About the role

Working at a strategic level, you will have overall responsibility for identifying and securing the income streams to support the activity of this newly formed organisation (merger of 3 local Citizens Advice offices), working the Chief Executive and other members of the management team. You will actively monitor the advice landscape and stay informed about industry innovations and emerging trends, proactively identifying opportunities to integrate relevant advancements into the organisation.

You will also be responsible for the line management of the Fundraising Officer, Communications Officer and the Research and Campaigns Coordinator.

Role Responsibilities:

• With the CEO, design a sustainable funding model and a diverse project portfolio for CAOX that guards against over reliance on a single funder or work type.
• Identify and secure new business opportunities that generate income and are aligned with the organisational and strategic aims.
• Create a standardised fee structure for core services to ensure consistency and transparency when preparing bids and proposals
• Negotiate contracts and service level agreements to ensure the work scope aligns with contract value.
• Manage multiple bids and innovation projects, prioritising effectively and demonstrating financial efficiency.
• Supported by the Fundraising Officer, lead on identifying and writing compelling and persuasive funding bids.
• Ensure a strong funding pipeline is maintained by tracking and planning fundraising activities, applications and forecasted income.

Demonstrable experience and achievements:

• A successful track record in business development and identifying new funding opportunities to achieve significant impact, meet user needs and maintain standards.
• Strong leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and lead a passionate and committed team, at all levels of the organisation, to perform to the best of their abilities
• Experience of building positive and productive relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders.
• Understanding of the voluntary sector, knowledge of the strategic and policy environment in which the advice sector operates.
• Understanding of fundraising regulations

About the role: 

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Philanthropy Officer to join our small, ambitious team and help secure the funding that makes our work possible.  Our Philanthropy team builds meaningful relationships with supporters—particularly charitable trusts and foundations—to secure a significant proportion of Future Frontiers’ income. 

Reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, you’ll help build a sustainable pipeline of high-value supporters. You’ll focus on researching new funding opportunities, crafting high-quality funding applications, writing tailored reports, and ensuring excellent donor stewardship.

You’ll bring exceptional writing skills, outstanding attention to detail and a proactive, people-focused approach. You may have fundraising experience, or bring a strong understanding of relationship-building from another sector. You’ll thrive on spotting opportunities, shaping persuasive cases for support and connecting with supporters.

You’ll also be highly organised, keeping accurate records and ensuring our funders feel appreciated and connected to our work.  This role would suit someone looking to take their next step in fundraising—perhaps you already work in a fundraising or grant-writing role and are ready for more ownership, or you bring strong transferable skills and are excited to grow into the role. Your responsibilities: 

Identify new funding opportunities:

You’ll lead on identifying charitable trusts, foundations and major donors with the potential to support Future Frontiers. Through proactive research and collaboration with other teams, you’ll build and qualify a strong pipeline of prospective funders, matching them with appropriate asks. A key part of the role is ensuring a steady flow of new prospects, with regular research and outreach to grow our portfolio of supporters. 

Build and manage a portfolio of supporters: 

You’ll develop a strong understanding of existing and prospective supporters, enabling you to provide thoughtful, tailored relationship management. With guidance from the Head of Philanthropy, you’ll help build and maintain relationships with a range of grant-making trusts and foundations, securing donations and delivering proactive stewardship to encourage continued support. You’ll also act as an ambassador for Future Frontiers, creating opportunities for supporters to connect with our work. 

Write applications for funding:

You’ll craft high-quality funding proposals that make a persuasive case for how each supporter’s contribution will make a difference for young people facing disadvantage. Every application will be tailored to the funder’s priorities, and your exceptional writing skills and attention to detail will ensure each one is clear, accurate and compelling. 

Report on impact:

You’ll demonstrate the difference our supporters make by delivering high-quality reports, updates and case studies that bring our impact to life. You’ll work closely with teams across the organisation to gather the right information and write clear and engaging updates that reflect each funder’s interests and requirements. You’ll manage reporting timelines and ensure our commitments are met, helping to secure future funding and strengthen relationships. 

