support volunteers to help facilitate events and share our story in the community.

What you’ll bring:Experience

• Preferable, fundraising experience of 1 year, in a community engagement or fundraising role in the charity sector.
• Demonstrable experience in building relationships within the community and with fundraisers.
• Demonstrable experience in managing your own income budget and monitoring expenditure against agreed targets. Analysis of income data, identifying trends, evaluating activity and ROI, and ensuring key learnings and insight are fed into planning and budgeting of future activity as appropriate.
• Demonstrated success in coordinating events, campaigns and initiatives.
• Familiarity with donor databases, CRM systems, and fundraising software.
• Able to provide direction, energy and capability to lead fundraising volunteers at community events.
• Understanding of fundraising principles, best practices, and ethical standards.
• Knowledge of Community Engagement and different fundraising channels.
• Awareness of current trends and innovations in fundraising.
