The Child and Family Specialist role is part of an exciting and innovative partnership with the London Borough of Ealing to provide an early intervention service in the community and in schools to children, young people and their families. The Ealing Early Intervention Service has been commissioned to provide direct and systemic work to address moderate mental health needs.

The Child and Family Specialist will work in partnership with schools, children and families to assess and respond to the psychological needs of children experiencing social, emotional, mental health or behavioural difficulties through undertaking assessments and providing interventions. The post-holder will also: provide specialist advice and support to school staff in the identification of mental health needs of children and accessing appropriate resources; and actively contribute to outcome monitoring and service improvement.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a commissioned service delivering direct interventions for young people and their families. The post-holder will offer a range of clinical activities to address mental health needs in children and young people, including direct individual and group work with young people and parents/carers and joint work with other professionals.  The clinical case presentation is mostly moderate risk and requires insight into handling complex clinical cases (e.g. neurodiverse and trauma-inform practice) and appropriate responses to safeguarding concerns.

The Child and Family Specialist will join a small team of 12 people in a fast-paced working dynamic. The post-holder will be supported through supervision and will deliver consultation, training, and workshops to non-mental health staff.

Location

Hybrid (a mixture of home/onsite working): staff are working onsite for at least 20% of their working hours, either at Greenford Service Centre (UB6 9LB) and occasionally at Anna Freud, 4-8 Rodney Street, London N1 9JH.

Job Title – Solicitor - Senior Solicitor (Education Law Team)

Hours - 35 hours per week (but part-time minimum 21 hours per week will be considered)

What the job involves

As a Policy and Health Influencing Officer, you’ll be helping deliver impactful changes that measurably improve men’s experience in their access to and quality of prostate cancer diagnosis, treatment, care and support. You’ll be joining a multi-disciplinary team which also includes volunteers and partners all working towards the same aims.

You’ll be supporting complex and politically sensitive projects to drive change across the UK’s health services and other providers at local, regional and national levels. Bringing together your knowledge and experience of engaging with stakeholders, on a one-to-one and mass level basis, you’ll effect change by utilising effective tools and approaches and deliver projects or campaigns achieving our strategic aims.

Through building relationships with health services and systems you’ll be able to understand the obstacles to improving care and work collaboratively with others to help overcome these. As part of your role, you’ll also be developing resources for campaigning, influencing and policy work using a host of digital tools (including social media and online channels). By keeping up to date with health news and the changing environment in all areas relating to prostate cancer will help to influence your work.

What we want from you

We’re looking for an excellent communicator, you’ll be communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external at all levels. With an excellent knowledge of UK health services, policy and systems you’ll understand how they operate politically, financially and clinically. Using these skills, you’ll have experience in influencing strategic partnerships and building relationships with those that can influence healthcare matters and bring about change improving the experience of men.

You’ll have project management experience with the ability to gain engagement with health, political and public stakeholders. In addition, you’ll have experience in working on change campaigns which involve public participation using social media and online channels.

Although not essential for the role, it would be beneficial if you have experience in either driving service improvements, interventions to improve health outcomes, developing and influencing local or national policies or engaging with politicians to deliver campaign objectives.

About the role:

This role is responsible for developing and expanding the membership offerings of LFBF, including chartered and corporate memberships, while also overseeing bursaries, scholarships, and awards. The position involves cultivating senior-level relationships with key clients, with Profit & Loss responsibilities for charity funds, and contributing to strategic decisions as part of the Senior Leadership team. Additionally, the role-holder will drive the integration of the Centre for the Study in Financial Innovation (CSFI) into our broader strategy, ensuring alignment and successful implementation.

