The Society of Antiquaries of Scotland is looking for expertise in writing successful major funding bids to help it deliver its Transformation Plan. The applicant will deliver a successful Expression of Interest (EOI) and initial Development Phase grant application for submission to the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) Grants over £250,000 scheme. The core of this application includes the acquisition and redevelopment of a B-listed building in central Edinburgh.

Specification
Delivery to the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland Director of a completed Expression of Interest (EOI) for submission to the National Lottery Heritage Fund for a major grant over £250,000. The total value of the grant will be in the region of £5 million.

The Development phase application will be fully completed and ready to submit for the end of February 2025 application deadline as set by NLHF.

The initial EOI will be fully completed and ready to submit as soon as possible (e.g. October 2024) to provide time to meet the end of February 2025 application deadline as set by NLHF.

Both the EOI and Development phase application will be developed in collaboration with Society of Antiquaries of Scotland staff and trustees with advice from the More Partnership and others as required.

The EOI and Development phase application will include a persuasive case for support developed in collaboration with the More Partnership and supported by research already undertaken on the Transformation Project. Information on research already available for an application can be provided on request.

The successful applicant will assist with quotes, costs and budget for the project application.

The successful applicant will work collaboratively with Society staff and trustees, and the wider project team, to follow a work schedule and timetable mutually agreed at the earliest opportunity, and within two weeks of being awarded the contract.

The successful applicant will report to the Director of the Society, Dr Simon Gilmour.

Both the EOI and Development phase application will be to the highest quality as agreed by the Director of the Society.

The tender is for work up to £27,000 in value (including VAT) to deliver two documents. A successful application will be rewarded with a further £10,000 after completion of the initial project.

Terms and conditions
The applicant will undertake and complete quality EOI and Development phase (stage 1) NLHF grant applications before the end of February 2025, including the development of a persuasive case for support in collaboration with the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland and external organisations contracted or otherwise directed by the Society. This will build on work already undertaken towards the application.
The applicants work will comprise and deliver all the key activities, objectives and milestones, services, deliverables and outputs as stated and laid out in the Society’s tender document and in any proposal bid submitted to the Society in response to the tender.
Both parties will follow a work schedule and timetable mutually agreed at the earliest opportunity, and within two weeks of being awarded the contract.
Initial milestones will include (dates to be confirmed):
1) The signing of an agreed contract
2) The delivery of a completed EOI for submission by the Society to the NLHF (mid-October 2024)
3) The NLHF response to the EOI
4) The delivery of a completed Development phase (stage 1) application for submission by the Society to the NLHF (end-February 2025)
5) The NLHF response to the Development phase (stage 1) application (end-June 2025)

On completion of work and on receipt of all agreed deliverables sent to the Society on time, in full and to high quality, the Society will pay the successful applicant in mutually agreed stages (dates to be confirmed):
- Payment 1 (30%, £8,100) to be paid once the contract is signed by both parties (September 2024 – milestone 1)
- Payment 2 (10%, £2,700) to be paid on receipt of a completed EOI for submission by the Society to the NLHF (mid-October 2024 - milestone 2)
- Payment 3 (10%, £2,700) to be paid on receipt of positive response from NLHF to EOI application (20 working days - milestone 3)
- Payment 4 (50%, £13,500) to be paid on receipt of a completed Development phase (stage 1) application for submission by the Society to the NLHF (end-February 2025 - milestone 4)
- Payment 5 (£10,000) to be paid on receipt of a positive response from NLHF to the Development phase (stage 1) application (end-June 2025 – milestone 5)
Any changes to the brief or methodology to be employed by the successful applicant will be mutually agreed in writing. Any such changes will not affect the overall cost unless agreed in writing with the Director of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland.

Any intellectual property which the applicant generates during this project shall belong to the Society. Such intellectual property may include (but is not limited to) copyright works, computer programs, designs, documentation, trademarks and ownership rights or other materials.
If the applicant generates any such intellectual property they will promptly provide full details to the Society and will not disclose any details to anyone outside the Society either during or after this contract period.

Proposals submitted in response to this tender will be evaluated on value for money, quality of submission, and experience in relation to the criteria below. However, the full guide price is expected.

Role Description

The Programme Manager is a highly-efficient, well-organised, and internationally-respected member of the nuclear policy community.They are expected to be able to take primary ownership of project delivery management as well as lead the development of multiple new projects, including developing ideas leading to successful fundraising.They will have strong knowledge of several methodologies which could be used for new projects and will have a track record of winning funding, as well as some knowledge of funding relationships. 

