The post-holder will have the opportunity to develop Groundswell’s next fundraising strategy, working closely with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), and particularly Finance & Fundraising Director who can bring a wealth of knowledge and insight from recent external and internal reviews of Groundswell’s fundraising portfolio. You will be a champion for the joined up working of fundraising and communications, with the ability to line manage a team and lead strategic plans to engage a range of current and potential donors (individuals, trusts, corporates) to diversify Groundswell’s income and ultimately help Groundswell continue to create positive change in the lives of people, services and systems on their mission to tackle homeless health inequalities.

Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis (APF) is the UK’s leading charity dedicated to improving the health and well-being of people affected by pulmonary fibrosis. We’re here to ensure that people affected by pulmonary fibrosis (or lung scarring), their loved ones and the professionals caring for them have the support, resources and voice they need.

APF has grown significantly over the past five years, with our support services reaching over 10,000 people affected by pulmonary fibrosis (PF) each year. We have ambitious plans for further growth across our services and to fund more ground breaking research. As we enter a new five-year strategic period, we aim to grow our income to £3-5 million, which will underpin our exciting plans to support more people affected by pulmonary fibrosis and prevent lives being lost to this devastating disease.

The Charity Governance and Operations Manager will ensure robust operational, safeguarding, and governance frameworks are in place to support Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis’ continued growth. This role is critical for maintaining our compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, overseeing risk management, and embedding efficient operational structures. In addition, you will help foster a culture of high-quality supporter care and lead on continuous improvement to strengthen internal processes and staff development.

Terms of Appointment

Working hours: Full time (37.5 hours per week) or part-time (minimum 30 hours per week).

Reports to: Director of Finance and Operations (primary reporting line) Chief Executive Officer (dotted line reporting for governance and Board assurance).

Location: Hybrid (1–2 days per week in the Peterborough office, 3–4 days remote working.

Salary: £40k - £45k FTE (salary will be pro rata for part-time hours) dependent on experience.

Key Responsibilities
As part of the PBA Finance Team and leading the team, the Financial Advisor plays a critical role in maintaining the financial health of PBA, offering strategic advice, ensuring compliance, and overseeing day-to-day financial operations. The Financial Advisor works closely with PBA’s Accounts administrator.
Key responsibilities are:

• Work with the core team on the annual Business Planning process and help devise and produce the annual Budget.
• Assist in the compilation and analysis of the Approval and circulation of monthly /quarterly financial and management accounts, including a brief narrative report.
• Offer high level advice and guidance in support of and to help achieve the targets set out in the Business Plan.
• Act as one Authorised Signatory on all bank accounts and manage relationships with external financial institutions and banking partners.
• Oversee and liaise with auditors for the annual audit and other matters as required from time to time.
• Ensure VAT compliance and reporting.
• Be familiar with the cover afforded by all insurance policies and provide information on matters that may affect cover. Ensure appropriate insurance policies are in place and up to date.

ROLE OVERVIEW 

As our Management Accountant you will work with the Associate Director, Operations to manage our income and expenditure effectively. This will be achieved through timely provision of financial information including management accounts and funders reports as well the preparation of budgets, forecasts, funding proposals, and the ongoing review of our financial performance.

KEY DUTIES 

Financial Modelling and Forecasting 

• Build and manage a financial model capable of organising and forecasting the financial structures that result from income from multiple sources of funds. 

• Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making, including scenario planning and risk assessment. 

Internal Reporting 

• Work with our virtual finance office (external bookkeeping team) to ensure monthly management accounts are produced with the appropriate narrative. 

• Prepare quarterly financial accounts, variance analysis, and management information. 

• Monitor and report on restricted and unrestricted income, ensuring accurate allocation and reporting. 

Budgeting 

• Undertake the preparation of CZA’s annual budget and quarterly reforecasting. 

• Support non-finance staff by providing guidance on budget management and financial processes as needed. 

Grant-Based Financial Activity 

• Develop funder budgets and financial plans to be included in grant submissions. 