This is an exciting strategic leadership role which enjoys both the flexibility of hybrid working and flexible part-time hours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Creating and implementing strategies to promote LFBF's chartered and membership, while exploring and building new revenue streams.
• Managing and growing relationships with UK and international banks and financial services providers, seeking sponsorships and partnerships to support our objectives.
• Developing a strategy for integrating CSFI into LFBF, including launching and promoting CSFI events and managing its brand through digital channels.
• Identifying and establishing partnerships with educational institutions and organisations to facilitate scholarships, bursaries, internships, and specialist qualifications.
• Leading presentations to secure commercial commitments, gathering market feedback, and contributing to the development of LFBF’s brand identity.
• Taking responsibility for the profit and loss for LFBF’s training arm, LFBF Learning Ltd., and ensuring alignment with LFBF’s strategic growth plans.

You will have:

• Worked in a senior business development role, preferably at Director level.
• Proven experience in successfully developing and implementing strategic marketing and business development plans.
• Demonstrated the ability to manage and grow a portfolio of clients, with a focus on building long-term relationships.
• Experience in developing and managing partnerships with educational institutions, professional bodies, and securing sponsorships for events.
• Previous experience managing a profit and loss statement for a business unit or department.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and effectively manage projects.
• Excellent communication, presentation, influencing, and negotiation skills, with a strong ability to collaborate with and persuade stakeholders at all levels.

This is a training position with the post holders undertaking training at Kings College London as well as working in our face to face frontline Mental Health Support Teams in schools and/or community services. You will be taught to deliver evidence based guided self-help interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. The post holders will use their newly developed skills to support children, young people and parent/carers who are referred into the MHST or community services and you will receive clinical supervision to support your professional development.

Information about the Training & the Job Role
 

This is a fixed term post with this training year funded by the NHS. After successful completion of the course the fixed term training contract will end however we will seek recurrent funding. Applicants will be encouraged to stay within their existing service providers or apply for vacant posts within our services and will be provided support and advice in job applications.

This full-time role will be best suited for applicants who are able to balance a busy work and study schedule, with frequent travel across different sites for university and work. You will be an employee at CDI or OTR but also enrolled on a Postgraduate Diploma course. As this is a Postgraduate level training, you will be required to study and perform at academic level. Applicants must be prepared to work towards their studies outside of protected study time (such as on weekends and after work). Protected study time or teaching days are typically 2 days a week during term (with possibility of extra university days near the start) and will be a mixture of in person and online sessions. Applicants must be willing to travel into London to attend their lectures.

The Postgraduate Diploma in Child and Young Person Psychological Trainings (CYP-PT) Education Mental Health Practice (EMHP) & Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP)

All applicants to the programmes above will be required to undertake Postgraduate Diploma level training at Kings College London alongside a work placement. Please note that you will need to submit an application form to Kings College London for a place on the Postgraduate Diploma in Child and Young Person Psychological Trainings (CYP-PT), in addition to the job application that you make to us. It is strongly advised to submit an early application to prevent the delay of a decision.

Following success at the job interview all trainees will be required to attend teaching for up to three days per week for one year. Teaching and lectures will be mostly based at King’s College London Campus in Denmark Hill. Students will be taught using a combination of lecture style workshops and small group seminars. Assessment on the programme will comprise of a combination or written, oral and video assessments. On successful completion of the course, students will graduate with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education Mental Health Practice or Children’s Wellbeing Practice.

Entrance criteria is detailed in the Person Specification and applications to the programme will be reviewed against this - applicants who do not fulfil the academic criteria may still be considered on a case-by-case basis. 

Note that applications will not be considered from applicants who are formally registered (or re-sitting examinations) for another programme of study at KCL or any other Higher Education Institution.

Your new company
I am working with a charity based in the heart of London, and we are looking for a Research Grants Manager to join the team ASAP. You will work closely with the Trustees to co-ordinate the Research and Welfare grants for the charity. You will be working with the marketing and comms team to translate technical information into simple to understand English, so this can be a part of the Marketing strategy. You will be responsible for the ongoing grant administration and portfolio management. This includes the launch of grant calls and peer reviews.

