You will bring a strong understanding of the communications challenges that charities face as well as demonstrable expertise in training for charities, innovative programme design, securing grant income and other forms of funding, and working with multiple stakeholders.
This role would suit someone with deep knowledge and experience of the UK charity sector combined with a strong interest in the latest media and communications trends and applications.

About Media Trust
At Media Trust, we believe it’s by giving everyone a voice that we’ll get to a more equal society. That’s why we work with charities to strengthen their storytelling, advocacy and campaigning, press engagement and social media. We do this through media, communications and digital skills training delivered with our media and creative industry partners and by matching charities looking for content creation and other media-related support with media industry volunteers looking to give back. At the same time, our programmes for underrepresented talent are giving young and diverse talent the creative media skills, access and mentoring to break into the media.
Key responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategies and new initiatives to drive growth and innovation in the range of charity programmes we currently provide, drawing on sectoral insights and taking a user-led approach as much as possible.
- Programme Oversight & Line Management: Manage the delivery to a very high standard of all our charity capacity-building and training programmes, including being a highly effective line manager for our team of dedicated programme managers.
- Grant Writing and Income Generation: Develop proposals to secure new and repeat funding support for Media Trust's charity programmes and lead the development team in meeting income targets through paid for training for clients including charities and funders.
- Partnership Development: Forge effective partnerships with relevant stakeholders including other charities, infrastructure bodies like NCVO and ACEVO as well as delivery partners including Equally Ours and Climate Outreach, government bodies, and trusts and foundations.
- Representation: Represent Media Trust at charity sector conferences and other events and on social media, to raise awareness about Media Trust and our work.
What we are looking for in you
- Senior Leadership Experience: Proven track record of senior leadership in the charity sector, ideally at an infrastructure or membership organisation, including line management experience and responsibility for managing programme delivery and budgets.
- Training & Capacity Building Programme Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in designing, delivering and measuring the impact of training and other capacity-building programmes for charities and under-represented communities.
- Business Development: Demonstrated expertise in designing and pitching for paid for training and other services.
- Grant Writing Experience: Strong grant writing skills with a successful history of securing funding from diverse sources including government grants, trusts and foundations, and corporates.
- Charity Sector Knowledge: A strong understanding of the communications challenges charities are facing and what interventions are working/not working.
- Knowledge of Media & Comms Trends and Applicability to Charities: Knowledge of the latest media and communications trends and how we can work with our industry partners to ensure charities are using emerging platforms, applications, etc.
- Confidence in Public Speaking & Using Social Media: Experience of speaking at conferences and other public events and facilitating training for large groups. You will also be confident about using your social media profile to raise awareness about Media Trust and our work.
- Outstanding Communication Skills: Very strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively, with the ability to adapt tone and approach for different stakeholders.

About MediCinema
MediCinema is a unique national, UK registered charity that improves the wellbeing and enriches the quality of life of NHS patients, their families and carers through the power of the shared cinema experience and the magic of film. We achieve this by building and running cinemas in hospitals and places of care equipped with space for beds, wheelchairs and medical equipment, and providing free films and activities for patients of all ages. Our services help to improve emotional, mental and physical health, reducing isolation, anxiety and stress, and increasing patient resilience to help them cope with what they’re going through.
Our purpose-built in-hospital cinemas are designed to accommodate patients in hospital beds and wheelchairs, on drips or with monitors. Patients are looked after by trained volunteers who accompany them to and from the cinemas, and by two nurses who are present at each inpatient screening. In addition to our regular inpatient screenings, in 2023 we introduced new Tailored Screenings for specific patient communities, working closely with the patients and clinical teams to co-design experiences that meet the specific needs of each group. We also routinely hold personal screenings for patients who are unable to mix with other patients, are receiving palliative care or are in other sensitive situations. Through our long-standing strategic partnership with Disney, we also design and provide activities on wards and in the MediCinemas as part of our ‘Moments that Matter’ (MTM) programme.

