This role focusses on raising funds for Bowel Research UKs medical research projects and work that focuses on patient and public involvement. Funds raised will be a mix of restricted project funding and unrestricted funds that can support the organisations core operations.

You will need to work closely with colleagues in Research and Patient & Public Involvement to ensure you have a strong understanding of current funding needs and research successes. You will take the lead on seeking out new prospects and nurturing existing relationships to significantly grow income. You will achieve this by researching sources of funding, devising individually tailored applications, maintaining excellent communications with existing and potential donor trusts and foundations, delivering an agreed income target as well as growing funding from these sources.

The role will include researching relevant opportunities, identifying the most appropriate projects, writing and submitting applications and ensuring excellent donor management, development and reporting. Trusts and Foundations income is a cornerstone of Bowel Research UKs charitable income each year and is responsible for around a third of fundraised income. The organisation has assessed the trusts' function recently, the outcome of which shows that there is scope to significantly grow this area of activity. Full support will be given to the Trust Fundraising Manager to enable this growth to happen.

You will be a motivated self-starter able to write, budget and communicate effectively. You will develop relationships with ease and feel able to positively influence colleagues at all levels of an organisation. The position requires someone with a positive attitude who is determined and resilient.

 Job purpose:

We are looking for an organised, enthusiastic, and experienced Digital Marketing Executive with a passion for social media and marketing to join the Spread a Smile team.

Reporting to the Head of Marketing, you will help to deliver our marketing strategies and day-to-day output across our digital platforms including social media, website and e-comms and our Smile TV online viewing channel for families.

You will play a key role driving social media growth with responsibility for developing and posting creative content and managing interactions across our social media platforms, ensuring that we remain consistent in terms of brand and tone. You will have an excellent understanding of and passion for social media (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X and LinkedIn), uses, trends and development.

You will provide marketing support across the Fundraising and Services team, including producing marketing/fundraising materials and literature, appeals and events collateral (services and fundraising related), case stories, PR activity, and supporting management of our photo / film libraries and brand.

You will be brilliantly organised, and comfortable working across a wider team, juggling multiple projects at a time. You will be willing to go the extra mile to help us reach new audiences and achieve our strategic aims.

Key responsibilities and duties:

• Responsible for the day-to-day output of our social media content across Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok and LinkedIn (we use Hootsuite). Scheduling, writing and producing content (including reels), responding to comments and messages etc.

• Leading on the development of our TikTok channel, delivering engaging content and plans to grow this platform in particular. Also mirroring for Instagram too.

• Managing our Linktree platform (Instagram) and exploring other suitable platforms and reporting for socials.

• Supporting the Head of Marketing to develop social media strategies and growth plans, identifying new audiences, influencer targets, creative content, trends, and PR/marketing opportunities and exploring sponsorship and advertising.

• Using Canva to create social media content, charity materials and videos/reels.

• Responsible for the day-to-day upkeep and update of the Spread a Smile website, making amends and creating content as required.

• Supporting the Head of Marketing on wider website development and marketing strategies and support tools such as researching and using AI i.e. ChatGPT.Responsible for creating monthly supporter e-newsletter in Mailchimp, regular family e-newsletters (4 per annum) and other e-comms, (with Head of Marketing leading on content strategy), helping to ensure schedules for delivery are agreed and adhered to.

• Working with the Head of Marketing to maintain brand quality control, ensuring brand guidelines and support materials are up-to-date and accessible to the whole team.

• Researching and exploring marketing and promotional initiatives and avenues such as Google Ads, PPC, Instagram / Facebook promotions / sponsorship / ads etc.

• Managing Google Analytics and communications tracking, producing monthly reporting on marketing activity using agreed reporting template, including website activity, e-comms performance, social media performance and growth and audience analysis.

• Liaising with external designers as required on charity collateral and managing relationships with printers, obtaining relevant quotes and ensuring costing clarity.

• Supporting the Head of Marketing and wider fundraising team on fundraising appeals and events, helping to deliver relevant collateral, promotional strategies and communications and supporting fundraising relationship requirements as needed (i.e. website news stories etc).

