The Programme Coordinator role 

Due to the exciting expansion of our programmes we are seeking a new team member on a fixed term basis o support our next year of growth and delivery.

In this role you will provide crucial customer service and administration to support the delivery of our inspiring employability and skills-focused workshops in schools.

Hybrid working

This is a hybrid role. You will be working from home and join Team Together Days in a co-working space in London 2-3 individual days each month. These days are considered commuting days. Background to School Food Matters

School Food Matters (SFM) exists to teach children about food and to improve children’s access to healthy, sustainable food during their time at school. We provide fully funded food education programmes to schools. Our experience delivering these programmes informs and strengthens our campaigns, bringing the voices of children, parents and teachers to government policy.

Job Purpose

· To manage an exciting, new programme in Southwark implementing a whole school approach (WSA) to food

· To promote, develop and deliver the programme across nurseries, primaries, secondaries and SEN schools in Southwark

· To ensure that the programme is delivered on time and on budget

Key Tasks include:

• Onboard and line-manage a Project Officer and volunteers to support delivery, providing training as required
• Conduct desk research to group schools and nurseries using a RAG rating, based on level of support required to achieve a WSA to food
• Create a detailed project plan for delivery
• Support with the development of resources and training packages for schools
• Work with an early years’ consultant to tailor resources and training to nursery settings

· Recruit schools to take part in the programme

· Build relationships with teachers, teaching assistants, cooks and senior leaders in schools to improve the food they offer their students

· Support schools to complete school food action plans and polices

· Deliver role-specific training to key staff in schools (training provided if necessary)

· Deliver in-person engagement sessions and online workshops to support schools to achieve their action plans

· Work closely with Southwark Council’s School Food Team to support their aims through the Southwark School Meals Transformation Programme

• Maintain an excellent relationship with Southwark Council, and support with written and verbal reports

· Manage the budget for the programme in collaboration with SFM’s Finance & HR Manager

· Collect data and maintain accurate records on Airtable relating to the programme

• Work closely with our Impact & Strategy Manager and Evaluation Officer to complete all monitoring and evaluation
• Gather content for our website and social media platforms
• Keep line manager updated on progress

· Keep up to date with safeguarding requirements and reporting procedures

• Contribute to the smooth-running of SFM at this time of growth
• Maintain the ethos of the charity and positively promote our work at all times

· The Project Coordinator will also undertake any other tasks relevant to the affairs of SFM that may arise from time to time.  Therefore, being flexible and approaching the job with an open and positive mindset is essential!

Alongside a focus on supporting planning activities, the Global and Devolved Nations Coordinator will help coordinate staff and doctors attending national and global events, liaise with our overseas partners and arrange member gatherings. We’re looking for someone to work with schools across Lewisham to improve the education and health potential of Young Carers. You’ll work alongside our wider team supporting Unpaid Carers across the borough.

You’ll develop relationships with schools and school staff, raising awareness and supporting the identification of Young Carers within education settings, and supporting the development of policy, guidance and resources. You’ll work one-to-one and with groups of Young Carers, and carry out home-based visits to offer support interventions.  

As a Young Carers Schools Coordinator, you will also support the planning and delivery of the service’s activity package, including respite activities, online groups and face-to-face sessions.

Applicants should have relevant personal or professional experience of working with children, young people, and families in social care, health, education or voluntary and community sector. You’ll need a practical understanding of barriers faced by Young Carers, and an awareness of cultural differences and access to services. ABOUT DEMOCRACY CLASSROOM 

Democracy Classroom is a partnership between over 100 civil society organisations that supports young people to engage in elections and democracy. The network supports collaboration through newsletters, training, meet up’s and an annual conference, as well as providing resources and training for teachers and youth practitioners. Democracy Classroom pools the collective support of the sector through the Democracy Classroom Platform, where teachers and youth workers can access the collective support of the membership. 

Following the recent General Election, the network has experienced growth and is now preparing to support upcoming elections, votes at 16 and new developments such as changes to democratic education and the curriculum review. The network is non-partisan and works across all 4 nations in the UK. 

The aims of the network include: 

Increasing the number of young people engaging with democracy and elections.

