Fundraising Manager

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Fundraising Manager to become a vital part of a small, friendly and ambitious fundraising team.

Position: Fundraising Manager

Location: Hybrid working – primarily homebased with occasional travel to Maidenhead

Salary: £34,978 per annum

About the role:

The fundraising team raise approximately £400K annually and aspiring to grow by over half a million by 2025. You will be responsible for leading and growing income via the charities Corporate Partnerships and Sporting Challenges. The ideal candidate will have high-level experience in corporate fundraising.

Key responsibilities include:

• Provide excellent account management to some of the charities existing and new corporate relationships.
• Carry out effective prospect research.
• Engage companies in our sporting challenges.
• Nurture effective relationships with corporate partners to achieve the best outcomes for the charity.
• Manage and grow the charities portfolio of challenge events to maximise income from this fundraising stream to achieve and exceed set income and expenditure targets, offering opportunities for engagement, and fundraising across the calendar year.
• Plan and deliver the marketing and recruitment of a range of events, including the London Marathon and other major running, hiking, cycling, swimming, skydiving and ultra-challenges.
• Coordinate and create content for the Fundraising Team communications via social media and digital communications to increase engagement from supporters.
• Create and manage annual budget lines to ensure income and expenditure meet set financial targets to maximise a return on investment.
• Monitor and report on income and expenditure for the relevant budget lines.
• Actively participate in team meetings.
• Attend key fundraising events and annual conference.

About you:

To be successful in this role you will have:

• A proven track record of successfully managing a charity’s corporate partnerships and sporting challenges.
• Good knowledge of the principals of customer service/supporter care and donor development.
• Sound knowledge of GDPR and the impact on fundraising in terms of on-going consent and deletions of donors.
• Significant experience of working within a charity in a similar fundraising role.
• Experience of developing new fundraising products and building a programme of engagement to grow fundraising income.
• Experience of managing events, preferably sporting challenge events.
• Excellent digital skills with experience of using a variety of online platforms, including website editing, image re-sizing, social media, and e-news content creation.
• Experience of using a CRM database to maintain data accurately, and an understanding of how to extract and evaluate information.
• Strong presentation, negotiation and influencing skills with a creative and entrepreneurial outlook.
• Strong project management skills.
• Excellent MS Office skills in the use of email, Word and Excel and PowerPoint.
• Use of social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter including knowledge of a content management system for updating websites and images.

The Café forms part of a central hub, housing a daytime café for the community and an after-school Youth Café that connects vulnerable young people to positive and inspiring role-models from their community, empowering and inspiring them to become active citizens in their community. The space is used for two similar, but distinct purposes and excellent working relationships between these are essential. This role is responsible for the daytime café and related income generating activities.

An initiative of the Matrix Trust, our café has built an excellent reputation, with the vision to provide a space for local people to retreat to, where they will find a friendly welcome and an opportunity to give back to the community. Key elements include: quality coffee, delicious healthy food, a calm but welcoming environment, and an eco-friendly, low waste ethos.

The Café is open 5 days a week, 8:30am to 3pm on Tuesday to Friday and 10am to 3pm on Saturdays. 

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

● Oversee the efficient daily operation of the café, ensuring high standards and excellent customer service.

● Engage customers, take and serve orders, and drive sales.

● Ensure all health & safety and food safety standards are met.

● Maintain a clean, welcoming, and friendly environment for customers.

● Manage stock levels, place supply orders, and handle cash management, including cashing up and reporting till adjustments.

● Develop and maintain a visually inviting space with up-to-date menus and quality food offerings.

● Implement and follow food rotation and waste management procedures to minimise waste and maximise margins.

● Utilise and develop methods that encourage repeat business.

● Secure the café at the end of the shift.

Main duties and responsibilities

 Technology provision

- To co-ordinate the application and consultation process for children’s palliative care services invited to apply for new packages of technology.

- To create documentation annually to capture all equipment requests, costings and associated partnership agreements.

- To co-ordinate technology installation schedules and liaise with Lifelites Champions to ensure efficient project delivery.

- To produce handouts and user guides for installation and ongoing training sessions aligned to Lifelites technology installation schedule.