The Programme Manager will have specialisation in the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Regime and will need to have a good general knowledge of global security and conflict resolution, and a demonstrable ability to design and carry out project management and research to a high standard. They are expected to be an internationally recognised researcher with a strong area of specialisation related to nuclear weapons issues, specifically in the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty regime. 

The Programme Manager will implement the Non-Proliferation Treaty Monitor (NPT Monitor), a platform that provides independent analysis and information on the effectiveness and implementation of the Treaty by the NPT-recognised nuclear-weapon States. The key objective for the Programme Manager will be to develop this project to a level where the NPT Monitor becomes a permanent and essential fixture of the NPT regime, providing significant analysis on treaty implementation for States Parties (especially smaller delegations), NGOs, and academia. 

The Programme Manager will demonstrate exceptional leadership and vision within the nuclear policy community. They will have a robust track record of policy-relevant publications. A strong network in their area of specialisation is essential, and they are expected to maintain and expand it to benefit BASIC. The Programme Manager will also be responsible for line managing team members across multiple projects, demonstrating exceptional leadership and fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

For the Senior Policy Fellow title, we expect a well-developed professional network, particularly in fundraising relationships; we expect the ability to manage large scale, complex projects with budgets exceeding £400,000/year; and we expect an independently developed vision for the growth and further development of the programme including a fundraising strategy to match this ambition. This role also demands a formal project or programme management qualification, although we are open to discussing the provision of training if this has not already been achieved.

About the role:

The European College of Equine Internal Medicine (ECEIM) was established in 2000 and is a not-for-profit speciality college that oversees the training, examination and completion/maintenance of credential requirements of veterinarians who are equine internal medicine specialists, referred to as ECEIM Diplomates. Currently the college is run by a team of dedicated trustees and are eager to take the next step and create capacity for growth.

This is a brand new role and in which you will have the opportunity to shape and develop what a successful Chief Operating Officer looks like for this exciting and far reaching college. Your role will be to enable ECEIM to operate more effectively in order to facilitate the College’s growth, working with the board members to understand their vision, and work to enhance, develop and support on existing  key processes and procedures that help the college to run effectively. What we can offer you:

About ECEIM

The European College of Equine Internal Medicine (ECEIM) is a not-for-profit speciality college that oversees the training, examination and completion/maintenance of credential requirements of veterinarians who are equine internal medicine specialists.

Role Summary

ProVeg International works to normalise and advance the protein transition and adoption of plant-rich diets through influencing the food industry, with the end goal of transforming the food selection in supermarkets and on menus to be more in line with healthy, sustainable diets.

Working closely with the Director of Partnerships and Institutional Engagement, you will build a strategy to encourage pre-competitive collaboration between food companies to drive forward progress on the protein transition. THE ROLE:

This role is a three-day position with an immediate start available. The Social Media Marketing Manager at Animal Justice Project will be responsible for developing and executing digital marketing strategies to drive engagement, increase donations, and raise awareness of the organisation's mission. The successful candidate will be crucial in expanding Animal Justice Project’s reach, driving campaign and fundraising efforts, and contributing to the mission of promoting a vegan world.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Strategic Planning, Content Planning and Campaign Management
• Develop and implement comprehensive digital marketing strategies
• Utilise tools like ASANA, ManyChat and Trello
• Oversee content creation, including copywriting, visuals, videos and infographics
• Plan, execute, and optimise digital campaigns across social media channels

• Ensure timely responses to mentions and interactions

Reviewing and Approving New Content:

Platform-Specific Customisations:

Monthly Tasks (Analytics and Ads Management):
• Use data-driven insights to measure and optimise campaign performance
• Report on performance and evaluate success monthly

Ads Creation and Management:
• Work with the Fundraising Lead Gen and Campaigns team to create and manage ads on social media and Google

‍SEO and Keyword Research, Copywriting for Content:
• Conduct SEO research and craft compelling copy for digital content

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Proven Experience: At least 2 years in digital marketing, preferably in the non-profit sector or a cause-driven organisation
• Strategic Thinker: Ability to develop and implement effective digital marketing strategies
• Campaign Management: Success in planning and managing digital campaigns with a proven track record of achieving goals
• Content Creation: Proficiency in creating impactful content across various digital channels

