We opened our Day Centre for older people, adults with disabilities and adults with dementia in October 2021. The Office Manager role is a new position that will provide a wide variety of operational support to the Day Centre Leadership Team as we are embedding and growing our Day Centre offering and increasing the number of clients who attend the Day Centre and the types of services they receive.

We also support older Wandsworth residents in the following groups with outreach in the community and with activities in the Day Centre: BAME; digitally isolated; financially isolated; LGBTQ; socially isolated; women; and those with, or at risk of, mental and/or physical ill health and disabilities.

Person Specification:

Essential:

• Proven experience in HR management, preferably in the charity sector or similar non-profit organisation (minimum two years of managerial experience.)
• Current knowledge of Employment Law and predicted trends.
• Level 5 CIPD or equivalent HR related qualification/HR experience. 
• Solid organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive attitude towards all stakeholders.
• Self-motivated with a solution-orientated approach.
• Demonstrable ability to uphold the key principles of HR including confidentiality, fairness, integrity, respect.

IBIS House MH Step Down & Crisis

Working in partnership with the London Borough of Newham and East London Foundation Trust, IBIS House supports people who are medically fit for discharge from mental health inpatient stays but have other barriers to discharge. These may include housing, living skills, accessing benefits or the community, or other interventions and will be on a person-centred basis. The main aim of the service is to provide short-term support to customers to link with longer-term services to reduce escalations in need, and reduce inpatient readmission and reduce pressure on inpatient beds.

As a Senior Support Worker, you will be expected to undertake some duties as part of the management team which may include supporting the team with their responsibilities whilst working flexibly to respond to the needs of your own customer case load. This role will require either an extra dimension of experience or have/be working towards a higher qualification level in order to meet the role specific competencies for this position.

Shifts will be on a rota pattern and include morning shifts (08:00-16:00) and afternoon shifts (14:00-22:00).

Includes evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Work proactively with the team to handle the service caseload and support an effective team approach to meeting each customer's identified needs in a recovery-focussed way

Contribute to a positive service environment, ensuring the service is supportive and a place of safety and stability for customers. Our trauma informed staff specialise in providing nurture and care to children and young people

Some of your duties will include:  

• You will complete daily welfare/client wellbeing checks across their dispersed buildings

• You will complete daily building checks in line with the shift planner to ensure our buildings are safe and well maintained

• Lead on the preparation of voids for relet including flagging and processing maintenance issues and general cleaning tasks

• You will provide key work support to our Emergency Bed clients during their stay

• You will encourage their involvement in personal progression in the form of education, training, employment activity or volunteering.

• You may help them develop their practical skills in areas such as budgeting, shopping, cooking and housework, laundry, health and hygiene

• Help to maintain a welcoming, safe environment, identifying and minimising all potential risks to users of the premises and the organisation

You will have: 

• Clear verbal and written English

• Good IT and keyboard skills

• Polite, assertive manner, ability to self -motivate

• Passion for working in a client/customer facing role

• Knowledge of the benefits system and tenancy legislation

• Have an interest and genuine concern for homelessness and related issues

• Knowledge of voluntary and statutory agencies

A full drivers licence and access to a vehicle is essential for this role

Floating Support Worker Wanted!

Location: Pan London - Free license to arrange your own diary

Day 1 - West: Hillingdon & Hounslow.

Day 2 - East: Havering, Romford, Barking & Dagenham.

Day 3 - South: Croydon, Lewisham & Greenwich.

Day 4 - North: Enfield.

(Then repeat) 80% in the community, 20% in the office you can choose Hackney or Lambeth

Social Care Assignment: 1-2 Months initially with likely extension

Hours: Mon - Fri, 09:00-17:00

Must have an enhanced DBS Issued within the last 12 months (or on the update service)

Pay: £14.40 + Holiday = £16.14 per hour or £18.00 umbrella

Purpose of the service:

Help people get into suitable and stable accommodation, acting as a stepping stone between supported and private accommodation

Our social care client needs a Floating Support Worker to provide housing related support to vulnerable ex homeless clients, to ensure they maintain their tenancy and get them ready for an independent lifestyle. You will be supporting 20-25 clients around London, the frequency of how often you will need to visit each service user will depend on their level of need. So, this is a great opportunity to be out in the community supporting those who need your advice and guidance most!

The clients themselves have a variety of support needs ranging from low to high, all of which are ex-rough sleepers and have a variety of support needs including substance misuse, mental health issues and low indpendence. You will be helping them improve and obtain accommodation and gain the skills and knowledge they need to maintain a property and live an independent life. You will need to demonstrate patience, perseverance, and motivation to really get the best out of your case load, in this social care position

• Travel costs during working hours will be expensed
• Must be available to work 37.5 hours a week over the following shift patterns:

09:00-17:00 Monday to Friday, 5 days a week

Duties:

• Oversee a case load of 20-25 low to high needs clients
• Organising your week by booking appointments with each client
• Writing up the monthly and weekly reports using clear written communication
• Helping your clients with budgeting, advising around what they can afford and how to get the most out of their financial position
• Help each client obtain and maintain their tenancy, reporting any damages, help each client keep on top of their financial responsibilities
• Oversee and maintain a positive relationship between your client and their landlord
• Support clients emotionally
• Empower you clients and encourage them to take up hobbies, attend appointments and apply for work, education, or training
• Encourage your client to engage with the community
• Promote independence and teach life skills