Alder Hey Children’s Charity
We are working in partnership with Alder Hey Children’s Charity to bring a brand new MediCinema to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in 2024. The Alder Hey Cinema Manager will be an employee of MediCinema, but the role will be funded by Alder Hey Children’s Charity.
Alder Hey Children’s Charity raises vital funds to help make Alder Hey Children’s Hospital a truly world-class, patient-friendly hospital for the 450,000 patients and families they care for every year.
The charity helps to fund a range of activities and projects that are designed to enhance and improve the lives of their amazing young patients. This includes the funding of specialist medical equipment to ensure brilliant surgeons and clinical staff have the most up to date and cutting edge technology available and funding hi-tech distraction equipment designed and proven to reduce pain and anxiety for young patients. They also fund a range of programmes and special projects such as ward musicians, their on-site magician and the play specialists they have on every ward.
The Role
We are looking for a Cinema Manager to build and run our brand new service at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
The post-holder will build their team of nurses and volunteers and will work closely with them, the hospital, and with central office operations team to prepare for and run successful film screenings each week.
We will run four regular inpatient screenings each week – exact times and dates to be agreed with all stakeholders, but will include evenings and weekends. There will also be a programme of additional Tailored and Personal screenings on top of these four regular inpatient screenings.
The role offers a unique, exciting and extremely rewarding opportunity for someone interested in a service delivery role at the heart of our charity, involving direct contact with the patients and families we support.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
The role of the Cinema Manager is essential to ensure the effective delivery of our service. Based at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital the role is responsible for all operational aspects of the service. This includes ensuring screenings happen on schedule and as planned, recruiting and managing volunteers and nurses, and developing links with hospital staff to ensure the service is widely advertised and utilised.
The position would be part of the larger cinema managers team (all of whom operate remotely at various hospital sites) and report to the National Cinema Manager who is based in our central office in London. This position would suit someone who is self-motivated, wants a varied and interesting role and has an interest in film, healthcare and helping to improve people’s wellbeing.
Service Delivery
- Deliver a programme of screenings each week as agreed according to the operating procedures of a MediCinema, including running and managing screenings on your own. Most screenings are held in the evenings so the role requires regular evening working.
- Be responsible for:
- Marketing the service throughout the hospital, organising collecting and returning patients, and for safety and care in the cinema itself.
- Taking responsibility for health and safety of patients coming to the cinema, and the safety and appearance of the cinema space itself.
- Preparing and operating the digital projection equipment for the screening, ensuring that films are screened to the highest technical standards at all times. Training and ongoing technical support will be provided for this.
- Ensuring that all operational, welfare and safeguarding policies set out by MediCinema are followed accordingly and that, where appropriate, consent forms are obtained for photographic or filmed records.
- Ensuring that all aspects of the operation comply with relevant health and safety legislation, and that areas where MediCinema might be in breach of such are dealt with immediately or brought to the attention of the appropriate authorities for rectification.
- Keeping accurate monitoring and operational records, including contacts and database updating as required
- Collate, analyse and report back on agreed metrics and KPI’s
- Support with arranging and running any special events and special screenings
- When required, arrange and run additional personal screenings for patients unable to attend regular screenings, plus special tailored screenings with particular hospital departments and patient groups.
- Manage the local roll out of any new type of screenings we embark on, such as our Applied Screening initiative.
- Support the delivery of our complementary bedside services, such as our Disney ‘Moments that Matter’ work.
Nurse & Volunteer Management
- Build, manage and support the team of nurses and volunteers to assist in the duties outlined above and to ensure that screenings run safely and smoothly – this will include managing recruitment and creating monthly rotas.
Marketing and Relationship Management
- Be proactive in marketing the service within the hospital, and building key relationships with hospital staff and our partner Alder Hey Children’s Charity.
- Develop and manage effective partnerships throughout the hospital and community.
- Represent the organisation effectively and compellingly at all times.
- Support the programming and development of the MediCinema as a centre for entertainment, being pro-active in developing a creative programme of sustainable events at each site. This could include supporter events, live performance and other relevant activities.
Administration and other duties
- Provide holiday or emergency screening cover when required.
- Manage the collection, loading and returning of films.
- Champion the work of MediCinema within the hospital and cinema environment, as well as confidently and positively representing MediCinema in all interactions and at any meetings and events.
- Contribute to the strategic development of the MediCinema at Alder Hey, operations and MediCinema as a wider organisation
- Communicate effectively with all team members, ensuring an inclusive and whole organisation approach
- Undertake other tasks, projects and duties as reasonably required.
MediCinema is a small team and staff members are expected to support each other and share cross-organisational work in addition to fulfilling individual responsibilities.
The Person
We are looking for a high energy, enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who is passionate about helping people and delivering impactful and effective services. They should be a warm, welcoming and positive person who can demonstrate the following skills and qualities:
- Strong organisational skills with a good attention to detail.
- A proactive, resourceful, problem-solving approach.
- An ability to work both on their own and as part of a team.
- Experience in using IT and an ability to quickly learn and understand new systems and technology. Please note full training on ingesting films and running the projection equipment will be provided so direct projection experience, while beneficial, is not required.
- Excellent communication skills and an ability to caringly and openly relate to and build relationships with a wide variety of people, from children, family members, volunteers and centre staff.
- Flexibility and adaptability, and enjoyment of a working environment where no two days are the same.
- Demonstrate tact and sensitivity when dealing with people with a variety of needs and be aware of issues relating to confidentiality and safeguarding.
- Interest in healthcare, wellbeing and/or film & cinema.
- A sense of humour and congenial demeanour to help patients and families feel at ease and enjoy their MediCinema experience.

