About the Role:

About us
Action for Conservation is a grassroots charity using pioneering approaches to inspire and empower young people from diverse backgrounds, between the ages of 12 and 24, to become the next generation of environmental leaders. We have recently embarked on an inspiring and ambitious new, three-year project funded through the National Lottery Community Fund: Intergenerational Action for Nature and Climate. This will see us working across two sites, Grow Wilder in Bristol and Heartwood, near Matlock in Derbyshire, and using our proven intergenerational land stewardship approach to restore biodiversity and connect young people to nature, empowering them to become life-long climate activists and advocates for nature.
The role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and be a part of the project from the very beginning, playing a key role in its success. You will work closely with other members of the project team, as well as our partners Avon Wildlife Trust, to support the development and successful delivery of the project at Grow Wilder in Bristol.
Through regular online engagement and monthly visits to the Grow Wilder site, you will support us in facilitating an intergenerational co-design process, using eco-cultural mapping and other participatory methods. Involving key stakeholders, including Avon Wildlife Trust, a Youth Leadership Group of young people aged 12-18 living locally to Grow Wilder, land knowledge holders and the wider community, this process will enable participants to collectively develop an ambitious vision for the future of Grow Wilder. One of the outcomes of this process will be a shared plan for restoring nature and improving biodiversity at Grow Wilder, which will be implemented throughout the lifetime of the project and beyond.
Working in collaboration with our partners Avon Wildlife Trust, you will be responsible for coordinating all project activities, providing high-quality administrative and organisational support to the project team. You will also lead or support a variety of engaging sessions, webinars and hands-on activities with the project partners, young people, community groups and other project stakeholders.
Start date: as soon as possible, ideally mid/late October
Contract: Fixed-term for three years, with scope to extend subject to funding
Starting salary: £28,121.27 - £29,317.92 (FTE , pro-rata if working part time) depending on experience
Location: Bristol. This role requires regular travel within Bristol and the South West region, as well as occasional national travel

FUNCTION: Delivering our successful mentoring programmes in Tyne & Wear, Tees Valley and across the wider NE area.

WHAT WE DO
Young people from lower income families are 40% less likely to go to University than wealthier peers (Dept for Education, 2020) which can have a lifelong impact on earning potential. Covid-19 has deepened inequalities (Social Mobility Foundation, 2022) and negatively impacted on young people's wellbeing (GirlGuiding, 2020). We believe that no girls should have their futures limited by their gender, sex, ethnicity, background, or parental income and they should be supported to realise their ambitions, to discover their self-worth, and to develop their capacity to shape their world and their futures.
We work in communities of least advantage across England to deliver two core programmes to achieve this vision. Through our mentoring programme we connect 14-19 year old girls with a mentor and a wider network of role models who are women and deliver opportunities which help them to build life skills and nurture their ambitions. Based on the idea that 'you can't be what you can't see', our mentors often help girls to broaden their horizons and create a more positive vision of their futures. After the programme, the mentees can join a free, lifelong network of support - our Ambassador Community, which offers further opportunities to reach their goals, build their confidence and to share their voices and experiences.
Our programmes help girls and young women to develop the knowledge, skills, self-belief and opportunities to thrive, and to be supported as part of a network that champions them and ensures their voices are heard.
THE ROLE
This is an exciting role joining a Programme Team of 15 staff based throughout the UK. There is a small team of 3 based in the North East. You will work closely and collaborate with the other Network Managers and share some priorities across the region, working to develop the region as a whole. This is a role reliant on good relationships. 70-80% of the role is about relationship building (with schools, mentors and partners), coordination and the tracking/ administration of those relationships. Only 15-20% of the role is direct delivery with the girls in the region.
Mentoring programme
- Manage overall success of the cohorts (groups of mentees and mentors) in your region, including coordinating and administering events and communications for cohorts in your area.
- Deliver engaging on-boarding sessions for mentees
- Design and deliver events and workshops for mentees
- Deliver matching of mentees and mentors at in-person events or virtually
- Work with the wider programme team to train mentors
- Support mentors once matched through regular check-ins, monthly emails and ad-hoc conversations
- Collect data to track the progress, and impact of, mentoring relationships
- Support mentors with safeguarding concerns, following The Girls’ Network process in line with our child protection policy
- Develop effective relationships with schools, on-boarding, supporting and retaining the partnerships

Overview
SOHK will soon launch its new and ambitious organisational strategy to drive growth and impact. To achieve this, we need to increase our reach to new audiences and convert more people into donors. We also need to optimise our communications to existing audiences; from young people on our courses and their educational professionals to prospect partners and donors.
This role is key to the success of our growth fundraising strategy that will see us double our income. To achieve this we need to optimise our branding, develop new marketing channels and grow our reach. We are looking for someone as ambitious as we are, and willing to help move our charity into the next stage of our development.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver the Marketing & Communications strategy. Work with the Director of Fundraising and Marketing Consultant to contribute to the development of the the Marketing and Communications Strategy. Lead the delivery of the strategy, track progress and report risks and opportunities to senior leadership team.
- Brand management and development. Maintain and evolve the charity's brand identity. Ensure consistent messaging across all channels.
- Social media management. Plan, schedule and create content for multiple channels. Ensure timely publication and distribution of content. Develop and manage social media content and campaigns. Monitor social media engagement and analytics to refine campaigns.
- Digital marketing. Lead the development of all digital marketing to achieve audience reach and income targets.