• Work with Local Councils, Government bodies and other organisations in the regeneration of the high street, finding new shop opportunities, and developing profitable recycling and reuse projects.
• Build links and partnerships with Universities and similar organisations and deliver rummage sales, kilo sales, pop up shops and donation drives.
• Explore opportunities and develop projects that collaborate with like-minded organisations and corporate businesses.
• To contribute, develop, manage, and report on financial budgets, income and costs regularly with a focus on net surplus generation, working closely with the Finance department.
• Have an understanding of other SVP work and be able to promote it to external contacts appropriately, and work with SVP members to compliment their work and develop links.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

• Proven track record in researching, negotiating and developing new and net surplus generating projects
• Experience of financial management and budgetary control, and proven ability in business planning, and maximisation of net surplus
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and evidence of using them to communicate with different audiences
• Excellent and natural networking, influencing and negotiating skills, including the ability to collaborate and build partnerships through the development of contacts with senior external stakeholders
• IT literate with good competence in the use of Microsoft Office
• Good standard of Education, preferably to Higher or Degree level

We’re looking for a Data Officer to join our growing Young Sounds team. You will fulfil an important cross-organisational role, working closely with the team to collate and analyse the data collected through all our programmes.

About Young Sounds UK

Young Sounds exists because musical talent is everywhere but opportunity isn’t: family finances and other obstacles too often get in the way. We’re here to change this in two key ways:

• We support young musicians from low-income families with funding and other help;

• We support music education through training, advocacy and research.

We became an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation in April 2023 and also joined an expanded cohort of National Youth Music Organisations (NYMOs). We currently support around 900 individual young people across the UK every year and demand for our support is increasing. It’s an exciting time to join a pioneering organisation at the forefront of British music education.

The role

The Data Officer will fulfil an important cross-organisational role, working closely with the team to collate and analyse the data collected through all our programmes. Young Sounds is a reflective organisation. We’ve always invested time and effort in seeking out, understanding and demonstrating the difference our programmes are making. We believe in learning from experience. This is what we mean by evaluation.

Since 2023 we have committed to evaluating all three of our main programmes, each of which tackles a key barrier to young people’s musical progression. Each quarter we review our progress against both our Arts Council England Activity Plan (where measures of success are agreed annually) and the actions we’ve set for each year against each of Arts Council England’s four Investment Principles. We believe that data plays an integral part in telling the story of our work, and we regularly draw upon the information collated through evaluation to update our wider funding base (e.g. Trusts and Foundations) on the work we are doing. The Data Officer will work with the External Evaluator to enable us to report effectively and accurately on our progress to all our funders.

We are recruiting for an experienced Product & CRM Lead to develop processes and strategies to support user experience of our CRM (Salesforce) and take responsibility for our main fundraising product, Feed a School. With experience of driving product success and enhancing user experience, you will work in close collaboration with our global movement, contributing to the product’s success, both online and offline. As a global network, we have effectively harnessed CRM technology, and you will play a key role in supporting the growth of our movement to allow us to reach more children waiting for Mary’s Meals.

Reporting to our Director of National Affiliate Growth, you will provide inspirational leadership to our small CRM team and drive collaboration with teams in our National Affiliate countries, Marketing and Technology & Projects. The development of strong working relationships will be key to success in this role, as is the ability to act as the main point of contact between stakeholders and technical teams.

Key responsibilities & activities:  

• Lead the product development process through to launch.
• Lead, develop, coach and inspire a high-performing team, promoting a culture of engagement and empowerment including identifying and implementing opportunities for delegation and development.  
• Develop and maintain a balanced product strategy for online and offline fundraising efforts.

• 5 years of experience working with CRM platforms (ideally Salesforce) in a senior product or CRM delivery role.

Strategic Lead

The Role

In May 2024, the organisation launched REACH (Researching Effective Approaches for Children): A plan to find out what works to prevent domestic abuse and support child victims. 

You will develop a detailed plan to operationalise the REACH Plan, including the structure, governance, funding, partnerships and activities that will lead to finding what works in prevention and recovery from domestic abuse. You will also build key relationships in the sector, in survivor networks, in academia and among research funders and in national government to ensure acceptability and secure support for the plan and its objectives

Working closely with the leadership team, you will progress the existing plan to the point of being ready to launch a successful programme of work in April 2025.

You will have:

· A degree-level education or equivalent experience

· Operational experience: experience of organisational development and leadership

· An excellent understanding of the domestic abuse sector, including practice, policy and research

· A strong understanding of evidence (including experimental evidence), evidence based policy, and the role that evidence plays in service improvement