We are seeking a Mission Enabler, Regional Mission to work in partnership with key staff across the Movement. They will provide direction and energy to Scripture Union’s Regional Ministry with a focus on establishing and sustaining ministry opportunities. · Identify, recruit and support Faith Guides, volunteers and Local Mission Partners (LMPs) through a range of methods, including electronic, phone and face to face.

· Lead local mission activity within Scripture Union’s mission framework, establishing a clear hand-over process and timetable to local church partners.
· Pioneer new approaches/ideas in line with SU’s strategy that have the potential to be replicated elsewhere and lead to a greater scale and depth of mission activity.
· Support, by promotion or direct involvement, SU’s wider programme of holidays and missions across England and Wales and, if appropriate, internationally.

The Corporate Partnerships Manager will support KSS's fundraising with corporate partners, businesses, and business-related organisations across all regions (Kent, Surrey and Sussex). The role will help to drive current activity towards its full potential and find ways to grow corporate fundraising through strong relationship management and stewardship.
Main Responsibilities:
- Effectively manage corporate relationships to ensure that these organisations are well nurtured and supported, and that they receive adequate recognition for their contribution towards KSS's continued operation.
- To retain all corporate partners where possible and increase income from our current donors year on year. By having a 12-month plan for key partners and a plan/journey for how to elevate low level donors.
- To create collateral and fundraising mechanisms to support the 12-month plan in Canva and with the assistance of the marcomms team such as: fundraising calendar, flyers for events, t-shirts, seasonal fundraisers e.g. at Easter Guess the eggs in the jar.
- For key partners create a yearly 1 pager impact report of their donation and a more general report for other partners.
- To plan and deliver at least two networking/stewardship events a year at Redhill and Rochester for current donors with the support of the events team where required.
- Oversee all day-to-day activity with our corporate relationships, ensuring that activity is effectively coordinated and that broader teams support delivery (e.g. volunteer development, events and supporter experience).
- Proactively research and recommend opportunities for KSS to increase the value of corporate relationships including (but not limited to) donations, staff fundraising, payroll giving and participation in events.
- To own and manage the monthly visits to Redhill and to plan visits for key partners separately to these days.
- To be responsible for and own the sponsorship budget sourcing sponsorship for KSS events from existing donors and new donors.
- Support colleagues with seeking corporate sponsorship and involvement in KSS owned events.
About you:
- Experience of providing excellent customer service to a portfolio of customers, donors, stakeholders or corporates.
- Experience of writing cases for support, producing fundraising materials and creating account plans.
- Adaptable, tactful and diplomatic when speaking with members of the public or corporate supporters.
- Ability to work outside of core hours including weekends as and when required.
- Display a keen interest in the work that KSS does, and come up with ways to support activities.

We are looking for an empathetic self-starter to become our new Legacy Manager. This is a varied role, where you will be working with the Head of Individual Giving & Legacies to plan and manage the full breadth of a small legacy programme, which has huge ambition for growth.
You will be managing our legacy marketing programme; maximising the opportunities available to encourage supporters, and potential supporters to leave a gift in their Will, so that we can help more young people in the future. This currently includes a series of in-person legacy events at our centres as well as developing and delivering training to colleagues, so they are confident in promoting legacy giving to supporters they work with.
You will be the internal lead for legacy administration, working alongside our in-house legal team and our external legacy administration agency, to ensure that all estates are correctly administered, and that we realise the full value of the legacies left to The Trust. You will be working with supporters to answer their questions about legacy giving, and working with the next of kin to ensure that their loved one’s legacy is cherished.