- To attend and support the delivery of events, installations and Lifelites functions and represent Lifelites within children’s palliative care settings and forums.

- To provide administrative support for new technology pilots and other innovation activity.

- To support the development of Lifelites 25th anniversary activities, which are currently in development.

Learning and development

- To respond to training requests and co-ordinate installation and ongoing face-to-face training by liaising with Lifelites Champions, Lifelites Trainer and Head of Services to book dates and prepare training itineraries.

- To co-ordinate Lifelites Super User events including venue bookings, scheduling and training providers.

- To capture and monitor training feedback and prepare briefings for Head of Services and Trainer.

- To support the development and implementation of Lifelites e-learning platform, including course modules, interactive learning and activity ideas.

Partner engagement

- To support ongoing quality improvement by delivering regular account calls, responding to queries and maintaining up to date contact information for Lifelites Champions and other key stakeholders.

- To co-ordinate monitoring activity with partners including training feedback, annual surveys and case studies.

- To liaise with the Communications & Marketing Officer to create and publish information relating to services for newsletters and social media.

General

The Charity also funds a range of projects across the UK, providing innovative services within healthcare, legal advice and mental health support to facilitate a long-term transition out of homelessness.  The Charity is at a pivotal stage in their development, building on the hugely successful BBC Radio 4 Appeal that will enter its 100th Anniversary in 2026, diversifying income streams to create year-round opportunities to donate. The BBC Radio Christmas appeal generates over £2M income for the Charity, providing a unique and long-standing opportunity to engage a diverse audience to the wonderful programmes that the Charity funds across the country. Key duties for this role include: 

• Develop, deliver and evaluate inspiring, innovative and cost-effective Christmas Individual Giving activity, driving engagement and optimising long term value from cold and warm audiences. 

• Ensure effective management of the annual BBC Radio 4 broadcast appeal, working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure opportunities to leverage engagement and net income are maximized across all relevant channels. These include broadcast, telephone, social media, paid search, SMS, email, inserts and mail. 

• Deliver the Christmas activity as part of an integrated approach, working collaboratively with the BBC, creative and media agencies and colleagues across St Martin’s Charity including the Fundraising, Communications and Programmes teams. 

• Work with the Leadership Giving Team to ensure high value giving opportunities arising out of the Christmas Appeal activity and Radio 4 Appeal Anniversary year are optimised. 

• Work collaboratively to optimise contactability across Christmas campaign activity, developing a seamless supporter journey that encourages regular giving and increases lifetime value.   

 
We’re looking for the following skills & experience: 

• Demonstrable experience of project management across a range of direct marketing channels including print & digital. 

• A strong track record of campaign planning, including ideation, proposition development, campaign execution and channel optimisation. 

• Experience of sourcing compelling content for utilisation across both online and offline channels. 

• Experience of working with creative, print, digital and media agencies, collaborating with them to get the best results. 

• Experience of using social media to target, communicate with and engage 

• Planning and budgeting experience in an individual giving context. 

• Experience of managing broadcast appeals, especially radio appeals is highly desirable.

About SCEC

SCEC was founded over twenty years ago to provide learning enrichment opportunities to primary school children in disadvantaged communities in south London. Together with our partners, several leading independent schools, we currently operate four schemes in math, literacy, science and art. Your Role

The Scheme Director is a newly created role that will be pivotal in helping SCEC extend its reach. Reporting to the Board of Trustees, you will help SCEC design and implement an expansion programme as well as coordinating the delivery of the existing schemes via our school partners. You will also serve as a trusted partner to the Board in the administration of the charity.

Similar to a COO, this role straddles the operational and the strategic. The Community Engagement Coordinator will join our Engagement Team at the forefront of involving local communities in our exciting tree-planting & urban greening projects and engage people in taking action for trees and the environment.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Community Engagement team at Trees for Cities leads activities for thousands of adults and children to participate in our Urban Forest tree planting programme that aims to plant, promote, and protect trees. This role will join other Community Engagement Coordinators and the Community Engagement Manager in working closely with the Youth and Schools Engagement, Urban Forest, and Marketing and Communications teams to deliver multiple, overlapping projects with diverse London communities.

