About the role:
The primary focus of the Bookkeeper role is credit control - raising invoices and following up on accounts receivable for our membership (approximately 1000 participants). The role will also include posting expenses and ensuring they are properly documented, reconciling bank accounts, and ensuring that records are accurate, up-to-date, and comply with relevant accounting principles.
This is a part-time role (3 days per week to start). The successful candidate may normally work from home or our office, but occasional in-person meetings at the office will be required (minimum twice per month).
Who we are looking for:
- Someone with a strong understanding of financial principles and practices, with excellent attention to detail – ensuring accuracy in financial records and reports.
- Someone with strong organisational skills, capable of managing time effectively and prioritising multiple tasks efficiently.
- A confident communicator, both in writing and verbally, who can interact well with team members, management, and external stakeholders. They should also be comfortable using the telephone and willing to make calls when needed.
- Strong mathematical skills and the ability to work with numbers accurately is essential.
- Someone with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to review and interpret financial data, resolve discrepancies, and provide valuable insights to support senior management's decision-making.
- An individual with good IT skills who is proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, along with experience in accounting software and CRM systems like Salesforce. We use Xero, but knowledge of this specific software is not required.
In your first 6 months:

Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Accounts Receivable: Manage accounts receivable (member invoicing and collections) ensuring that all invoices are generated on time and payments are collected effectively.
- Monitor Member Accounts: Track outstanding balances and proactively contact members regarding unpaid invoices to ensure timely payment
- Debt Collection: Chase overdue payments by phone or email.

- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of member accounts, including invoices, payment history, and communications, and provide regular reports to senior management.
- Cash Allocation: Ensure all incoming payments are correctly allocated to the corresponding invoices.
- Dispute Resolution: Investigate and resolve any disputes or queries regarding invoices or payments.
- Reporting: Provide regular reports on outstanding debts, overdue accounts, and the overall status of the company’s receivables to senior management.
- Liaison: Collaborate with internal teams (Participant Engagement/Impact & Growth/Programmes) to resolve any issues that may delay payment.
- Expense Management: Track company expenses and ensure they are allocated correctly across teams.
- Bank Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile bank accounts to ensure that all transactions are properly allocated and accounted for, and discrepancies are addressed.
- VAT Compliance: Ensure VAT is accurately applied to all relevant transactions and prepare VAT returns for review by our accountant or Executive Director before submission, in compliance with legal requirements.
- Support Audits: Prepare relevant documents and assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary financial records.
- Petty Cash Handling: Manage petty cash transactions and ensure they are recorded appropriately.
The Bookkeeper may also be required to perform general finance and accounts-related tasks as needed to support the overall financial operations of the company.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar financial role.
- Certification in bookkeeping, or equivalent
- A good understanding of double-entry bookkeeping is essential, along with familiarity with tax and regulatory requirements.

Marketing

London's Air Ambulance treats patients who experience critical injury in the capital and support them and their families on a road to recovery. This is only possible through close collaboration between London's Air Ambulance Charity, the London Ambulance Service (LAS), Barts Health NHS Trust (Barts), London's Major Trauma Centres and the wider Major Trauma Networks, to deliver groundbreaking care and save lives. To deliver this service the charity is split across two locations, with offices in Mansell St and in the Royal London Hospital.
London's Air Ambulance Charity has recently agreed an ambitious 15-year strategy to deliver the best possible care to the people of London. This strategy will involve growth into new areas of work, more complexity in income and expenditure streams, and an increased need for strong financial leadership to guide the charity, its staff and its board of trustees.
The Head of FP&A is a key member of the finance team and, alongside the Head of Financial Accounting, will help shape the strategic management and direction of the team. The Head of FP&A is a key senior role in the charity to support the Directors, Trustees and budget holders to understand and interpret the charity's finances.
Reporting to the Director of Finance, IT and Facilities, the Head of FP&A will lead on the charity's financial planning, budgeting and forecasting, as well as having a key role in the long-term strategic financial planning process. The Head of FP&A will manage the Finance Business Partnering function which provides expert support and guidance to budget holders and key stakeholders across the charity.
Key areas of responsibilities;

About the role.

