Role Summary

Speakers For Schools is looking for a senior and experienced Evaluation Manager to lead and oversee an impact evaluation project.. This role requires a dedicated professional to manage the day-to-day operations of an independent evaluation conducted by an external agency.

The Evaluation Manager will ensure the project is executed smoothly, meets its objectives, and delivers high-quality, actionable insights. This position is ideal for someone with strong project management skills, a solid background in evaluation methodologies, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.

The Evaluation Manager works closely with the Director of Policy, Research and Impact and the Director of Programme and Delivery to ensure the successful implementation of the project. The successful candidate will be the main point of contact for the evaluation delivery, and it involves a great level of internal and external stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Key Duties / Responsibilities:

Strategic Purpose: 

· Lead the evaluation project, ensuring it adheres to timelines, budget, and quality standards.

· Serve as the primary point of contact between the external evaluation agency, internal stakeholders and the funder.

· Monitor the progress of the evaluation, addressing any issues that arise and ensuring that milestones are met. 

· Make informed, timely, and effective decisions to drive the project forward. The candidate should be able to analyse complex situations, consider various perspectives, and choose the best course of action to resolve issues and make progress. 

Engagement: 

· Coordination and facilitation of effective communication and collaboration among all parties involved, including staff, partners, and the evaluation agency. 

· Build and maintain strong relationships with a diverse range of internal stakeholders, including the Programmes and Delivery Directorate, Technology and Data team and Communications 

· Collaborate with the Data Compliance team to ensure adherence to data integrity and security standards

· Prepare and present regular updates to senior management and the funding body, highlighting key findings and progress. 

Delivery: 

· Conduct regular checks and audits to ensure data quality, completeness, and integrity.

· Work closely with the evaluators to address any discrepancies or issues identified during data collection or analysis. 

· Develop a how-to-guide for future impact evaluations for the charity and design a knowledge transfer tool during the course of the project

· Develop and implement processes for data validation and verification to improve accuracy and reliability. 

· Adherence to data compliance, standards, guidelines, and best practices to ensure our data integrity and consistency. 

· Ensure safeguarding best practices are embedded in all organisational activities.

Skills / Experience / Knowledge:

Essential

· Minimum of 5 years of experience in evaluation, impact or a related field. 

· Knowledge and experience of both quantitative & qualitative research and evaluation methods, tools and techniques 

· Highly numerate and computer literate, including advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills, as well as a wider range of project management, CRM and internal communication tools 

· Experience in analysing, interpreting and presenting data; Familiarity with evaluation methodologies and best practices 

· Strong verbal and written communication skills 

· Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality 

· Able to develop and lead strong internal and external relationships 

· Proactive and positive problem solver, self-starter and start-finisher 

Desirable

· Knowledge of the specific sector related to the funding (e.g., education, technology, community development, careers education/employability). 

· Skill in developing training and professional development programmes to build the capacity of staff and partners to contribute to impact and quality efforts. 

· The ability to identify innovative approaches and technologies that can enhance impact and quality for the charity in the long term

· Familiarity with quality assurance frameworks

Westway Trust is seeking a highly experienced and professional Senior HR Manager to join our vibrant, friendly team of three on a 2-year fixed-term contract to deliver a strong, credible, and reliable service across all aspects of our HR function in support of the range of activities undertaken by the organisation. The post will particularly suit someone with a significant charity HR background who is looking to gain the further experience necessary to equip them for making the step up to Head of HR roles.  Attention to detail, adherence to deadlines and a proactive flexible approach to the work are all pre-requisites for the role.

