Frazzled is a small mental health and wellbeing charity founded by Ruby Wax OBE, that provides a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment where people who are feeling frazzled and overwhelmed by the stresses of modern life can meet on a regular basis to talk and share their personal stories.
We run our free meetings online every single day of the year for anyone who needs them, and anyone can book and be included to talk, share, listen and to feel heard.
As part of our exciting plans for growth, we are seeking a Fundraising Lead to drive the organisation’s fundraising to fulfil our mission and play a key role in supporting the next phase of Frazzled’s growth and development.
You will be responsible for developing and delivering an ambitious fundraising strategy with a range of fundraising activities focusing primarily on trusts and foundations but also individual donors, corporate partners and fundraising campaigns.
This is an exciting, creative and flexible opportunity for the right person. The ideal candidate is someone with a demonstrable successful track record in fundraising, alongside the skills of a talented and persuasive communicator and relationship builder. They will be creative, solution focussed, willing to get stuck in and have good humour.
We would be willing to consider freelancers or contract workers for the right candidate.
MAIN TASKS
Fundraising
- Lead on developing and delivering an annual fundraising strategy to support our ambitious plans for growth, securing a minimum of £250k per year from Trusts and Foundations, individual donors, fundraising events and campaigns, and corporate partnerships.
- Research and generate a pipeline of funding applications, including multi-year grant opportunities from Trusts and Foundations
- Lead on writing compelling applications and conversations with funders, talking persuasively and informatively about Frazzled’s work and impact
- Work with the CEO and trustees to develop new relationships with individual donors and strengthen partnerships with existing supporters
- Work with the CEO and Head of Training and Programmes to develop new opportunities for corporate sponsorship and partnerships
- Lead on organising fundraising events such as dinners with major funders and initiate and develop other opportunities for fundraising.
- Lead on Frazzled’s annual Big Give Christmas Challenge campaign and identify any other fundraising campaign opportunities throughout the year, with support from the Project Support and Administration Officer
- Prepare regular reports and updates for our funders and trustees, engaging them with our work and the impact of their support
- Ensure that Frazzled’s fundraising work is GDPR compliant and meets best practice standards.
Other:
- Work with and support the Project Support and Administrative Officer in relevant fundraising tasks, delegating where appropriate.
- Participation in other projects/initiatives as required as a core member of the management team
- A willingness to engage fully with our programme to ensure the post holder can speak confidently about delivery
- Work with the CEO and team to develop innovative and compelling ways to articulate the impact Frazzled has on its community

Person Specification:
- Proven experience of successfully developing and implementing a fundraising strategy
- A demonstrable track record in writing successful funding applications and securing funds, including multi-year grants, from grant-making organisations
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills demonstrating ability to produce persuasive and compelling copy and content
- A natural relationship builder with ability to influence and negotiate at all levels
- Strategic thinker and ability to turn ideas into action
- Pragmatic, project management approach to work and ability to meet regular, competing deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail and a positive, can do attitude
- Will have attended at least two Frazzled meetings ahead of the interview to understand our approach.

About the Role
As our Executive Assistant to the Global Director of Fundraising and the COO, you will play a crucial role in supporting our global leadership team. You will manage complex diaries, handle correspondence, assist with financial processes, coordinate travel, and arrange events and meetings, both at HQ and internationally. This is a multifaceted role where you’ll be ensuring seamless operations and effective communication, helping the Directors meet their strategic objectives.
You will also assist with project administration and maintain accurate records in our systems (e.g., Salesforce), contributing to our overall operational effectiveness. You will be expected to maintain confidentiality, and work flexibly to meet the needs of the role, including occasional out-of-office support for events.
About You
To succeed in this role, you’ll need to be highly organised, with proven experience managing multiple complex schedules, and coordinating a variety of tasks, with outstanding attention to detail. You should be comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. A collaborative approach is key, as you will be working with various teams across the organization, and internationally. Strong administrative skills are essential, as well as experience supporting senior leadership. You will possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, as well as CRM systems such as Salesforce.
Flexibility is key, as the role requires occasional travel and out-of-hours support for events and meetings. A proactive, methodical, and adaptable approach to tasks is essential.

Job purpose:

Reporting to the Head of Marketing, you will help to deliver our marketing strategies and day-to-day output across our digital platforms including social media, website and e-comms and our Smile TV online viewing channel for families.
You will play a key role driving social media growth with responsibility for developing and posting creative content and managing interactions across our social media platforms, ensuring that we remain consistent in terms of brand and tone. You will have an excellent understanding of and passion for social media (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X and LinkedIn), uses, trends and development.

