We are seeking an experienced Development and Income Generation Manager. This crucial role is to develop and sustain programs supporting East and Southeast Asian women in the UK.
 

About Us

We are a new and inclusive organisation empowering East and Southeast Asian women and their families. ESEA women share a common culture and experience similar issues, eg. immigration, racism, trafficking, and other forms of gender-based violence and exploitation in the UK. We campaign to completely eradicate financial hardship and end violence among women and our dependents within the ESEA UK community. We provide a safe space, advocacy, health, housing, education, co-learning and other holistic support and services.

We are a non-hierarchical organisation with our trustees as key facilitators, working with our staff and volunteers to implement and deliver our projects. We are seeking exemption under the provision of the Equalities Act 2010 Schedule 9 Part 1 under the occupational requirements as this post requires the postholder to be female or identifying herself as female.

Main responsibilities:

• Create a successful income generation strategy across different sources including corporate, grant makers, trust and foundation, social media fundraisers, legacy and new streams of funding.

• Write and submit successful and compelling grant / funding proposals, ensuring alignment with funder requirements and organisational goals

• Build solid relationships with corporate sponsors, funders and grant makers to enable us to identify the best income generation streams  for our organisational requirements

• Engagement in the ESEA community with an in depth understanding of nuanced community issues that will ensure robust applications

• Research and identify additional potential funding opportunities, including grants, sponsorships, and partnerships from agencies, foundations, and corporations.

• Work closely with our team to gather data and information to support applications

• Maintain and track an organised record of funding opportunities, application deadlines, and submitted proposals. Provide timely updates to the team

• Help report to funders on the benefits of their funded projects.

• Employ and train staff/ volunteers with funding applications and other aspects of funding, eg social media requests

• Share management and supervision work of staff for the different projects in the organisation.

• Participate in the organisation wide collective and collaborative approach to move the direction of the charity forward across different work of the organisation. 

Knowledge and Experience:

• Excellent grant writing and communication skills

• Proven track record of at least 5 years in successful funding applications

• Successful track record in fundraising from corporate sectors

• Good understanding and experience of rights based campaigning on migrants and human rights issues through a woman’s lens

• Good knowledge of women’s issues including violence and oppression.

• Good knowledge of how migrant community groups organise and work together

• Experience in building networks and alliances and in collaborative work

• Flexible and proactive, can work independently

• Commit to SEEAWA’s values in promoting and protecting the rights of migrant workers, women who were trafficked and experienced gender violence

• Have one year experience managing staff and volunteers

• From or experience in Southeast and East Asian cultures

Summary
An exciting opportunity to use your excellent administrative skills to make a real difference, working with passionate inspiring people in the UK and internationally to bring about a more inclusive world. This role would enable you to get involved in designing and presenting new projects from livelihoods to mental health, from Nigeria to Nepal. No need for experience in international development, or even the charity sector; the main thing is to have experience in office / project administration, excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, and to be willing to learn and contribute.
Purpose
To provide administrative support to the CBM UK Programme Development Department, especially to its Programme Funding team; enabling efficient management of stakeholder relationships and submission of quality proposals to institutional donors. This support will contribute to the funding and effective delivery of disability-inclusive development and humanitarian programmes in Low and Middle Income Countries (LMICs).
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Programme Funding, the majority of the Programme Officer’s time will be spent supporting the Programme Funding team, which is part of the Programme Development (PD) Department.
Programme Funding, Programme Finance and Programme Management work very closely together as the PD Department, covering the whole Project Cycle including design, contracting, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. As well as supporting Programme Funding (75-80% of the role), you will also support smooth running of other aspects of the PD Department (20-25%). To represent the latter, there is a ‘dotted line’ of reporting from the Programme Officer to both the Head of Programmes and the Director of Programme Impact. Full induction and internal training on all CBM UK-specific tasks, systems and processes will be provided.

