Since 2011 Disability Africa has developed a model using playschemes as hubs to deliver essential lifesaving services to extremely vulnerable disabled children and to end their exclusion in low-income African communities. Using this model, we have worked with project partners in Kenya, The Gambia, Sierra Leone and Zambia. 680 disabled children have now attended our projects more than 90,000 times since 2011. Now the charity is planning to grow and expand with our 5-year plan (‘DA2029’) to replicate the Disability Africa Model to reach more disabled children across Africa.
By 2029 we will:
• Start work with at least 4 new partners in Africa (as well as expected growth at our existing projects).
• Deliver 160,000 attendances by at least 1,500 disabled children in 7 African countries.
• Grow and reach as many disabled children as possible - we know we can’t do it all by ourselves - so we will engage other international NGOs to adopt our model of inclusion.

We are currently looking for an On The Water Project Coordinator to join our team.
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to lead on an externally funded outreach project providing hard to reach young people with the opportunity to try free boating sessions over the summer holidays.
This is a very varied and rewarding role that requires someone who is self-motivated, organised, creative, tenacious, positive and IT competent with experience in project management.
You need to be able to motivate and inspire your project team, ensuring that the project is on target through continuous monitoring and evaluation. The On The Water Project Coordinator will be responsible for the line management of 3 fixed-term Project Assistants.
Whilst this role is homebased for the majority of the time, it requires the post holder to travel to each of the locations intensively throughout the 5 week delivery period, as well as regular travel for both the planning and evaluation periods. Travel expenses are covered as part of the role.
Responsibilities
Coordinate and ensure the delivery of the On the Water project.
- To manage the temporary Project Assistants at Royal Docks, Midlands and Port Edgar Boat Stations
- Work with the Project Assistants and Growth and Development Workers to enable the effective recruitment of young people, particularly those facing difficulties or disadvantage to the project through recruitment and referrals from local authorities, schools and other relevant bodies
- Devise, plan and implement systems to record and report on the project’s activity, progress and outcomes
- Manage the budget in accordance with the agreed expenditure targets, ensuring that accurate records are maintained
- Ensure the safe and smooth running of delivery in line with all internal policies
- Manage the evaluation, wrap up and future planning of the project
- Ensure the project meets it's targets and funders have timely and accurate reports
- Develop robust monitoring and booking systems and ensure they are rolled out, understood, and used across all 3 sites

Rising Sun Domestic Violence and Abuse Service (Rising Sun) is an independent charity in Kent working to prevent domestic abuse and improve the lives of survivors and their children suffering from its effects. We have an ambitious vision for a world in which women and children live free from actual or threatened domestic abuse and all forms of violence.
Our team provide a range of services to adults and children who’ve experienced domestic abuse. We understand the impact of domestic abuse on survivors and so we listen to individual needs and respond in a trauma informed way. We provide one-to-one support and also deliver therapeutically informed group programmes to help survivors to recognise healthy/unhealthy behaviours in relationships and to understand the impact of domestic abuse. As a Rising Sun Administrator you will be a key member of our frontline team working alongside specialist domestic abuse workers and providing essential support as a valued member of the team.
You will be involved in a range of tasks that contribute to the smooth running of our services, including processing incoming referrals and answering our main office phoneline, dealing with referral queries as well as supporting survivors to access support. You will also be involved in coordinating our group programmes for survivors, and our One Stop Shop drop ins.

