The Public Affairs Manager will be a key member of our busy External Affairs Team within the wider Policy and External Affairs directorate.
Reporting to the joint Heads of Public Affairs & Stakeholder Relations, and working closely with communications and public policy colleagues, you will play an essential role in enabling and driving engagement with parliamentary, government, political and sector stakeholders.
You will be politically astute, with experience engaging across Westminster and Whitehall with competent written and communication skills, able to both brief and prepare senior leaders within the organisation for key engagement activities as well as meeting stakeholders independently as appropriate.
Strong organisational, people and project management skills are essential; you will be responsible for managing dedicated key influencing ‘moments’ with stakeholders and partners, such as organising and managing panel events, roundtables, webinars and showcase programme visits. You will also lead the co-ordination and secretariat activity for the Youth Employment Group (YEG), working closely with the Director of Policy and External Affairs as one of the five co-chairs.
This role can be based at any of our hubs located in Birmingham, Leeds or London. We currently operate a hybrid model of two-days per week in the office and three-days from home.

The position involves conducting high-quality data analysis, developing machine learning models, and enhancing data processes using tools like Python and SQL. You'll collaborate closely with the Data Scientist and Research and Insights Manager, contributing to large-scale data analysis and supporting the team’s broader research efforts.

Overall purpose of role
As the WeProtect Global Alliance Head of Strategy, you will lead a small team to build a global network, evidence base and policy portfolio to guide and drive the implementation of our Strategy and mission targets. Your team will provide high level analysis and ask critical questions, supporting the Alliance to identify immediate and emerging issues which may require investigation or exploration, support the Policy Board, Executive Team, Head of Members and Head of Development to navigate key strategic decisions.
You will also work closely with the Head of Members and Head of Development to support the development of new ways of working to harness Alliance members and broader community of practice to understand our collective impact and ensure our secretariat, members and broader organization actively remain relevant and focused on delivering our mission and strategic objectives.

Alongside providing detailed school and Multi-Academy Trust level insights, we are building the national evidence base around school engagement as a lead indicator. Our research unit provides national insights and research publications to support school level insight and build better sector understanding of school employee engagement. We engage with the TEP school community to provide research insights, case studies and best practice examples to support their practice.
The role
In an exciting note role within TEP, we are recruiting our first Marketing Manager. The successful candidate will have an excellent track record of designing and managing marketing and communications campaigns with impact.
Working closely with TEP Directors and ImpactEd Group Directors you will develop, implement and manage the communications and marketing activity for TEP as we build awareness and uptake of The Engagement Platform across the country and internationally.
You will plan campaigns, shape messaging and lead on execution of comms and digital marketing activity. With a wealth of data and insight to draw upon, we are excited to invest in our marketing function to take the benefits of TEP to the market.

Experience

Demonstrable experience in communications and/or marketing, developed over a minimum of three years

Evidence of achieving targets and outcomes through communications and marketing activity

Experience of managing and tracking digital marketing ads and campaigns

As Head of Fundraising and Communications, you will manage a high-performing team of two staff: Individual Giving and Database Manager and the Communications Manager. Your key priority is to raise the income required as per the agreed annual income budgets for the organisation, managing all relevant income streams that include Trusts & Foundations, Events & Community, Corporate, Statutory, International and Individual Giving. You do not need to demsontrate an expertise in all of these streams. You are also responsible for ensuring that all communications messaging is strengthening our brand and engaging our supporters.
Finally, you are an active member participating in the Senior Management Team contributing insights and strategies that align with the charity’s development goals. By engaging in this leadership role, the Head of Fundraising and Communications role will help to drive the charity's mission forward, ensuring long-term sustainability and impact.