Programme Funding Support (75-80%)
• Support scanning for suitable new funding opportunities, and create clear summaries of donor requirements.
• Keep the Programme Funding team, and each proposal development team1, highly organised, enabling efficient progress towards a submission deadline. This is likely to include:
o Real-time information management; clear filing, version control and communication
o Tracking progress against agreed actions; following up with reminders
o Using checklists to ensure all important steps are followed
o Facilitating adaptations to the proposal development plan
o Creating user-friendly templates and guidance
o Making arrangements for meetings
o Coordinating review processes.
• Provide practical administrative support to proposal development and stakeholder relationship-building, including:
o Online research about donor / geography / technical area / partners / competitors
o Formatting, proof-reading and/or editing to fit prescribed word / character limits
o Creation of tables, graphics, references from supplied data
o Checking compliance against donor requirements
o Arranging, recording and following up on meetings.
• Data management: Update and maintain Project Management System ‘Global Online’ with information relating to funding proposals, projects, donors and consortium partners (both current and prospective) – everything required prior to handover to Programme Management team for donor contract negotiations.
• Support efficiency and effectiveness of the Programme Funding Team through continual maintenance of and improvements to Programme Funding systems and processes, e.g. updating a proposal resource library.
• Manage provision of compliance information for due diligence processes and proposals as required by donors or consortium leads. Provide this service for other CBM UK teams as well as for the Programme Funding team, as required.
• Carry out other duties as required by the Head of Programme Funding, including support for internal reporting.
Programme Development (PD) Department support (20-25%)
• Make arrangements for events such as internal and external meetings (including recording actions / minutes, and providing for any accessibility requirements), training courses and team building, regular learning sessions, team travel (including bookings and expenses) and occasional international workshops (mostly online).

• Lead on knowledge management for Programme Development (PD) Department including updating PD Handbook and maintaining MS Teams site.
• Support the Director of Programme Impact and Head of Programmes with internal reporting processes; sourcing and collating information.
• Facilitate responses to enquiries about CBM programmes from the public or other teams, and facilitate communication with other CBM UK departments.
• Carry out other duties as required by the Director of Programme Impact, or Head of Programmes, including providing ‘surge support’ to Programme Managers. This could include:
o Practical support for adaptation to new or improved systems / processes
o Preparing materials for presentations or papers for meetings
o Collating information for annual budgeting or project portfolio allocations
o Scheduling and calendar management.
Other
• Work with other teams to maximise cross fertilisation opportunities and integrated working.
• Help develop a culture of enthusiasm and success, reflecting the ambitions of CBM UK.
• Play an active role across CBM UK, promoting positive working and innovation. Cross-team ‘Champions’ groups are one way to do this, e.g. current groups focus on Diversity, Equity & Inclusion; Wellbeing; Safeguarding; Innovation. The social committee is another option.
• Ensure that the values of CBM UK are understood by external partners and always reflected in communications.

Your role 

You will be responsible for the management, development and delivery of marketing and communications to support CWNN’s fundraising strategy. You’ll work alongside our Development Manager to create compelling fundraising campaigns, content and communications, growing engagement from individuals, companies, community fundraisers and potential funders while simultaneously raising our profile among stakeholders through strategic communications and marketing plans. This work includes:   

• Support our Development Manager to create and deliver impactful and innovative fundraising strategies including our public appeals, challenge events and local fundraising campaigns.

• Developing and implementing communications strategies to promote CWNN’s work, managing our social media platforms and external comms to ensure they reflect our strategic goals and values.

• Producing our e-newsletter, with support from the Development team, to ensure CWNN’s key work, impact, news and campaigns are effectively promoted to our supporter base.

• Create engaging digital content for our website and social media including written copy, video and graphics.

• Analysing campaign engagement KPIs to inform future strategies and approaches to best engage existing and new audiences.

• Create marketing materials for external use, eg. corporate pitch documents, fundraising packs, gig programmes, flyers and posters using Canva.