• Produce financial reports for multiple funders on a regular basis using their templates and following their specific funder guidelines in a timely manner. 

• Support sub-grant activity to ensure payments are accurate, timely and properly accounted for. 

Compliance and Governance 

• Ensure compliance with charity finance regulations, including Charity Commission reporting. 

• Act as the primary interface for CZA with external auditors. 

• Develop and review/update CZA financial processes, policies, and procedures, in line with the charity's Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP), building on these as the operation develops. 

Financial Systems and Automation 

• Manage and improve financial systems to ensure they effectively capture and report financial data. 

• Build in automation as needed to reduce manual processing. 

Reserves and Investment Management 

• Develop and monitor reserves policy to ensure financial stability. 

• Develop cashflow forecasts and models to inform investment decisions and ensure the organisation maintains adequate reserves. 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 

• Educated to first degree level or equivalent experience 

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) or working towards such a qualification and close to qualification 

• Significant relevant experience, ideally gained in the charity sector (working with grant income, familiar with Charities SORP (FRS 102) etc.) 

• Knowledge of the preparation of grant applications, monitoring of grant expenditure, grant reporting and close-out

• Ability to interpret financial information and present to both financial and non-financial stakeholders 

• In depth knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, in particular Excel

• Experienced in the use of Xero or similar financial systems 

• Ability to build processes and procedures and apply them with consistency

We are recruiting for a Legal Clinic Manager (maternity cover) who will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the Dickson Poon School of Law’s award-winning clinic, King’s Legal Clinic (‘the Clinic’).  The Clinic aims to improve access to justice and educate King’s students by providing free legal advice to members of the public through its Legal Advice Clinic; and working with local and international organisations on research and justice projects.

About the role

The Legal Clinic Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of King’s Legal Clinic (‘the Clinic’), under the direction of the Clinic Director and Assistant Director. The Legal Clinic Manager has line management responsibility for the Legal Clinic Coordinator and Legal Clinic Administrator.

Daily Clinic activities include supervising students in the processing of potential client enquires across the in-house Legal clinics; suitability and conflict checks with law firm partners; allocation of cases to student advisors and internal and external supervisors; delivery and organisation of the Clinic’s research and justice projects and training program.

The Legal Clinic Manager is responsible for ensuring the Clinic works smoothly, efficiently and is a positive learning environment and workplace for students and Clinic staff.

The role holder must have excellent organisational, IT, project management, and communication skills.  An ability to relate to and work with a diverse range of students, partner organisations and clients. The position is likely to be of particular interest to a well-organised, proactive individual with experience of working in and managing in a legal environment and/or Higher Education with good academic qualifications. A background in legal practice and/or process improvement work, and demonstrable interest in access to justice is desirable.

The role is a full-time post (1FTE) offered on a 12 months fixed term contract, starting in the first week of July 2025 with the possibility of extension.  The role is based in King’s Legal Clinic (Strand Campus) and will require regular attendance on campus.  Some remote working is possible by prior agreement with the Clinic Director.

About the role

You will be responsible for developing and diversifying the base of supporters and achieving fundraising targets. You will help maintain our existing stable income but also develop other income streams, expand our supporter networks, and build our sustainability for the future. The successful candidate will develop and maintain relationships with trusts and foundations as well as corporate partners and individual givers. You will develop and deliver successful plans to diversify and optimize our income as well as maintaining and improving the tools, processes, and internal expertise to ensure sustainability. You will explore other forms of fundraising, such as crowdfunding, major donors, and events.

Skills and experience

You will have a proven track record of soliciting, managing, and securing income from diverse income streams. You will have experience of developing successful grant applications and proposals for support to trusts and foundations. You will have digital fundraising fluency such as using social media to build support and run crowdfunding campaigns.

You will be an outstanding written communicator with the ability to absorb and synthesize complex information and translate it into compelling written cases for support. You should have excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills with the ability to relate to, influence, and persuade internal and external stakeholders at all levels. You should be proactive, positive, and able to work on your own initiative, learn and test creative approaches, and remain resilient in the face of setbacks. Heart Research UK is a leading non-profit organisation dedicated to stopping people dying from heart diseases. The Health Promotion & Education team enhance the heart health of the UK population through innovative health improvement programs.

