The successful candidate will bring proven experience running social media channels for a high-profile organisation, ideally in the public, heritage, charity or military sectors. You’ll be responsible for producing, scheduling, and publishing content across platforms, engaging with followers, advising stakeholders, and managing a comprehensible, long-term digital content strategy.

What you’ll do:

• Take full ownership of our social media presence – including planning, publishing, community management, and performance tracking
• Develop and deliver a structured social content calendar, balancing proactive campaigns with reactive opportunities
• Create, commission, and curate high-quality multimedia content – including photography, video, and written copy
• Act as the internal point of contact for content needs, working with colleagues to identify and prioritise stories that support our goals
• Use analytics to report on performance, refine strategy, and support digital ad campaigns (e.g. Google AdWords and Meta advertising)
• Manage our website’s core content pages, keeping information current and aligned with key campaigns and institutional tone

Who we’re looking for:

We are looking for a hands-on social media professional with at least two years’ experience managing content for a recognised public institution or national brand. You’ll be equally confident planning campaigns and creating content yourself, with a sharp editorial eye and a clear understanding of what drives engagement in different digital contexts.

You must be:

• A confident strategist and executor, comfortable switching between content production, community management, and performance evaluation
• Skilled in writing for social media and web, with a feel for tone, accessibility, and brand consistency
• Able to film, photograph and edit content using common tools (e.g. Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, CapCut)
• Experienced in using platform analytics to inform content decisions and reporting
• Familiar with the values and sensitivities of heritage, charitable or military organisations

Experience working in or alongside government, heritage, charity, military or third-sector organisations will be particularly valued.

What You’ll Do

• Trusts & grants: Work with the Development & Communications Manager to write and submit compelling funding applications to trusts, foundations and grant-making bodies to secure new and repeat funding.

• Scout for, build and maintain relationships with existing and new funders, donors, and partners, ensuring ongoing engagement and support.

• Events: Plan, organise and manage fundraising events, including overseeing event logistics, participant engagement and post-event follow up.

• Work with the Development & Communications team to generate new, innovative fundraising concepts and bring them to fruition.

Since 2011 Disability Africa has developed a model using playschemes as hubs to deliver essential lifesaving services to extremely vulnerable disabled children and to end their exclusion in low-income African communities. Using this model, we have worked with project partners in Kenya, The Gambia, Sierra Leone and Zambia. 680 disabled children have now attended our projects more than 90,000 times since 2011. Now the charity is planning to grow and expand with our 5-year plan (‘DA2029’) to replicate the Disability Africa Model to reach more disabled children across Africa.

By 2029 we will: 
• Start work with at least 4 new partners in Africa (as well as expected growth at our existing projects). 
• Deliver 160,000 attendances by at least 1,500 disabled children in 7 African countries.

About the post
This exciting role would mean joining Refugee Action at a crucial point in the charity’s 40-year history, full of opportunity and potential. You will use your creative skills to support the creation of innovative digital content to engage and mobilise existing supporters and add to Refugee Action’s rapidly growing audience. Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust (HWDT) is a marine conservation charity based on the Isle of Mull. This role is responsible for the development and delivery of HWDT’s new education project, Hebridean Marine Explorers - Connecting Scotland’s seas and communities.

The Education Officer will develop and deliver:

• a 12-week co-design project with schools resulting in a community exhibition

• a programme of digital school workshops

• boat-based floating classroom education workshops

• marine mammal research expeditions for young people

• community open boat events.

Educating young people on land and at sea is key to the role so we are seeking a confident, enthusiastic, organised self-motivator, familiar working with schools and young people, with outstanding communication skills. Experience of marine mammal surveys and the ability to identify cetacean species in the Scottish waters is also essential to the role.

We are looking for somebody experienced in teaching and delivering environmental education activities and training for young people, ideally with knowledge of co-design project delivery and its implementation within a primary school environment.

Our ideal candidate will have experience coordinating a funded project and the skills to provide effective communication, evaluation, and reporting against project targets.

The ability to work with external partners, the wider team of HWDT staff and boat crew to deliver project outcomes and a genuine interest in cetaceans and marine conservation is essential. An understanding of the workings of a charity/NGO would be an advantage.

A valid medical fitness certificate (i.e. ML5 or ENG1) and PVG check is required for the role.

It’s an exciting time to join Kidney Research UK, as we launch our revised strategy through to 2030 to prevent, protect and treat against kidney disease. To achieve our vision, we’re looking for a motivated, ambitious, and enthusiastic team member to join the charity’s marketing team.

Practical experience of applying knowledge of brand and marketing is crucial for this role but the variety of work means there’s plenty of room to grow and develop. No two days will be the same, and you’ll collaborate with colleagues across the whole of the organisation, supporting the development and delivery of campaigns and events to inspire and retain support for Kidney Research UK in priority audiences. You’ll need strong project management tools to keep priorities on track and delivered to budget.

You’ll have good attention to detail and an eye for design, acting as brand champion to ensure stakeholders have a consistent brand experience.