We are looking for energetic and organised individuals to support and coordinate our community engagement activities for urban forest projects and initiatives. This involves planning, delivering, and reporting back on community consultations, educational workshops, public tree-planting events and other activities.
The role is public-facing, so we are looking for confident and adaptable communicators who are comfortable engaging residents in a range of communities, schools, and interest groups and are passionate about what we do at Trees for Cities.

This role accommodates hybrid working for days that do not involve practical on-site, office work or in person meetings. Generally, this works out to 2 WFH days per week.

We are looking for a training and development lead who will design and implement our training and conference programmes. You will work with legal and community organisations to understand their legal needs and tailor the training to give lawyers and advisers the tools they need to help their communities. You will develop resources and training that are practical, holistic and comprehensive and delivered through a range of online and in person methods. 

We already have established conferences and a training programme, working with partner organisations to deliver excellent resources but there is a need to develop this further. You will be supported in the role by the Events and Communications Coordinator.

You will be passionate and enthusiastic about access to justice with a training and development background. You will lead on the development of a new range of resources for the wider access to justice community with a focus on housing issues. You will also work closely with other staff to re-imagine and represent existing content in new ways. As LAG is at the heart of the social justice lawyering community, the successful candidate will work closely with our partner organisations.

Principal duties and responsibilities:

• Plan and manage a comprehensive training and conference programme.
• Identify and utilise the most appropriate platforms for delivery of different activity (e.g. in person, e-learning, webinar, podcasts) to make the most effective use of resources and meet customer need.
• · Work with subject matter experts, curating and creating content as needed.
• · Work with and develop relationships with lawyers and advice organisations and community groups to understand their learning needs.
• To develop digital content of the training materials, event video production, design brochures and training materials and keep these up to date and relevant.
• To be the first point of contact and provide first line support for all training and learning.
• Produce project progress reports and regularly review the project plan and budget..
• Support the administration and organisation of all learning and development programmes and events (virtual and in-person) and gather evidence and feedback to measure outcomes and impact of L&D activities.
• Arranging online and in person seminars, conferences, and training.
• Develop a marketing strategy for training and build a social media profile.
• Work with the LAG team to maintain a positive work environment and establish a culture of learning

Dementia Carers Count has an exciting new remote role for an enthusiastic Corporate Partnerships Manager within the income generation team to build corporate relationships whilst making a difference to dementia carers lives.

Job Title:      Corporate Partnerships Manager
Reports to:   Director of Communications and Growth
Contract:      Permanent
Hours:         28 - 35 hours / week must be available to work Tuesday & a minimum of 4 days per week
Salary:       Circa £40,000 per year FTE, subject to benchmarking
Location:   Remote, with attendance at staff or partner in-person meetings as necessary for the role, usually once a month in London

Job purpose
This is a new role, responsible for delivering financial support for our mission from corporate partners.  Initially, the majority of your time will be devoted to new business development, including prospect identification, and shaping and delivering pitches and proposals to corporate partners to meet fundraising targets.  As we grow, the work will be divided across high quality stewardship of existing partners across all sectors, as well as working creatively to identify and develop opportunities to upscale their impact.

This role sits alongside Trusts and Foundations and Public Fundraising within a team whose remit covers income generation, campaigns and marketing.  The post holder will report to the Director of Communications and Growth, supporting the senior leadership team to engage corporate partners and prospects where appropriate. 

Key responsibilities  

·Develop and maintain propositions to attract companies to support our work

·Identify, prepare and make highly targeted approaches to secure major partnerships that align with our organisational priorities, focusing on commercial / brand partnerships, strategic partnerships and donations

·Work with the Comms & Growth team to identify opportunities for income growth through existing and new corporate partnerships

·Proactively source and refresh a pipeline of corporate partnership opportunities by monitoring, analysing and reviewing relevant industry trends and developments, through networking and researching prospects

·Provide excellent account management and stewardship to new and existing corporate funders, maintaining regular communication with key contacts, and providing informative and engaging updates on their impact

·Design and deliver partnership plans that meet shared expectations, maximise income and where possible support our advocacy or campaigning activities

This is a newly created role with the purpose of maintaining a culture of compliance across the charity whilst ensuring we adhere to all relevant regulations and laws.