The Healthy Heart Coach will deliver health checks, provide tailored heart health lifestyle advice, and conduct heart health coaching sessions within community, workplace and event settings. TLG is seeking a Head of Operations to join our team as we establish a new organisational and leadership structure. This role aims to achieve a step change in effectiveness by implementing strategic initiatives that enhance efficiency, productivity, and innovation, in partnership with the Executive Director.

The Head of Operations will lead a team of specialists and operational leaders focused on executive support, strategy, innovation, and digital operations & transformation. They will work closely with the Executive team to operationalize vision and strategy, champion compliance, and ensure effective governance and seamless organizational cycles.

We seek a leader who can engage with the big picture while valuing the details, balancing process-driven approaches with creativity. The ideal candidate will have a track record of building relationships at all levels to make an impact.

The Association of Commonwealth Universities, a 400-strong global network working together to strengthen higher education across the Commonwealth, is seeking a new Head of Philanthropy to drive their fundraising strategy.

As the world’s first and oldest international university network, the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) has been bringing universities together from across the Commonwealth for more than 100 years. Our network currently encompasses over 400 universities in more than 40 countries.

In this newly created role, the Head of Philanthropy will develop and implement a philanthropic fundraising strategy for the ACU. In the longer term, we wish to continue building the existing endowment for the Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarships and develop new programmes to support our strategy, including our ground-breaking initiative, the King’s Commonwealth Fellowship Programme (KCFP). You’ll play a key role in our journey as we develop this unique and compelling new initiative, inspired by His Majesty The King, to strengthen the climate resilience of Commonwealth Small Island Developing States (SIDS).

This is an exciting opportunity to play a leadership role in developing a high-performing philanthropy function that will deliver income targets and further our mission of creating opportunities for individuals and strengthening universities.

You will work with high-calibre staff and volunteers, helping to drive and implement a major gift programme and undertake active fundraising. Working with the CEO and Director of External Affairs, you will cultivate and steward transformational relationships with high-net-worth individuals, trusts and foundations while overseeing the management and nurturing of a small fundraising team.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a proactive, senior major donor fundraiser who is comfortable at all levels of philanthropic cultivation, from prospecting and building a strong pipeline to building relationships and securing gifts from high-net-worth individuals and ultra-high-net-worth individuals.

Due diligence is critical to this role, so understanding and experience within this is key.

Person Specification:

• Direct experience of donor engagement and stewardship, including reporting.

• Direct experience, or a demonstrably clear understanding of fundraising ethics and gift acceptance.

• A leadership style that combines strategic vision and oversight with personal involvement and close attention to detail.

• A natural flair for building confidence among senior volunteers and colleagues.

• The ability, confidence and diplomatic awareness to work with senior stakeholders.

• Line management experience.

Associated Country Women of the World (ACWW) is an international non-governmental organisation which works to amplify the voices of rural women globally.  Our small Central Office team work with member organisations and individuals in the UK and around the world to ensure that rural women are recognized for their critical importance in society, represented, and have a platform to influence policy makers.  We combine advocacy and small-scale, women-led development projects designed by the local women who will implement them for the benefit of their communities.

This an exciting time to join ACWW in the lead up to our centenary and planning for our next Triennial World Conference in 2026.

We are looking to appoint a Communications Officer for the equivalent of 4 days per week (28 hours) to work alongside our current one-day per week social media Communications Officer to expand engagement and attract new members.

The role is to build the strength of ACWW’s communications, including website content, social media, and written copy, and help highlight the advocacy and projects work done by the organisation. This will involve building relevant and engaging content and working with other members of our team to build and deliver a successful digital strategy and contribute to our bi-annual printed magazine.

ACWW is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Communications Officer to help us further develop our presence online, and to better reach audiences around the world. The successful candidate will report to the Advocacy Director and work closely with the other members of the staff team and Trustees.
