About Respect
Respect is a pioneering UK membership organisation in the domestic abuse sector. Founded in 2000, we have built our expertise over the last 23 years in what was then a fledgling sector and recently have seen significant and rapid growth.
Respect supports frontline organisations across the UK, so that together we can end domestic abuse. Our work is wide ranging: we offer accreditation of specialist services; we provide training for individuals and organisations working in the sector; we work in partnership with others to innovate and develop practice; we provide two helplines to enable service users to get the help and advice they need; we lobby influencers to improve policy and practice; we support up-to-date research undertaken by specialists in the field; and we fundraise to ensure important work continues to happen.
Respect has seen rapid growth over the last few years, and we now have 60+ staff running a range of projects and core activities and have ambitious plans for further growth and influence.
Our vision
We want a world where everyone is free from domestic abuse. Where it is never ok to control, harm or cause fear. Where those who perpetrate domestic abuse are stopped, held to account and given the chance to change.
Our mission
We work with our members, partners and allies to stop the harms done by those who perpetrate domestic abuse. With innovative practice, robust research and quality data, we build evidence of what works, promote safe, effective practice and drive high standards. We use our voice, in collaboration with others, to call for a response to domestic abuse that matches the scale of the problem. We will not stop, until domestic abuse stops.
Our Focus
Respect was founded to focus on perpetrators of domestic abuse and this, including our vital work with young people who cause harm, will remain our key priority. Our work with male victims will continue as an important, distinct, project.
Our Values
-
Pioneering - We explore innovative ideas and develop new approaches with curiosity and rigour.
-
Collaborative - We work in partnership with our members, partners and allies to bring about individual, societal and systems change.
-
Accountable- We listen to survivors and centre their needs in our work. We hold perpetrators to account for their behaviour and hold ourselves and our members accountable for ours.
-
Respectful - We live up to our name. We are committed to equity, diversity and inclusion in all that we do. We are honest, compassionate and boldly challenge injustice.
Make a Change
Make a Change is a community-wide, early response approach to people using abusive behaviours (or who are concerned that they might be) towards a current or ex-partner. The model has been developed by Respect in partnership with Women’s Aid Federation England, drawing inspiration from their Change that Lasts approach. It includes three strands: expert support programme for perpetrators with parallel support for survivors, workforce development and community outreach.
Improving the safety, freedom and wellbeing of adult and child survivors of domestic abuse is a key outcome for our work with perpetrators. The Make a Change model is a multi-partner project offering local areas a framework for delivering perpetrator work. Where feasible, we aim to establish partnerships with local survivor domestic abuse service to deliver parallel support for survivors (referred to as Integrated Support Service) as part the expert support strand.
Purpose of the role:
The Senior Communications and Policy Officer will work with the Make a Change team at Respect to advance the development of communication and policy activities for the Make a Change model in project sites and nationally to encourage uptake in new areas. They will also work with Respect’s Communications and Influence leads to ensure alignment with the organisation's broader messaging and advocacy efforts, maximising the impact of Make a Change initiatives. The postholder will lead on developing and implementing communication strategies and plans in partnership with our delivery partners across the sites.
We would particularly welcome applications from individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and across all protected characteristics1, particularly from people from the following under-represented groups:
-
Black and minoritised people

We're recruiting for someone to lead our public engagement work on climate and nature and ensure that the public are involved in critical decisions on how to reach net zero and protect the future of nature and land in the UK.
Involve has a commitment to use our skills, time and experience to address big challenges. Climate change is one of those big challenges and is a policy area where citizen engagement on both principles and practice is vital. It, and Net Zero in particular, risk becoming a polarised and politicised issue where there is little room for considered, inclusive decision making.
This exciting role will lead and coordinate our work with institutions, and others, to find a way through difficult issues like low emission zones, the energy transition, industrialisation of green spaces and other challenges in a way that centres the people who are impacted, with a social justice and equity lens. This role will primarily sit within our Innovation and Practice (I&P) function - focused on practical delivery of public engagement such as citizen assemblies, juries and other deliberative processes. The successful candidate will lead several of our major climate change and nature projects, including the UKRI Net Zero Living project - working with 28 Councils to embed meaningful public participation in their route to net zero. You will also contribute to the training, standards setting and advocacy work that Involve does - maintaining and growing our reputation in climate and environment networks and communicating the contribution we can make and impact that we are having.
We have a significant track record in public deliberation on climate change. We ran the first Climate Assembly in the UK and have since delivered many projects in this area including the People’s Plan for Nature. We have developed a reputation for best practice public dialogue, deliberation and capacity building. We want to grasp the opportunity for deliberative practices to make a real contribution to the change needed to respond to the climate crisis. This is a great opportunity to play a central role in taking this work forward. We are looking for someone to bring experience in designing and running participatory and deliberative processes and a good understanding of the complexities and challenges of climate and/or nature. You will need to be committed to taking a collaborative approach - co-creating and coordinating our strategy on public engagement across the organisation and build on the work that others are doing.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.