Keep accurate and detailed records: 

You’ll make sure all fundraising activity is recorded promptly and accurately, helping us track relationships, deadlines and progress. You’ll support the team’s efficiency by keeping organised records and helping to manage key administrative processes. You’ll also ensure we meet data protection and fundraising regulations, including GDPR and the Code of Fundraising Practice. 

Contribute to wider organisational priorities: 

You’ll be a collaborative team member, supporting cross-team projects and organisation-wide initiatives as needed. From time to time, you may also be asked to take on other duties in line with your role.

About you 

Experience and knowledge:

 ● Experience communicating clearly and effectively in different formats, including long-form writing, emails, presentations and conversations with stakeholders (essential). 

● Experience conducting research and presenting findings, such as identifying prospective supporters, gathering information from a range of sources, and summarising insights for different audiences (essential). 

● Some understanding of trust and foundation fundraising and how to build relationships that lead to 4- or 5-figure grants (essential). 

● Experience contributing to relationships with high-value supporters, or strong transferable skills in relationship or account management (desirable). 

● Familiarity with fundraising regulations and best practices (desirable).

Role Overview

We are looking for a Hospital Carers' Lead to join our service supporting unpaid carers while the person they look after is in hospital and during the discharge process. We know that this can be a worrying and stressful time and that too often carers do not know where to turn to for information and support. Help us make sure that carers get the help and support they need, at this critical time. 

You will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering our offer for carers which seeks to increase the identification of carers within local hospitals, improve carer support during their cared for hospital stay and following their discharge from hospital. 

The Hospital Carers Lead will be responsible for: 

• Offering tailored short-term 1 to 1 support to unpaid carers, working together to develop and implement plans to help improve carers’ experiences during the hospital stay, prepare for discharge and to address carers’ own needs. 

• Supporting unpaid carers while the person they care for is in hospital via signposting to relevant support and information about their rights. 

• Working collaboratively with partners within the hospital, to raise awareness of carers and increase identification.

About the role

We’re seeking a solicitor to lead the development of a new legal advice service for kinship carers. Joining an established advice team in a growing national charity, this is a new role focussed on delivering specialist legal advice to individuals and changing policy and practice through strategic casework.

Importantly, the postholder will have the opportunity to shape the role to best meet the needs of Kinship and kinship carers.

You’ll be part of a skilled and supportive team who keep kinship carers at the heart of their service.

Our Advice Team supports kinship carers in complex and challenging situations. It can be a tough role at times, so we prioritise adviser wellbeing and are developing a trauma informed approach to our advice work that we’ll be embedding across the service.

The type of person we’re looking for

You will be a 3 year PQE solicitor with strong knowledge of child law, family court processes and related safeguarding legislation. You will have the ability to become a leading expert in kinship care law. You will bring a compassionate and practical approach to supporting kinship carers to navigate legal challenges, access support, and achieve the best outcomes for the children in their care.

You will understand the broader systemic challenges faced by kinship carers, be a strategic thinker and have an interest in service development and policy influencing.

You will need to be resilient and be able to remain calm in difficult situations. You will be firm, sensitive and professional in your approach and will be clear and assertive as you identify key issues and support kinship carers to get their needs met quickly and effectively.

You will understand how important it is that kinship carers feel confident in making their own decisions with the right information and advice so that they can build their own knowledge and confidence rather than dependency.

Key responsibilities include:

· Provide high quality, people centred, specialist legal advice and assistance to kinship carers in England and Wales on kinship care law-related matters.

· Undertake casework and strategic casework.

· Lead the development of Kinship’s legal offer to kinship carers.

· Provide support, resources and training to colleagues in the advice team to support the quality of legal advice.

· Ensure our legal service is compliant with all relevant regulatory requirements.

· Work with our Policy and Campaigns team to identify opportunities for influencing policy and practice through strategic casework, litigation, policy work or campaigning.

· Support colleagues in our Training and Website teams to develop legally accurate content and resources.

Essential knowledge, abilities, skills and experience include:

· A minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience (PQE) in child law, family law, or closely related fields.

· Experience in both private and public law child-related cases.

