This peer support project is delivered in partnership with South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust to support Carers of people with mental health conditions.  This project will work to support Carers through one-to-one support, outreach, training and peer support groups.

About The Role: 

Using your lived experience of caring for someone with a mental health condition, and a strengths-based approach, you will support mental health Carers in their caring role.  You will provide person centred one-to-one- support, information, signposting, and advocacy, develop, and facilitate peer support groups and deliver training and outreach sessions at different locations across the borough. 

Key Requirements Include: 

• Lived experience of Caring for someone with a mental health condition 

• Knowledge and understanding of mental health and the associated challenges and support needs. 

• The ability to work within the principles and values of peer support. 

• Confidence supporting people on a one-to-one basis. 

• Experience of / ability to facilitate peer support groups and training.

What we are looking for

We are seeking our first Communications Manager who will develop and deliver a Communications Strategy that helps us to: engage more effectively with existing stakeholders (workshop participants, volunteers, artists, funders, donors), increase our profile and reach new audiences. This role offers scope to grow, helping us to think big, bringing in new ideas, transforming our presence, and so helping us to realise our ambitions.  

Main purpose of job

To develop and deliver an effective communication strategy across all channels

• Part time: 21 hours per week, working flexibly
• Salary: £35-38k pa dependent on experience (pro-rata’d)
• Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer
• Location: Hybrid.  Mainly home-based with one day in London per week. Very occasional evenings or weekend days in London for events and activities.

Example projects

· Reviewing our existing digital presence, and optimising current channels and opportunities, for example by improvements to and regular updates of website, segmenting socials audiences and creating appropriate content for each

· Creating impactful short videos of participants, volunteers, partners and donors, and gaining maximum value from them

· Examining existing database and contacts, segmenting audiences, and working with other teams to develop specific communications to increase engagement

Key responsibilities

· Developing and implementing a Communications Strategy that enables impactful communications with key audiences, transforming our reach

· Responsible for ensuring impactful implementation and engaging use of our relatively new brand (launched Jan 2024), clarifying our organisational voice and key messages, and supporting the team to embed them across their work

· Proactive strategic management, development and measurement of all social media channels (currently X, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube, to varying degrees)

· Responsible for appropriate use and development of our website, including keeping it up to date with our projects and case studies, and maximising engagement and SEO

· Supporting the fundraising team to fully realise new and existing income streams

· Supporting the operations team to deliver effective communications to participants, volunteers and partners

· Working with the team to identify and create assets and resources for use across the organisation, for example using participant stories, evaluation data

· Initiating public outreach and profile raising work, including identifying and engaging with relevant publications and events, soliciting and responding to media engagement, and cultivating high-profile ambassadors

Tender is an arts charity working with children and young people to prevent domestic abuse and sexual violence through creative projects. Our programmes are safe, enjoyable, age-appropriate spaces where young people can engage with sensitive topics and “rehearse” for real-life scenarios. Participants are encouraged to be both consumers and producers of learning through script-work, role-play and creative media such as films and art. Throughout, we enable young people to explore their choices, rights and expectations in relationships and to recognise the early warning signs of abuse. 

We have grown rapidly in recent years, and now have an exciting and varied programme of work which is funded from a wide range of sources. We have long-standing, high-value relationships with organisations such as the Mayor’s Office, Esmée Fairbairn and Clifford Chance, and continue to grow our income from a range of supporters from trusts, foundations, corporates, individuals and community fundraisers.

We now have a need for two Development Officers to work closely with the Development Director and Development Manager in developing our trusts and foundations and statutory income streams, managing the accounts of existing supporters and generating income through securing new funding relationships. This role will involve a diverse range of work, from identifying prospects, creating compelling funding proposals, through to successfully managing relationships with funders.

One of the new Development Officers will have line management responsibility for a Development Coordinator, while the other Development Officer will not have any line management responsibilities. If you have a preference for one or other role, please note that in your application.

Success in this role would mean that, after six months you can:

• Confidently write and speak about Tender’s work, and how we prevent violence against women and girls, to a range of different funders.

• Write clear, compelling funding applications for five-figure sums to a range of funders.

• Support and work flexibly with other members of the Development team so that we can collaboratively reach our fundraising goals.

What the job involves 

We’re looking for a Gift Aid, Compliance and Fulfilment Manager to join our busy team on a fixed term contract. With your focus on the day-to-day management of our key supplier relationships, you’ll oversee multiple work streams and competing priorities across complex operations.

With support, you’ll also provide advice to all internal teams on Fundraising Compliance. You’ll understand when and how to dig deeper into risks and escalate as appropriate, acting as a key representative in this area across the charity.

