Overview of the role
The new role of Senior Fundraising Officer offers a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious fundraiser to join our successful Development Team and play a key role in helping us grow the reach and impact of our coaching programmes for young people.
We are looking for someone with experience in raising funds from trusts and foundations, corporate donors or high-net worth individuals. Our ideal candidate will be an excellent writer with experience in drafting grant applications and reports. They will also be interested in advancing their fundraising career in a collaborative team, with coaching and personal development at its heart.
As Senior Fundraising Officer, you will work flexibly across all our income streams, securing grants and stewarding relationships with trusts and foundations, corporate partners, statutory agencies, and high-net worth individuals. BACKGROUND
Habitat for Humanity Great Britain (Habitat GB) is part of the international Habitat for Humanity network. We address housing poverty worldwide by partnering with communities and families to help them achieve their dreams of safe, decent housing.
Purpose of The role
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Community Outreach Coordinator to join our growing, dynamic team. This role will support the development of a community hub attached to our charity retail “ReStore” in Romford—the first of its kind in the UK. Globally, over 1,000 ReStores operate with the mission of upcycling unwanted home materials to support low-income households and promote a circular economy.
Beyond being a retail space, our ReStore aims to become a community hub offering additional targeted activities and services to those most vulnerable to housing insecurity. Our pilot programme will focus on supporting women recovering from domestic abuse or trafficking. These women will access free essential goods from the store, and benefit from workshops and courses such as upholstery, upcycling, art therapy, employability, confidence-building, and practical life skills.
Main Responsibilities
We are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to design and maintain all community outreach activities. The Community Outreach Coordinator will represent Habitat GB, working with the leadership team to develop and implement initiatives that increase the community hub’s visibility and impact.
This position will:
· Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain relationships with collaborative partners in the housing support sector.
· Budget Preparation: Assist in preparing an annual budget for community outreach activities.

Person Specification

You must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to adapt your approach to meet the needs of the people we support. This role is ideal for someone with a background in community outreach or social care, though we welcome applicants with relevant transferable experience and skills.

Job summary
We are currently seeking to appoint an inspirational and enthusiastic Education Coordinator, passionate about community-based learning to join our small and friendly team. The Education Coordinator will be responsible for the delivery and development of all aspects of the work of the adult and family learning programme and will have the opportunity to develop other provision at the centre. Our adult learning programme supports over 250 local adults each year through a range of programmes designed to improve their English language, digital and maths skills and increase their employability and involvement in the community. Our family learning programme supports over 200 children with online after-school classes in Maths, English and Science. You would also be responsible for coordinating 6 teachers remotely to deliver weekly online after-school classes for Year 3 to Year 9 in all three subjects. We also deliver a range of informal family learning provision across our Family Programme services to over 1000 users, and some of these programmes may be included in our Adult Education offer and so you will be required to support with the administration of these activities.
The Education Coordinator will be based at our centre at 2 Thorpe Close W10 5XL and will have responsibility for working with the heads of departments, tutors and education administrator, to plan and deliver the learning programme. The successful candidate will have a full UK teaching qualification in the Further Education sector, and delivery of FSE/ESOL at various levels would be desirable; have excellent leadership and inter-personal skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; be highly organised and efficient.
The salary is £33,500 per annum and in addition to bank holidays we offer 25 days’ annual leave, additional Christmas time leave, a pension scheme, cycle to work scheme and a comprehensive training programme.
The employment is subject to a probational period of twenty-six weeks from your start date of employment with Nova, during which time you will be required to demonstrate to the leadership team’s satisfaction your suitability for the position in which you are employed.

Management experience in the education sector or in a relevant field; experience of delivering FSE/ESOL at various levels, ideally preparing and entering students for FSE/ESOL exams. A track record of good – outstanding teaching. Ideally QTLS or QTS and other relevant qualifications to teach numeracy, literacy or ICT. Experience of internal verification and observation of teaching. Excellent inter-personal and management skills; excellent written English and digital skills; efficient organisation skills; an outstanding teacher; creativity and innovation.

As a senior youth worker you will be part of the team at Carney’s community, involved in the running of the youth boxing sessions, youth club and bike workshop. The post will start before the lead youth worker is on maternity leave to allow you time to get to know the team, the young people and for effective handover when you will be given responsibility for overseeing the youth club and bike workshop sessions and work in partnership with the head coach to run the youth boxing sessions. Create a programme of cultivation events which nurture existing partnership relationships and underpin the creation of new ones.

Oversee the development of inspiring digital content and collateral to attract new and retain funders and fundraisers to the charity.

Ensure accurate record-keeping of corporate partnerships and relationships in our CRM system.

Ensure that our work complies with fundraising best practice, GDPR and other relevant legislation.

This role requires an ambitious, passionate and determined individual with outstanding written and verbal communication skills. You’ll be curious, inclusive, creative, flexible, resilient and have a collaborative working style with a proven ability to work as part of a small team.
You’ll have an excellent understanding of the English language and a keen eye for detail. You’ll flourish working to deadlines which you will meet because of your exceptional time management and organisational skills.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate

At least three years fundraising management experience

Evidence of alignment with our mission and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.

Lived experience of disabling or marginalising barriers.

A background in the Corporate and/or Trusts world.

Experience of developing a fundraising strategy.

Excellent planning and project management skills with the capability to switch/prioritise tasks quickly.

Experience of writing compelling fundraising applications and funder proposals.

A track record of securing multi-year, five-figure donations.

Experience of monitoring and reporting against targets and strong budget management skills.

A thorough knowledge of the relevant fundraising legislation, regulations and financial issues.

Exceptional written and oral communication skills.

Strong IT skills including an understanding of CRM systems.

Self motivation with an ability to use your initiative.
