Job Title: Refuge Support Worker/ IDVA

The main purpose of the Refuge Support Worker role is to support women and children escaping domestic abuse by providing safe accommodation and support to rebuild their lives through the provision of one to one support, helping them to make informed choices while ensuring they understand their rights.
You must have at least one year’s experience of working with Asian women in a refuge or other formal setting. An understanding of the intersectional complexities and dynamics of domestic abuse and its impact on women from South Asian communities is essential.
You will have demonstrable experience of providing advice and support to Asian women who have experienced domestic abuse, harmful practices and all forms of VAWG (violence against women and girls). You will be experienced at completing risk assessments and support planning. You will have a working knowledge of welfare benefits and housing legislation. The role - Assistant Evening Domestic Abuse Worker
- To accept new referrals and complete move in procedures for new clients, including supporting flat turnarounds, cleaning, and re-stock to ensure there is no delay in accommodation any referral.
- Ensure the upkeep and security of the building and take responsibility for any cash and equipment.
- Maintaining an understanding and awareness of and adhering to all support plans and risk assessments and to update the Domestic Abuse Support Worker (DASW) of changes to risk or incidents.
- To provide feedback to the DASW regarding tenant's SMART plans and aims achieved, recorded documentation on client database.
- To complete risk assessments for activities both 1-1 and group work, incorporating safety planning, reviewing on a regular basis.
- To work with clients and other staff to devise an annual plan for client involvement, to actively engage the individuals and families within the Rochdale DA safe accommodation service, promoting lived experience involvement in service delivery and improvement.
- Facilitate evening group work and promote, monitor and evaluate involvement sessions in conjunction with the people using services.
- To work in-line with the project's budget, adhering to financial policies and procedures.
- To monitor the security and safety of the premises on an ongoing basis, including CCTV, front door entry system and alarm system.
- To be responsible and accountable for the efficient recording, storing and maintaining of client records including contact notes, correspondence, incident reporting, handovers, risk updates and outcomes achieved.

This role is part of the Wiltshire Project which provides individual and family support to domestic abuse victims and their children. It is a fixed term role until November 2025.
The Resettlement Team focuses on delivering timely and high quality, trauma informed support to victims of domestic abuse and their families.
The post holder will support victims experiencing domestic abuse to access safe accommodation and those resettling in Wiltshire following fleeing domestic abuse, make long term positive and sustainable changes in their lives and to recover from the harm of domestic abuse. To do this you will work sensitively with service users to support them in making the changes to live free from harm, ensuring they feel safe, secure and supported.

This role will be based in Trowbridge, with a requirement to travel across Wiltshire. FearFree supports staff to work flexibly, with an ability to work in a hybrid fashion, both at home and in the office.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- To provide a high quality support service to victims experiencing domestic abuse, giving practical and emotional support.
- Provide support to service users and their families when living in safe accommodation and resettlement support when moving on from refuge accommodation and in the wider community.
- Manage a caseload of assessed service users through telephone and face to face support, to enable them to increase their safety and make positive choices for the future.
- Prepare and deliver educational, time bound sessions on a one-to-one basis with service users around domestic abuse including, but not exclusive to, safety, power and control, barriers to leaving, boundaries, impact on children, moving on and red flags.
- Complete an initial assessment of individuals’ and families’ needs to identify and plan the support needed to address issues and prevent any problems from escalating.

Women in Prison is a national, women-led, feminist organisation. We deliver front line support to women harmed by the criminal justice system, through our work in prisons, in the community and ‘through the prison gate’ as they resettle back into their communities. - Provide trauma-responsive approach, undertaking risk and needs assessments that reflect each individual's situation and support needs.

- Accurately document all client interaction on relevant databases, always working in line with Women in Prison’s case management policy, and data protection legislation.

- Line manage direct report/s and ensure that all staff receive regular support, supervision and performance review, case management, training and development in line with WIP policies and procedures.

SHP (Single Homeless Project) is one of London’s leading homelessness prevention charities and a dynamic and growing organisation changing 10,000 lives every year across London - from supporting people in crisis, to helping them take the final steps towards independence and employment.
We are seeking an experienced and a highly motivated staff member for our Complex Needs Accommodation Service. This Project is a 15 bed mixed gender supported accommodation based in Islington. The role will require you to work alongside the Regional Services Manager, to provide a high level of support to these clients.
You will be in a specialist role designed to work with people with complex support needs relating to: mental ill health, physical health & substance use needs. You will also play a key part in reducing the risk of re-offending, liaising with external professionals, preventing homelessness and promoting the independence and social inclusion of these clients.
The working rota for this post is Monday-Friday (no weekend shifts) and a mixture of earlies (8am - 3.30pm) & lates (3pm - 10.30pm.) We strongly welcome applications from local residents of Islington.

