The Felix Project is a dynamic, ambitious charity working to make London a city where no one goes hungry and good food is never wasted.  

We rescue high quality, fresh and nutritious food that cannot be sold from over 300 suppliers including supermarkets, wholesalers, farms, restaurants, and delis.  We sort and deliver this food to charities, schools and community projects supporting London’s most vulnerable people.  
Last year, we rescued over 13.4K tonnes of food and redistributed it to over 1000 frontline community organisations and 170 primary schools in every borough of London. That’s enough food to make more than 32 million meals.     

The Felix Project is growing fast in response to huge demand. Set up in 2016, we now have 179 staff working alongside 15,000 volunteers. We have four main operating depots spread across London - in Deptford, Enfield, Park Royal and Poplar, a commercial kitchen and point to point collection green scheme operating in central London and Canary Wharf.

The role:
This is a newly created role at The Felix Project to support the growing Philanthropy and Special Events function which, in 2024, is set to raise £1mn.

This role is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of philanthropy at The Felix Project as we look to grow our income from individuals and major donors. You will develop a strong fundraising pipeline that will ensure the team can reach their long-term targets. You’ll provide insights into new areas of prospecting to continually replenish the pipeline with high-capacity prospects in order to meet current and future income targets. 

Your natural curiosity will lead you to identify new opportunities using a variety of online sources in combination with The Felix Project’s existing database (Microsoft Dynamics), and you will be able to articulate your recommendations to fundraisers in a concise and compelling way.

JOB SUMMARY

The post holder will managing and lead the effective high quality delivery of the Grief Encounter therapeutic services, including online services, through a team of Therapists, Clinical Supervisors, placement students and volunteers.

They will assist the Director of Clinical Services (DCS) in implementing and developing the therapeutic element including intensive therapeutic support, projects, budgets and service planning. This will include:

• Leading, implementing and developing therapeutic projects and service planning.
• Managing Grief Encounter therapists, supervisors, volunteers and placement students.
• Conducting assessments with families, supporting practitioners with complex cases in liaison with supervisors and delivering training.
• Ensuring appropriate safeguarding policies and guidance are being adhered to across all services, responding to safeguarding concerns and ensuring practitioners understand their safeguarding responsibilities.
• Working with the Bereavement Support Team to ensure the efficient and appropriate management of referral pathways.

In this exciting role you will be responsible for implementing the charity’s Individual Giving, Legacy and In Memory fundraising programmes (target of £1.3m in 2024). You will manage a team of up to two with the support from the Head of Fundraising, with whom you will work closely with to develop a series of targeted multi-channelled appeals and campaigns to engage with existing supporters and to attract, recruit and retain new ones.

You will be confident in handling and interrogating data, utilising your experience to deliver insight led creative campaigns across several channels. You will use data to test and learn through the delivery of persuasive and compelling appeals and campaigns - aiming to grow supporter loyalty and inspire repeat donations.

The delivery of exceptional supporter care and stewardship is paramount in this role, the post holder will require excellent communication skills to help deepen engagement strategies with supporters and work with an ambitious, positive, and creative approach - with experience in working collaboratively organisation wide.

Key responsibilities
Planning and implementation
• Increase individual gifts through enhancing the supporter donor journey.
• Develop new individual giving appeals and campaigns with a focus on direct marketing across various channels to engage with new and existing supporters to generate new income.
• Working with the communications team to design a multi-channelled approach to maximise the reach to the appropriate audiences.
• Develop the required tools and mechanisms to ensure ease of engagement.
• Design and implement a stewardship programme that cultivates long term support across all fundraising streams.
• Work across teams to raise the profile of the charity and its appeals and fundraising activities.

• Develop new ideas and initiatives to bolster individual giving.
• Grow in memoriam donations through selected partnerships and long-term relationships that raise the profile of Kidney Care UK within the sector.

Donor data analysis and segmentation
Analyse and segment the supporter base to develop targeted supporter journeys and ask strategies, using donor data from our CRM to:
• Maximise the lifetime value of donors.
• Ensure effective use of supporter data for campaign purposes.
• Manage a continuous cycle of testing for new channels and techniques for acquisition and retention, based on audience insight and sector trends.
• Work with the Head of Fundraising to produce regular feedback reports and analysis.
• Ensure all activities and contacts are managed through the charity’s CRM system.
• Maximise gift aid opportunities.

Stewardship and donor engagement
Manage donor stewardship to provide personalised and engaging communications, including:
• Managing the production of supporter materials.
• Building a thanking programme that offers a personal and engaging donor experience.
• Collaborating with colleagues to identify individual stories for impactful campaign content.

Competencies: knowledge, skills and experience

• Experience of income generation from direct marketing campaigns (acquisition and/or retention) across a variety of digital channels for acquisition and retention.
• Experience of project management to deliver acquisition or retention campaigns within agreed timescales and budgets.
• Experience of using databases for targeting, segmentation, testing and response analysis and how to apply these learnings to future campaigns.

We Are Survivors are looking for a Service Manager to come and join its Community Services Team to cover Maternity Leave.

About the role

We are now recruiting a knowledgeable and experienced Climate Resilience Programme Manager to continue leading our climate action strategy. The purpose of the role is to bring climate change expertise to grow, strengthen, deepen, and diversify our innovative programme portfolio, continue to minimise the negative environmental impacts of all of our programmes, and deepen our carbon emissions reduction strategy as we continue to expand the reach and impact of our organisation.

You will build strong partnerships by working closely alongside our local partners in programme design, technical knowledge, implementation and monitoring. It is anticipated that the post will include 3-4 overseas trips per annum.

