The role of Legal Assistant reports to the Director of Legal & Governance and you will assist them in ensuring the legal function of the organisation runs efficiently and smoothly by providing a range of support, including preparing various legal documents such as grants and service agreements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal and legal requirements and working closely with colleagues across the organisation.

You will contribute to the smooth functioning of legal processes and ensure that colleagues and external stakeholders receive an efficient service.

PROJECT MANAGER
THE ABBEY OF ST EDMUND: A MILLENNIUM OF ENGLISH HISTORY IN WEST SUFFOLK

Thanks to National Lottery players, St Edmundsbury Cathedral, in partnership with West Suffolk Council and English Heritage, has received a Development Phase grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund to conserve the Abbey of St Edmund ruins, deliver universal access through a network of footpaths, and build a heritage welcome centre within a line of listed buildings facing the town’s public space.

We are now looking for a Project Manager to co-ordinate and assist in the management of the development phase, which will last until February 2026. If we are successful in our delivery phase application, the role will continue for a further three years. We’re looking for someone with:

• Similar project management experience, at a comparable level of cost and complexity, especially working on Heritage Fund projects.

• Experience of working on projects with complex structures (we have three project partners: St Edmundsbury Cathedral, English Heritage and West Suffolk Council).
• A good understanding of audiences for heritage to enable activity planning and audience development to take place alongside the capital and design works.

Flexible working, but must be on site at least 2 days a week.

The primary focus of the role is the day-to-day management of various donor contracts which have a learning and research focus. These contracts currently include both governmental and private foundation contracts. The Programme Manager will oversee the delivery of programmes, coordinating budgets, workplans, consultant management, and administration.

The Programme Manager will be assisted in this by a Project Officer, and will work closely with the Operations Manager, to whom they will report (currently based in the UK). The Programme Manager will work closely with teams of consultants based globally, research institutions also based globally, and also liaise with the Gender and Social Development Head of Practice (currently based in the UK).

In this role you will provide operational line management and support, to staff who work with and help our members, and all callers, whether self-referred or referred by other charities, or statutory agencies, ensuring that we continue to provide the highest quality of services and facilities at all times.

You will have: 

• Extensive experience of working in a charity / community development and / or social care setting, at Team Leader, or Assistant Manager level;
• Clear understanding and confidence of the role and responsibilities of a service manager, within the sector:
• Similar knowledge and skills in regard to the application of relevant structures, policies, procedures and regulatory standards (such as ‘Safeguarding’, Data Protection’, ‘Charity Commission’ requirements, etc);
• Proven ability to effectively manage, motivate and develop a skilled staff team and our volunteers. And effectively deliver and oversee appraisals and relevant training for staff and volunteers;
• Proven ability to manage and resolve complaints and enquiries, whether from staff, ICS Members, or from the public;
• Your hours will be flexible, with the understanding that you will be required to work occasional ‘unsocial hours’ (evenings / weekends), to provide support to funding and social events;
• We do provide technology and support to allow occasional ‘working from home’.

• Design & deliver engagement and communications initiatives e.g. Fellows newsletters, regular and tailored touch-points

• Understand & facilitate value-add connections and opportunities e.g. connections to mentors, experts, funders 

• Design & deliver community initiatives that extend connection, knowledge and skills e.g. running in-person events, online workshops

• Design & deliver engaging communication campaigns that amplify and elevate the impact of Fellows e.g. writing case studies, blog posts, social media, public newsletters

• Track & evaluate the engagement and effectiveness of support initiatives e.g. feedback loops, data collection, impact reporting

• Build & manage partnerships with external partners e.g. event partners, media outlets

Growing Hope is a charity providing free therapy for children and young people with additional needs in partnership with local churches across the UK. We aim to grow hope for children, hope for families and hope in Jesus. Growing Hope was founded in December 2017 and has a vision to see 20 clinics set up across the UK by 2030. Job Purpose 
Growing Hope is a national charity with a growing number of clinics across the UK. This operations role will provide support across the Growing Hope national staff team. This will include support with administration, finance, fundraising and training. This role is key in enabling all the functions of the national charity to run smoothly and effectively. The role will be based in King’s Cross with occasional events outside of the office.

Main Duties and Responsibilities 
Duties and responsibilities will be discussed and developed as the charity continues to grow. It is anticipated that this time will be flexible and adjusted according to the needs and priorities at the time. Specifically the role with include: 

IT administration

• Administration of IT systems, logins and spreadsheets for the team, volunteers, staff and freelancers (keeping these up to date and amending systems as required).
• Ordering and setting up IT hardware and software for individuals joining the team.
• Oversight of IT systems used by Growing Hope including ticket tailor, jot form, mail chimp, Microsoft office, google adverts and tracking. Supporting with problem solving when issues arise. 
• Overseeing and training others in Canopy (clinic administration software) and helping support and problem solve with using this. This includes liaising with a freelance software developer to manage the development project.

HR administration

• Oversight of the recruitment checking process for new volunteers, trustees, freelancers and employees. This includes carrying out DBS checks, calling referees, chasing for references and communicating with individuals as they start with Growing Hope.
• Management of the ‘internal news’ list in order to track individuals working closely with the charity. 
• Writing, drafting and sending out HR letters, contracts and contract variations. 
• Organising internal events on behalf of the team including away days, training days and ad hoc events. 
• Organising online training as required for members of the Growing Hope team.