The Finance Business Partner position is a newly created role within the charity, created to facilitate significant recent and upcoming growth owing to the success of their programmes. The Centre for Finance & Security (CFS) at RUSI is a leading authority on the intersection of finance and security. Main purpose of the post
CFS places great importance on the professionalism of its operations.The ideal person for this role will therefore be a skilled administrator who will partner with different members of the team to ensure the smooth and effective running of our team.This will include working with the Director to ensure robust team operations, managing events, and producing our social media and podcast outputs to support our mission to maximise the impact of CFS’ research and other activities.

Key tasks

- Team administration

The Holocaust Educational Trust (HET) is a registered charity working with schools, colleges and communities across the country to raise awareness about the Holocaust and its relevance today.
We have an exciting opportunity for an Education and Production Officer to join our team based in Central London. After several years of research and development, we have recently launched Testimony 360, a brand-new digital programme for UK secondary schools that uses interactive survivor testimony and virtual reality to innovatively teach about the Holocaust. Through the programme, students can have a personal and conversational experience with a recording of a Holocaust survivor before seeing some of the sites they experienced for themselves using virtual reality headsets, all without leaving their classroom.
The successful candidate will serve as a member of the Trust’s Testimony 360 Team, responsible for the digital post-production and testing of interactive recorded testimony to ensure its fluency and usability in the classroom. We are looking for an individual with confident IT skills and the ability to quickly learn how to use new technologies and programmes. As an expert in Holocaust education, you will also contribute to the successful delivery of our Testimony 360 programme through weekly in-person school visits during term time or as required.
Responsibilities
Post-Production, interactive survivor testimony
· Lead on the development (post-production) of interactive testimony, including clipping, annotation, data/metadata input, and Alpha/Beta testing. Throughout testing, leading the training process which ensures the system’s accuracy.
· Maintain regular contact with our partner organisation, the USC Shoah Foundation, including progress updates, shared learning, required training.
· Support colleagues undertaking training and/or working on supportive post-production.
· Logging activity and decisions regarding the post-production editing process, as discussed with members of the Testimony 360 team and/or USC Shoah Foundation.
· Organise and deliver Alpha and Beta testing stages, working directly with students both online and in-person to deliver test sessions and action necessary follow up (to ensure learning from test sessions is fed back).
Delivery
· Contribute to delivery of Testimony 360 through regular, in-person school delivery as part of the wider team, ensuring that the programme is delivered through a robust pedagogical approach. Expected to deliver Testimony 360 one every two weeks throughout term time.
· Plan and deliver Beta testing sessions as part of the development of the interactive testimonies, sharing knowledge and expertise with other Education Officers supporting in this delivery.
· The successful applicant may also be expected to deliver educational sessions to students, teachers and our young Ambassadors outside the Testimony 360 programme and throughout the year. In-person sessions will take place in the UK and sometimes abroad.
General
· We expect all members of the Education team to share their learnings and expertise both internally and externally. This role will require discussions about our learnings from Testimony 360 with the wider Education team, and we encourage consideration for how these learnings might feed into our wider educational offer.
· As an educational charity, we must ensure that education about the Holocaust is the core of all work. Working as part of wider team of 3 people, you will report to the Director of Finance and Operations and support the team in delivering effective and comprehensive service across the charity. This growing charity supports and provides lifesaving treatment for sick and vulnerable individuals.
Working as a part time Finance Officer your duties will include;
- Processing high volume accounts payable invoices
- Matching, batching and coding invoices
- Looking after the Finance inbox
- Processing staff expenses
- Download and correctly process income
- Set weekly payment runs
This is a busy role and you will be required to manage multiple tasks, so your ability to prioritise is essential. Othe skills that you will bring to your role part time Finance Officer will include;
- Prior experience in similar role
- Knowledge of an accounting software such as Access or SUN systems
- Knowledge of debits and credits
- Experience of processing staff expenses
- Setting up automated payment runs