• Working closely with the Head of Marketing and Services team to support marketing requirements for the Services and family events, including delivery and production of materials, visiting hospital partners to take good quality photos and film content etc.

• Attending our Family events as required to support with photos and marketing content.

• Helping to maintain our photo library and ensuring good management systems

General:

Following a 3-month probation period, you will transition to a fixed-term contract. Upon successful completion of this term, you will be offered a permanent employment contract. The salary base may change due to your previous experience related to the position, or your experience in animal advocacy (+3% for each year). In addition, the salary increases with your seniority in Open Cages according to the following model:

About your role

We are a small and ambitious early-stage organisation with two full-time team members. Our current objective: to help the 1 billion chickens raised annually in the UK. By joining us as a campaigner you will be both strategising and spending time on the frontlines, by talking to the biggest companies, producing investigative reports and giving media interviews. Your first task will be to help us convince the UK’s largest food businesses to improve their chicken welfare policies through public and behind-the-scenes advocacy. While this may sound challenging, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make a historic change for those who cannot stand up for themselves. • Conduct research – you will spend many hours online gathering information, working with investigators and lawyers, or delivering 50 chicken products to a lab in Germany (we did this too).
• Create engaging content – you will produce emotive graphics and videos for social media, factual reports and data-driven briefings for journalists and politicians.
• Work with the media – you will engage with journalists, write press releases, and give the odd interview.
• Mobilise advocates – you will write emails to our supporters and motivate them to take action with us. You will also organise and run street actions like protests and stunts.

About The Role

Alongside our Marketing Officer, you’ll be responsible for successfully promoting our challenges to individuals, charities and corporates, with the primary aim of ensuring that monthly registration targets are met, but also with the aim of marketing Global Adventure Challenges’ services as a whole.

You will plan and deliver our digital marketing strategy, which involves, but is not limited to:

• Developing and implementing digital marketing strategies to individuals, charities and corporates, including but not limited to organic and paid social media, email marketing, search engine optimisation (SEO) and paid search and display advertising while adhering to deadlines
• Designing and monitoring all paid advertising, including but not limited to Meta and Google Ads
• Supporting our charity partners in their promotion of our events, including the production of marketing kits for new offers and events
• Working with our Charity Accounts Officer to create PowerPoint presentations for information evenings for our charity partners
• Managing the company website and ensuring that content is up to date, including challenge dates and itinerary details
• Writing creative copy including blog content for the website, ensuring content is optimised for search engine results
• Creating and scheduling regular marketing emails to our subscribers and charity and corporate partners using Dotdigital
• Designing and delivering all digital creative media including online challenge brochures, in addition to managing and maintaining the brochure website using WordPress. This requires a basic understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript to maintain functionality
• Creating a range of content using Adobe Creative Suite, including but not limited to content for the GAC website and social media channels in addition to providing design support to other areas of the business

Administrative tasks

• Reporting on KPIs from various marketing campaigns including but not limited to Google Ads, Meta Ads, email sends, search engine optimisation (SEO) and other marketing streams
• Providing regular reports and analysis on website usage and trends using GA4
• Accurately reporting the expenditure of marketing campaigns
• Producing PowerPoint Presentations for information events for charities, participants and corporates
• Recording accurate stock levels of all merchandise including but not limited to cycling jerseys, trekking t-shirts and place orders with our supplier as required
• Contributing towards the design and sales of merchandise via the company’s merchandise website
• Line-managing the Marketing Officer, providing guidance and supporting them in their management of our social media channels

 Other tasks

Prostate Cancer Research exists to honour the men and families who have been through things no family should have to go through, and to work for a future where no one needs to fear a prostate cancer diagnosis. 

We are always working to provide resources to help, support and empower patients. Giving them the information they need to make better choices about their treatment, while working to identify and target specific unmet needs in the prostate cancer ecosystem, such as racial inequality and bone metastasis.

The Events & Community Manager role is a new position, created to give the attention and expertise needed to our large and profitable portfolio of virtual challenge events, which have collectively raised over £1m gross income per year for two years. It is a crucial role within the team, overseeing the innovation, planning and delivery of all virtual challenges. You will work with colleagues accross the organisation to seize opportunities, whilst ensuring best practice in our fundraising activity and infastructure, delivering brilliant stewardship during supporters participation in the virtual events and beyond. 

