The Charity
Kinship is the leading kinship care charity in England and Wales. We offer kinship carers financial, legal, practical and emotional support and understanding from the moment they need it, for as long as they need it. Our expert advice, information and guidance helps with complicated and stressful decisions that so many kinship families have to make. We are always there to support them through challenging times and celebrate the good.
Kinship carers are strong and determined. Together, they are powerful. We help them build communities of support and action by connecting families locally and across England and Wales.
About the Team
Kinship is in the third year of delivering the first national peer support service for kinship carers in England. We have created 145 peer support groups. We have supported and trained kinship carers to create and lead their groups in a way which meets their needs.
With a new contract from the Department for Education, we’re now entering a new phase of our service with a focus on:
- creating 90 new sustainable peer support groups in areas of most need over 21 months;
- sustaining and developing the current 145 existing groups; and
- providing support and help to build a sustainable and welcoming community for all peer support groups across England.
This role will mobilise, develop and innovate our existing offer into a new Peer Support Community Hub with the focus on supporting sustainability and building resilience of peer support groups and their leaders. You will support and build our Kinship peer support community.
You’ll work with group leaders to co-create and develop a central hub of accessible and useful resources to help them to sustain their groups, working with colleagues right across Kinship to promote consistent access to services and activities (training, programmes, information, advice and campaigns), building a joined-up user experience.
You’ll ensure we use data and insight to innovate the Hub and develop a strong thriving community of peer support group leaders.
About the role
The role of the Peer Community Innovation Lead is to oversee and take accountability for sustaining kinship peer support groups across England in priority areas as part of a new hub and spoke delivery model.
In this context, your team is the centralised ‘hub’ of the service, delivering an exciting programme of training, speakers, toolkits and resources to help peer support group leaders develop, build and sustain their group well. Your team will build and develop this ‘peer support community hub’. This will include annual in person celebrations.
Your team will make sure groups feel connected and supported, learn from each other and build a powerful and resilient peer community.
Managing a national team of three, you will develop a strategy and operational plan to build on and mobilise a new peer support community.
The type of person we’re looking for:
Dynamic and people-centred, this role is about innovating and developing a supportive community of peer support group leaders nationally in person and online. You’ll understand the power of relationships and be an excellent communicator. You’ll understand how communities hold their own power and your team will help unlock that. Innovation is key to the success of the Hub and you’ll ensure you’re using best practice and learning to develop it.
An excellent communicator, you’ll develop external specialist partnerships to support group sustainability. You’ll ensure through the National Peer Support Connector role that peer communities are connected and engaging with the new National Kinship Care Ambassador to share insight and best practice.
You’ll be comfortable with using digital technology and tools to build communities, relationships and develop resources.

Yeldall Manor is a Christian recovery centre for men wanting to overcome their addiction problems. We have created this new part-time position to provide consistent and professional HR support to the organisation, bringing together various roles currently undertaken by a few different staff members.
The role will suit someone who can work under their own initiative (after training in our charity practices), experienced in overseeing the employee journey from recruitment and retention to departure. You will act as the first point of contact for HR-related queries, and ensure that the charity is compliant with all relevant legislation. This will involve dealing with all employment matters, building robust policies & procedures, and implementation across the organisation. You would also be responsible for preparing the staff rota and all related administration. We do not currently have HR software, so reviewing our requirements in this area would be one of your responsibilities. Please see the job description for full information about this varied post.
As a small charity (c. 35 staff including part-time and casual workers), the role will require balancing practical and administrative tasks with management responsibilities. We anticipate that you'll be based in the office for at least two days out of the three days/24 hours worked per week. This is in a lovely rural setting near Twyford (Reading) and, being situated within the rehabilitation centre, you will have daily contact with those men whom you are ultimately helping. They inspire and motivate us just as much as we seek to encourage and support them.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Assessing learner skills and needs to establish starting points/baseline, with other TAP staff
2. Setting up and supporting learners in work placements to develop their skills and gain meaningful experience
3. Observing and evidencing the learner journey (keeping detailed records), monitoring learner progress (including target progress)
4. Liaising with families and team around the learner as required and to contribute to reviews- ensuring learners are working towards their outcomes and aspirations
5. Supporting employers and learners to work together effectively- suggesting and implementing reasonable adjustments
6. To work with Curriculum Manager/Team Leaders to support learners during class days, helping to create learning materials as needed.
7. To work with Curriculum Manager/Team Leaders to support learners with travel training, wellbeing support and signposting to extracurricular/socials and community events
8. Working alongside the Engagement Officer to find, source and maintain employer relationships

Our adult adoption support service works primarily with adopted adults and birth families. Adopted adults can access their adoption records and birth families are supported at the time of losing children to adoption, helped to stay in touch through letterbox and provided with independent emotional support.
We are looking for a Social Worker, who has experience of working directly with those affected by adoption. You will have experience and knowledge of adoption law and practice and able to liaise with partner agencies to deliver the service in the North East of England.
You will be a dedicated and enthusiastic professional who is committed to improving the outcomes for adoptive and birth families, adopted adults and relatives. You will also have strong verbal and written communications skills and be able to deliver the service to a high standard.

Job Purpose:
We need a hands-on flexible administrator to provide general administrative support to WIP’s Core team; you will ensure the smooth running of WIPs London office in Shoreditch; you will also be providing administrative support to projects as and when required.
Administrative Support
• Act as a point of contact for Women in Prisons Core Team including monitoring and responding to communications in shared mailboxes
• To support with Women in Prisons telephone line and ensure any answer machine messages are passed on the relevant team
• Be a welcoming face for visitors to the Shoreditch office
• To be responsible for WIPs mail to and from the Office
• Administrative support as needed to Women in Prison’s Core team which could include booking meetings, note taking and support with paperwork
• Supporting the Shoreditch office in maintaining and ordering office supplies to include stationery, consumables and health and safety equipment
• Supporting our Executive Assistant with WIP events and/or large staff meetings
• To keep our asset management log updated and support allocation process of office equipment (e.g. phones and laptops)

The members of our Preventative Support Services team are highly skilled, passionate and committed, so we are looking for a leader who can both support and inspire them. The successful candidate will be skilled in leading a team as well as able to work as part of the team, hands-on if needed. As well as being a Line-manager, you will be part of the ‘Senior Leadership Team’ led by the CEO. To enable your professional wellbeing and development, you will have regular supervision, be supported by a Senior Manager as well as your peers, and have access to external training and mentoring chosen by you.
The post-holder will have experience of overseeing, developing and evaluating services for Carers, or perhaps mental health, wellbeing, or similarly targeted information, advice or support services or projects. You must demonstrate experience working in partnership with health, social care and other voluntary sector organisations and have a good understanding of, and be flexible to, the needs of Carers as well as the organisation.