• Co-creating case studies, supporting members to share their stories, their way, amplifying their voices and demonstrating the impact of our choirs to stakeholders.

• Co-lead our co-produced ‘Digital Storytellers’ programme with our Community Participation Manager, supporting members to manage their own local social media accounts, sharing their stories and raising awareness of their choirs to new audiences.

• Maintain, organise and populate CWNN’s media library and YouTube channel.

• Write and distribute press releases to both regional and national press and media, fielding media enquiries and building our media contacts.

• Co-ordinate our internal communications programme, working with senior leadership team.

• Carry out any other tasks that arise that are within the scope and purpose of the post as requested by your line manager.

About you 

Essential:

• You’ll have a proven track record in delivering successful, innovative and impactful charity communications content and strategies.

• You’ll have a good understanding of how fundraising and engagement campaigns can convert individuals into donors and advocates.

• You’ll have a creative eye and strong writing skills, with experience of bringing compelling stories to life across various platforms and media, to connect with a diverse range of supporters, funders and stakeholders.

• You’ll be able to multitask effectively, be highly organised with strong attention to detail.

• You’ll be proactive, self-motivated and can identify and act on opportunities as they arise.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive, self-driven individual who can remain calm under pressure, is thoughtful in their approach, and has prior experience in line management.

The role will involve working across TV, Print, Digital, and Telephone channels, with a focus on data-driven strategies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of acquisition, retention, and supporter journeys.

Key responsibilities:

• Oversee, develop, plan, and execute the Legacy fundraising program through annual work plans, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, timely, and engaging multi-channel communications (including print, digital, and potentially events) that inspire and support both existing and new supporters

• Lead marketing campaigns, track performance using relevant dashboards (e.g., Insights Hub, Looker Studios, Power BI), and collaborate with external agencies to optimise and review results.

• Collaborate with the Assistant Head of Legacy and In Memory Fundraising to develop a strategy that maximises value, while managing several external agencies for all creative planning and execution
• Oversee, inspire, and support the Legacy Fundraising Officer and Legacy and In Memory Fundraising Executive, ensuring accountability for their objectives, workplans, and ongoing learning and development.

Person specification:

• Extensive expertise in Legacy Marketing, with a strong background in project managing multiple campaigns across various channels and a wealth of experience in executing operational plans.
• Proven successful strong experience of working with and managing external suppliers, such as creative and media agencies, with the ability to negotiate on behalf of the organisation and ensure that agreed performance metrics are being me
• Demonstrable strong financial skills with previous experience of successfully monitoring and reporting on project budgets and keeping accurate cost controls
• A passion for fundraising with a commercial understanding of the charity marketplace and competitor

• Support the Senior Development Manager - Acquisition in the on-going development of the supporter acquisition strategy.
• Project manage a range of direct marketing campaigns from creative, to data selection and analysis.
• Support with the development of the annual budget and manage campaign budgets with a total expenditure of £1.9M
• Manage and coach Woodgreen’s Acquisition Executive.
• Work with a range of external agencies and suppliers such as media and creative agencies. As well as our internal teams including creative and digital.

About the role

We’re looking to recruit a Philanthropy Project Manager to join our Philanthropy & Events team on a fixed term contract (17 months) and help shape a positive and sustainable future for our planet. In addition, you will take the lead on engaging with Professional Advisory such as Philanthropy and Wealth Advisors, promoting environmental philanthropy.

We’re looking for someone with:

· Demonstrable project management experience and knowledge

· High-level organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise competing priorities and ensure the timely delivery of projects

· An understanding of working directly with donors, fundraisers and specialists to bring transformational gifts to fruition

· Knowledge and experience using CRMs (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics 365)

· Knowledge and experience of using project management tools (e.g. Asana, Trello, MS Planner)

· Experience organising group trips for donors and prospects

· Strong communication, interpersonal & organisational skills.
