As Director of Operations, you’ll be responsible for providing strategy on all day-to-day management, safety, and security of Sadler’s Wells’ operations across all venues, as well as acting as the Responsible Person for Health & Safety (H&S). Role Overview:

Provide infrastructure support to local voluntary and community sector (VCS) groups and social enterprises.

Develop and manage VCSE networks focusing on key themes like Children, Families, and Young People, Health and Wellbeing, Digital Isolation, and Safeguarding.

As one of our Grants & Services Officers, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that grant applications are processed efficiently and applicants are dealt with holistically, compassionately and professionally.
As we help record numbers of people, the successful candidate will be required to:
Deal with applicant enquiries
- Ensure a pleasant, helpful and empathetic welcome to applicants who contact the Charity by email, web form, grant application or telephone.
- Provide guidance to applicants in relation to the Charity’s grants criteria, services and process, ensuring they understand how to apply and that their request fits within our criteria.
- Identify any potential safeguarding concerns at an early stage, escalating appropriately
Process applications and referrals to services in a timely manner
- Verify that applicants are eligible beneficiaries and meet the Charity’s criteria.
- Prioritise any applications with particularly urgent requests
- Check that each application is complete and follow up with applicants as required to ensure all information and supporting documents have been submitted.
Provide guidance and information to applicants
- Provide clear guidance to applicants throughout the application process.
- Inform applicants of other potential sources of help and support
- Respond to applicant queries quickly and accurately throughout the application process.
Recommend appropriate grant decisions
- Prepare objective, non-judgemental reports for each case, with appropriate, clear recommendations in line with the grants policy.
- Consider if cases should be referred to Senior Management or Trustees, in line with the existing Grant Making Policy.
To be considered for this position with great scope for growth and development potential, applicants should demonstrate:
- Previous experience within a grant-making role or proven knowledge of the grant-making / benevolent sector.
- Proven experience of providing help and guidance, predominately over the phone and via email, offering support to applicants throughout the grant making process, and other sources of potential help.
- Previous experience of using databases / CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce).
- Ability to interpret grant criteria effectively and make clear decisions.

We are delivering employment support in the South West of England as part of the Refugee Employability Programme (REP). The Role
You will provide employment support to refugee clients enrolled in the Refugee Employability Programme (REP) and help them to achieve their employability goals. You will be the main point of contact for clients enrolled in the project, delivering one on one support across a variety of employability activities including updating CVs, writing cover letters, searching for jobs, applying for jobs, finding volunteering, work experience and training opportunities and preparing for interviews.
You will work to a variety of performance targets based on the progression outcomes of clients such as voluntary and work placements and achieving and sustaining paid employment.
About you
We are looking for candidates who have:
- Experience in successfully supporting refugees into sustainable employment
- Understanding of the issues and challenges faced by unemployed people to finding work, including those who first language is not English
- Experience of providing advice and guidance and supervising a caseload of clients
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong IT skills and the ability to work remotely with confidence
- Cross-cultural sensitivity and the ability to work with clients with varying levels of English

The post holder will be co-located within Brent Early Help and will help raise the team’s awareness, identification and response to those experiencing domestic violence, the post holder will jointly work with Early Help Practitioners on cases to support service users and improve partnership responses. The post holder will have an excellent understanding of domestic violence and its effects on women and children. The post holder will also have an understanding of children’s social care and care proceedings. As an experienced domestic violence advocate who has worked with complex and multiple needs, the post holder will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, remaining calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis. Experience of direct work with female survivors of domestic violence, of supporting women involved with Children’s Social Services and Early Help, and of working within safeguarding procedures is essential for this post, as is the need to adopt and promote a strong partnership approach to service provision.
To be successful as the Early Help IDVA, you’ll need the below experience and skills:

IPEM is looking for an enthusiastic, proactive individual to support colleagues and volunteers at our office on Tadcaster Road, York. The main focus of the job is to ensure that our office is a pleasant place to work for everyone and that our volunteers have the necessary administrative support to carry out their duties. Based in York, the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM) is an Educational Charity which acts as a Professional Body and Learned Society for a growing membership of more than 4,700 scientists, engineers and technologists working in hospitals, universities, and healthcare industries.
Having experience in an office-based role is essential, alongside a supportive and enthusiastic attitude towards work. The role is varied and interesting, with some regular routine tasks and some unusual requests that will require problem solving skills. You will support IPEM’s day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth and efficient business processes. This role involves administrative tasks, coordination, and communication to help optimise the operational workflow. You will need to be organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks with a high level of accuracy.
The role will primarily be based in our offices in York, but some travel within the UK may be required from time to time. IPEM promotes flexible working for staff. We ask all new staff to be office based for the first 6 months to facilitate training and relationship building with a range of colleagues in the office. Unfold is led by the people we serve and we get people where they want to be. We’re a bold, agile and growing organization, with a friendly, energetic and welcoming team. As an established local charity (previously known as Westminster Befriend a Family), we’re powered by volunteers who support young people and families to identify and achieve goals that matter to them. We provide mentoring and peer support groups to people in Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea and the neighbouring boroughs.
We’re open to everyone, but we target those who face the most challenges: 93% of the people we work with describe themselves as coming from a racialized group, 85% of the families we support are single-parent households headed by a woman, and 75% of the children we support are eligible for free school meals. We also run specialized programmes of support for people seeking asylum and those with refugee status. Last year we provided one-to-one mentoring to over 246 people, and group support to a further 252 people. With increasing demand for our services, we expect to provide direct support to over 350 individuals in the coming year.

