We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Direct Marketing and Fundraising Officer to join our Public Fundraising team. This role is integral to the smooth operation of our fundraising activities, particularly during appeals, where your coordination skills will be crucial.
Key Responsibilities:
Appeal Coordination:
- Assist the Direct Marketing Manager - Acquisition in keeping member agency fundraising directors and key suppliers up to date in the run-up to and during appeals.
- Update the fundraising and marketing team budget tracker, ensuring accurate financial tracking throughout the appeal process.
- Support the setup and management of Appeal Toolkits and Appeal Hubs, providing essential assets to staff, member agencies, and suppliers.
- Assist with the coordination and delivery of creative projects across all direct marketing channels, ensuring timely and effective execution.
- Work with the team to gather and report appeal results, providing updates to the Director of Fundraising and Marketing, Executive Team, and CEO’s office.
Ongoing Responsibilities:
- Organize and manage review meetings with suppliers’ post-appeal, contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
- Monitor and update core and appeal budgets, processing invoices and ensuring financial accuracy.
- Support the Director of Fundraising and Marketing in organizing and managing the Fundraising Director’s Group meetings, including diary coordination, preparing presentations, and taking minutes.
- Provide general administrative support to the Fundraising and Marketing team, including setting up monthly team meetings, organizing agendas, and coordinating away days.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Proven experience in project coordination and administrative support, ideally within a fundraising or marketing environment.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a keen eye for detail.
- Experience with budget tracking and financial processes.
- A proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to work well within a team.

We aim to sustainably increase the quality and value of our Individual Giving programme by continually testing, learning and innovating.
About the Role
The Marketing Manager (Acquisition) will plan and deliver effective direct response campaigns across paid channels, to build consideration, prompt action and drive income through the acquisition of new individual donors.
A key part of this role will be to lead on the day-to-day management and development of direct response TV (DRTV) and online video which are pivotal channels within our acquisition programme. By identifying the right supporters to target and inspiring them to commit to a regular monthly donation, you'll be a key driver of our Individual Giving supporter base growth and income.
Working within multi-disciplinary teams, you'll build strong relationships and cut through boundaries, in a fast-moving and dynamic environment. Leveraging agile principles, you'll flex and adapt - learning rapidly and responding to change, while keeping our supporters at the heart of everything you do.
In this role, you will:
• Plan and execute direct response TV and online video marketing campaigns, across a range of channels (e.g. direct response TV, bVOD, CTV), with a focus on audience, to drive ambitious income targets.
• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to attract new supporters – using insight and data to understand our audience's needs and motivations to build long term relationships.
• Work closely with our media buying agency to approve, buy and optimise media. Manage and monitor budgets, analyse daily results and metrics to drive change as needed to ensure marketing performance against KPIs.
• Collaborate cross-squad and with partner media agency to align DRTV and online video with the broader multi-channel paid media plan and integration with our Brand campaign where appropriate.
• Plan and collaborate with in-house and/or external creative and production agencies on the development of new DRTV creative, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
• Develop and execute creative testing strategies to inspire audience engagement and action.
• Regularly analyse and report on performance across DRTV and online video channels and audiences, providing expertise to optimise results and deliver growth.
• Support and assist with training and supervision of Marketing Executives within the team. Manage, develop and motivate members to retain, and develop capacity, creative capability and talent to provide for succession and ensure delivery of business objectives.
• Partner with Analyst squad members to assess marketing effectiveness, using data-driven insights to foster a test-and-learn approach and ensure learnings are effectively shared across the team, and recommendations implemented.
• Work with Senior Marketing Managers to manage budgets, including planning, reporting, and reforecasting.
• Partner with CRO Specialist and others, to create a seamless supporter experience by ensuring consistency across all touchpoints, driving engagement, conversion and lifetime value.
• Keeping abreast of changes within the direct response TV and online video marketplace, and ensure learnings feed into quarterly planning.
• Collaborate with Save the Children International and other member countries, sharing best practices and insights on the trends of the various activities under its responsibility and helping drive the global production of new content for TV and online video.
To be successful, it is important that you have:
• Demonstrable experience in managing and delivering marketing campaigns across direct response TV or other online video channels.
• Experience in direct response marketing including developing marketing campaigns, data analysis and audience planning.
• Project management experience with a proven ability to plan and manage activity that delivers complex projects on time and to budget.
• Experience of effectively managing external partners to drive performance and continual improvement, such as working with media agencies to plan, buy and optimise media, creative and production agencies.
• Experience of developing fundraising and/or marketing assets to drive action.
• Experience of effective management of campaign budgets, implementing most effective investment decisions in real time.
• Strong numerical and critical thinking skills, specifically the ability to analyse complex data and translate it into tangible information for strategic decision-making.
• Demonstrable expertise in managing budgets efficiently.
• An understanding of attribution and the different models that can be used.
• Strong understanding of the fundraising DRTV media landscape.

• Leading a team of Skills Coaches to guide the development and delivery of high impact teacher training experiences, focusing on practical and solutions focussed strategies underpinned by international best practice that improve teaching, learning, and assessment.
• Overseeing the planning and scheduling of training activities to align with the academic calendar, ensuring that sessions are well-timed and accessible to educators throughout the year. The role of the Direct Marketing Executive is a varied one. Working with different teams & suppliers, you will be supporting and delivering direct marketing campaigns online, offline and across a range of media channels. You will either be able to work in a hybrid way working between home and 2 days per week at our London office or remotely working from home with a requirement to attend our London office for a team anchor day once a month

About You:
Having worked in a third sector direct marketing role previously, you will have experience running effective national and regional campaigns using a variety of fundraising channels including digital, email, social media, direct mail, and telemarketing. With your good organisational and time management skills you’ll be able to meet deadlines and manage conflicting priorities under pressure.
You will have knowledge of usability testing, user research methods and conversion rate optimisation as well as an understanding of fundraising regulator guidance, gambling commission compliance and GDPR.
About The Role
- Manage the delivery of all Retention campaigns from concept through to evaluation, using data and insight to drive creative and production, drawing up schedules, and managing the approval processes
- Work collaboratively with data teams to ensure effective use of supporter profiling for delivery across a range of Retention campaigns
- Manage relationships with external agencies including media houses, designers and printers; to negotiate costs and relevant performance reviews
- Responsibility for collation of all KPI tracking, trend analysis and activity results that feed into the team’s reporting and performance structure
- Work alongside the Content team to research and develop retention. To gather information, case studies and photos for use in all direct marketing campaigns. Where appropriate, to liaise with external agencies such as designers and copywriters

About the role
Reporting to Head of Programmes
Term Full-time (37.5 hours per week), 2-year fixed term contract (with potential for renewal, subject to funding)
Location Homebased in the UK, with ability to travel to team workshops/ meetings in the South/ Southwest on an approximately quarterly basis; and to travel internationally approximately 1-2 weeks per quarter

Role Overview
You will manage projects/ programmes delivered through a range of modalities (in person, online, blended) across countries and regions, and in collaboration with partners and other service providers. You will also lead on and/ or contribute to cross-cutting initiatives which develop our organisational capacity as we grow. Reporting to the Head of Programmes, you will work closely with other project managers as well as colleagues in business development, communications, and facilitation design and delivery. You will find colleagues keen to work with you in the context and spirit of our values. Some international travel (up to 1-2 weeks per quarter) is generally envisaged for project managers, subject to business needs.