· Strong knowledge of child law, family court processes, and related safeguarding legislation.

· Ability to provide clear, accurate, and practical legal advice tailored to the individual circumstances of vulnerable people.

· Excellent written skills and research skills.

· Strong organisational skills to prioritise tasks effectively, meet deadlines, and comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

· Confident in using digital tools, and an ability to learn new tools.

•Strong ethical standards and a passion for supporting vulnerable individuals to obtain access to justice.

Job Description  

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Office and People Assistant to support the smooth operation of our office, IT and HR functions. This role is key in maintaining an efficient, welcoming, and well-managed work environment at Prostate Cancer Research while assisting with HR-related administrative tasks. This role will take a lead in organising and keeping on top of our health and safety responsibilities, onboarding new employees and helping to organise awaydays as well as keeping everything running smoothly day to day.

Our ideal candidate will be someone who is ready to take on a challenge and work across multiple areas to ensure PCR operates quickly and efficiently whilst looking out for the needs of an ever-growing team. The role will be part of the Resources function at PCR and will work across Office Management, Human Resources, IT and Governance. 

Key Responsibilities 

Office Management 

• Maintaining an inviting and comfortable workspace 

• Overseeing the maintenance of the office courtyard, including plant care and drain clearance; hire cleaners quarterly

• Managing supplier contracts such as cleaners, postal services, and printers to keep the office running efficiently 

• Managing relationships and liaising with service providers, including Royal Mail, IT support, telephone supplier, printer, franking, waste and utility services 

• Overseeing office purchases and supplies, including stationery for remote workers 

• The management and recording of office refurbishments, repairs, and maintenance projects 

Health and Safety 

• Maintaining and monitoring health and safety policies and collaborating with staff on office health and safety. 

• Maintaining and updating the office Health & Safety Handbook 

• Setting up new employees with office keys and maintain records of keyholders 

• Keeping accurate records of office assets 

• Management of incoming and outgoing post (opening, recording, scanning, forwarding, and filing as necessary) 

• Overseeing hard copy and digital office filing as needed 

• Acting as first point of contact for the main phone line, responding to voicemails, direct calls or messages and acting as switchboard for those calls 

• Maintaining the general company email inbox 

• Booking travel and accommodation for staff, managers, guests, and trustees as required 

HR Support 

• Assisting with recruitment, including placing job adverts and coordinating interview logistics 

• Liaising with our IT providers to set up new employees with IT hardware, phone services and Microsoft accounts

• Maintenance of Learning & Development (L&D) training records 

• Assisting with the organisation and booking of trustee meetings in collaboration with the Chair of Trustees and CEO, securing external venues if necessary 

• Assisting in the organisation of PCR Awaydays as part of a cross-departmental team 

• Acting as the office first aider, maintaining the first aid logbook, medical questionnaire records, and conducting risk assessments for employees based on need 

• Management of staff benefits programs, including Perkbox and Bright Exchange 

• Liaising with the payroll team regarding new employee details, payroll inquiries, discrepancies, and holiday pay. 

Key Skills and Qualifications 

• Proven experience in office administration and HR support roles 

• Strong organisational and multitasking skills 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities 

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) 

• Ability to handle confidential information professionally and with discretion 

• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in an office environment is a plus 

• Experience in managing supplier contracts and vendor relationships 

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team

In April 2022, Smart Works launched a Three-Year Plan that saw the charity double the number of women helped annually from 5,000 to 10,000 women a year. About This Role

Over the next three years, Smart Works Leeds want to expand and embed the service we offer within the Bradford district. Reaching unemployed women in Bradford is integral to our mission of increasing the number of women we support in 2025 and beyond.

Thanks to a successful grant application from Yorkshire Building Society Foundation, we now have the funding to expand the team and enhance our strategy. We are looking for a Partnerships and Engagement Coordinator to join us and support this exciting growth.

The Partnerships and Engagement Coordinator will work closing with our fundraising and outreach teams to cultivate and manage relationships with new and existing stakeholders whose involvement could benefit the objective to reach and support more women in Bradford.