Increasing the number of teachers and youth workers delivering democratic education, and strengthening their capacity to deliver impactful democratic engagement and voter registration activities in schools, colleges and youth settings across the UK.

Improving coordination between organisations engaging young people across the youth, education and democracy sectors, through growing the Democracy Classroom network.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The post holder will work with the Director and the Programme Manager of Democracy Classroom to support the growth of the Democracy Classroom network by managing the website / platform. They will:

• Liaise with partners to compile learning resources and training opportunities to share on the platform.
• Add resources, training opportunities and other relevant information to the platform as required.
• Ensure the platform is kept up to date and accessible.
• Support Democracy Classroom communication channels - producing Democracy Classroom newsletters and creating engaging social media content to highlight the work of partners, their learning resources and training opportunities, on the platform.

The post holder will also:

• Coordinate training for teachers and youth workers to deliver election education materials.
• Manage the Democracy Classroom database. 
• Assist with monitoring and evaluation.
• Provide administrative support for the Democracy Classroom network and other The Politics Project programmes and activities where required.

The job is based on a 12 month, fixed term contract (including a 6-month probation period), with opportunities for extension. 

The Politics Project is based in London, and the post holder will be expected to work from the office at least two days a week. The hours of work are 37.5 hrs per week. Occasional travel to elsewhere in the UK and working unsocial hours in the evenings and at weekends may be required.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Project Indigo, an LGBTQIA+ youth project run out of Off Centre at Family Action that fosters a safe space and sense of community amongst LGBTQIA+ young people in Hackney.  We support young people aged 16 to 25 through offering them a weekly facilitated social space and 1-to-1 support and advice sessions.  Having run for almost a decade, Project Indigo is well known in Hackney, and works alongside local LGBTQIA+ projects, as well as mental health and youth services.  Project Indigo maintains a youth-led and person-centred approach, with this role being developed in consultation with our members to address the barriers they face in accessing training and development opportunities.

We are seeking a Peer Mentoring Coordinator to develop and manage our new LGBTQIA+ Peer Mentoring Programme, training and supporting Project Indigo members to train as mentors and deliver mentoring sessions with younger LGBTQIA+ people in the local community.  You will enrich Project Indigo’s holistic offer by providing young people with the opportunity to access training, qualifications and work experience while receiving high quality support tailored to their needs.

Off Centre is a service that provides a range of targeted mental health focused support services to young people aged 16 to 25 who registered with a City and Hackney GP.  These include: individual, counselling and psychotherapy, individual and group art psychotherapy, key-work support, out of hours drop-in service on Thursday evenings, targeted provision for children and young people of African, Caribbean and mixed heritage (ACH), and an Information and Advice provision.

Main Responsibilities:

· You will develop and lead Project Indigo’s new Peer Mentoring Programme.

· You will understand young mentors’ needs and goals, and provide high quality supervisory support throughout the training and mentoring process.

· You will develop a structure for the Mentoring programme, consulting with relevant organisations, finding appropriate partners, and keeping accurate records to monitor progress for administrative and evaluative purposes.

· You will offer sensitive supervisory support to young LGBTQIA+ mentors, supporting their diverse need by maintaining an empathetic, intersectional and youth-led approach.

Main Requirements (for details check the job description and person specification):

· You will be a confident communicator with proven experience of working in a supportive role with LGBTQIA+ young people[SR3]  and/or evidence of in-depth knowledge of issues relating to LGBTQIA+ young people, in particular trans and gender diverse young people.

· You will be empathetic and maintain an understanding of the social issues impacting young LGBTQIA+ people.

· You will have excellent organisational skills and be able to manage your time and workload effectively.

· You will have an understanding of risk management, health and safety issues and the ability in accordance with local and organisational safeguarding policies.

Young Citizens is an education charity on a mission to empower young people to actively engage in society. For over three decades, we’ve been giving young people the tools to understand society’s institutions and tackle its biggest issues. We are a national charity that makes big impact with a small central team and networks of volunteers.

This is a new role that will help Young Citizens ensure that our portfolio of long-standing and newly developed educational programmes and events are of the highest quality for schools and young people across the UK.

