The role of Legal Assistant reports to the Director of Legal & Governance and you will assist them in ensuring the legal function of the organisation runs efficiently and smoothly by providing a range of support, including preparing various legal documents such as grants and service agreements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal and legal requirements and working closely with colleagues across the organisation.

You will contribute to the smooth functioning of legal processes and ensure that colleagues and external stakeholders receive an efficient service.

You must also be a proactive, innovative, team-worker with good communication skills who can work collaboratively with many stakeholders. 

Willingness to learn new skills and software is key, as is experience with finance and accounting software such as Xero.

The Society for Cardiothoracic Surgery (SCTS) is a professional society for all healthcare professionals involved and interested in cardiothoracic surgery. 

This role supports the main purpose of advancing science in the field of cardiothoracic surgery for the benefit of the public by encouraging and promoting excellence in the practice of cardiothoracic surgery.

The SCTS Meetings team is responsible for organising and delivering the SCTS Annual Conference for all categories of professionals including Consultants, Medical Practitioners, Nationally Appointed Surgical Trainees, Trust appointed doctors and Nurses and Allied Health Professionals.

The team work flexibly from home and on site at least one day a week (but more will be required for initial training) at our office based in the Royal College of Surgeons of England in Central London.

Job Purpose and Summary 

Do you want to be part of an exciting and varied fundraising programme?

Currently, our student team supports hundreds of students per year to take part in some incredible fundraising challenges. This includes national and international treks and marathons, such as climbing Kilimanjaro, trekking across the Morocco High Atlas Mountains or running 26.2 miles through Budapest. 

We have two roles available for Student Fundraising Assistants to work with the current team across campuses in the UK and one in Ireland. With the purpose to engage with students at our partner universities and inspire them to join us on a fuindraising challenge to defeat meningitis and tick off a bucket list adventure.

The Student Fundraising Assistant will support the student team with recruiting students to take on one of these challenges. Some primary tasks and activities will include attending freshers' fairs, presenting about Meningitis Research Foundation’s student programme at information meetings and making phone calls to those who have registered their interest.

This role requires strong prioritisation and communication skills, sensitivity and flexibility. Whether you come with direct fundraising experience or have transferable skills that the role requires, we will support and develop you to excel in your role. What we are really looking for is someone passionate about making a difference and who is confident and outgoing when talking to new people. You will be the face and voice of the cause when talking to students. 

Meningitis Research Foundation is based in Bristol, but this role is flexible and is open to remote working with regular visits to universities across the UK.

We offer an annual salary of £23,000 (pro-rata), 6% employer pension contribution and employee assistance program alongside annual leave of 25 days per year (pro-rata). You will report to the Senior Fundraising Manager (Events and Community) within the Fundraising Team and work closely with the Student Team who will assign day-to-day activities.

The Social Media Manager is an integral role within the Marketing team at CoppaFeel! and will play an essential part in supporting our 3-year organisational growth strategy. The Social Media Manager needs to be social obsessed with a keen eye for new and emerging trends that will ensure CoppaFeel!’s social channels organically reach our 18 - 24 year old target audience.

Fundraising Manager (Maternity Cover)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Fundraising Manager to lead our friendly fundraising team. Focusing on developing our Events, Community and Individual Giving income, whilst developing relationships with individuals across the UK, to raise funds and increase the profile of the charity.

About the job

Leading the Meningitis Now Fundraising team, you will oversee delivering an annual programme of fundraising and income generating activities, including an exciting national events programme, community development programme, and individual giving programme. Supporting the team in reaching the income targets for the charity as well as delivering a strategy to grow sustainable income.

The role will have a focus on Community, Events and Individual Giving fundraising. Involving the delivery of our national events programme, supporter organised activities and our Individual Giving Programme including direct marketing, and in memory fundraising.

The post holder will work collaboratively with the fundraising team to deliver the expected income for the charity. The post holder will be expected to draw on their experience of developing relationships with a wide range of people to ensure that Meningitis Now is the beneficiary of choice across all fundraising activities.