Key responsibilities of the role include but not limited to:

• Provide high quality support to the Head of Governance and HR on aspects of the Trust’s HR function and on the provision of accurate, timely and relevant updates and reports as required by the Executive Team.
• Ensure effective up-to-date HR policies and relevant other policies that meet the needs of the Trust and its staff are in place, reviewing them on an agreed schedule in line with the Trust’s Policy Matrix and updating as required. Identify any gaps in the suite of HR policies and develop new policies to fill that gap. Overall maintenance of the Policy Matrix.
• Lead on the Trust’s EDI policy, ensuring that the policy is implemented in a practical way throughout the organisation and in all our activities. Ensure the HR-related recommendations of the Tutu Foundation review into institutional racism at the Trust are progressed to a conclusion.
• Support the Head of Governance and HR in delivering the actions that support preparations for the next Investors in People (IiP) external assessment in late 2024. Ensure the Trust’s HR policies and practices remain consistent with the IiP standard.
• Work proactively with the HR Business Partner on the running of staff recruitment and selection processes, including sitting as the HR representative on the interview panel for more senior roles.

Essential Experience, Skills and Attributes

• Substantial experience of working in HR operations and of developing and reviewing appropriate HR policies and procedures in a charity or similar setting.
• Sound understanding of employment law and a willingness to keep up-to-date with relevant legislative changes.
• A passion for EDI and an ability to be creative and engaging in communications around this subject.
• Strong organisational skills and an understanding of the importance of discretion and confidentiality.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including evidence of ability to adapt to a variety of cultural settings.
• A team player, with excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to earn quickly the trust and confidence of staff and other stakeholders.

Desirable Experience, Skills and Attributes:

• A good knowledge/understanding of the local area and community or demonstrable willingness to learn quickly.
• Experience of change management.
• Competency in use of Access Select HR and MS Office software packages.

Qualification:

• Hold a formally recognised professional HR qualification (CIPD or equivalent), or be studying towards this.

Internal Communications Officer

About the Role

We are looking to appoint an Internal Communications Officer who will play a critical role in developing and shaping the organisation’s internal communications for the staff of the Connexional Team.

The post holder will work closely with Senior Managers to ensure that the Team’s values, mission and updates are effectively communicated to all Team members working across several sites and from home, to foster a cohesive and motivated work environment.

The successful applicant will strive to create an environment where communication fosters a sense of community, aligned with the Church’s mission and values to create an engaged and informed Connexional Team.

In this crucial role, the Internal Communications Officer will be responsible for establishing and managing channels for staff feedback to leadership, producing engaging content for various channels, and organising and delivering internal events.

The successful applicant will also provide support and training for staff on communication tools and practices, encourage staff to be ambassadors of the Church, and plan and approve regular communications to be sent out to employees including staff newsletters and newsletters from Team members.

About You

The post holder will have at least three years’ experience of working with an internal communications context within an organisation and will have the ability to develop and implement comprehensive internal communications strategies that align with the organisation’s values.

You will be able to articulate messages clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally, that are tailored to various internal audiences.  Exceptional writing, editing and proof-reading skills for a range of communication channels are a must for this role.

You will also have strong organisational skills with the ability to lead projects, work collaboratively and be proficient in digital communication tools and platforms.

The successful applicant will have strong interpersonal and listening skills with experience in building relationships with key internal stakeholders.

You will also have the ability to develop a deep understanding of the Methodist Church’s mission, values, and objectives to ensure alignment in all communications.

This is an exciting opportunity for a major donor fundraiser to join CSW, to initiate and develop strong relationships with individuals and corporates who have the capacity to make significant donations to CSW and to steward these relationships towards deeper engagement with CSW year after year.

• Develop a Major Gifts strategy that delivers agreed income goals and leads to increased and multi-year financial commitments from Major Donors.
• Develop individual cultivation plans for Major Donors that provide opportunities for them to make impactful gifts, pray and campaign.
• Research and write funding proposals and cases for support and adapt as needed.
• Produce and send regular letters and reports demonstrating the impact of gifts.
• Develop relationships with a small pool of Corporates that leads to increased engagement and income generation.

• A minimum of three years’ major donor fundraising experience for a charity.
• Proven track record of securing five-figure and six-figure gifts from major donors.
• Experience of providing excellent stewardship to major donors.

• Writing compelling funding applications/ proposals that match donors’ interests with CSW’s mission and activities.