ABOUT US
The Brompton Fountain is the children's charity at Royal Brompton Hospital and works in partnership with the teams on the wards, the paediatric intensive care unit and in outpatient clinics. We provide a wide range of support services and vital resources for patients, families and staff, as well as funding medical equipment, accommodation and toys and entertainment for the hospital playroom. In collaboration with the hospital trust and the NHS we also fund research projects and develop new initiatives for children receiving treatment at Royal Brompton, Harefield and their network of partner hospitals.
ROLE PURPOSE
The Fundraising Officer will be a vital member of our charity team, responsible for supporting all activity across Community and Events Fundraising. They will be instrumental in achieving our income targets and growing Community and Events fundraising.
This role will focus on providing exceptional stewardship, delivering a calendar of community and events fundraising and enhancing supporter engagement. Reporting to the Head of Fundraising (HOF), you will be responsible for marketing our fundraising challenge events to ensure they provide a positive ROI. You will be a key point of contact for our fundraisers and donors as well as develop our community income stream proactively securing partnerships with (small) businesses and schools.
The ideal candidate will cultivate long-lasting relationships with individual supporters, promote fundraising and donor opportunities. You'll deliver impactful events, maintaining the highest standards of stewardship whilst being respectful of potential sensitivities particularly when working with families who are fundraising in memory. An ability to empathise and communicate effectively about our work is key.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Events Fundraising
- Assist in the planning and execution of a diverse range of fundraising events, including challenge events and community initiatives.
- Support the management of event logistics, including participant communication, volunteer coordination, and on-the-day activities.
- Work with the Head of Fundraising to ensure a minimum 3:1 Return On Investment for challenge event fundraisers.
- Collaborate with external partners and suppliers to ensure smooth event operations and build strong relationships for future collaboration.
Community Fundraising
- Lead outreach efforts to engage new local community partners, such as businesses, schools, and clubs, promoting fundraising opportunities and supporting their initiatives.
- Provide stewardship for in-memory and in-celebration fundraisers, ensuring they receive the information and support needed to maximise their fundraising potential.
- Conduct research to identify new opportunities for engagement and fundraising within local communities.
- To represent the charity as and when required in schools, engagement events and cheque presentations.
Supporter Care
- Serve as the primary point of contact for community and events fundraisers, delivering outstanding stewardship that enhances their experience with the charity.
- Provide timely and effective follow-up communications with supporters, ensuring they feel valued and engaged.
- Oversee our fundraising CRM database.
- Process cash and cheque donations ensuring this income is recorded accurately on our database.
- Maintain accurate records to track communications, income, and supporter preferences, ensuring compliance with GDPR and data protection laws.
- Continuously evaluate the supporter journey, aiming to enhance retention and engagement.
Administrative and Financial Support
- Process donations and ensure acknowledgment and thank-you communications to all supporters.
- Adhering to fundraising budgets, tracking income, and ensuring effective expenditure management.
- Manage the distribution of collection tins and buckets, conduct inventory and stock checks for fundraising materials, and ensure an organised work environment for all fundraising resources.
- Overseeing our online shop.
Marketing and Communication
- Create engaging materials and content to inspire participation in fundraising activities and distribute these to potential supporters. This could include leaflets, posters, social media posts, newsletters and impact reports.
- Ensure fundraising and associated webpages are kept up to date.
- Collate information for the HOF to support trust and foundation applications.
- Team Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with the wider team (when required) to support in-hospital events as well as assisting with tasks as needed to ensure smooth charity operations.
- Support team members (when instructed by the HOF) with ad hoc projects, activities, and any high-priority tasks to contribute to overall team objectives.
- Any other duties as required by the Head of Fundraising or CEO.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
£27000 - £29,000 FTE. This role covers 30 hours per week (4 days). A minimum of one day per week in our charity office and the remaining hours to be worked remotely which may be spread across 3-4 days depending on preference (to be discussed at interview). Occasional weekend and evening work subject to our events calendar. One-year fixed term contract however there is potential to increase working hours and / or contract length subject to performance.
A full driving licence and / or the ability to travel to events and meetings within London and the South East is essential.

The role requires successful completion of an enhanced DBS check and mandatory training including level 3 safeguarding (costs covered by charity).

How Will you Make a Difference?
The Executive Assistant (EA) will provide high-level administrative support to Amna’s CEO, Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and Board of Trustees.
