Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement an MND Association Research Nurse Network programme to support the delivery of the Association's strategic goals.
- Manage and support the research nurse network providing close liaison with the MND Association's Care Centre & Networks Programme.
- Ongoing evaluation of the research nurse cohort, ensuring maximum impact and benefits realisation. This includes close liaison and monitoring of the agreed financial contract and agreements.
- Develop a network of research nurses with specific skills, expertise, and objectives.
- Co-ordinate the induction of new research nurses. Develop training materials to support their ongoing professional development.
- Manage and support our research nurse network. Fostering close collaboration with Care Centre Networks.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with Care Centres & Networks.
- Establish national strategic, and effective relationships at a senior level with key policy leaders in health and research. UK MND Research Institute and the UK MND Clinical Studies group
- Strengthen the identity of the MND Association nurses within national research organisations ensuring the MND Association is promoted at all opportunity.
- Evaluate and prioritise research nurse activities to maximise impact and value for the Association.

- Represent MND research nursing at national and international levels when necessary.

What are we looking for?
Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, with considerable experience in clinical research.
Experience of building nurse teams is essential. Strong leadership skills. You will drive purpose and direction within complex organisational structures.
Comprehensive knowledge of UK clinical trial, regulations and experience in supporting clinical research capacity and infrastructure. Experience in neurodegeneration or life-limiting illness studies is preferrable.
Proven experience of service development and implementing large scale change. Ensuring continuous improvement in our approach.
You will be translating complex information to various audiences and representing our organisation at national and international levels.

BACKGROUND
The External Communications Officer forms part of the Communications and Engagement Directorate, reporting into the Senior External Communications Manager. Given the growth of the Institute, the external communications officer would join a busy team in a vibrant and energetic communications and marketing department. The postholder manages a wide portfolio of projects, announcements and collaborations, working with stakeholders and partner organisation at the local, national and international level. The External Communications Officer will provide proactive comms planning and project management, media support, advice and expertise on matters relating to the Institute’s external communications.

Line Manager: Digital Communications Lead
Your responsibilities will include:
Social media delivery and community management
- Plan and deliver inspiring and effective social media content, including as part of engagement campaigns, fundraising appeals and initiative launches, and in support of our partners and members.
- Produce text- and video-/graphic-based social media posts and campaigns that are both suited to our target audiences and adapted for the most appropriate social channels.
- Carry out community management across the charity's digital channels, triaging queries and drafting responses.

Email communications

Terms and conditions and staff benefits
The role is a full-time, 5-day-week (35 hours) position.
The salary is £23,000 - £27,000 per annum depending upon experience.

The Purpose of the Role
The Executive Director, IRC UK is responsible for delivering all of IRC’s targets in the UK, particularly with respect to fundraising, advocacy and communications but also UK finance, operations, and people and culture. The Executive Director leads the UK Senior Management Team.
An important objective for the Executive Director IRC UK will be maintaining the UK as a net contributing office within the IRC and to broaden, deepen and make more sustainable the IRC’s access to funding in the UK. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, IRC Europe and the UK Board of Trustees, the role provides organisational and staff leadership and accountability to IRC UK in a shared management structure.
