Volunteer Manager
We are seeking an experienced manager to provide volunteering expertise and insight to enable significant income growth across the team.
This is a full-time, permanent role offering home working and flexible hours.

The Role
This is an exciting role which will be crucial in driving our Regional Fundraising vision to be at the heart of our communities. Your team will be proactively acquiring new volunteers through various products and propositions. About the Opportunity
RI has recently entered into a partnership with Takeda Pharmaceuticals, to implement a four-year project medical supply chain project. This project will focus on building the capacity of 20 local pharmaceutical and medical device suppliers in four countries where Relief International (RI) has existing programming: Afghanistan, Yemen, Myanmar, and Syria.
Providing technical leadership, the project Pharmacy Manager working in close collaboration with the Project Director and project Supply Chain Manager, will support activities of the project deliverables.
Your Responsibilities
This role includes the following responsibilities.
- Lead on national health stakeholders to ensure buy-in and support for the project and its sustainability post project (medical regulatory authority, ministry of health, pharmacy associations, public sector medical procurement departments).
- Work with national peer health stakeholders to ensure their understanding, and engagement / support for the project (iNGOs, Health Clusters, aid management partners, UN stakeholders.
- Reach out to other iNGOs active in the project countries to harmonize product portfolios, and develop support for quality standards
- Champion the RI database for medical products including the RI Medical Supply List (MSL), manufacturers, distributors to include relevant quality data about products and suppliers
- Help the Supply Chain and Procurement Coordinator on sourcing and verifying medical assurance quality certificates with local suppliers to enable RI to conduct and improve local medical supply procurement
- Support sub-contractor activities as agreed in the sub-contractor agreement, and Collaborating with the Pharmacy advisor, lead in conducting regular reviews and assessments of sub-contractor work and progress and providing inputs into required reports
About You
You will bring the following experience and skills.
- A master's or bachelor's degree in pharmacy or a related field, OR equivalent working experience.
- Proven experience in dealing with multiple stakeholders in challenging environments, and working with large medical supply components in complex contexts
- Track record in project progress monitoring, tracking and reporting, qualitative and quantitative
- Knowledge of donor and other international medical quality assurance standards, and skills with host country institutions, and international organizations.
- Comprehensive understanding of medical product quality assurance certification
- Demonstrated experience in coordinating programs with a technical scope similar to the activity, especially focusing on medical procurement & supply chain.
- Being able to successfully operate in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and technical areas.
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Fluency in English required.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
Scientific programme management

· Using knowledge of funded research, work with the Strategic Programmes team to help evaluate the impact of funding in addressing ARUK research priorities.

Research culture and Early Career Researcher strategy

- Developing and implementing an ECR strategy that provides resources, mentorship, and growth opportunities for emerging researchers in dementia.
- Identifying and championing initiatives that support diversity, equity, and inclusivity within the research community.
- Establishing frameworks and activities that promote collaboration, transparency, and ethical research conduct across Alzheimer’s Research UK-funded projects.
Research community engagement
· Develop an approach to grow engagement with researchers and strengthen connections with the wider research community
· Support the Research Engagement Manager and wider teams to deliver activities within the strategy to promote awareness and collaboration, produce impactful resources, to drive impactful scientific progress.
· Lead the advancement of Alzheimer’s Research UK’s flagship research conference, ensuring the programme reflects the latest scientific advances and strategic priorities. and elevates Alzheimer’s Research UK’s visibility and influence in the dementia research field.
Management Responsibilities:
· Line management of a Research Officer and Research Manager, effectively delegating work to support delivery of their objectives

What we are looking for:
· Strong science background, educated to degree level in a relevant subject (preferably with a postgraduate qualification or equivalent work experience)

The Katie Piper Foundation are seeking a passionate and proactive Fundraising Relationships Manager to lead our supporter-led fundraising and corporate partnerships, while also supporting events and major donor stewardship. This role offers a unique opportunity to build and nurture impactful relationships, helping us grow our sustainable income to expand our reach and support for survivors.
You will work closely with the Head of Fundraising and Marketing, as well as our Communications Lead, to maximise our fundraising potential and amplify the charity's message. This is a part-time, dynamic role within a small, dedicated team where no two days are the same!
Key Responsibilities
- Relationship Building: Recruit, support, and manage relationships with individual supporters, corporate partners, and community groups, helping them reach their fundraising potential.
- Corporate Partnerships: Identify and secure new corporate partnerships, including charity of the year opportunities, sponsorships, and collaborative fundraising initiatives.
- Community Engagement: Develop supporter-led fundraising activities, encourage survivor involvement, and foster a diverse community of supporters dedicated to our mission.
- Event and Campaign Support: Play a key role in planning and supporting charity-organised and third-party fundraising events.
- Major Donor Stewardship: Collaborate with the team to engage and steward major donors, building long-term relationships that sustain our mission.
About You
You are a natural relationship builder with a creative and strategic approach to fundraising. You are highly organised, proactive, and able to inspire supporters and partners to achieve their fundraising ambitions. You’re comfortable working independently and as part of a small, collaborative team, bringing passion and commitment to each project.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Proven experience in fundraising, relationship management, or a related field
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work creatively and strategically to achieve fundraising goals
- Experience with corporate partnerships and community fundraising is desirable
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Passionate about making a difference for survivors of life-altering burns and scars
