Senior Young People Support Worker

About the Role
The Senior Young People Support Worker is responsible for contributing to the effective and safe delivery of the service on a day-to-day basis. You will hold responsibility for the safety and well-being of all clients, volunteers, visitors and staff in the service. You will lead in ensuring that the housing management is properly maintained and the service supports clients to sustain their tenancy agreement, develop skills and resilience, and participate in positive and successful move-on.
Your work will be underpinned by the organisation’s Endeavour model of assets-based, psychologically informed delivery, the aim of which is to ensure that every client leaves a service with the skills and resilience to be confident and self-determining in their lives.
Key responsibilities include:
- You will always ensure the safety and wellbeing of clients in the service including ensuring that Safeguarding and emergency alert procedures are followed as laid out in the organisation’s Policy and Procedures.
- You will ensure the high quality of risk and needs assessments, SMART outcomes-based support plans and case files for clients of your line reports.
- You will deliver one-to-one and group support opportunities within their accommodation and in the local community aimed at increasing resilience in the clients we work with.
- You will proactively partner with consortium colleagues, Lambeth and local agencies including statutory teams, to support the wellbeing of clients following data protection and information sharing protocols.
- You will be flexible, reflective and creative in your engagement with clients and personalised in your support to them.
- You will support all clients to participate in Education, Training, Employment and Volunteering opportunities as appropriate to the development of their skills, assets and aspirations, through facilitating the work of the organisation’s Community Programmes Team.
About You
You will need to have the following skills and experience:
- An understanding and commitment to working in an assets-based way.
- Good level of experience working with people who have experienced homelessness, poor mental health, substance use or have a history of living in care.
- Relevant life experience is desirable
- Experience in using Risk Assessments and Support Planning.

The AFRUCA Child Protection Family Support Service sits within AFRUCA as one of our most impactful programmes targeting families from a range of ethnic backgrounds across England and Wales. The service works closely with local authorities children’s services in cases involving families on child protection plans or in court proceedings. We provide direct one to one training and support for parents to aid their ability to provide appropriate parenting and ensure a safer, happier home environment for their children.
The AFRUCA Child Protection Service currently has a team of five qualified social workers and supports over 50 families each year. We also provide a therapeutic service where children are being reunified with their parents. We are establishing a child protection legal drop in service for families in contact with children’s services and an advocacy service for parents in the child protection system.
Most of our families are referred by local authorities children’s services as a result of cultural and religious practices which are deemed harmful to children’s well-being. We offer qualified social workers who do not wish to work in the statutory sector with an alternative approach to practising social work where empathy, kindness and support is key to our work with families. Our ultimate aim is a reduction of children in Black and Ethnic communities going into or remaining in foster care. Line Manager: Digital Communications Lead
Your responsibilities will include:
Social media delivery and community management
- Plan and deliver inspiring and effective social media content, including as part of engagement campaigns, fundraising appeals and initiative launches, and in support of our partners and members.
- Produce text- and video-/graphic-based social media posts and campaigns that are both suited to our target audiences and adapted for the most appropriate social channels.
- Carry out community management across the charity's digital channels, triaging queries and drafting responses.
- Assist with the optimisation of Rewilding Britain's current social media channels and the identification of new opportunities/platforms/trends that would help further our mission.
Email communications
- Support the Communications and Engagement team with the planning, building and scheduling of email communications (campaigns, supporters, fundraising, corporate partners etc) within Mailchimp.
- Assist with the AB testing of our email marketing and executing a plan of continuous improvement for our emails.
- Support with managing our enquiry inboxes as and when required.
Reporting and optimising
- Collate statistics on the performance of our social and email channels, in line with our KPIs, and work closely with the Digital Communications Lead to make ongoing recommendations for our output.
- Implement feedback and lessons learned to refine and improve our social media approach.
- Stay current with sector and specialist trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously grow the effectiveness of our channels, particularly social media.
Communications support
- Take responsibility for triaging internal requests for content output across our channels and coordinate this across the Communications and Engagement team.
- Assist the team in keeping our image library up to date, by uploading and tagging new imagery.
- Support the team by uploading content to Rewilding Britain's website, following best practice. You may also provide support for more involved web optimisation projects.