Specialist Behaviour Support Workers are responsible for supporting people with learning disabilities and behavioural needs to live full lives, develop skills, and maintain their wellbeing.
The Common Road Service is a CQC registered is a home for one customer with learning disabilities and Autism and supported by two staff to one 24 hours 7 days a week we are looking to maintain a staff team with an excellent value base to support the customer to build his life and develop his skills as an independent person.

What you'll do:
Supporting the customer to undertake a full timetable of preferred activities including art, visiting galleries, attending community groups, visiting local amenities, and introducing them to new activities to expand their horizons and networks.
Developing the customer's independent living skills and involving them in all aspects of maintaining and developing their home, including cooking, shopping, cleaning, and decorating.
Enabling the customer to keep up with the important people in their life and to meet new people with shared interests.
Supporting the customer to communicate their wants and needs and communicating with them in a person-centred way.
Supporting the customer to manage their anxieties and frustrations, using Positive Behaviour Support and Autism-specific approaches.
Collating a range of behavioural data and essential paperwork to be analysed within our local management structure.
Driving the customer to activities using the customer's vehicle, in rotation with the wider team.
Communicating with family members and a range of other key stakeholders including social work, psychology, and commissioning teams.
Acting in accordance with the policies and procedures of Look Ahead Care & Support plus those specific to the service including any statutory requirements.
Consistently reviewing the customer's life goals and their progress towards achieving them, in partnership with them and those important to them.
Supporting the customer with personal care
Reporting any observations relating to customer welfare.

The Trusts and Foundations Fundraising Officer will work alongside the Head of Income, Partnerships and Communications to help deliver Rising Sun’s fundraising targets during this exciting period of growth for the charity.
The main focus of the role is finding, attracting and stewarding new funders to help deliver Rising Sun’s life changing services. You will write compelling funding proposals that demonstrate the impact of our services and how we meet funders’ requirements. You will build strong relationships with grant officers from various foundations, providing regular updates and communicating challenges, solutions and successes as appropriate to develop our reputation as an effective, reliable and trustworthy organisation. Alongside this you will be nurturing our existing portfolio of funders to help prioritise multi-year funding.
Working with you in the Fundraising Team will be the Head of Income, Partnerships and Communications, Trusts and Foundations Officer, Community Fundraising Officer and Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Team. As part of the team you will help to develop fundraising materials such as case studies, impact reports and cases for support.
We are looking for a proactive and organised individual who loves building and nurturing relationships and has a passion for fundraising. In addition, you will have excellent writing skills and experience of generating income from trusts and foundations to grow our income from this stream. As part of our committed team of approximately 50 staff, you will be contributing to the invaluable work of the Rising Sun and making a lasting difference to the lives of those who have experienced domestic abuse.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and manage part of Rising Sun’s portfolio of income and fundraising activities related to trusts and foundations.
- Keep the trusts and foundations stream of the funding pipeline healthy and up to date, carrying out research into new opportunities and meeting application deadlines.
- Write compelling funding applications that answer funders’ questions and effectively communicate the mission, services and impact of Rising Sun.
- Develop appropriate fundraising tools, such as cases for support and impact reports.
- Support the Head of Income, Partnerships and Communications to write bids for commissioned services and government funding opportunities.
- Liaise internally across the organisation to become familiar with our services and stay up to date with current trends to feed into funding applications and develop project proposals.

About the Role:
You may be a qualified IDVA or a Domestic Abuse Outreach Worker wanting to work alongside professionals in a multi-agency environment, although we will consider applicants from other fields providing you are able to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and understanding of both domestic and sexual violence.
This role involves both face to face and virtual support in a hybrid model of working. There is an expectation that you will do a mixture of working from home, our office in Old Street.
As a DRIVE Independent Domestic Violence Advocate you will:
- Implement effective ways of working with victims and those supporting them to increase safety and reduce harm.
- Provide a high-quality, front-line service to victims of domestic and sexual abuse, delivering a premium service prioritised according to risk, primarily focusing on victim/survivors aged 16+
- Work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic and sexual abuse to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic and sexual abuse.
- Have excellent communication skills, a proactive approach and the confidence to be able to influence the way in which this service is delivered are key.
You will need:
- Have a knowledge of help-seeking barriers and support needs of victims of domestic and sexual abuse (in heterosexual or same-sex relationships).
- Have a good understanding of domestic and sexual abuse including the impact of abuse on victims and their children.
- Understand the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic and sexual abuse and their children.
- Understand safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
- Direct service delivery to victims of domestic and sexual abuse or other vulnerable people.
- Have excellent communication, negotiation and advocacy skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals. Understand and be committed to equal opportunities and diversity issues in policy and practice.