We’ve made incredible progress in both programme scale and quality, and we want someone to help us identify and articulate the change we make, so that we can keep improving and demonstrate the value we deliver.
JOB PURPOSE
Working with the Managing Director, you will support delivery of our fundraising and impact strategy, supporting us in identifying funding opportunities, submitting bids and ensuring reporting is completed. You will be responsible for maintaining all our communications channels, including social media, updating our website and creating copy and print materials for our programmes. You will help us to share our impact and tell the stories of the mentor and mentees. You will support us to use our data management system, Beacon, to track both our funding pipeline and commitments, as well as our programme impact data. You will analyse and use our data to tell stories that help us improve our work, expand our reach and increase our access to resources.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Funding
- Set up and manage funds on Beacon, our CRM system, tracking opportunities, applications, outcomes, reporting requirements and ensuring accurate record keeping.
- Support the delivery of our fundraising strategy, with specific focus on developing a portfolio of sustainable, multi-year grants, trusts and funds and service delivery contracts, while considering how we can expand individual giving, online fundraising and developing corporate relations.
- Income planning, including identifying, prioritising and scheduling funding opportunities.
- Liaising with programme teams to develop proposals for programme development, and gathering engaging information to demonstrate impact in reports.
- Supporting teams to manage monitoring and evaluation requirements for donor and internal purposes, developing and maintaining monitoring frameworks.
- Preparing and submitting proposals and tenders to donors, trusts and funds and government and local government contractors.
- Preparing and submitting timely donor reports in line with contractual requirements.
- Reviewing contracts and ensuring contract compliance.

This is a very exciting time to join our expanding Visiting Caseworker Service. We are seeking two new colleagues, who will join our current team of two caseworkers covering the UK and Ireland. These newly created positions will be regionally based, one covering South West England & South Wales, and the other North West England & North Wales (with other travel across the UK on occasion).
Visiting Caseworkers each deal with an approximate caseload of 70-100 cases / visits per year. Central to the role will be supporting and advocating on behalf of vulnerable applicants, or those who are living in particularly complex or challenging situations. The job will be wide-ranging and include elements of advocacy, support, income maximisation, mediation, partnership working and processing our own grants where appropriate, with the overall aim to reach long-term sustainable solutions for Anglican clergy households.
Working closely with the Visiting Caseworker Manager and the wider Charitable Services team, key responsibilities will include:
Receive referrals from applicants via the Grants & Services team, for potential casework and home visits
- Assess and prioritise urgent cases on a weekly basis.
Conduct home visit (or online meeting)
- Provide thorough assessment of current situation, taking into consideration time available and wellbeing of the applicant.
- Conduct general income maximisation check (welfare benefits, grants check etc), where necessary.
- Identify, discuss and escalate (to Designated Safeguarding Officer) any safeguarding concerns within the household.
- Gather information in order to create individualised action plans with the primary contact and other household members.
• Assess and prioritise urgent actions during the meeting.
Develop an action plan
- Complete a written summary of the meeting and draft an action plan for possible areas of help and support with allocated responsibilities and agreed timelines.
- Prioritise urgent actions and agree responsibility for each action with applicant.
- Liaise with other agencies (e.g., DWP, Social Services, NHS, other charities, voluntary organisations, occupational benevolent funds, Dioceses, CofE Pensions Board etc.) where necessary.
- Refer to our own partnership support services if appropriate for help and support.
- Research and identify any local organisations for longer-term support.
- Consider and recommend most appropriate grant support through our own internal grants programme.
- Advocate on behalf of the applicant (e.g., complete internal and external applications, liaise with other external agencies, members of the Church where necessary).
- Act as third party for complaints, mediation or appeal hearings with applicants, either in person, online, or helping prepare a written submission.
- Keep accurate and objective notes and communications within our CRM system and ensure this is kept up to date on a daily basis.
Follow-up
- Manage and update action plans, while keeping in contact with applicant on a regular basis.
- Encourage and empower applicants to complete their actions and know when to step in, as and when necessary.
- Only in exceptional circumstances, consider a further home visit, if deemed appropriate
Other reasonable duties and projects commensurate with the post
- Support and work closely with other VC colleagues sharing areas of expertise.
- In particularly busy times, act as an overflow for grant applications, to support colleagues in the Charitable Services Team.

To be considered for this position with great scope for growth and development potential, applicants should demonstrate:
- Significant experience of working within a charity / not-for-profit or grant making trust, supporting individuals and families with complex health and care needs, elderly, or vulnerable applicants, face-to-face, online and over the phone.
- Significant knowledge and experience in at least two of the following areas:
- Welfare benefits and submitting appeals or complaints.
- Mental health support
- SEN education advice including SEN support, EHCPs and SENDIST tribunals.
- Local authority and other statutory support such as Social Service Assessments and services, complaints, DFG entitlements.
- NHS services, continuing health care either for children or adults.
- Experience of working alongside and liaising with external agencies and organisations
