We are looking for a proactive Workforce Projects Officer with organisational, people and coordination skills to join us here at the Royal College of Radiologists (RCR) to help us achieve our goal of growing the workforce in each of our clinical specialities, radiology and oncology, to enable patients to receive timely diagnosis and treatment.
Sitting in a high performing and dynamic Workforce Initiatives team, the Workforce Projects Officer will work collaboratively to establish feasible and impactful new initiatives to grow the workforce, developing those with the greatest potential impact to become business as usual. You will have strong project management experience and the ability to develop effective working relationships to contribute to several exciting projects covering UK training and curricula, upskilling allied medical and healthcare professionals and developing new pathways for globally trained doctors to join the UK workforce. As the Workforce Projects Officer you will be at the heart of the initiatives that ensure that the radiology and oncology workforce is well-supported and future ready.

What you’ll do:
- Support the development and implementation of changes to specialty curricula as necessary.
- Support annual recruitment campaign into the specialities.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive and broad knowledge of the key workforce issues facing both specialties.
- Proactively undertake research and identify potential opportunities and area for development to grow the workforce.
- Undertake planning, monitoring and delivery of workforce projects as agreed, ensuring they are delivered on time, to a high standard and within budget.
What you’ll need:
- Significant experience in planning and coordinating a diverse range of activities and projects within a relevant context.
- Understanding of monitoring and evaluation within a project context.
- Detailed understanding (or the ability to acquire it) of UK and EU legislation and GMC regulations and procedures in relation to entry to GMC registers and the right to work in the UK.
- Ability to work collaboratively and build and sustain effective working relationships with a diverse range of colleagues, partners and stakeholders at all levels.
- Clear and analytical thinker with the ability to exercise sound initiative, judgement and discretion.
- Ability to manage own time effectively and prioritise workload.

Key Responsibilities
1. Charity Governance: Working with the ELT and the charity’s Board of Trustees and Committees to lead the charity. Communicating progress against KPIs and challenges effectively, overseeing budgets and risk, and identifying resources needed.
2. Charity Leadership: Working with ELT, to act as an internal and external figurehead for the charity, embodying its culture and modelling its values, and supporting the development of staff across the organisation.
3. Executive Decision Making: Working with SLT to make decisions on key charity priorities and policies, e.g. expansion plans, programme adaptations, major resourcing decisions, and recruitment of senior staff.
4. Business Development: Working with the charity’s CPO to source new business opportunities both in terms of growing and expanding the charity’s core programmes and identifying new innovations and funding. This includes managing key stakeholders (e.g., senior leaders in colleges, sixth forms and training providers).
5. Operations and Finances: Working with the COO to ensure the financial stability of the charity and protecting and managing the charity’s assets.
6. Impact: Overseeing the work of the Director of Impact to ensure that the charity strengthens its approach to monitoring and evaluation, and that all preparations are successfully completed ahead of a potential independent external evaluation of our core programme in 25/26.
7. External Affairs: Overseeing both our fundraising and advocacy workstreams, including the development of relationships with new funders and politicians and policymakers. Representing the charity at external events (including certain conferences and fundraising events), and safeguarding the charity’s reputation and values, ensuring that risks are properly recognised and mitigated.
Required Experience / Characteristics
- Clear commitment to the work of the charity, its mission and its values
- A proven senior leader, with experience of delivering against ambitious targets across multiple departments or programmes and working with a Board of Trustees or directors
- An excellent relationship builder, including the development of commercial relationships with senior stakeholders (e.g., in the education sector, third sector and/or government)
- Demonstrable experience in exercising strategic development and sound judgment
- Strong line management skills, including evidence of managing and developing teams and nurturing autonomous senior leaders
- Strong interpersonal skills, with experience of managing diverse stakeholders including senior leaders, funders, politicians and/or policymakers
- Knowledge of the education system, including the policy and political context