Fowler’s Syndrome UK (Registered Charity number 1196903) is a unique patient and clinician led charity that works to raise awareness, promote education and encourage research into the debilitating bladder condition Fowler’s Syndrome. The condition solely affects women and Fowler’s Syndrome UK (FSUK) is the only charity in the world to directly support women with this condition.
Fowler’s syndrome is a life changing and currently almost untreatable condition, affecting up to 20,000 women in the UK. It causes full or partial urinary retention and solely affects women*, meaning they have problems passing urine due to a difficulty in relaxing the urinary sphincter. The peak age of onset is 26. It was first described by Professor Clare Fowler, Emeritus professor of Uro-Neurology at UCLh, and FSUK’s patron, in 1985.
We estimate that there are in excess of 20,000 women in the UK suffering from, but not necessarily diagnosed with, the condition, because of the lack of knowledge about Fowler’s Syndrome both from a patient and clinician perspective.
85% of women with Fowler’s Syndrome say the condition has had a severe or devastating impact on their life.
75% of those with FS have been told their urinary symptoms are due to anxiety or ‘all in their head’
There is low awareness of the condition among the medical community outside of specialist hospitals. Only an estimated 30% of GPs are aware of Fowler’s Syndrome. Once diagnosed, there are few resources available for patients and limited treatment options. Many women feel alone and unsupported.
Our mission is to provide resources, promote education and facilitate research into Fowler’s syndrome; so women with the condition have stigma free access to a timely diagnosis, suitable and effective treatment options, care and psychological support.

The Role: Administrator
The administrator’s role is to support the CEO in the daily management of the charity. This will include administration, delivering resources, comms including social media and website, outreach and events, fundraising and research. Job Description

We have recently closed our Surgical Neonatal Appeal, having successfully raised our £3m target towards a brand new, state of the art Surgical Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the hospital. This year we will be fundraising towards a new Same Day Emergency Care Centre, providing an unrivalled experience for our patients and their families.
About this role:
This is a new and exciting opportunity for a Philanthropy Assistant to join the Charity team here at Alder Hey, the UK’s busiest Children’s Hospital. The postholder will work closely with the Philanthropy Support Lead to provide operational support and administration for the team, including events, donor meetings and visits, prospect research, data and use of the charity CRM (Salesforce).

Key Responsibilities will include:
· Provide support for the Charity with a programme of philanthropy events; from individual visits and tours of the hospital for donors, private dinners, through to larger events such as Gala Balls.
· Build strong relationships with colleagues and clinicians in the Trust to support, coordinate and plan events.
· Liaise with venues and third-party suppliers to ensure that events are delivered to the highest standards.
· Help to prepare event briefings for Charity and Trust colleagues, so that all participants understand their role and contribute effectively.
· Provide administration support for the philanthropy team ensuring all work is of a high standard, professional and accurate.
· Writing and sending out personalised thank you letters and cards.
· Diary management, minute taking and meeting organisation.
· Keeping the charity’s supporter database accurate and up to date.
· Support with preparing data for philanthropy mailings and event lists, including recording details on Salesforce.
· Undertake prospect research, ensuring all processes are compliant with our privacy policy, data protection legislation and prospect research best practice.
· Be an active and supportive member of the Alder Hey Children’s Charity team, contributing to the team’s development and working collaboratively with colleagues and volunteers.
· Be an outstanding advocate for Alder Hey Children’s Charity in line with the core values of the organisation.
· Any other reasonable duties as required by your line manager.
The charity is currently conducting a four-day working week trial, due to end on 30th September 2024. This means that, for example, staff previously working 37.5 hours a week are now working 30 hours a week to enable a four-day working week. The trial is monitoring the benefits of a four-day working week against productivity. We are confident that by embracing a more flexible and balanced approach to work, we can continue to create a thriving and fulfilling work environment while driving growth and success for our charity. A decision will be made before the 30th September 2024 to agree the next steps, based on an assessment of the trial period; the four day working week trial may be ended, extended or adopted permanently.

