World Cancer Research Fund champions the latest and most authoritative scientific research from around the world on cancer prevention and survival through diet, weight and physical activity, so that we can empower people to make informed lifestyle choices to reduce their cancer risk.

We are seeking a dynamic, experienced Director who will be responsible for the work of the charity within the UK. The Director will be the strategic and day to day leader of the UK organisation and will also work hands-on not only with his/her direct reports but also all teams in the office. We are seeking a leader who can take the UK charity’s fundraising to new heights; thus, this is a particularly important focus area.

The role will be directly overseeing the World Cancer Research Fund UK’s Fundraising and Health Information Departments. You will report to the CEO and work in partnership with the UK CEO and other senior executives in updating and implementing the organisation’s strategy and objectives. 

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience of directing and leading a similar sized UK philanthropic organisation (or a fundraising team within a larger charity), including writing and implementing strategies and evaluating outcomes. You will have proven experience of delivering fundraising objectives as well as a strong track record in communications and up to date knowledge of social media and digital strategies. Substantial experience of management of teams at both strategic and tactical level including developing skills, abilities, performance management and confidence in staff is required as are high level speaking skills.

This role is critical in enhancing both the quality and quantity of our intelligence output, while continuing to innovate our products to maximize impact.

As an Intelligence Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic gathering, analysis, and dissemination of intelligence as part of our ‘Exploitation Analytics’ service. We work with a number of global organisations including financial service institutions, global technology platforms, telecoms, and the food & beverage industry who rely on our reporting to safeguard their operations against exploitation and identify bad actors. Additionally, this role will support our Prevention Team to develop high quality campaigns that reach vulnerable people on the ground. Responsibilities:

About the role

Working within our small, dynamic staff team, this role will primarily provide support to the Executive Director in the following areas: communicating the work of the foundation to key stakeholders; lead on and maintaining relationships with trade union groups; driving forward our community grants programme, demonstrating the policy, research and campaign impact of the foundation; general strategic and managerial deputisation.

The role would suit a communications or programmes specialist who is comfortable working flexibly across a number of briefs as befits a small and adaptable organisation. A successful candidate will need to demonstrate an affinity with, and understanding of, the work of the foundation, a flair for messaging, both in print, digitally, and in terms of design, and an administrative and motivational rigour capable of driving forward multiple grant-making programmes with complex timelines.

About the role

As the new Community and Events Fundraising Manager, you will oversee the stewardship of some of their most passionate supporters, working closely with dedicated volunteers, community groups, and overseeing key charity events. Your focus will be on harnessing the enthusiasm and commitment of fundraisers in the community, motivating and guiding them to maximize their contributions.

You will also actively support the planning and execution of our bespoke Walk to End Homelessness event, alongside leading on our annual Spring Concert and contributing to the growth of our third-party event series.

Responsibilities:

Community and Events Fundraising:

• Help deliver the teams' existing events and community fundraising products, growing net income and actively seeking new opportunities for expansion.
• Develop a range of new fundraising products and assets to support all aspects of the community fundraising programme in line with our values and key messages.
• Act as an ambassador for The Passage with community groups, personally delivering talks and presentations to build relationships and promote our work.
• Manage and oversee a programme of station and street collections, ensuring that volunteers are trained and equipped to represent The Passage with the public
• Manage current community and events fundraising relationships with individual supporters and groups by providing outstanding, tailored stewardship to generate income.
• Help deliver and develop a range of The Passage owned and third-party events and activities.
• Work with the digital marketing and comms team to produce engaging, accessible content and campaigns across web, social, email and paid digital activity to promote fundraising products and activity.
• Research and recommend new ways of raising funds and generating income through community fundraising.

Budgets and planning:

• Produce and manage the Community Fundraising income and expenditure annual plan and budget.
• Work with the Senior Events and Community Manager to regularly review performance, report variances against budget and undertake contingency planning to minimise risk.
• Monitor income and KPIs against agreed budgets and targets, taking action to address any shortfall.

People management:

• Provide all aspects of line management support, development and coaching to the Fundraising Assistant.
• Recruit, train, manage and inspire volunteers to deliver agreed aspects of the fundraising plan.

About You

The successful candidate will be an experienced fundraiser in community and events with strong interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to build relationships with a wide variety of individuals.