The position reports to the Head of Events & Community, and will line manage one Events & Community Executive. Collaboration will be important, especially with the senior Events team managers who lead the innovation, planning and delivery of third party and PCR owned bespoke events. 

Key Responsibilities

Strategy, Project Management and Income Growth

• Lead the strategy to maximise the value of PCR's virtual challenge events portfolio, working with the Head of E&C and others to take a long-term view, building on existing foundations to grow and maintain a sustainable income stream
• Oversee the project management of PCR's Facebook Challenges in the UK, leading end-to-end planning and delivery with the support of the E&C executives to hit ambition fundraising targets
• Design and deliver ambitious fundraising budgets for your projects which contribute net income towards PCR's lifesaving mission
• Create and maintain good relationships with suppliers, venues, agencies and consultants to ensure great value
• Oversee the stewardship of fundraisers taking part in virtual challenge events, gaining a solid understanding of the audience, ensuring supporter journeys are relevent and engaging and using feedback to continually develop positive experiences for supporters
• Work with other events team managers to contibute to the planning and delivery of other activity areas, including third-party challenges

Product Development and Innovation

• Continue to grow and improve PCR's Facebook Challenge portfolio, staying up to date with sector trends and opportunities for new journeys, suppliers, propositions and tools, taking a test and learn approach and always ensuring that learnings are captured. For this, there will be realistic budgets and an understanding of the investment needed for new ideas
• Develop approaches to engage supporters beyone their initial participations, working with Public Fundrasing colleagues and others to test cross-selling journeys and maximise the lifetime value of virtual event fundraisers
• Work with other team members to improve other areas of social and virtual fundraising (e.g. non-challenge fundraising on Meta), ensuring all supporters are stewarded and income generaltion opportunities are seized upon
• Maintain a strong level of understanding of PCR's existing (and target) supporters in order to create and implement products & stewardship that motivate and inspire.
• Alongside the Head of E&C and other Events team managers, embed a culture of innovation and supporter insight
• Proactively collaborate internally, working with other teams to identify opportunities which meet PCR's objectives
• Be proactive in your personal development & look for opportunities to learn - with support from your manager

Team leadership

• Line manage one Events & Community Executive, overseeing their work, guiding them to improve & innovate in their role, and supporting their professional development
• Work with the other Events team managers to support (and where appropriate take a lead on) the development of processes and infrastructure in order to improve efficiency, compliance and best practice across the team
• Work closely with the Head of E&C and the other Events team managers on team strategy and capacity planning
• Work with the team to embed our agile ways of working, modelling the principle that we all take collective responsibility for the team's shared goals
• Attend and contribute to meetings, sharing new ideas and learnings that might be useful for the wider team
• Work with the Head of E&C and other Events team managers to embed and model PCR's organisational values: innovation, collaboration, accountability and championing the patient voice

As with everyone in the the Public Fundraising department, you may also get involved with other projects and tasks as appropriate to support all our activities. 

Attendance may be required at some weekend and evening events, for which TOIL will be given. 

Skills and Competencies

Some of the key attributes of the Events & Community Manager will be:

• Confident event and project management skills, including end-to-end planning, budgeting & results tracking
• An understanding and (ideally) experience of large-scale virtual challenge events or similar peer-to-peer fundraising activity

The Media, PR & Digital Manager leads and supports the delivery of flexible, cost-effective and class-leading media, marketing, and digital communications. Following a 3-month probation period, you will transition to a fixed-term contract. Upon successful completion of this term, you will be offered a permanent employment contract. A minimum salary of £39,695.24 gross (our salary base for people resident in the UK) will apply from the beginning of the probationary period. The salary base may change due to your previous experience related to the position, or your experience in animal advocacy (+3% for each year). In addition, the salary increases with your seniority in Open Cages according to the following model:

About your role

We are a small and ambitious early-stage organisation with two full-time team members. Our current objective: to help the 1 billion chickens raised annually in the UK. By joining us as a campaigner who focuses on communications, you will work on the frontlines by shining a light on the hidden suffering of animals trapped on factory farms, and mobilising the public to take action. Your first task will be to help us convince the UK’s largest food businesses to improve their chicken welfare policies, primarily through crafting media stories and marketing campaigns that capture the hearts and minds of the public.

