This is a new and pivotal leadership role at The Green Estate at an exciting time of change. With a new CEO, Leadership Team, Board and Strategy in place we are seeking an experienced professional fundraiser to develop and deliver our first fundraising and investment strategy to help us achieve our mission and 2030 goal!

This will involve delivering ambitious fundraising targets from a range of sources including grants, donations, corporate and philanthropic fundraising and investment. The postholder will need to ‘hold the pen’ and produce high quality funding applications and investment proposals.

The postholder will provide leadership and business development support for expert and talented service managers and work with the rest of the Leadership team to grow the income, impact and influence of The Green Estate.

The postholder will need to be commercially minded, have an excellent track record and expertise in fundraising from multiple sources and have a commitment to our mission and values.

This role will require significant fundraising experience across multiple income streams, combined with leadership qualities and a track record of delivering ambitious fundraising targets and business growth.

Action Village India (AVI) is a small UK based organisation that since 1989, has been supporting Indian partner organisations who work alongside villagers in some of the most remote parts of rural India so they can improve their lives, livelihoods and resilience. We work towards an India which is just, fair and inclusive, where all people regardless of sex, gender identity, ethnicity, caste, religion can benefit from the country’s economic development and lift themselves out of poverty.

At the heart of our work, are our partnerships; many of which have spanned decades.  Our partner organisations are led by Indians and whether these are large or small organisations, or social movements, all work directly at the grassroots level across rural India – from Bihar and Jharkhand in the North, in Odisha and down to Tamil Nadu in the South. JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Fundraising and Partnerships Manager

Job Purpose: To develop fundraising proposals and raise funds from trusts and foundations. To raise funds for Action Village India through our trading activities and events.

Reports to: Executive Director

Salary: £30,000 pro rata

Hours:21 hours per week (equivalent to 3 working days) – ideally including Wednesday and Thursday.

By agreement there is an option to work an additional 11 events days over the full year. This is related to WOMAD and our other events. This is revised annually based on the agreed workplan.

Location:Dalston, London (5 Balls Pond Road, N1 4AX)

Contract: Permanent, pending a successful 6-month probationary period

Annual Leave: 25 days (pro rata)

Pension scheme: Action Village India provides access to an auto-enrolment pension plan through the Pensions Trust for all staff who have completed 6 months of satisfactory service with 3% employer contribution.

FUNDRAISING

1.1 Fundraising Management and Donor Liaison:

• In line with Action Village India’s project funding priorities, research and develop fundraising proposals for new and ongoing projects to be submitted to major donors, trusts and foundations as well as other appropriate sources.
• Keep up to date spreadsheets and databases tracking donor deadlines, the status of applications and reporting deadlines.
• Ensure that material from partners for monitoring reports is developed as needed and work to ensure that reports are submitted as required and to agreed deadlines.
• Support the Executive Director with fundraising and reporting to individuals and trusts.

1.2Events

• Plan and manage, in collaboration with the Action Village India team, the events for the year
• Attend Action Village India fundraising events (evenings and weekends as agreed with the team)
• Attend WOMAD festival and support the Action Village India team with the successful running of the Action Village India stall and presence at the festival.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

EXPERIENCE

• Ideal minimum of three years proven experience in fundraising from trusts and foundations, events and individual giving.
• Proven experience in writing project proposals and reports for funders.
• Proven success in raising funds from trusts and foundations in the UK, working alone or perhaps as part of a larger fundraising team.
• Experience co-organising events and fundraising activities.

KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS

• Knowledge of Trusts and Foundations and institutional fundraisers particularly in the UK.
• Knowledge of the international solidarity and development landscape and/or familiar with funder processes, databases and requirements.
• Knowledge of Charity Law, Data Protection, Fundraising Code of Practice and other relevant marketing or fundraising standards in the UK.
• Ability to produce high quality written project proposals, narrative and financial reports and communications materials for a range of audiences.

We're looking for a Media Officer who can help us amplify the voices of women leading the fight against poverty and spread CARE’s expert opinions on key humanitarian issues.

Job Purpose: 

The purpose of this role is to project manage the WAGGGS European Guide Conference (EGC) and the Europe Guide and Scout Conference, jointly with the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) and the Vienna Scouts.

More about the event:   

The EGC and the EGSC are delivered together as a 4-day event with some elements online. The event will take place in Vienna, Austria in July 2025 in partnership with the host organisation, the Vienna Scouts. This is the main platform for decision makers in our 42 European Member Organisations to gather for networking and consultation on the direction of travel. The International Commissioners (IC) Forum will take place from 5-8th December in Malta and is the platform for stakeholder engagement prior to the conferences.   