Your new role
The successful postholder will:

• Manage the portfolio of the charity's active Research and Welfare grants. Monitor grant progress against agreed milestones, plus outcomes and impact by reviewing narrative progress reports and Researchfish submissions. Ensure timely reporting and build strong working relationships with the award holders.
• Work closely with the Trustees and Chair to deliver research funding calls to standards, including having the scope clearly defined and approved by the Board of Trustees,
• Co-ordinate the Trustee assessment and approval of applications for Welfare Grants.
• Monitor expenditure on awarded grants against planned budgets and ensure projects adhere to the charity's financial policies. Process invoices for awarded projects, supported by the Research Grants and Trusts Officer.
• Capture and monitor the outputs, outcomes and impact arising from the portfolio of Research and Welfare grants. Liaise with the Marketing and Communications team regarding any potential case studies and press releases to demonstrate the impact of the charity's investment.
• Lead the review and refresh of the Charity's Research Strategy.
• Manage and grow the charity's relationships with partners, including research grant co-funders, and identify new opportunities for collaboration.

Ataxia UK is looking for a skilled and dedicated Specialist Ataxia Nurse for our new community-based nursing service, focused on supporting individuals with ataxia in the South West of England. As a Specialist Ataxia Nurse, you will provide personalised, face-to-face, and remote support to patients, assisting them in navigating the NHS and social care systems. Your Role: Membership, Programmes and Events Support Assistant (Fixed Term Contract)

Contract: Fixed Term for six months - November 2024 to April 2025. We are open to applications from a PhD student or Early Career Academic.

Hours: 21 (0.6FTE). The post holder will also be expected to attend and support the PSA25 Annual Conference taking place in Birmingham from 14 -16 April 2025. 

Salary:  0.6 FTE of £25k. The post holder will additionally be compensated for in-person attendance and providing support during the Annual Conference period.

Location: All roles are based at our offices in Camden London but the PSA currently supports its staff to work remotely. Post-holders will be required, however, to come into our offices regularly (normally once a week on a Wednesday). The Membership, Programmes and Events team is a friendly bunch who work closely together with responsibility for operations and output across a wide range of our activities. These include: membership, networks, specialist groups, programmes, communications, events including the Annual Lecture and PSA Annual Conference. We are looking for someone to join the team in the six-month run up to, and including attendance at, the PSA25 Annual Conference which is our major event of the year.

Your role and responsibilities:

In terms of the PSA Annual Conference these may include, but are not limited to:

· Responding to standard/general conference email enquiries

· Communicating information and instructions to all participants

· Supporting logistics, operations and communication of information to participants via Ex Ordo (abstract management system) and our virtual conference platform

· Monitoring Ex Ordo data - for example, identifying whether someone is a paper-giver or not and emailing participants for clarification where necessary

· Communicating information and instructions to all participants

· Supporting exhibitors by communicating deadlines and details for their conference space

· Organising catering requirements to cover the conference schedule

· Sourcing venues and menu choices for the Conference Dinner and Conference Drinks events

· Supporting the award of PSA academic prizes including production of certificates

· Monitoring the Prizes in-box and helping with the response to any enquiries

· Collating Academic Prizes nominations made via JotForm for trustees and prize judges

· Joining the team in Birmingham to manage the Annual Conference, including the one-day Undergraduate conference

· You may also be asked to support research and administration related to future PSA conferences

In terms of Membership, Networks and Specialist Groups these may include, but are not limited to:

· Supporting the reconciliation of membership data in readiness for our new database

· Assisting with general email enquiries and emailing all/specific groups of members

· Helping to prepare the data for the issue of December/January membership renewals and recording appropriately on the database

· Responding to general/standard emails from our Specialist Groups

· Replying to enquiries/requests from our Early Career Network and Teaching & Learning Network

· Facilitating Specialist Group and Network digital events including arranging Zooms as required

· Collating articles/announcements for the regular e-newsletter

Additional information: there are currently seven members of PSA staff under the leadership of the CEO. This post reports to the Membership, Events & Programmes Manager who works with two Officers in the team.
