Our long-term vision is a world where children benefit because talented people, who’ve already had successful careers, become teachers, and bring their skills and experiences to the schools that need them most. We support Now Teachers, training providers, schools and the wider education system to realise the full potential of career-changers in education. 

Career-changers bring new experiences into the classroom, but they often need support to complete their training and stay in teaching. We offer Now Teachers one-to-one support, alongside a comprehensive structured programme helping them change career successfully. This support continues after they’ve completed their training, and the Now Teach Network is there to help make the most of their experience and skills as career-changers.  

Our support helps Now Teachers stay in teaching: 75% of Now Teachers are still in teaching 2 years after qualifying, compared to much lower percentages nationally. Nearly 90% of our cohort are satisfied or very satisfied with the support they get from Now Teach.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

Role overview 

As Operations Executive, you will collaborate closely with the COO to enhance our operational efficiency and ensure seamless cross-organisational progress. In this key position, you will be responsible for monitoring and advancing our objectives, fostering collaboration, and optimizing processes to achieve our strategic goals, as well as providing first line HR and operations support to the whole of Now Teach. 

This role will involve working across several projects/services at a time, and the priorities of the role will adapt and develop over time depending on the needs and priorities of the organisation and where the support is needed most. If you are super organised, love coordination, communication and you have a keen eye for detail, this could be the job for you. 

In this role you will……  

Organisational effectiveness 

• Working with the COO, create tools and processes to track progress against organisational objectives, as well as designing and running the annual organisational objective setting process, in close consultation with the COO and other key staff members. 
• Proactively identify and mitigate cross-departmental risks to ensure timely and effective mitigation. 
• Identify and propose suggestions for improvement to cross organisational systems, processes and ways of working. 
• Own the policy update log and process, engaging the team and bringing in subject matter experts as required. 
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and agile ways of working, including defining our approach to project management. 
• Provide reporting and analysis as required by the COO and CEO. 
• Ensure all key organisational dates and meetings are booked and clearly communicated with backwards planning of critical milestones. 

People coordination and support 

• Lead the onboarding, offboarding, training, and development of all Now Teach staff members, continuously enhancing these processes to align with organisational values. 
• Develop our people processes and policies in a way which is aligned to our values and enhances the experience of all staff members. 
• Act as a point of contact on general HR/People and operational queries for the Now Teach team and administer relevant people files and our employee database (SafeHR). 
• Support in the recruitment of diverse and effective staff, ensuring an effective recruitment process is in place for hiring managers to follow. 
• Manage and analyse our quarterly staff survey, making suggestions for how we can improve the staff experience. 
• Ensure there is an up-to-date record of all contracts and agreements with contractors and freelancers.
• Provide support to the payroll process as necessary. 

General support and administration 

• Own the scheduling and planning of Team and collaboration days, securing and booking meeting rooms and locations and cohering an internal team to plan an engaging employee experience.
• Coordinate IT support services with our outsourced provider, ensuring the smooth day to day running of the organisation 
• Maintain the Now Teach equipment register.
• Deliver induction training on the basics of our IT and technology set up
• Support with the running of our CRM, liaising across departments regarding any system development or change requests 
• Any other general support commensurate with the role.

• Experience analysing and presenting complex information simply. 
• Great attention to detail and the ability to join the dots and make connections between different areas of the organisation. 
• Excellent verbal and written communication and relationship management skills.
• Experience using a variety of tech systems and CRMs. 
• Desirable but not essential – knowledge of UK employment law (or a desire to learn).

The Open Wing Alliance (OWA), a program of The Humane League, is a global coalition of approximately 90 animal protection organizations across 70+ countries united in a common goal: to end the abuse of chickens worldwide. For the past several years, we have focused our efforts on eliminating battery cages by securing cage-free policies from major retailers, restaurants, and manufacturers. OWA groups share tactics and resources to secure as many wins for animals as possible, specializing in institutional campaigning that can be tailored to our members’ unique circumstances and challenges.

As the Open Wing Alliance Grant Lead, you are accountable for overseeing the OWA’s grant and travel award programs, which provide funding to emerging farm animal protection groups around the world, empowering them to carry out cage-free and broiler campaign work. Your responsibilities include leading the grant application and review process, making funding recommendations, and regularly evaluating grantee progress. This position reports to the Senior OWA Projects Manager.

This is a full-time, remote position. This position requires domestic and international travel, equivalent to 3 or more trips per year.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee the OWA’s annual grant cycle from start to finish; this includes collecting applications, leading the funding review process, consolidating feedback from the review team, and making funding recommendations. Conceive and implement improvements to the grant process to increase efficiency and impact. 