Key Responsibilities: 

1. Project manage the delivery of the in-person EGC to ensure that the event fulfils the objectives and is delivered on time and within the WAGGGS budget.

2. Manage relationship with WOSM and the Vienna Scouts to ensure communication is smooth and that WAGGGS’ input to the EGSC is provided within agreed timelines.

3. Build and manage relationships with WAGGGS staff, volunteers, partners and Membership Organisations, including working closely with volunteers around the Conferences.

4. Manage the budget for the EGC. 

5. Manage logistics and coordinate the content of the EGC in collaboration with Europe region staff team and volunteers.  Support the EGSC with these elements.

6. Support the development of the event risk assessment. 

7. Oversee the conferences’ circulars in collaboration with communications colleagues. 

8. Coordinate and monitor conference planning team in collaboration with the conference Lead. 

9. Ensure the conferences comply with WAGGGS visual identity.

10. Support with the registration process and conference inbox where needed. 

11. Create an evaluation survey and draft the final EGC report in additional to providing input into the EGSC report. 

12. Support the organisation of the IC Forum in partnership with the lead organisation, WOSM and the host organisation, Malta Guides and Scouts.  This will include final logistics & final content planning arrangements, input into post-event evaluation.

You will be working in a supportive, friendly, and welcoming team whilst having oversight of a caseload of women, who may be under the supervision of the National Probation Service or in custody, enhancing the offer of holistic support and advocacy services available to them throughout their journey.

Building relationships with other statutory and non-statutory agencies in local communities is vital to build referral pathways and provide a whole system approach to supporting individuals.

To carry out this work you will meet women in the community in your designated borough and co-locate with other agencies including the National Probation Service, as well as regularly attending Advance’s North London vibrant Women’s Centre/office space.

You will be a creative self-starter who will support the service and look for innovative solutions to support clients with complex needs. You are confident professional relationship builder and has good awareness of Safeguarding procedures. Strong Administration skills and understanding of compliant behaviours also experience of supporting. With good knowledge of the criminal justice system and awareness of other support provisions.

About the job
 

This role will be responsible for the operational management of all LSESU buildings and our state-of-the-art Sports and fitness facilities in the Marshall Building and Saw Swee Hock, administering facility bookings and responsible for all health and safety and compliance of these spaces. They will ensure student community focused results are delivered through exceptional customer service to LSE’s diverse membership and other users. 
 

This role will deliver income from external hire of facilities, to drive surplus, develop offers, improve quality, customer service and inclusivity, seeking diversification of activity and income opportunities. And they will manage a team consisting of permanent and student staff, external contractors, and volunteers.

Responsibilities

Raising the profile of the Foundation by implementing an imaginative and inspiring programme in Marketing and Communications under the direction of the Head of Business Development.

Work with Head of Grants and Programmes to plan and timetable promotion of new grants programmes and regular promotion of ongoing programmes. Working at times with external marketing and comms teams to agree key messaging.

Compile and share a range of inspiring donor, charity and community stories and case studies which bring to life the Foundation’s impact.

Support, maintain and update the Foundation’s website, ensuring that it is inspiring, engaging and up to date with content. Help set up and access additional platforms as required e.g. online donations, raffles, other Trusts who are contracted to the Foundation.

Develop the Foundation’s wider digital presence through social media and use of content marketing to raise awareness of the Foundation’s expertise, share good news stories and promote available funding e.g. through regular charity and business newsletters.

Under the guidance and leadership of the Head of BD and CEO provide specific public relations support, including preparing press releases and producing articles for local magazines and relevant publications.

Maintain a library of relevant and up to date marketing materials, photographs illustrating the Foundation’s work and partnership logos and guidance for use. Manage permissions and GDPR for all communications work and marketing collateral.

Attend UK Community Foundations (UKCF) Marcomms meetings.

Work with the CEO to prepare and manage quarterly Board meetings for Foundation and as required other partners (incl JCT) at an executive admin level.

Preparing for meetings: prep of papers, managing dates and availability; minute taking and general administration for Board level members under clear and strict requirements around confidentiality.

Regular updating of requirements of Board incl: EDI data and references; annual Conflict of Interest; DBS and other requirements.

Supporting Chair of Trustee in their role as required and in an administrative support.

Support general office administration such as maintenance of equipment inventories and training records and PAT testing schedules and others task to ensure smooth running of the main office.

Organize events to showcase the Foundation’s work, including functions for donors, potential donors, community and voluntary groups.

If you have the IAAS senior caseworker accreditation, you will be the key advisor with regards to Legal Aid work, including prioritising Legal Aid cases and ensuring that Legal Aid is used whenever appropriate throughout the team.