You will support the coordination team in delivering a series of events throughout the year, including our longest-running programme, the Bar Mock Trial Competition, which involves 22 events over six consecutive weeks in November. We work with schools, venues, and volunteers to provide inspiring learning experiences and programmes for children and young people.

You will contribute directly to our mission by leading the delivery of our school events programme. This includes responsibility for all aspects of event planning, delivery, and management, partner and volunteer development and management, audience development and evaluation, and events budgeting.

Our office is based near Aldgate East Underground station. This is a hybrid role requiring office attendance a minimum of 2 days a week during non-delivery periods, and up to 3-4 days during event delivery months.

Khulisa’s new strategy is focused on evolving our delivery approach for lasting impact. This involved making significant changes to our programme delivery and operating model. This shift towards prioritising long-term outcomes and an evolved delivery approach requires an expert Data and Insight Coordinator who can play a central role in data management and analysis, systems development, MEAL (Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning), and storytelling.

Whilst this role requires proven experience of quantitative skills, we are open to candidates with limited or no experience in qualitative research. This is a varied role and there will be opportunities for fieldwork e.g. conducting interviews, facilitating and moderating focus groups, etc. We can provide training and support to help you develop the necessary qualitative skills.

The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about data and eager to contribute to our ongoing efforts to improve our data-driven approach. This is an exciting opportunity to join our new service supporting Carers across City of London to improve their health and wellbeing, and access support that meets their needs.

The team work holistically with Carers to understand their individual circumstances and level of need. You’ll carry out home visits and community-based meetings, co-produce support plans, and develop effective relationships with Carers, families, and professionals. You will also support Carers to complete written forms and applications, draft letters, and advocate with third parties.         

You’ll build on your local knowledge to signpost and facilitate access for Carers to support services, including financial and benefit advice, housing, health and safety home systems, and leisure and social activities. You will also support the development of escalation plans so that Carers are prepared for unforeseen circumstances that would impact negatively on ability to care.

Together with colleagues, you will plan and deliver the service’s activity package, including coffee mornings, drop-in sessions, activities, online and face to face groups, and peer support forums. There will also be opportunities to promote the service by attending meetings and forums, and to deliver training sessions to professionals and community organisations so that they have the skills to identify Carers.

Applicants should have relevant personal or professional experience of working with Carers and/or vulnerable adults or children in a social care, health, education or voluntary and community sector. You’ll need a practical understanding of barriers faced by Carers, and an awareness of cultural differences and access to services. Speaking Bengali would be an advantage.

School Food Matters (SFM) exists to teach children about food and to improve children’s access to healthy, sustainable food during their time at school. We provide fully funded food education programmes to schools. Our experience delivering these programmes informs and strengthens our campaigns, bringing the voices of children, parents and teachers to government policy.

About Young Marketeers

Young Marketeers is our flagship food education programme which gives primary school children an opportunity to learn about food production, grow their own veg, and set up a stall at their local community market. The programme began in 2013 at London’s Borough Market.  Now, thanks to the support of The National Lottery’s Community Fund, we are taking the programme to cities across England.

Job Purpose

· To manage our Young Marketeers programme across England

Key Tasks include:

Staff management and training

• Provide support and training to a team of freelance Project Officers/Gardeners across the country
• Organise induction of new staff, including development of resources and training packages

Partner relationships

• Conduct desk research on schools and partners in new cities for recruitment

· Maintain good relationships with freelance team, schools and local partners, and visit regions

• Maintain an excellent relationship with funders, and support with written and verbal reports

Budgeting, monitoring and evaluation

· Manage the budget for the programme in collaboration with SFM’s Finance & HR Manager

· Ensure that the freelance team collects data and that accurate records are maintained on Airtable

• Work closely with our Impact & Strategy Manager and Evaluation Officer to complete all monitoring and evaluation processes
• Keep line manager updated on progress

Communications and general

• Gather content for our website and social media platforms
• Contribute to the smooth-running of SFM at this time of growth
• Keep up to date with safeguarding requirements and reporting procedures
• Maintain the ethos of the charity and positively promote our work at all times