• Collaborate with OWA Regional Leads on the distribution of travel awards for each OWA summit, providing funding to assist OWA member groups with travel expenses. 

• Organize and lead meetings with grantees to evaluate progress. Develop clear guidelines for progress and financial reporting and build out systems and processes to increase accountability. Create an annual report on each grantee's progress, feedback, and overall success.

• Continuously evaluate and enhance the OWA’s Grant Management System (GMS). Maintain up-to-date grant information in accordance with THL’s data privacy policy.

• Collaborate with members of THL’s Legal and Finance teams to ensure timely, efficient, and compliant administration of program grants and travel awards. Develop written contracts in partnership with the Legal team, and maintain effective systems for payment processing.

• Communicate effectively with OWA member groups in both written and verbal formats, answering questions, providing support, and gathering feedback to improve the grant program. 

• Ensure equitable access to OWA funding by providing clear and transparent guidelines, taking regional nuances into consideration in decision-making, and fostering a sense of inclusion and belonging. 

• Maintain positive, collaborative relationships with other funders in the farm animal welfare space in order to connect grantees with opportunities to further grow their influence, resources, and organizational capacity.

• Collaborate with THL’s Development team to develop compelling content and provide reports and data to engage existing and potential donors. Support and participate in donor meetings to showcase the progress of the OWA’s grant program and the performance of beneficiary groups.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Experience: Previous relevant experience in a role involving grantmaking or grant writing, project management, analytics and reporting, and/or communication with a wide variety of stakeholders.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual compensation range for this role is $68,473- $83,689 USD, or £38,203 - £46,692 GBP. At The Humane League, we believe in maintaining a fair and equitable work environment for all employees. The Head of Philanthropy & Partnerships leads a team which inspires support and develops and sustains relationships with businesses, major donors, trusts and foundations and some statutory funders to help deliver the strategic ambitions of the charity. The team has substantial growth plans – and this role is to help shape and build that growth. It requires someone excited to deliver change and comfortable operating as a player – coach, delivering both leadership and hands on activity.

The Team 

IPS Grow is a national programme designed to support the expansion of Individual Placement and Support (IPS) services in mental health, primary care, and drug and alcohol teams across England. The programme is led by the organisation in partnership with the Centre for Mental Health. It is funded by NHS England and Improvement (NHSE/I), the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), and the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID).

A core element of the programme is the expert assistance provided by a team of IPS professionals, known as IPS Grow Leads, to support providers to improve their fidelity to the IPS model and achieve better employment outcomes for their clients.

About the Role 

You will work with IPS Grow colleagues to develop the necessary skills and knowledge to become an effective IPS professional, supporting the national expansion of evidence-based employment provision within health systems. About the role: 

Reporting to the Community Fundraising Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading on all Community Fundraising within their geographical area.

The project is to meet and hear from people who have been in mental health hospitals. We will be finding out about what went well and what could have been better.

We want to make sure that our information, conversations and activities are easy to understand for people with a learning disability. You’ll be helping us to get it right.

Sometimes you will be helping us write questions, sometimes you will be meeting people in hospital to find out about their experience. Sometimes you might come to workshops to help us run them well. We also want your help to think about what people tell us. You will help us tell people what we have found out in a way that is easy to understand.

We really want to hear from some people who don’t often get the chance to say what they think. We will be meeting with some people to do workshops and activities. We will be meeting other people online. You can work with us to help us make this interesting and easy to understand for people with a learning disability.

The work time is not fixed for this job and working days will change across the month. The person will be paid for half a day each week. This will mean that the person might work a full day one week and not work the next week, but that payment will always be the same at the end of each month. We will agree working days and time with the person.

Our mission is to drive up the role of DDN people in the arts and screen industries and the role the arts, screen and creativity in the lives of DDN people, changing the lives of DDN people for the better. We’re disabled led at all levels of the organisation – from our Board, through our Senior Leadership Team, our staff, our access leads, and our intersectional focus groups. We work across the whole of the UK to effect change, collaborating with the major broadcasters, production houses, theatres and arts organisations.

About the role

The core purpose of the role is to ensure that TripleC’s output (whether on social media, on our website, in our marketing materials etc) is attractive and accessible for DDN people with a range of access requirements.
The successful candidate will have a strong creative flair and a passion for digital and storytelling alongside proven expertise in marketing and communications.

