PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

About the job

Due to a restructure, we are seeking a confident and experienced Modern Slavery Case Worker with a wide range of skills and importantly, a ‘can do’ approach.

As the Modern Slavery Case Worker, you will work as a member of a close and supportive team providing a safe environment for vulnerable female adults and their dependents up to the age of 1 from outside the UK who have experienced trauma and exploitation. You will provide high quality practical and emotional support to the residents within a risk assessed safe house setting. The role will involve assisting clients with increasing practical skills and self-confidence to empower and enable independent and safe living.

You will be expected to line manage Case Worker Assistants and bank staff. Additionally, you will be allocated a caseload of up to 5 service users to support.

This role is mainly Monday to Friday, with occasional evening and weekend shifts. You will be required to be part of an on-call rota and able to get to and from the project if it is necessary to attend the project whilst on-call.

You must have experience of working with vulnerable adults, the ability to work within a ‘risk associated’ environment and, ideally, experience of working within a residential or community setting with non-UK citizens.

Administration / IT skills and health and safety awareness are essential. Modern Day Slavery, Immigration and knowledge of the asylum process would be desirable. Please also note that there is a substantial amount of administrative work involved in this role.

About the role

You will help maintain our existing stable income but also develop other income streams, expand our supporter networks, and build our sustainability for the future. Skills and experience

You will have experience of developing successful grant applications and proposals for support to trusts and foundations. You will have digital fundraising fluency such as using social media to build support and run crowdfunding campaigns.

You will be an outstanding written communicator with the ability to absorb and synthesize complex information and translate it into compelling written cases for support. You should have excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills with the ability to relate to, influence, and persuade internal and external stakeholders at all levels. Myeloma Patients Europe (MPE) is offering an exciting position as Communications Manager (Digital and Social Media) in a dynamic European non-profit patient advocacy organisation. This role will help deliver the MPE communications strategy, providing both strategic and operational support across the organisation, and ensuring that MPE is increasing our reach and impact to improve the lives and experiences of myeloma patients.

As Communications Manager (Digital and Social Media), you will work with the Head of Communications and other key staff across to the organisation to:

• Implement MPE communications strategy, monitor and improve MPE reach, and increase impact with key stakeholders
• Develop and disseminate strong and relevant messaging for key stakeholders     
• Monitor and evaluate our performance and reach across digital and social communications channels

This will include working on the following core activities and tasks:

Digital communications (40%)

• Writing, editing and updating content for the MPE website (i.e. using WordPress, Elementor and other content management systems)
• Developing written and graphic content for MPE programme specific websites (such as MPE Navigator and Myeloma Access Atlas)
• Collaborating with relevant MPE staff on digital content development and publication

The Green Doctor Trainee will work alongside our experienced Green Doctors to help residents use energy efficiently, reduce bills, and to stay warm and well in their homes. The role will include supporting customers by telephone, travelling in the local area to deliver home energy visits, fitting small energy-saving measures (sometimes involving working at height), and taking part in promotional activities to spread the word about our service. You will learn how to use equipment and tools, gather and record data accurately, and ultimately provide high-quality advice to help people who are most in need.

Overall Duties of the Commercial Bid Writer & Fundraiser  will include:

• Taking the lead in identifying, coordinating, and managing tendering opportunities, processes, and contracts for TACT.