While this may sound challenging, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make a historic change for those who cannot stand up for themselves. Someone has to pick up the fight, and we hope it will be You.

• Create marketing content – you will produce graphics and videos for social media, and utilise marketing tools to reach millions of people.
• Work with the media – you will engage with journalists, write press releases, pitch stories and be animals’ voice on the radio and TV.
• Mobilise advocates – you will write emails to our supporters and motivate them to take action with us. You will also organise and run street actions like protests and stunts.
• Connect with diverse audiences – you will need to talk about the suffering of animals to very different groups of people that compose our society. To do that effectively, you will need to understand their perspective and be a good, empathetic communicator.
• Ask for support – you will help us fundraise to increase our impact.

As Individual Giving Officer you will also monitor performance of fundraising projects and make tactical and strategic recommendations to enhance results. Key Skills and Attributes: 

This role requires a confident fundraiser and project manager with a solid grasp of fundraising from individuals, either donor recruitment or retention, or in direct marketing within the charity or commercial sector.

Experience of developing and managing multi-channel fundraising projects is essential using a range of media channels. These include telemarketing, print (supporter magazine, cash appeals, retention mailings, inserts and cold mailings), paid social media, Display, YouTube, PPC  and email.

Magpas Air Ambulance are looking for a driven and organised Challenges and Events Officer to join our Corporate, Community and Events Team. This is a key income-generating role, responsible for the planning, promotion, and delivery of a portfolio of challenge and fundraising events – including third-party, virtual and flagship events.

The postholder will work closely with colleagues and external partners to deliver exceptional supporter experiences that inspire participation, encourage fundraising, and maximise income for the charity.

You’ll need solid project management skills, strong supporter stewardship instincts, and a good understanding of how digital channels can be used to recruit, engage, and motivate fundraisers.

While you’ll be supported by our Digital Fundraising Officer, you’ll be responsible for developing and delivering a comprehensive marketing and recruitment plan – combining digital campaigns with in-person promotion and outreach at events and through partner networks.

This role would suit someone with some experience working on charity challenge events who is ready to take the next step in their career – bringing their knowledge, creativity and energy to a role where they can work with autonomy, ownership and impact.

• Lead the planning, promotion and delivery of a portfolio of fundraising challenge events, including third-party, virtual and flagship activities

What the job involves

As part of the Strategic Communications, Campaigns and Brand team, you’ll support the Head of Strategic Communications, Campaigns and Branding by directing the Business Partnering team, and developing and embedding our Business Partnering model.

You’ll partner with senior leaders and product owners to act as a supportive enabler of their communications objectives, and ensuring they’re actively engaged in the development of communications strategies, objectives and plans. A major part of the role will be enabling the integration of activity into the wider communications plan to enhance results from our communications.

You’ll guide the planning process for projects and campaigns to build awareness of risk, tackle health inequalities and improve outcomes for all men affected by and at risk of prostate cancer. As part of this role, you’ll also be managing a team of two.

In this role you’ll be leading a new team of Business Partners and a Communications Planning Manager to ensure Prostate Cancer UK’s communications are well-planned, integrated (where appropriate), and effective. You’ll also excel at building trust and connections with community groups, ideally with experience in reaching, engaging, and activating high-risk communities.

We’re seeking an Individual Giving Manager to join our Fundraising team. In this role you will lead on regular giving, appeals, major donors, legacies and the development of our lottery product.

Together with our Marketing and Communications team you’ll develop and implement a portfolio of inspiring campaigns and appeals that connect with our existing supporters, as well driving the acquisition of new supporters particularly through regular giving. You’ll also collaborate with colleagues to shape, refine, and execute our fundraising strategy.  

You will have a good understanding and knowledge of growing individual income streams, combined with a natural ability to collaborate across teams and enjoy creating new and exciting fundraising appeals and campaigns. Most importantly you must have a passion for fundraising and the ambition to grow income and increase donor recruitment and retention.