You’ll oversee monthly gift aid claims, ensuring all processes from collection, storage and auditing are compliant and documented. This role is a great opportunity to work across multiple directorates. Your work will have a direct impact on our success and help us make a real difference.

In this role you’ll also line manage three people, working with them to excel in their role. They will support you in managing our key supplier relationships, managing our fundraising stock and having responsibility for the day-to-day management and development of our online shop. • Maintain Green Alliance’s reputation as a respected thought leader on climate and nature issues by leading and supporting the development and delivery of high quality strategies to secure impact in the environmental / health policy intersection. This may include research and policy development, political advocacy strategies and communications work.
• Advise colleagues on the narratives, framings and relationships that we should build in order to further our goals and use skills and experience to help build these. Use your networks to help us land our work with impact involving the right partners.
• Work with theme leads and the senior management team to design research plans that will ensure we are considering the distributional and other impacts our policy recommendations would have for different parts of society.

Your aim will be to support the Museum Director with raising around £500,000 per year from charitable sources.

Person Specification:

• An outstanding fundraiser, with a track record of securing four and five figure donation.
• A fundraising professional, experienced in working within at least one of the main areas of fundraising: membership, individual donors, grant-makers or corporates.

Role Description:

Research and Prospecting - Working alongside the Director, Development Committee and the Board, you will identify and research prospective people, companies and grant-makers that could support Queer Britain.

Pipeline Management - Using our CRM system, you will maintain our pipeline, ensuring records are up to date and accurate.

Cultivation - Using the full resources of Queer Britain, you will create cultivation plans that may include informal meetings, tours of the museum, meetings with key Museum staff, workshop visits and private dinners

​Making the ask - You will be fearless in asking people to support the Museum, and will support the Museum Director with pitching to companies and writing grant applications.

Stewarding and Reporting - You will ensure that all Queer Britain supporters understand the impact of their donation with a stewardship programme that entertains, engages, and encourages renewal. 

The Community Engagement Department enables our student community leaders to gain the knowledge, skills and connections for themselves and their student communities to thrive.  

Working with staff across the Community Engagement Department, the Training Coordinator works closely with the Training Manager to support staff to design and deliver high quality, impactful training for our 3000 student community leaders across 400+ student groups, 1000 student representatives, and our 6 full-time elected Student Officers, among other student communities. 

The Training Coordinator will support specialist staff across KCLSU to design and deliver a range of training spanning the breadth of community leadership, including but not limited to: student group management, event management, facilitation skills, volunteer management, project management, assessing impact, health & safety and safeguarding, effective representation, influencing & campaigning, community organising, protecting student rights, inclusion & accessibility, among others. 

This role forms a crucial element of the KCLSU and KCL Leadership Learning Initiative, a joint project designed to foster leadership skills among students, particularly those from under-represented backgrounds.

Student-facing Training 

- Lead the operational planning and delivery of our student-facing training programmes, including training our student group leaders, our elected sabbatical officers and our academic representatives, among others

We now seek a Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning and Research Manager to deliver a step change in organisational capacity in the MELR space, develop our approaches to data collection, and coordinate planning and reporting processes. International Development at Mothers’ Union (MU)

Our central team supports and attracts funding for a portfolio of international and UK based programmes which align with our 3 strategic priorities identified by members:  ending violence, poverty and injustice. Key programmatic areas in which we work include livelihoods, literacy,  Gender Based Violence and parenting. Working with our members we have developed participatory approaches in core areas such as literacy and savings and credit groups which are inclusive of bible studies and stories to help people to discover their own capabilities and to inspire them to take action.

Over the last year, we have been working towards developing processes to ensure that we have a consistent baseline of core information about partners and programmes as well as continuing to gather stories and information about projects and work that our members are leading on which we are not directly involved in.

Work Location/Hybrid Working Pattern

This role will be based at our Head Office in central London. Mothers’ Union operates a hybrid working model. Staff are required to work an aggregate minimum of 90 days per calendar year (pro rata for part timers) at our Head Office, Mary Sumner House in central London. Tuesdays are our anchor days where every staff member is expected to be at the office. The 90 days includes anchor Tuesdays. In addition, Thursday is a core working day where part time staff are expected to work, either at home or from the office as needed.

