The Communications Assistant will be an integral role in the communications directorate, supporting the Director and teams to deliver on ambitious objectives. We’re looking for an organised self-starter with good writing skills, who can turn their hand to event organisation, support with our publications and a variety of communications tasks, as well as offering support to the Communications Director and Heads of Teams. 

You’ll be calm, have good administrative skills, adept at plate spinning and able to manage a varied workload, whilst learning huge amounts about communications and customer engagement. Location: Home-based

Salary: £50-55,000

Type: Permanent 

Hours: 4 days per week (28 hours). Hours can be worked flexibly.

About Home-Start London

We have a big ambition: to ensure that no parent in London feels alone and every child has the best start in life. Our network of 16 local Home-Start charities in the capital provides volunteer-led home visiting, group and other support to parents and carers with young children facing challenges such as social isolation, mental health difficulties, and poverty. Our work focuses on building new partnerships and securing funding, facilitating shared learning and more coordinated services, and amplifying the voices of disadvantaged families with young children to drive wider change. We are part of the national Home-Start movement. 

About the role

As Director, you will be the public face of an impactful and dynamic charity. You will ensure successful delivery of our strategy and lead on developing new partnerships that build financial sustainability of the charity and grow support for our wider network. Working with your small but mighty team and Home-Start staff and trustees across London, you will ensure we provide quality support to our network that drives increased impact. Your professional development and growth will be well supported.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Responsible for delivering marketing content to promote the mission, vision and values of the charity. Your primary goal will be to increase awareness and engagement with the work the Charity does.

ON APPOINTMENT, YOU'RE EXPECTED TO HAVE:

• Previous professional experience and hold most of the necessary skills for the role.

IN YOUR ROLE:

• You are expected to be able to work independently quickly post your induction with guidance and support for more challenging or complex aspects of this role; 
• You will carry out wide range of duties independently with guidance and supervision available; 
• You will contribute your knowledge and experience to the wider team / organisational development

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• With support from the Marketing Director, create and deliver content plans for charity fundraising and awareness campaigns.
• Take a lead role in developing a monthly marketing calendar to plan and schedule content in line with the overall Marketing Strategy
• Work directly with young people and through the Charity’s team to tell their stories, working to make this a positive, empowering experience for them.
• Prepare monthly analytics report and adjust marketing plans accordingly in discussion with Marketing Director.
• Write, design and send newsletters for charity stakeholders.
• Write, design and upload blogs posts on the Charity’s website.
• Write, design and schedule social media posts.
• With support from the Marketing Director, make updates and improvements to the Charity’s website.
• Monitor and respond to engagement on social media, maintaining a positive digital community. 
• Create press releases as requested and collaborate with PR partners to raise the profile of Caudwell Youth.
• Create designs for the Charity to use across all marketing channels, building strong relationships with all departments.
• Support consistent use of our brand across the charity 
• Support the volunteering function by implementing and evaluating digital advertising plans to recruit volunteer mentors, including by using social media and google ads grant.

TRAVEL & TEAM

• Some travel to events to take photos and videos for the charity.
• Some travel to work with young people.
• Endeavour to promote Caudwell Youth’s values in all that you do. 
• Be an ambassador for Caudwell Youth. 

ADMINISTRATION

• Work within budgets, properly justifying / accounting for expenditure.
• Ensure good administration, record keeping and reporting of all work undertaken in line with data protection and other regulations.

PARTNERSHIPS & LIAISON

• Work closely with the team and with key stakeholders to promote good communication and shared focus.
• Represent the Charity professionally and appropriately to other organisations.

• Work effectively as a team, supporting other team members and be willing to receive support whilst fulfilling your own responsibilities and tasks.

The Royal Hospital Chelsea, home of the iconic Chelsea Pensioners since 1692, is seeking a Marketing Manager to help raise public awareness and support for the organisation, including increasing footfall to our year-round site tours and events programme, to help meet its core objectives. 

The successful candidate will have a strategic mindset and proven experience of managing impactful multi-channel campaigns for a respected national institution, ideally in the cultural, charity, military or public sectors. We're looking for:

We are looking for a proactive and creative marketing professional with at least five years’ experience marketing key initiatives for a recognised public institution or national brand. You’ll be hands-on, and equally comfortable planning campaigns and creating content yourself, with an excellent editorial eye across our different channels and a strong understanding of what drives public engagement.

You must be:

• A proactive strategist and executor, who is experienced in marketing a wide range of projects including ideally events to the public.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Performance Analysis:

• 3+ years of experience in marketing strategy development and execution.
• Experience producing a wide range of marketing materials, including digital content and publications.
• Strong IT skills, including familiarity with website content management systems (e.g., WordPress), marketing analytics tools, and email marketing platforms.
• Ability to analyse data to evaluate campaign performance and inform decision-making.