- Video Content Creation. Conduct interviews with beneficiaries on camera to capture their stories. Edit video footage optimising for use in large-scale event films and for social media content. Develop engaging video content to promote the charity's mission and activities.
- Copywriting & Copy Editing. Write and edit inspiring and engaging content for various digital platforms including website, e-newsletters, and social media. Develop compelling stories and case studies to highlight the charity's impact. Write press releases where appropriate and quarterly ‘Supporter Updates’ for major donors.
- Website Management. Oversee the development of a new website. Update and maintain the charity's website content in line with best SEO practice. Ensure integrations are working correctly i.e. website is correctly integrated with Zapier and is pulling through subscribers to Mailchimp.
- Internal Communications. Develop engaging staff communications and opportunities to share successes and drive motivation amongst staff. Seek new opportunities to share information team-wide.

Great Western Air Ambulance Charity provides the Critical Care Service and air ambulance for Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, South Gloucestershire, Gloucestershire, North Somerset, and parts of Wiltshire. From volunteers to Specialist Paramedics, from senior Consultants to retail and fundraising staff, we are a team, working to save lives that would otherwise be lost.
Our Offer
At Great Western Air Ambulance Charity, we’re going big on charity retail. We already have nine shops located in Westbury-on-Trym, Yate, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Cinderford, Bath, Thornbury and most recently Keynsham but plan to open up to four new shops a year over the next five years, giving our charity a physical presence in the heart of communities we have served since 2007.
The shops will sell a variety of goods, as well as being a hub for our charity activity locally. Our shops need to perform well financially to help fund our lifesaving service, but we also want them to be a place where everyone feels welcome, the local community can learn life-saving skills and former patients or supporters can pop in for a chat.

- Proactively manage the monthly cash transfer process to facilitate timely and appropriate transfer to Mary’s Meals International.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure timely production of high-quality monthly Management Accounts.
- Oversee the monthly payroll processes including supply of information to payroll bureaus and authorisation of payment by bureaus.
- Maintain and update employee information for online submission of Group Pension Scheme and other providers of employee benefits.
- Develop and maintain a good working relationship with Mary’s Meals International Finance team and be responsible for the provision of necessary information.

Parentkind is a national charity representing 13,000 Parent Teacher Associations (PTAs) and has a long term ambition to be the voice of parents in policy making.
We are looking for someone to support our work in Westminster and Whitehall, improving our relationships across Parliament and inside government as we seek to be the credible voice of parents in UK policy making.
The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of advocacy and policy research in Westminster, either within Parliament or government. If you have a passion for politics, a background in policy research and an interest in education policy and politics this is the role for you.
The role will involve:
- Conducting research on parents, including polling of parents and their views. We have an ambition to make high quality policy recommendations based on this research.
- Alongside the research requirements of the role, you will be expected to support our political and broader stakeholder engagement activity to make sure the work we do is seen by the right people.
- Organise and plan political events to communicate our research, including roundtables, lunches and dinners and launch events in Westminster.
- Lead on responding to public consultations on behalf of Parentkind to ensure the voice of parents is heard in the public consultations.

Covering the operational, strategic and delivery of work we are looking for a Project Development Co-ordinator to operate across the South-East, within Kent or with the ability to travel across Kent. Travel within and occasionally outside the regions will be a necessity.
This post provides an exciting and rewarding opportunity to supervise, deliver and lead on our stakeholder and community engagement across a region to support the delivery of NEA’s work programme. The role will help deliver projects that can change lives, particularly during the energy crisis. NEA’s project work aims to bring improvements to the health and wellbeing of low income and vulnerable householders, through one-to-one advice, group awareness sessions, upskilling and sharing of best practice.
Delivering on a range or projects, which demonstrate good practice in delivery of affordable warmth for low income and vulnerable householders, you will understand and drive the development of partnerships working with local authorities, housing providers, and various other partners.
You will oversee the delivery of project outputs and outcomes, delivering energy and fuel debt advice directly to householders and be responsible for the preparation of reports to funders including collation of evidence of outcomes achieved; maintaining relationships with a network of stakeholders across a region.
You will also work with the Project Development Manager to identify and develop new programmes of work, including preparation of funding applications, presentation of funding proposals to relevant funding bodies and to ensure effective liaison of NEA’s work programme with other activities within NEA.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED
You will have demonstrable experience of developing and/or managing projects in the fields of energy efficiency, community development and regeneration, housing, social policy or consumer issues.
It is important that you have an awareness of the environmental, social and economic problems of deprived areas and the roles of the public, private and voluntary sectors in tackling them.
You will need good organisational skills, as well as excellent written and communication skills, as you will maintain appropriate records and data, and produce regular written reports on project progress.
You will be an excellent communicator, with experience and understanding of how to effectively address the energy needs of low income, vulnerable or disadvantaged householders - with the desire to make a positive difference to people’s lives;
Knowledge of energy efficiency, particularly within the domestic sector and community buildings, is desirable.