About this role

The Communications and Marketing Coordinator will ensure that communications and marketing priorities are implemented across the organisation to build brand awareness and reputation, increase reach and engagement across key stakeholder groups (funders, learners, coordination bodies, strategic partners), support fundraising activities, as well as contribute to RedR’s positioning within relevant sectors.The post holder will have exceptional communication and organisational skills with a keen eye for detail and an interest in learning and development within RedR’s thematic areas.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Development and implementation of yearly comms and marketing plan with support from Associate Director of Business Development and Programmes
• Produce regular website, social media and communications content as well as newsletters to maintain engagement and improve our reach across our members, supporters, funders and other target audiences
• Website maintenance and improvements in coordination with relevant staff, centralising efforts to ensure the functionality of the website and key integrations with third party platforms
• Support programme staff with creation of new resources and materials for our projects Support fundraising efforts including public appeals through content development, design and project management with external suppliers

Social Media and website

• Maintain and build RedR UK’s social media presence, ensuring social media channels are populated with engaging content with a consistent, strong voice reflecting RedR’s strategy to maximise potential for exposure among target audiences
• Manage a calendar of social media and website activity
• Work with the Associate Director of Programmes and Business Development to create and develop campaigns (including fundraising and awareness raising campaigns) to be run across social media platforms
• Monitor and report on engagement, number of followers and website referrals to inform best practice for post timing and content
• Act as the primary point of contact for queries received through social media and inbound emails, ensuring they are responded to appropriately and in a timely manner
• Responsible for the day-to-day management and maintenance of RedR UK’s website, including making edits and creating new content
• Ensure the website content is proofread and accurate, and any broken links or errors are promptly corrected
• Website (wordpress) maintenance and improvements in coordination with relevant staff (and external developer where relevant), centralising efforts to ensure the functionality of the website and key integrations with third party platforms
• Work with external website developer to resolve issues with the website and further develop design of website to accommodate emerging needs.

Marketing

• Stay abreast of comms and marketing trends and propose new and innovative approaches to increase outreach, engagement and fundraising income
• Produce in-house marketing materials and templates including event brochures, proposal templates, illustrations for reports/proposals, graphics and videos using platforms such as Canva or Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, PowerPoint and other editing tools
• Produce and disseminate high quality regular newsletters, and support with production of speeches and letters
• Identify inspiring impact stories and produce written and occasional films case studies and other content for use by the Fundraising and Programmes teams, supporting
• Support programme teams wishing to undertake communications activities as part of a grant/funded project; ensure that institutional donors’ communications activities and visibility requirements are respected
• Lead on emergency communications, in close coordination with the Associate Director of Programmes and Business Development
• Champion and monitor the use of RedR brand and style guidelines; to develop messaging guidelines and ensure they are adhered to across the organisation and to support other departments to develop their messaging and material.

Additional

• Lead and coordinate the drafting of RedR’s Annual Report, liaising with staff across the organisation for input
• Contribute to the development of the fundraising and engagement strategy
• Occasionally support colleagues from the BD & Fundraising and Programmes teams to produce project reports for institutional donors and/or trusts and foundations

• Experience working in the charity sector
• Demonstrable experience covering a broad range of communication methods, such as:
  1. Interviewing/sourcing/writing/editing case studies, impact stories, social media posts, newsletters, blogs, and speeches
  2. Building a case for support
  3. Using a Content Management System (CMS)
• Strong digital skills and an awareness of the importance of digital information in the sector.
• Knowledge of a broad range of communications activities (e.g. websites, marketing, social media, publications)
• Experience maintaining websites and social media, including producing effective content

As Public Engagement Officer, you’ll play an important role making this vision a reality by engaging with churches through regional & national speaking engagements, networks, events, and new fundraising products with a view to help them raise funds for All We Can/Y Care to contribute to the overall fundraising target of the Acquisition Team. This role is 12-month fixed contract with potential to extend at the end of that period depending on the performance of the role and organisational circumstances at the time.

In this role you will:

• Seek and fulfil a variety of engagements in the London and the South East which engender loyalty and acquire short- and long-term income contributing to the fundraising target of £405k per year.
• Maximise income from Churches and Events
• Participate in All We Can’s presence at several conferences and events each year, inspiring current and new supporters through stalls, workshops, and stage time. 
• Build and develop new strategic relationships with ministers, lay workers, and key volunteers in Methodist Churches across the country, encouraging them into deeper income-generating engagement with All We Can.
• Collaborate with others in the Public Engagement Team to develop new resources and fundraising products to engage supporters and generate income

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Have experience of community fundraising involving relationship-building, planning, and generating a response to a call to action with experience of community fundraising in a Christian context being desirable. 
• Be a passionate and convincing public speaker, with experience of speaking/presenting in a Christian context; being a qualified preacher and/or worship leader in a church tradition would be an advantage but is not a requirement. 
• Have experience of generating and following up on new opportunities. Experience of project management in a professional context will be an advantage but is not a requirement.
• Have excellent oral and written communication skills and proven ability to communicate both stories and data.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including an ability and willingness to communicate to diverse audiences. To be comfortable communicating to Christian groups and individuals.