At More Partnership, we are fundraising consultants – and more. We support organisations of every size, across education, health, the arts, international development and more, on every step of their philanthropic journey. That means helping leadership, fundraisers and other professionals to understand the opportunity, set direction, tell their story, or review performance. We believe great partnerships lead to life-changing outcomes, so when it matters most, we go beyond what's expected of us to help organisations realise their vision. At the end of a project, our clients tell us they have more confidence, momentum, and a clear way forward.
We are partners in purpose, and since April 2020, equal owners of our firm. Each member of our team has an equal say in the decisions we make, a share in our success, and a responsibility to push us forward. We are a virtual firm, networked across Europe, America, Africa and beyond, with a head office in Scotland. More Partnership currently has 18 consultants, enabled by an Advancement team covering business development, finance, operations and IT.
We are now looking to recruit for a Head of Business Development responsible for designing and delivering a strategy to enable our growth, quality, learning and marketing. This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our business development strategy at a key moment in our evolution. You will coordinate activity that helps deliver the highest quality work with lasting impact, continues to grow our reputation across sectors, and inspires clients to return to us time and again. Under your leadership, we'll continue to support colleagues' growth and to pass these benefits on to our clients. You'll work collaboratively with consultants and clients to seize the opportunity to enhance and refine our business development function – strengthening its impact for the long-term success of More Partnership and the organisations we serve. Reporting to the Managing Partner, you'll work closely with the Finance and Operations, and IT & Systems Lead as part of the Advancement Executive Team, and line manage the Business Development Manager.
The role involves regular travel across the UK (and occasionally further afield) – usually once or twice per month. This role is available full-time, but we welcome applications from those who would prefer to work part-time – at a minimum of 0.8FTE based on the requirements of the role.
The successful candidate will bring experience designing and delivering effective business development strategies that include, inspire and empower people. You'll be highly commercially aware and bring a sound knowledge of the challenges and opportunities in the not-for-profit sector. You'll have a strong track record of putting that knowledge and awareness into action, drawing on data and insight to shape strategies that drive measurable outcomes and growth. To ensure these strategies succeed, you'll be adept at project management and skilled at communicating and influencing those around you towards a shared goal.

Protect Our Winters UK (POW UK) is a charity that rallies the outdoor community to drive meaningful action on climate change. We are a community of athletes, scientists, creatives, collaborators, and business leaders advancing non-partisan policies that protect our world today and for future generations.
We were founded in 2017 by a team of UK outdoor enthusiasts (like you) to mobilise the UK outdoor sports community. We work with athletes, creatives, the outdoor community, and outdoor industry to bring about a net zero society.
The Opportunity: We are looking for a visionary leader to drive its next stage of growth and impact. Over the past several years, POW UK has grown from a founding idea/cause by pro snowboarder Jeremy Jones to the leading voice for the outdoor community in the UK on climate. POW UK punches above its weight as a recognised, followed and loved brand. We need a leader who can establish the structural base (systems and processes) to enable the organisation’s growth and impact, as well as lead the delivery of the strategy set by the Board. The organisation currently has an annual operating budget of £280K, a 4-person team, and a community of athletes, creators, scientists, and business people in the world. With mounting evidence on climate change and its impacts and with sports clubs, organisations and governing bodies starting to understand this, POW UK’s moment is now. There are significant opportunities to nurture our current audience, grow its adjacent audiences, and expand its relevance. We believe the growth potential for POW UK’s positive influence is truly unlimited.

· Fundraising and Audience Expansion: Develop strategies to grow our donor base and build relationships with environmental organizations and sports communities.
· Public Speaking and Marketing: Represent POW UK at events and in the media. Use compelling storytelling to persuade and inspire action.
· Technical Acumen: Dive deep into climate policy and advocacy. Commit to continuous learning and embrace uncomfortable conversations to advance our thought leadership.
· Passion for the Outdoors: Lead by example with your love for extreme winter sports and the outdoor life. Understand the power of this passion to drive change.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree desired; Master's (e.g., MBA) preferred
· 10+ years of executive leadership experience in for-profit or non-profit organizations
· Proven track record of setting ambitious strategies, building teams, and achieving success
· Experience developing HR policies that promote diversity, inclusivity, equity, and learning
· Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
· Positive attitude and passion for climate action and the outdoors
· Understanding of competitive outdoor sports, and the broader outdoor sports community and industry experience preferred
· Belief in POW UK's mission and theory of change
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, resource-constrained environment
· Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills
· Ability to handle high-conflict situations with empathy
Why Join Us? As the CEO of POW UK, you will have the chance to lead a passionate team and community dedicated to protecting the environment. You will work with like-minded