Excellent organisational skills are a must along with being ambitious, driven and passionate about representing The Passage and supporting their mission.

Key Responsibilities:

• Through excellent, comprehensive and considered research, you’ll identify and prioritise a pool of potential grant giving trusts and foundations funders for Kensington & Chelsea Food Bank. You’ll forge relationships with those funders, develop and submit timely and winning funding applications.
• Working with colleagues across Kensington & Chelsea Food Bank, you’ll develop authentic, compelling, creative and winning funding applications and partnership proposals.
•  You’ll manage the ongoing relationships with grant giving trusts and foundations funders, ensuring they receive excellent stewardship, timely reporting and doing all you can maximising potential for further funding.
•  You’ll also work collaboratively with other local Trussell Trust food banks and identify, propose and progress opportunities for joint funding applications.
•  You’ll help secure funding from local businesses by responding to enquiries with proposals for how those local businesses can best support Kensington & Chelsea Food Bank.
• You will develop, monitor and manage a trusts fundraising portfolio capable of generating in excess per annum. You’ll establish a trusts fundraising pipeline, including a range of KPI’s that can be tracked and that will enable you to make informed projections regarding future income.
• You’ll forge strong relationships with colleagues across the wider Trussell Trust network, sharing best practice and learning from other charities across the network. You’ll proactively take advantage of any fundraising training and skills development opportunities and engage with any joint fundraising opportunities.
• Oversee and assist as needed the Foodbank Project Manager and Volunteer Manager to:

1.  Maintain relationships with key local stakeholders and identify fundraising opportunities and helping with other community relationships as needed.
2. Further develop and maintain relationships with referral agencies.

• Generate content to promote the work of the food bank, encourage donations through social media, regular foodbank newsletters and contact with corporate Volunteers.  

Skills

• You’ll have strong, established experience of trusts and foundations fundraising. Experience of corporate partnerships fundraising would also be beneficial.
•  With excellent written and verbal communication and relationship management skills. You’ll be able to inspire and motivate new and existing funders.
• You’ll have experience of setting, managing and reporting against fundraising KPI’s. 
• You’ll be tenacious and able to embrace, develop and shape a new role. You’ll be well organised, proactive, and a self-starter who is able to self-motivate.
•  You’ll be able to demonstrate empathy for people from disadvantaged, marginalised or socially-excluded backgrounds.

About the role

The University of London’s Development Office is responsible for delivering philanthropic support for the strategic fundraising priorities of the University. As Senior Philanthropy Operations Manager, you will act as the strategic lead for the data and information management that underpins all of the Development Office’s activities. This will include management of the Blackbaud CRM database (and all associated Blackbaud products), gift processing, reporting and analysis, as well as ensuring compliance with relevant data protection legislation. About the Role

This role will provide senior marketing leadership to the Acquisition Squad. Working closely with the Head of Acquisition, you will lead the planning and delivery of our effective acquisition programme, to deliver growth in our Individual Giving supporter base and income.

You'll lead the development of multi-channel marketing campaigns. Working collaboratively with our partner agencies, you'll have accountability for delivery across the full range of Individual Giving channels (e.g., DRTV, PPC, Paid Social, Display, Offline, Telemarketing).

To be successful, it is important that you have:

• Significant experience in marketing including developing complex and integrated multi-channel marketing plans
• Extensive experience in Individual Giving acquisition programmes, including developing audience led marketing campaigns to acquire new regular giving donors
• Outstanding project management skills and experience with a proven ability to plan and manage activity that delivers complex projects on time and to budget
• Experience of effectively managing external partners, including knowledge and experience of working with media agencies to plan, buy and optimise paid media, creative agencies, telemarketing and fulfilment agencies
• Experience of developing fundraising and / or marketing assets to drive engagement and action
• Experience of developing engaging supporter journeys across channels to deepen engagement with supporters and drive further action

About You:

Having worked in a third sector direct marketing role previously, you will have experience running effective national and regional campaigns using a variety of fundraising channels including digital, email, social media, direct mail, and telemarketing. • Work collaboratively with data teams to ensure effective use of supporter profiling for delivery across a range of Retention campaigns
• Manage relationships with external agencies including media houses, designers and printers; to negotiate costs and relevant performance reviews
• Responsibility for collation of all KPI tracking, trend analysis and activity results that feed into the team’s reporting and performance structure