Office Support

• Overseeing the day to day office and building use including the alarm, maintenance visits, wifi, printer and other equipment. This includes liaising with other individuals who have office use.
• Liaising with the Director of Operations around the use of the office.
• Ordering office supplies as required, ensuring office space and storage is kept organised. 
• Supporting with external events planning including finding venues, sponsorship and items needed.
• Ordering equipment as required across the team.
• Ad hoc tasks as required across the team. 

Volunteer admin support

• Processing volunteer applications and induction as required. 
• Oversight of volunteers using the office space on a day to day basis. Including allocating volunteer tasks and explaining and supporting with these as required. 
• Managing volunteer IT access. 

General 

• Sending letters and emails and making phone calls as required.
• Logging all actions on Salesforce database.
• Maintain data protection & confidentiality in line with Growing Hope’s policy.
• Ensure adherence to Safeguarding and wider Growing Hope policies.
• Actively contributing to staff prayer meetings and upholding Growing Hope’s Christian values.

Person Specification 
The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in working in the charity sector, an interest in additional needs and inclusion are highly desirable.

The Advice Service Manager is responsible for all advice team operations and developing the Kinship advice pathway.

You’ll manage a team to deliver a consistent, high quality and effective service. You’ll be responsible for developing and implementing systems and monitoring service quality and performance.

Continuously improving the service, embracing digital solutions and creating efficiencies and processes to drive performance, you’ll increase our ability to provide more support to kinship carers across England and Wales.

You’ll ensure that kinship carers are able to access the information and advice they need in an accessible and consistent way within a clear operational framework.

Key responsibilities include:

• Deliver high quality, targeted and tailored advice to kinship carers in England and Wales.
• Develop a service framework that delivers a consistent service within clear timeframes.
• Set out clear expectations for enquiry response across all channels.

• Act as deputy designated safeguarding officer (DDSO) providing clear advice on actions needed when safeguarding concerns are raised.

You will immerse yourself in the different spaces and meet the teams across London, and help share and tell the story of the charity. They are looking for a communications expert, who has developed strategies previously, and who are passionate about the arts, media and creative industries.

The role can be offered as either part-time or full-time.

The charity operates as a solution for otherwise vacant property, through charitable occupation. This can range from short term 18 months to 3 years or longer term 3 – 10 years. They currently have over 500 affordable artist workspaces, and 5 project spaces where they provide a programme of arts and educational events.

• Salary £35,000 – £39,000 pro rata

• Benefits: Holiday Entitlement (as well as Christmas period and bank holidays), Pension Scheme (you can opt out if you wish to). Commitment to your development, with quarterly meetings to discuss ongoing progress, address issues and revaluate objectives.

• Working either 3, 4 or 5 days per week.
• Initial 6 month rolling contract, with the view to going permanent.
• Location: Flexible working from home, and from their London office spaces. Predominantly in Peckham and Woolwich.
• Expectation to attend 4 or more events per month outside of working hours.

Centre Manager – Day Care Centres 

Age UK Camden Day Care Centres are looking to recruit a skilled and experienced Day Care Centre Manager for our centre – Great Croft, for older people in Camden –  based in Kings Cross. (You will also work at our other Centre – Henderson Court based in Hampstead as required) 

Our Centres provide a wide range of activities as well as being a specialist Day Care Centres caring for older people with complex needs. The Day Care Centres also provide a hot lunch and a range of special events. 

We have a dedicated, specialist team supporting people with care needs, including those living with mild - moderate dementia and complex needs. 

The successful candidate will: 

• Take leadership responsibility (reporting to the General Manager Day Care Services) for the development and implementation of a comprehensive service of care and support for service users making it relevant for the community that it serves. 

• Oversee that older people will have their assessed needs, preferences and choices met by skilled and experienced staff operating within clear, agreed and ethical care plans. 

• Represent Age UK Camden and the views of the service users externally, promote partnerships and community involvement 

Salary: P02 SCP 30-33 £38,936.70 to £41,961.98 pa incl. London Weighting for 35 hpw (plus 6% contributory pension scheme) and 27 days annual leave rising to 32 days after 5 years service.

The Fundraising Manager will be responsible for meeting income targets through a range of income streams including, community/events fundraising, grants/trusts and developing other key income streams such as major donors, regular giving, and gift in wills. A further key part of the role will be to recruit volunteers to build capacity within the fundraising team, typically recruiting volunteers to support with challenge and fundraising events.

Key responsibilities will include;

• Providing insight in to the development of the fundraising and volunteering strategy and delivering on the strategy targets.
• Leading on the recruitment of volunteers with a focus on volunteers for fundraising and youth engagement
• Managing, supporting, and developing imaginative fundraising activities, some of which will be event based.
• Working closely with the Head of Supporter Services with the development of the supporter and corporate income streams, regular giving programme, a gifts-in-wills plan and contribute to bid writing for grant/trust applications.
• Inspiring new supporters to raise income, while maintaining and developing relationships with existing supporters.

This would be a wonderful opportunity for a fundraiser with experience across two or more income streams and a good understanding of volunteers.

• The ability to plan, monitor and evaluate services, to ensure that they are responsive to the needs of the clients, meet the purpose they have been commissioned for and fulfil the service specification.

• Relationship Building: Ability to build strong and enduring relationships with a range of partners.
• Trust Building: Ability to rapidly form and sustain trusting relationships with service users/carers and other peer support workers and professionals.
• Budget Management: Experience working within agreed budgets and managing resources effectively.