About the role

We are now recruiting a knowledgeable and experienced Climate Resilience Programme Manager to continue leading our climate action strategy. The purpose of the role is to bring climate change expertise to grow, strengthen, deepen, and diversify our innovative programme portfolio, continue to minimise the negative environmental impacts of all of our programmes, and deepen our carbon emissions reduction strategy as we continue to expand the reach and impact of our organisation.

You will build strong partnerships by working closely alongside our local partners in programme design, technical knowledge, implementation and monitoring. It is anticipated that the post will include 3-4 overseas trips per annum.

The role affords huge scope for personal development, with the flexibility and autonomy needed to shape this critical area of programming. A particular objective will be to strengthen the M&E across the portfolio and access additional external funding for scaling up our climate resilience programmes.

You should have:

Essential

• Experience in the climate resilience sector and demonstrable knowledge of how to build and manage climate resilience programmes
• Knowledge of humanitarian and/or livelihoods programming, including monitoring, evaluation accountability and learning (MEAL) processes is critical
• Cross-cultural sensitivity and ability to work with overseas partners with varying levels of English.
• Strong administrative, research, analysis, numeracy and IT skills.
• Excellent oral and written English communication skills with an ability to produce accurate, factual and compelling reports, proposals, and presentations

Desirable

• Demonstrable knowledge of carbon emissions reduction within organisations

Who are we?

VoiceAbility is an independent charity and one of the UK’s largest providers of advocacy and involvement services. We deliver a wide range of service contracts funded by local authorities, Government, health trusts and other voluntary and private sector organisations and our Camden Crisis Team Peer Support Service is one of our involvement services.

We’ve been supporting people to have their say in decisions, around health, care and wellbeing for over 40 years. We make sure people are supported when it matters most.

Our service was co-developed back in 2015 by VoiceAbility and people who use the services.  This is now part of Reach Out Camden which is passionate about working together with Camden residents to design and deliver services that improve their mental health and for people to live healthy and fulfilling lives in a place where they feel connected to their community and have the right opportunities to thrive.

Your role will require you to provide one-to-one support for service users as they are discharged from the Crisis team, setting personal goals with the service user for recovery, developing ways with the service user on how to keep well and identifying their own personal sources of support. This will involve work and travel within the Borough of Camden but will be based in one of the Camden Crisis Resolution Team offices.  The post is a permanent contract with a starting salary between £24,500 - £31,500 per annum pro rata.

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Peer Support Worker to join our team in the Camden Crisis Teams. We are looking for both full and part time staff, (working hours to be agreed, however, our service runs Monday to Friday, between the hours of 9am-5pm), on a permanent contract. Reporting directly to the Connections Team Leader.

Your role will require you to provide one-to-one support for service users, setting personal goals with the service user for recovery, developing ways with the service user on how to keep well and identifying their own personal sources of support. This will involve work and travel within the Borough of Camden but will be based at in one of the Crisis Team offices either at Daleham Gardens or St Pancras Hospital. The post is a permanent contract with a starting salary between £24,500 - £31,500 pro rata depending on experience.

How will you make a difference?

You will work with the Peer Support Team and draw upon lived experience to assist service users to move forward positively.  Acting as a specialist resource to provide a unique perspective to service users. 

You will hold a small caseload to allow regular sessions to be held with the service user, maintaining confidential records, utilising VoiceAbility and NHS electronic records system.  Planning, implementation of and review of care packages, including parts of the individual care plan.

· Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with experience of working within a multi-disciplinary group

· Are Professional, enthusiastic and engaging, a good listener, empathetic and have a positive “can do” attitude

· Hold an Enhanced DBS with Children & Adults Barred lists (or willingness to obtain)

Dad Matters is a PAIR (Parent and Infant Relationship) project specifically for Dads during the peri-natal period (conception to a child’s 2nd birthday). Primarily the project aims to raise awareness amongst dads, the wider community, and other professionals of the importance of:

Home-Start Manchester already has a robust Dad Matters project offer running across the city as well as the ‘Universal offer’.

This role aims to widen the projects impact by reaching more Dads This will involve increasing participation in classes and events and delivering 1-1 support to dads referred into the service. The role will be supported by and be part of the wider Dad Matters team as well as being part of Home-Start Manchester.