As Grants & Development Officer you will work closely with the Management Team and be responsible for the successful grants and fundraising activity for core and project-based work, as well as developing new income generation opportunities.
Grants, Fundraising and Other Income Generation:
· Undertake regular prospect research to identify potential funding streams and prioritise opportunities based around local, community, and organisational need.
· Work with the Management Team, to identify, apply for and secure funding through appropriate and successful grant and tender applications.
· Maintain and strengthen relationships with current and future sponsors and supporters, including funding organisations and partners.
· Work with the Board and Management Team to help diversify our income sources to enable the organisation to continue its growth and demonstrate sustainability.
· Scope alternative / additional sources of funding, such as corporate sponsorship and membership opportunities.
· Research and develop new income generation opportunities, such as the setting up of a profit-making business(es) that donates its profit to the charity.

About the role
The NextGen Community Producer will play an integral role at Youth Music shaping and developing our support for young adults, particularly helping them to close the gap between learning and earning in music.
You’ll join us at an exciting time as we look to scale up and enhance our community engagement efforts. Building on the foundations established in phase 1 between 2021-2024, your focus will be on increasing participation, and fostering a more cohesive and active community. Your innovative strategies and passion for supporting young creatives will be key to driving deeper connections among members, and creating a compelling offer for the community.
Day-to-day you’ll be programming national events, workshops and networking opportunities; brokering progression opportunities though Youth Music’s industry partners, and recruiting to paid freelance creative roles. The job will involve managing a variety of relationships with young people, playing a central role in developing and leading the NextGen community strategy, and supporting the development of a new brand and user journey for NextGen community members.
Key responsibilities
Programme Development
- Act as the day-to-day lead and point of contact for the Youth Music NextGen Community, representing their voice internally and externally.
- Devise and implement a clear strategy for the continued growth and development of the NextGen Community, with support from the Engagement team.
- Deliver impactful programmes of activities and support that will progress young people into creative careers, broaden their networks, increase their confidence and create access to new opportunities.
- Develop and grow the NextGen Community brand and visual identity, ensuring a clear offer and user journey for those taking part in Youth Music funded projects, and other potential new members.
- Increase the role the community plays in designing and delivering the NextGen programme, aligning with Youth Music’s wider aims and values around youth voice.
- Increase interaction between NextGen Community members.
Events
- Work with the events team to develop, grow and manage our programme of regular NextGen Community events across the country to bring the community together and showcase their talent.
- Develop and manage our programme of events in London in partnership with Young Guns Network (YGN), taking place in the offices of our music industry partners.
- Grow attendance at all NextGen events, working with our Comms and Marketing team to increase awareness and build the profile of the event series.

Partnerships
- Build and leverage relationships with partners and networks to enhance the offer for the NextGen Community (such as events, performance opportunities, workshops, studio time, content creation, and exclusive offers etc).

- Build and maintain a pipeline of potential partners to approach, and support wider fundraising efforts within the team.
Recruitment
- Lead on NextGen recruitment for NextGen Community Events and the Youth Music Awards, with support from the Engagement Coordinator. e.g. Create briefs for NextGen roles and be their main point of contact.
- Support recruitment for any other Youth Music or partner opportunities created for the NextGen Community. (e.g. gigs, festivals, activations, focus groups, etc).
- Develop the NextGen talent pool, finding new ways to promote and manage this.
- Create and source relevant national music-related opportunities for Youth Music’s ‘opportunities board’.
NextGen Fund
- Support the marketing and promotion of the NextGen Fund.
- Contribute and support NextGen Fund decision panels.
- Work with our Comms team to ensure that content created through the NextGen Fund is showcased on Youth Music’s social and digital channels. E.g. Sound of the Next Generation playlist.
Demonstrate Impact
- Work with the Insights Team to listen and act on feedback from the NextGen Community. This will be via monitoring, research and consultation that informs the ongoing development and design of the NextGen offer.
- Prepare and present reports on the plans, activities and impact of NextGen Community.
- Share our learning internally and externally at panels, conferences, and through written pieces.
Systems and processes
- Capture NextGen membership on Salesforce so that we have a clear understanding of who is in our community.
- Work with the Database Administrator to improve our systems, processes and user journeys.
- Work with the Comms and Marketing team to ensure the Youth Music website represents and serves the needs of the NextGen Community.

- Proven track record of programming and managing events within budget constraints.