Terms and conditions and staff benefits
The role is a full-time, 5-day-week (35 hours) position.
The salary is £23,000 - £27,000 per annum depending upon experience.
There will be some freedom for the person to determine their own working arrangements each week, within limitations, providing the work is delivered.
Rewilding Britain employees benefit from 25 days annual leave per year (pro rata for part time roles), rising to 30 days over 5 years. A generous employer-matched pension scheme is also available.

We are looking for a new member of the team to lead our approach to reporting to our funders and monitoring and evaluating the impact of our portfolio of activities.
The Role
This is a new, but vital role with two major components. First, this role will lead on reporting to the Academy’s primary funders, in particular the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT).

Our light, spacious head office is based in a fantastic location in central London with views over St James’s Park and close to the West End. We are thrilled to be working with Herts Young Homeless to recruit an Individual Giving Officer to join their small, dedicated fundraising team.
Herts Young Homeless is a charity whose mission is to break the cycle of homelessness in Hertfordshire through education, advice and support for young people and their families. Set up in 1998, they support 16-24 year-olds who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and their services range range from prevention to early intervention, crisis support and independent living support. The work they do empowers young people to deal with the difficult situations in their lives, giving them the ability and confidence to 'do it themselves' and ultimately find stability.
The Individual Giving Officer reports into the Head of Fundraising and Communications and is responsible for the Individual Giving income stream, with a revenue target of £90-100K. The Individual Giving programme is relatively new so there is a lot of scope to grow it by providing excellent stewardship through meaningful engagement and thoughtful and creative communications.
To succeed in the role of Individual Giving Officer, you will need:
- An understanding of support acquisition and retention, supporter journey development and motivations for giving
- Experience of using a CRM database to support relationship management
- Understanding of developing fundraising or communication initiatives or campaigns

As Research Assistant for the Children and Young People’s Engagement Team, you will be responsible for providing vital support to a dynamic team working with children, young people and parents all over the UK.
The Research Assistant will be responsible for providing qualitative and quantitative analysis of views, voices and experiences of children, young people and their families in relation to child health topics. Reviewing engagement raw data, you will analyse, code and theme, using thematic analysis, grounded theory or other relevant approaches. You will also ensure all engagement data collection activity by the team are appropriately rigorous, ethical and of value.
Taking responsibility for performing literature searches and the production of reviews of the literature to support the delivery of engagement projects, you will critically review reports produced by peers, academics and other agencies to triangulate children and young people engagement data.
Reporting to the Head of Children, Young People & Engagement, this is a varied role in which you will support the wider engagement team in how to collect and collate data for review as well as developing a system for managing out voice data.
Degree qualified or with relevant equivalent experience in a social or medical science, statistics, or other research discipline, you should have experience of producing and presenting high quality written reports, documentation and promotional information suitable for a range of audiences.
With a background of working with Nvivo and Microsoft Excel for cleaning, aggregating, coding and merging data, as well as producing thematic and trend analysis, you should have experience of analysing mixed datasets including carrying out literature reviews, and applying appropriate advanced methodologies that are ethical, robust and validated.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills along with a demonstrable ability to understand and discuss complex issues around child health and health related statistics are essential.
An understanding of governance systems and document control along with a background of working in direct delivery teams, supporting those who work with children and young people, would be desirable.
The Research Assistant role offers the opportunity to work closely with those in the field of child and youth engagement, youth volunteering and children’s rights. In this role you will start to gain knowledge of children’s rights and what matters to children and young people within child health by actively participating in the Children and Young People’s Engagement Team’s programme of activities, helping us achieve our aims.
This role is offered as either a six month fixed-term contract for full-time hours, or as a part-time fixed-term contract until 31 August 2025.