The Marketing and Communications Lead plays a crucial role in supporting TripleC’s engagement with:

• Deaf, disabled and/or neurodivergent (DDN) creatives including professionals who work in the arts and screen industries, and DDN young people and adults in the community;
• Our audiences (at webinars, masterclasses, workshops, live in-person events);
• Our industry stakeholders (eg theatres, broadcasters, producers, arts organisations);
• Our funders (eg Arts Council England, National Lottery, ScreenSkills); and
• The press and media.

• Commitment to TripleC’s mission to drive up the role of DDN people in the arts and screen industries and the role of the arts and screen in the lives of DDN people.
• Understanding of and belief in the inclusion of all staff and stakeholders irrespective of race, gender, sexuality, age, access requirements, economic background, or lived experience.
• Professional experience in/knowledge of Marketing and Communications.
• Excellent communication skills to create compelling, creative and persuasive communications.
• Previous knowledge of/skillsets in content creation for a company or organisation.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage and take responsibility for own workload, handle multiple priorities, and delegate workloads and workflows to others.
• Excellent IT skills including use of Google Drive/Docs, Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of/skillset in creative project software/platforms such as Canva 
• Solution focused.

Terms
This is a permanent, employed (PAYE) role. 
The core contract is for 3 days per week (22.5 hours). We also offer paid overtime from time to time by mutual consent. 
There will be a probationary period of 3 months.
Salary: pro rata 3 days a week (22.5 hours) £25,740 (£42,900 full time equivalent)

The Bridge Group is a non-profit consultancy that uses research to promote social equality. We do this by supporting organisations of all kinds with independent expertise, research and practical know-how to enable them to make a tangible impact on socio-economic diversity and social equality.

We are seeking to appoint a Researcher (Quantitative analysis) to contribute to the design and delivery of research, with a particular focus on preparing and analysing quantitative data. The Researcher will normally be involved with research projects focusing on higher education and/or employment in relation to people from lower socio-economic backgrounds: their access, experiences and progression.

The location is flexible: Bridge Group staff normally work remotely and are currently dispersed across the UK and beyond. This will be a part-time role, as outlined above, and will be one year fixed-term contract in the first instance (with possibility of extension).

All staff receive 28 days paid leave, plus UK bank holidays (leave allocated pro rata for part time appointments), plus a tax-free remote working allowance worth up to £26 per month.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1.   Contribute to the design and delivery of research

Data analysis will vary from routine coding and mapping to descriptive statistics and advanced approaches including correlation analysis, ANOVAs and regression analysis. In preparing data, the Researcher will identify the need for clarifications and additional information on the data, and will clearly communicate these queries. The Researcher will undertake this work in strict compliance with the Charity’s policies on data security and confidentiality.

2.   Collaborate with colleagues

The Researcher will normally work alongside the Senior Researcher (Quantitative), who will typically lead on the quantitative aspect of research projects and will allocate responsibilities to the Researcher. The Researcher will be expected to undertake these with relatively little guidance and share their findings with the research team, working alongside colleagues to synthesise qualitative and quantitative findings and understand how findings from various strands of research address key research questions.

3.   Communicate research findings

The Researcher will clearly present their specific outputs to the Senior Researcher and/or other colleagues through concise informal reports. They will contribute verbally to internal meetings of the research team. The Researcher may contribute to drafting external reports (or sections of reports), presenting findings in a style accessible to a range of audiences.

4.   Operational contributions

There will also be other more operational tasks associated with the role, working in collaboration with colleagues in the Charity. These are likely to include administrative tasks for meetings and events; communications with stakeholders, including by phone and email; copywriting; and website contributions.

SKILLS, UNDERSTANDING AND EXPERIENCE

We seek candidates with the following attributes:

Quantitative research

• Have experience in advanced statistical approaches including, for example, ANOVA, and non-parametric approaches
• Understand how these are used to explore social equality issues and are aware of recent published work in this area
• Have substantial experience of identifying the most appropriate approach to explore specific research questions within the context of the data available and the organisation(s) involved
• Have experience of working with large datasets that were not generated for research purposes and require extensive mapping and manipulation
• Are happy to undertake routine tasks, such as checking and cleaning datasets; matching and coding of datasets; and general descriptive statistics
• Pay uncompromising attention to accuracy and detail; and are skilled in identifying data challenges and limitations early in the process wherever possible
• In addition, it would be an advantage to have experience of working with deprivation/disadvantage metrics used in research relating to education and employment (e.g. Index of Multiple Deprivation and HESA measures)

Interpreting and presenting findings

• Have excellent interpersonal and teamworking skills, allowing you to collaborate with colleagues on research tasks and a broad understanding of qualitative research approaches so you can work alongside qualitative researcher colleagues to synthesise quantitative and qualitative findings

• Have completed a postgraduate research degree (or have equivalent professional experience).