The role affords huge scope for personal development, with the flexibility and autonomy needed to shape this critical area of programming. You should have:

• Experience in the climate resilience sector and demonstrable knowledge of how to build and manage climate resilience programmes

About this key role

Haven House Children's Hospice supports hundreds of families, looking after children and young people who have life-limiting or life-threatening conditions. Their mission is to provide the highest quality palliative and holistic care services to children and their families in their local communities.

The Role

The Individual Giving Manager will play a vital role in fundraising activities to support our mission of providing care and support to children with life-limiting conditions and their families. As the Individual Giving Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to engage individual donors and supporters, cultivating meaningful relationships, and maximising their financial contributions.

At Haven House the focus within the Income Generation and Marketing Team is to put the supporter and donor at the centre of everything we do, ensuring they feel inspired by our work and the children and families we support; engaged and committed to our cause and ultimately make a commitment to do something amazing.

Responsibilities:

• To create and execute strategies to cultivate and grow individual giving income, including donor acquisition, retention, and stewardship programmes.
• To build strong relationships with individual donors and prospects through personalised communication, engagement events, and donor recognition initiatives.
• To coordinate all aspects of direct mail appeals and online fundraising to maximise donor engagement and revenue generation.
• To utilise Raiser's Edge database to track donor interactions, segment audiences, and analyse fundraising performance to inform decision-making.
• To oversee all income processing; some processes are the responsibility of the Individual Giving Manager, others are carried out by the Database Manager and the Community & Events team.
• To work closely with the Digital Fundraising Manager and Marketing team to develop campaign objectives, messaging, stewardship plans and marketing strategies.
• To set up and undertake monitoring and evaluation reporting to assess campaign performance against agreed objectives and ensure these insights inform future decision making.
• To lead on the Local Hospice Lottery, including strategic aspects of the Lottery to drive the growth of membership, monitoring membership progress and trends, and to resolve issues with the general public with regards to complaints

• Experience of managing a range of projects or campaigns at any one time
• Knowledge and experience of managing budgets and delivering financial results against agreed objectives, targets and timescales
• Knowledge and understanding of Individual Giving fundraising
• Knowledge and understanding of the importance of donor care
• High standard of copy writing
• Track record of communicating with supporters by telephone and through written communications
• Experience of devising stewardship plans to maximise income and engagement

Marketing and Communications Manager – Remote

As the Poppy Appeal Manager in South East London, your main role is to achieve income, expenditure, and contribution targets, ensuring the success of the appeal. Collaborating with the Regional Poppy Appeal Manager, you will create and manage an income and expenditure budget, providing monthly commentary. Your responsibilities include to coordinating local supporters, partners, and volunteers, building relationships to maximise fundraising potential.

We are now looking for our next hire - an experienced Operations Manager - to help us support our ambitious plans.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This newly created role will be responsible for defining, shaping and implementing key processes and systems related to programme management, and overall business operations including finance. These processes will enable us to streamline our business and support the needs of our companies programmes and funding requirements.

In addition, this role will be responsible for overseeing our facilities management and internal operations to ensure we are compliant and have H&S at the heart of everything we do.

What you will be responsible for:

• Be responsible for all aspects of the management, development and maintenance of SCA Port Hope building, site and its external premises. 

• Ensure statutory inspections and routine checks on health and safety and security are scheduled, undertaken, accurately recorded and, where appropriate, and reported in a timely fashion. This includes fire and security alarm systems and equipment, any others that are relevant. 

• Liaise with relevant authorities in the management of the site and buildings eg the Environment Agency, Birmingham City Council etc as required. 

• Manage the provision of services eg insurance and utilities, working with the Executive Director to undertake due diligence and secure competitive quotes. 

• Oversee the company’s compliance with all legislative and contractual requirements. 

• Commission and manage relationships with all contractors working within the buildings and external premises, including maintenance as required.

• Plan the delivery of all capital works to the building with the production manager (funding pending) 

• Act as a key-holder and be on call should issues occur out of hours. 

• Ensure procedures and processes are followed to protect the security of the buildings and site. 

• Work with the freelance staff to ensure they have the appropriate training on Health and Safety, First Aid, Manual handling etc. 

• Prepare required reports and recommendations for Team, Board and funders as required. 

• Manage operational contracts such as refuse collection, etc.

• Lead on the organisation’s Health and Safety Strategy, including provision of adequate first aid and fire safety. 

• Oversee and ensure implementation and communication of site and operational risk assessments.

• Ensure compliance with all legal obligations and licensing requirements including: Public Entertainment, Health and Safety, PAT testing etc. 

• Take a lead on SCA environmental responsibility, ensuring SCA seeks to reduce its carbon footprint and we operate as efficiently as possible, including waste disposal, disposal of used areosols, recycling schemes and reporting of such to funders. 

• Advance planning of production schedules in conjunction with the Studio Assistant to ensure that events can be set up in good time.

• Ability to support a variety of configurations of our multi-purpose space with some basic technical knowledge.  Specialist training will be provided.  This will include audio visual display equipment, basic sound systems, setting up multi party Zooms, seating and desk configuration.

ABOUT YOU:

• Experience of managing the maintenance and operation of buildings. 

• Knowledge of safety and workplace legislation and experience of managing and delivering a policy and activity eg risk assessment writing and review. 

• Experience of setting and managing budgets and financial projections to ensure best use of resources through prioritisation and planning. 

• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload. 

• Self-motivated, practical and flexible with a positive outlook and can-do attitude. 

• IT literate, with experience in using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook. 

• Interest and/or experience in technical delivery 

• Willingness to be part of an on-call rota, and to work flexible hours including some evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.

DESIRABLE SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:

• Health and Safety qualification (IOSH / NCRQ / NEBOSH). 

• Previous experience of managing building management systems. 

• Experience of managing small scale capital projects including financial, operational and health and safety requirements. 

• An understanding of fire safety. 

• An understanding of accident and incident management reporting.