JOB PURPOSE
- To provide practical and emotional support to survivors of domestic abuse, including crisis intervention, risk assessment and safety planning.
- To develop individual support plans, which address the risk of harm and offer information, advocacy, advice and signposting to survivors, underpinned by individual risk and need.
- To empower survivors, thereby increasing self- esteem, reducing isolation and helping survivors to keep safe.
- To provide survivors with information relating to their rights and ensuring survivors are empowered to make decisions based on their options.
- To work in collaboration with the adult team and wider Rising Sun team to support other programmes delivered within the organisation.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Service delivery
- Work as part of a team providing high quality support, advice, advocacy and information to survivors of domestic abuse.
- Manage a caseload in accordance with organisational policies and procedures and adhere to confidentiality.
- Work in a needs led way with a specific focus on a trauma informed approach, which recognises domestic abuse and its impact.
- Work holistically with survivors, recognising individual needs, and help survivors to recognise and build on their strengths and abilities to build self-esteem and resilience.
- Offer support face to face or remotely, via phone or video call, depending on the needs of the survivor and current guidance around social distancing.
- Attend regular supervision and appraisals with line-manager.
- Work effectively in partnership with other agencies and refer on appropriately, dependant on need and risk. This may include referral to specialist agencies, to other specialist DVA services or other external processes (for example MARAC).
- Assess risk to individuals on a regular basis using the DASH risk indicator checklist.
- Work with survivors to develop tailored support plans with a focus on reducing the risk of harm, increasing their personal safety (and that of any children) and responding to their individual needs.
- Support survivors to be able to identify and manage the risks to themselves and their children
- Provide information to survivors in relation to their options, including guidance in relation to their housing, legal and welfare rights and advocate on their behalf as required.
- Encourage service users’ participation in service development, continuous improvement and feedback exercised.
- Represent the Rising Sun at relevant community meetings and forums.
- Support Rising Sun’s community services including our One Stop Shop drop in service and group programmes.
- Maintain up to date and accurate records and ensure, reports and evaluations are completed as required.

The British Heart Foundation (BHF) is looking for a dynamic and proactive Junior Buyer to join our new goods Furniture and Electrical team for BHF Home Stores. This is a fantastic opportunity to support our mission and contribute to the development of new goods within our retail portfolio.

As a Junior Buyer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Buyer and wider team in managing the range life cycle, strategic planning, and product development. You will work closely with suppliers, ensuring product quality and optimising stock availability.
As a Junior Buyer, your key responsibilities include:
- Strategically planning new goods furniture and electrical ranges for BHF Home stores in conjunction with Buyer, taking responsibility for a key area and presenting to senior retail management.
- Negotiating pricing, production, display, packaging and product detail
- Maintaining relationships with existing suppliers and sourcing new suppliers
- Communicating with suppliers to drive the critical path and optimise stock
- Working closely with the merchandising team to interpret sales history and analysis to support the buying strategy
- Reducing costs and improving quality of supply
- Achieving budgeted sales and margin for specific product category
- Maintaining the range plan and relevant documentation and systems
- Analysing consumer buying patterns and successfully predicting future trends
- Comparative shop reports, market research and identifying product trends
- Field liaison to gauge sales feedback and range balance alongside donated goods
- Communicating display guidelines and product information to the field teams
- Supporting the Buyer and wider team with administrative tasks
- Training and mentoring junior staff
- Maintaining a high level of QA awareness specific to product category
In this position you'll collaborate closely with multiple internal and external stakeholders including UK suppliers, Marketing, Merchandising and store field teams.
About you
We are looking for someone with previous experience as junior buyer or assistant buyer in a Retail Head Office environment.
You should have excellent negotiation and communication skills, a proven track record of success in buying goods, and a passion for retail, especially within the charity sector.
To succeed in this role you will:

Working arrangements
This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our Northampton office (NN1 2BN).

Job Purpose:
We are seeking a proactive and creative Media Officer to enhance the visibility, reach, and impact of New Capital Consensus and Radix Big Tent. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing media relations, crafting compelling content, and executing strategic communication campaigns to engage diverse audiences, including policymakers, business leaders, and the wider public.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement media and communications strategies to promote the work of New Capital Consensus and, through it, Radix Big Tent.
- Write and distribute news releases, opinion pieces, blog posts, and social media content.
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists, broadcasters, and media outlets.
- Monitor media coverage and provide analysis on engagement and impact.
- Manage and grow digital platforms, ensuring a strong and consistent brand presence.
