PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Brixton House is looking for an experienced, committed and highly organised Fundraising Manager. The post holder will have a central role in working with the Head of Development to secure grants from mainly trusts and foundations but will also work across other Departments to steward relationships with individual donors, support innovative digital fundraising campaigns, and assist in the delivery of targeted fundraising events.
The Development team is responsible for achieving a minimum voluntary income fundraising target of £300k, increasing over the next 2 years to £550k. Achieving these targets is central to Brixton House realising the creative ambition of our productions and performances, and to delivering our creative engagement programme in the wider community, with a particular focus on the London Borough of Lambeth.
The Fundraising Manager will report to the Head of Development and work collaboratively with colleagues and internal stakeholders across Departments to ensure there is a good fit between fundraising prospects and our programmes, and that our fundraising outputs are aligned with the vision, mission, and values of Brixton House.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Income Generation
- Working with the Head of Development to implement the Income Generation Strategy to diversify our funding, including developing and managing a pipeline of Trusts & Foundations, competitor analysis and prospect development to achieve ambitious fundraising targets.
- Drafting and completing high quality funding applications and compelling funding proposals, including strong narrative storytelling, detailed budgets and comprehensive spending plans.
- Managing relationships with grant makers, writing grant reports, ensuring that deadlines are met and that the work accurately reflects our commitment to the grant makers requirements.
- Ongoing donor relationship management, acknowledging contributions, providing written updates on projects, programme delivery, and effective stewardship to encourage repeat giving.
- Managing and responding to supporter enquiries promptly, providing them with the best experience possible to maximise fundraising opportunities, and maintaining excellent up-to-date and timely records of all fundraising activities.
- Ensuring that all fundraising activity and donor stewardship and engagement is compliant with the Fundraising Regulators Code of Practice.
- Working closely with colleagues in other Departments to gather case studies and insights which demonstrate the impact of our work.
- Working collaboratively with the Head of Development and colleagues in Productions and Programming, Creative Engagement, and Marketing and Communications to actively support opportunities for income generation including corporate funding, individual giving, partnerships, trading activities, sponsorship, contracts and community fundraising.
Data & Impact Reporting
- Extract and interpret data from our CRM system Spektrix, and other external data sources to gather and process information which strengthens the case for support, and which enhances the quality of funding applications and funding reports.
- Working closely with colleagues in other Departments to ensure our CRM system and processes collect the accurate data required to meet funder requirements.
- Working closely with colleagues in other Departments to assist in the monitoring and evaluation of funded projects, and other activities which enhance the content and quality of reports for funders, trustees, and other key stakeholders.
- Analysing and presenting data and key findings to internal and external stakeholders through clear, concise and high quality reports and presentations.
General Requirements
- Provide assistance and support to the Head of Development to ensure that fundraising targets are achieved, and the objectives of the Income Generation Strategy are fully met.

- Contribute to team meetings, develop and share best practice, and work collaboratively across the organization to build good working relationships, and provide ad-hoc support to other Departmental teams and members of staff where necessary.

The post holder should be able to demonstrate that they have skills and experience in the following areas:
Knowledge & Experience
- Proven experience of working for a charity and a clear understanding of the processes involved in securing funding through grants and donations and achieving fundraising targets.
- Demonstrable experience of writing successful grant applications and funding proposals.
- Experience of identifying sources of funding and working with colleagues to match funding opportunities to organizational projects and programmes.
- Strong understanding of the funding landscape and trends in the charity sector.

About the opportunity
Critical to our mission, we are looking to recruit a London Programme Manager to be responsible for a geographical area and the schools within it, whilst supporting geographical expansion. You will oversee your region’s Action Tutoring programmes, liaising with our partner schools and developing new school partnerships, whilst supporting your team of Programme Coordinators to engage pupils and support them to build relationships with stakeholders and retain a strong pool of tutors.
As a Programme Manager, you will line manage up to seven Programme Coordinators to ensure they effectively manage their caseload of schools, whilst driving the quality of programmes and ensuring that the delivery of programmes meets organisational KPIs. This role will take a lead on new school recruitment, regularly pitching to Senior Leaders within schools and managing school partnerships within your region to ensure Action Tutoring’s growth targets are met. Additionally, you will contribute to the wider leadership of the Action Tutoring programme team, lead on programme-specific projects to support the programme department’s priorities and will be expected to support the wider learning and development needs of the Programme Coordinator team.
The position would suit someone who enjoys working with people who have a frontline role, gets energy from pitching to schools and wants to increase their management experience in an exciting and rapidly developing charity. - Engaging with our readers and researchers to promote the use of the collections, by providing high-quality copies of archival, manuscript and printed material in digital format, for members of the public as well as staff of the National Church Institutions.
- Creating digital images for online resources, exhibitions and other forms of outreach, and digital surrogates for preservation purposes
- Providing digital copies in accordance with the copyright law and advising customers on copyright issues; processing requests for permission to use Library images.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruitment

Champion EDI across the organisation and ensure that EDI is embedded in all people related processes across the organisation.
In the event of conflict, to support both the employee and line manager by ensuring there is a process for dispute resolution that is legally compliant, and to help identify solutions.
Review and implement a plan to ensure compliance with the Worker Protection Act, to ensure that Avenues meet requirements and can demonstrate ongoing compliance.

The Society for the Protection of Animals Abroad (SPANA) is the charity for the working animals of the world. Since 1923, working through a series of global projects and partnerships across 23 low-income countries, SPANA has supported the welfare of working donkeys, horses, camels, oxen and other working animals in communities that depend on them for water, transport, agriculture, and their very survival.
Your key responsibilities include:
• Digital Programme management
• Develop, implement and optimise innovative multi-channel digital strategies that drive online visibility and performance on platforms such as web, e-mail, organic social and paid media.
• Develop, implement and optimise effective digital campaigns to target audiences to meet fundraising KPIs, enhance brand awareness and drive new leads.
• Create compelling digital content – including e-mail campaigns, landing pages, social media posts and paid media ads – ensuring assets are tailored to respective channels and target audiences.
• Implement SEO strategies to improve online visibility and drive organic growth. Ensure all digital content is SEO optimised and complies with brand guidelines.
• Manage external web agencies and oversee the development and maintenance of the SPANA website.
• Work collaboratively with the Digital Engagement Manager to build and maintain an integrated digital activity calendar, house style and overarching digital strategy.
• Lead the charge in shaping SPANA’s online presence and driving strategic online growth.
• Programme support and administration
• Work with colleagues to ensure digital activities comply with all aspects of fundraising and data regulation, including in relation to marketing preferences and GDPR.
• Provide advice and support to colleagues across SPANA on making digital activities as efficient and effective as possible in achieving strategic objectives.
• Work with the Head Marketing & Digital to set and manage annual digital budgets.
• Provide support for digital team colleagues during absences.
• Provide social media monitoring and out of hours cover where necessary.
• Stay informed of upcoming trends and developments within the field of digital marketing and make recommendations accordingly.

Welfare Benefits Advisor will
- Provide high quality Welfare Benefits advice and casework and, as appropriate, representation at the 1st Tier Tribunals for disabled individuals of the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.
- Write Mandatory Reconsideration requests and in a limited number of cases, write appeal submissions.
- Undertake direct welfare advice and casework.
- Maintain appropriate records of work undertaken using an appropriate electronic Welfare Benefits Recording and Information System via AoD’s Charity Log, and through the use of Excel
- Gather information to monitor and evaluate the service.
- Assist with funding applications / tender bids by providing basic factual information to Fund Raising Manager/CEO/Managers to enable them to apply for funding and also enable them to write funding/tender applications.
- Contribute to Welfare Benefits related publicity material, social media, reports for the Board of Trustees and other stakeholders and other documents as required.
- This post requires travel to different locations, e.g. for home visits.

ROLDA (Romanian League in Defence of Animals) is a small animal welfare charity working to improve the lives of dogs, cats, and other animals in Romania and internationally. Since its establishment in 2006, ROLDA has become a beacon of hope for the millions of vulnerable stray animals in Romania – one of Europe's economically poorest nations. Our mission is to manage the homeless animal population, estimated to be millions, through six key focuses: rescue, rehabilitation, sheltering, sterilisation, and education. Within our shelters, inspired by British kennel design and maintained to meet EU animal welfare standards, we can house up to 700 stray dogs at a time. Here, they receive complete veterinary care, rehabilitation, and preparation for rehoming. Since 2006, we have helped over 48,000 animals (primarily dogs and cats) and built two shelters for dogs and one for disabled and senior cats. We also distribute support, primarily through small grants, to six other charities in Romania and over 40 shelters in Ukraine. We rehome mainly in Switzerland, Sweden, and the UK. In addition to our efforts in rescuing and rehoming animals, ROLDA tackles the root cause of Romania's homeless animals through comprehensive neutering programmes and educational initiatives. About this key role