Together with the Governance Manager, you will be the key point of contact for compliance, providing advice and support to the team and ensuring we have procedures and controls in place across all areas of the charity. This will include training to ensure the team is skilled and acting consistently, as well as identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing appropriate solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Promote a culture of compliance and be a point of contact for all compliance and data protection queries, providing accurate advice to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Develop and maintain robust procedures and structures that give the charity the ability to fulfil our regulatory requirements.
• Ensure the charity is aware of, and is reacting to, any fundraising, data protection and other compliance regulation changes, by understanding wider implications.

About The Role

Working closely with our Chief Executive Officer, the Operations and Systems Manager would take a birds-eye view of our organisation to help us build a consistent, collaborative and centralised approach to how we work. You would hold responsibility for developing and embedding operational strategies, processes, policies, and systems that meet our needs and help to support staff wellbeing. This role includes a key focus on improving how we can better use and manage our digital infrastructure to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of internal processes and to improve our ability to engage and retain external audiences, enabling us to build our impact on a national scale. Key areas of responsibility are as follows:

Day-to-day operational management of the Charity, including:

• Resolving daily operational and administrative issues efficiently and effectively.
• Taking initiative to enhance or develop, implement and embed effective systems and working practices, drawing from personal knowledge and experience and external examples of best practice.
• Developing and refining our approach to hybrid working, ensuring systems and processes enable connection and creativity across the organisation. This includes working closely with the HR and Finance Officer to ensure new and existing staff are appropriately trained and supported with ensuring a safe, comfortable and productive home working set-up.
• Taking responsibility for managing our office space and working environment, ensuring it is fit for the organisation’s needs. This includes everything from liaising with our landlord and tradespeople, ensuring compliance with the terms of our lease, maintaining required levels of tea, coffee, milk, stationery and other consumables, and making improvements to ensure a productive and effective working environment.
• Ensuring technology (computers, printers etc.) is fit for purpose, safe, enables robust data security, and is properly recorded on Music Masters’ asset register.
• Oversight of service level agreements, memberships and contracts with external suppliers and providers, regularly reviewing these to ensure that they are current, necessary, effective and delivering value for money, in collaboration with the wider team and with the CEO / Finance Director as appropriate. Digital:

• Overseeing day-to-day management of IT and communications infrastructure and usage, including ensuring IT and comms equipment, systems and processes are fit for purpose and enable strong connectivity internally and externally, liaising with IT and comms support agencies as appropriate.
• In year one, leading a full review of digital processes, tools / platforms and systems used across the organisation, facilitating and overseeing a digitally enabled environment for efficiency and sustainable growth in accordance with MM’s strategy. This involves consultancy across the team and with external users, creating a brief for specialist consultancy / support to help us find the right solution(s), working closely with the appointed consultant to implement the solution(s), and facilitating or providing initial training and support for the team during implementation.
• Providing or organising ongoing support and training beyond the digital review to ensure confidence across the team with using our new infrastructure to its full potential, helping us to work efficiently and effectively.
• Ensuring digital processes are in place to enable the organisation to easily engage, onboard and manage new partnerships and project opportunities, and oversee administration within these areas of work.
• Overseeing development of digital tools and resources such as I’M IN and the Virtual Learning Environment used by Musicians of Change participants and graduates to improve usability, accessibility and engagement.

Data protection

• Managing our data as the organisation’s Data Lead (currently titled Data Protection Officer), ensuring ongoing compliance with GDPR, focusing on appropriate, effective and safe data collection, usage and storage (online and offline), and helping to build the wider team’s confidence with and understanding around best practice in data protection.

Governance

• Supporting the CEO with general governance support including the organisation of quarterly Board meetings and Board development arrangements, meeting minuting where appropriate, updating Trustee information, and ensuring compliance with the Charity Commission, Companies House and any other regulatory bodies.

General

• Undertaking relevant training, ensuring ongoing development of knowledge via conferences, reading and networking.
• Being an advocate for and exemplifying Music Masters’ core values of excellence and inclusion.