This is a fantastic role working with a small team supporting the planning and delivery of a sector-leading training offer, CILIP Learn. CILIP Learn is an exciting new platform under development for CILIP’s learning and CPD offer to members and the sector.
CILIP prides itself on presenting high quality training events, often in partnership with external training providers. Training sessions are specifically designed for those working across the information, knowledge and library professions. Sessions are currently half-day, online training programmes: making them affordable and flexible to fit in around work commitments, and with the attention to detail to gain valuable skills. All our training events are delivered by experienced trainers, with specialist subject knowledge. This role directly supports the delivery of CILIP training, specifically training contracted by employers, and training delivered through partnerships.
The role
Reporting to the Director of Sector Development and working closely with the CILIP Learn Development Manager the Training and Partnerships Officer will support in the delivery of CILIPs training offer.
The ideal candidate will have a broad experience in delivering or overseeing training delivery, online events and webinars, managing successful relationships with stakeholders and have strong IT skills. The main responsibilities of the role include:
- To work with the Director of Sector Development and the CILIP Learn Development Manager to deliver a market-leading training offer for CILIP within CILIP Learn. To deliver and evaluate a portfolio of training events, building effective relationships with training providers.
- To support successful contract and stakeholder management related to the training partnerships and training contracts.
- To develop and maintain systems and processes which ensure that the development of the CILIP Learn offer is based on data, evidence and market intelligence.
It is not essential for the candidate to possess prior knowledge of the sector but they will have the right level of knowledge and enthusiasm to learn rapidly and bring their transferable skills to the role.
The role is 28 hours per week, ideally worked over 4 days but we are open to discussions around the working pattern for delivery of this role.

Sightsavers is looking for a Senior Learning Advisor to lead on the implementation and continuous development of the Disability Inclusive Development programme's learning strategy.

The Disability Inclusive Development (DIDIF) programme started in July 2018 and is a six year, £29.5m FCDO funded commercial contract managed by Sightsavers DIDIF Fund Management Team (FMT). The DIDIF programme is managed using a payment-by-results and New Engineering Contract (NEC3) contracting model. It is also adaptively managed. The DIDIF consortium consists of ten partners who work on innovation and scale projects across the programme's four thematic areas: health, education, livelihoods and negative stereotyping and discrimination. We work in six countries: Bangladesh, Kenya, Nepal, Nigeria, Tanzania and Uganda. The FMT is responsible for the programme's management: finance & risk; monitoring, evaluation and learning; adaptive management; reporting and quality assurance; governance; contract management; consortium management and donor relations.
The Senior Learning Advisor leads on the implementation and continuous development of the DIDIF programme's Learning Strategy (also called "the Learning Architecture"), a component of the DIDIF programme's MEL Strategy.
The Senior Learning Advisor leads on establishing the learning priorities for Learning Architecture's four operational areas (project, programme, consortium and organisation) and ensure those learning priorities meet the programme's strategic objectives. At this stage of the programme, the focus is upon delivery. Key duties include:
- Providing technical direction to all Learning Architecture projects and oversee implementation and delivery.
- They are responsible for the timely, quality delivery of learning products developed by the FMT.

The Role
The role involves managing the effective administration of the Medio-Legal Report Services including liaising with our medico-legal report writers, with instructing solicitors and with clients. It involves scheduling appointments, preparing the documentation to be provided to the writers and dispatching the final reports.
It will involve managing MLR doctors and recruitment and management of volunteers to support these functions, in order to ensure the smooth processing of referrals for medico-legal reports and robust production of these, from the point of acceptance to delivery and invoicing.