Key duties and responsibilities

• Deliver an annual Fundraising operational plan and meet financial target
• Deliver and develop a Fundraising strategy with the aim of growing income and the number of active supporters over time
• Manage the fundraising team as a whole, including Senior Fundraising Officers and Fundraising Officers with direct Line management to the Senior Fundraising Officers
• Ensuring the team are well supported, motivated and have clear objectives and opportunities for personal development
• Manage the team to ensure that the resources are directed to areas that will achieve the greatest return on investment
• Develop Meningitis Now’s fundraising messaging, including a consistent and compelling case for support
• Create and implement successful marketing plans using a range of communication channels to drive fundraising enquiry numbers, conversions and ultimately income

What we're looking for

• Experience of working in a fundraising or sales/marketing environment (preferably within the charity sector)
• Excellent proven leadership skills with experience of managing a large and dynamic hybrid team
• Excellent financial planning skills and the ability to manage large and complex budgets
• Experience of planning, delivering and evaluating fundraising activities and events with the aim of continuous improvement
• Experience of fundraising or marketing campaigns including acquisition and retention campaigns
• Working with designers, copywriters, printers and mailing houses to develop and produce mailing packs
• Developing relationships with supporters who are devising and undertaking their own fundraising activities

What you will do:

A vital role in our Fundraising team, you will be working with individuals, organisations, schools, and small businesses in the local areas across the southern region to raise income and awareness for the charity. You will recruit, manage, and inspire fundraising volunteers to support us to raise much-needed funds. Key responsibilities include:

• Experience working with senior colleagues to grow networks, income and identify opportunities

About the Charity

The Environment Investigation Agency investigate and campaign against environmental crime and abuse. Their undercover investigations expose transnational wildlife crime, with a focus on elephants and tigers, and forest crimes such as illegal logging and deforestation for cash crops like palm oil. The EIA work to safeguard global marine ecosystems by addressing the threats posed by plastic pollution, bycatch and commercial exploitation of whales, dolphins and porpoises. About the Role

This is an exciting time to join EIA as the fundraising team grows. As the Philanthropy Manager, you will lead on the development and delivery of a new philanthropy programme, which includes developing tailored stewardship programmes for High Net Worth Individuals (HNWIs), expanding the donor base through effective prospecting and cultivation, and working with campaign teams to develop donor funding propositions. CW+, the official charity of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, is seeking an experienced and ambitious individual to shape and develop a portfolio of circa 80 donors and prospects and seek new potential donors to support their work.

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is one of the top ranked and top performing healthcare Trusts in the UK, providing care to a community of over one million people across two hospital sites and twelve community clinics. The Trust is the fourth largest A&E provider in the UK, treating over 300,000 patients each year.

Over the last six years CW+ has grown its fundraising programme extensively and is now seeking a Philanthropy Manager to join their team at a crucial stage in their Thirty at Thirty major appeal – its ambitious programme to raise £30m to celebrate the Trust’s 30th birthday. This will be the largest fundraising drive in the charity’s history and a successful, effective team will be central to its success.

The role will be responsible for cultivating and securing gifts from existing and new high-value donors, with a focus on securing five and six figure donations.  The post-holder will initiate, foster and develop rich, long-term relationships with donors capable of giving transformational support to CW+ and develop and grow the current major giving pipeline and portfolio of major gifts from high net worth individuals.

As the portfolio is mixed in its development, it is important that this post holder can work with tenacity and resilience in an ever evolving landscape of relationships and opportunities, in close collaboration with the Chief Executive and the Director of Fundraising. The successful candidate must have a positive, pro-active, donor-centric approach to relationship fundraising and demonstrate proven success at securing major gift support from individuals and family trusts/foundations. Alongside excellent relationship and communication skills, candidates must be confident, resourceful and proactive, with initiative and a problem-solving disposition.