Black Thrive Global (BTG) evolved from the work of the Black Thrive Lambeth Partnership, established in 2016. We exist to address the inequalities that negatively impact the mental health and well-being of Black people so that the thriving of Black communities is the norm.
Our guiding principle is that Black communities should be at the forefront of reimagining, redefining, and co-creating a society where systemic racism and other oppressive systems have been dismantled so that they have fulfilling lives. We have two priorities – building a Black Thrive Research Institute and embedding race equity in systems change.
Purpose and Overview
The PCREF Programme aims to reduce and ultimately eliminate racial disparities in the services provided by the South London and Maudsley (SLaM) NHS Trust. The programme's success will be monitored through the Trust’s Performance & Quality system, emphasising collaboration between the Trust's staff, Black service users, their carers, and Black communities. The goal is to ensure equitable access, experiences, and outcomes for Black citizens utilising the Trust's services.
The Programme Manager for the Independent Advisory Groups (IAGs) in Lambeth and Southwark is crucial in advancing the objectives of the PCREF. This role focuses on fostering active community participation, building capacity, and ensuring that Black communities are equal partners in the transformational change programme. The Programme Manager will lead the development and support of local IAGs, ensuring robust governance, structure, and capacity building to improve mental health services.
Supporting the IAGs and the IAG chairs is fundamental to this role. It serves to enhance the capacity of the IAGs and chairs. Whilst the job description provides a succinct outline of responsibilities, ultimately the needs of the IAGs will be paramount, with direct leadership from the Director at Black Thrive. This role is in collaboration with various stakeholders, with a clearer focus on project mismanagement and varied learning styles. Leadership must be aligned with the IAGs, ensuring diverse and inclusive practices.
Supporting policy development is crucial, and there should be an agreement on oversight, with all parties having joint oversight and review responsibilities. Reporting back to the IAGs will be a key component.
The Programme Manager is expected to be a proactive and strategic leader, passionate about equity in mental health services and capable of driving meaningful change through collaboration with diverse community members and partners. Duties and Responsibilities
DEVELOPMENT AND SUPPORT
· Establish and Develop IAGs: Lead on supporting the creation and ongoing development of local IAGs in Lambeth and Southwark, ensuring robust governance structures and effective capacity building.
· Resource Management: support in Identifying and secure necessary resources, including financial, human, and material, to support IAG activities in both boroughs.
· Recruitment and Role Assignment: support in the recruit of diverse community members from Lambeth and Southwark to join IAGs, ensuring roles and responsibilities are clearly defined and assigned.
· General Management Duties: Temporarily oversee and manage day-to-day operations, supporting community service development initiatives and ensuring smooth running of IAG activities.
COMMUNITY ENGAGMENT AND COLLABORATION
· Facilitate Community Engagement: Support both IAG chairs in enhancing community engagement through active participation in IAGs, collaborating with SLaM and various voluntary/community organisations.
· Encourage Broader Participation: Foster participation from various community, statutory, and non-statutory organisations in IAG and PCREF activities.
· Build Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with local organisations, facilitating networking opportunities, and representing IAGs at PCREF events both online and in-person.
· Support IAGs: Provide continuous support and enhance the operational capacity of IAGs through regular check-ins, resource allocation, and problem-solving assistance.
COMMUNICATION AND PROMOTION
· Event Coordination: Plan, host, and deliver events, conferences, training sessions, and workshops to promote local services in both boroughs.
· Develop Communication Tools: Produce and disseminate communication materials in collaboration with the IAGS such as newsletters, toolkits, booklets, and feedback forms to support IAG activities and community engagement.
MEETINGS AND REPORTING
· Organise Meetings: Schedule and attend IAG and PCREF community meetings across Lambeth, Southwark, and other involved boroughs.
· Collaboration with Programme Managers: Work closely with the Croydon BME IAG Programme Manager and other stakeholders, attending regular update and planning meetings.
· Impact Measurement: Collaborate with the Maudsley Charity and Black Thrive to discuss and measure the impact of initiatives, generating detailed reports for stakeholders including for both IAGS.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND ADMINISTRATION
· Stay Informed: Keep abreast of PCREF change ideas and opportunities for IAG member contributions.
· Task Coordination: Oversee and coordinate additional tasks to ensure project success, managing administrative duties efficiently in line with IAG requirements.

This role is responsible for supporting effective financial management and reporting for projects and budget holders based within the Academy’s Finance Team. You will spend the majority of your time interacting with programme managers and budget holders to support on budgeting, forecasting, analysis of budget variances and provide regular finance reports to them, including monthly management accounts to ensure financial control and effective decision making
Key areas of responsibility:
- Lead on the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process including preparing budget templates for completion by budget holders, summaries of submissions for review and scrutiny and reconciliations of departmental budget submissions from draft to final.
- Work with Head of Finance to finalise the Academy budget for presenting to Director of Finance & Resources and the senior management team.
- Ensure that finalised forecasts and budgets are accurately imported into the accounting system and a full audit trail is maintained.
- Assist the Head of Finance and senior management team with the preparation of multi-year forecasts and models for bids and scenario planning.
