This peer support project is delivered in partnership with South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust to support Carers of people with mental health conditions. This project will work to support Carers through one-to-one support, outreach, training and peer support groups.
About The Role:
Using your lived experience of caring for someone with a mental health condition, and a strengths-based approach, you will support mental health Carers in their caring role. About this job
We’re looking for an experienced policy professional to join our Policy and Evidence team to lead our impactful health and care policy activity. You’ll lead a high-performing team operating at the heart of a friendly and supportive directorate with an excellent track record of influencing policy change. Working across a large and varied portfolio, you’ll take the lead in developing and leading our policy positions, campaigns and influencing programmes.
We have strong relationships across the charity, clinical, and governmental sectors. You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate closely with external partners as a thought leader on major issues like access to treatments and neurology services, mental health, community rehabilitation, and support for carers.

Our prior Program Manager has moved up to the role of Chief Programs Officer on our executive team. As such, we are looking for a deeply impact-motivated Program Manager to run our flagship Charity Entrepreneurship Incubation Program. In this role, you will train, advise, and pair exceptional potential founders through a twice-annual, two-month training program. This culminates in supporting the founders through a seed fundraising round and the launch of new charities delivering exceptionally cost-effective programs at scale across global development.
Our program has incubated more than 40 new charities over the past five years, with many receiving recognition from charity evaluators such as GiveWell and Animal Charity Evaluators as field-leading organisations.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Charity Entrepreneurship Incubation Program is a twice-a-year intensive training program enabling cohorts of 8-16 exceptionally talented international entrepreneurs and nonprofit professionals to launch outstandingly cost-effective, evidence-based new nonprofits in the space of two months.
The program chiefly consists of a twice-annual sequence.

Preparing the upcoming cohort and running the initial book club where participants deep dive into our handbook and the recommended idea reports

The two-month program itself, which includes a 2+ week in-person section and consists of training and coaching participants to select co-founders and ideas

Post-program support to the new founders, providing ongoing guidance and facilitating connections with our networks of mentors and alumni.

Evaluation and improvement work for the program itself, and the post-program support and evaluation plus improvements period. In between, the team
The Charity Entrepreneurship Incubation Program team chiefly consists of ~two FTE preparing and running the program and interacting regularly with the recruitment team (for finding and selecting the ideal program candidates), the research team (for selecting and adapting the ideal charity ideas for the program participants), and the operations team (for supporting the incubated projects immediately upon launch through the program). This role reports to Samantha, our Chief Programs Officer, and works closely together with Steve, the second Program Manager who focuses mostly on participant training and coaching.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

ABOUT YOU
The role is most suitable for a mid-level professional (3-5+ years of experience) with a background in running programs or nonprofit organisations. An ideal candidate may bring experience in launching and implementing new or early-stage programs or in conducting earlier stage intervention research or monitoring & evaluation work, particularly in LMIC contexts. The applied experience will be invaluable in training, pairing, and advising the next generations of incubatees who are aiming to launch some of the most impactful nonprofits in the world.

APPLICATION PROCESS
Our application processes aim to be highly predictive, time-effective, and informative for you. Our process consists only of stages that our best evidence suggests are predictive of success on the job (such as test tasks) rather than more common but less predictive stages (such as cover letters). The Student Voice Facilitator will work within the Student Voice team to develop and deliver innovative representation practices, ensuring our members can exercise their student voice and influence university decision-making. This will be focused on Student Futures, a large-scale transformation portfolio King’s College London is undertaking. Student Futures aims to improve student experiences in key areas across the next three years. Responsibilities include:
FACILITATING QUALITY REPRESENTATION PRACTICES:
- Facilitate representation practices within Student Futures, both in person and online, in line with KCLSU’s Student Voice Partnership Agreement and Student Voice Design Framework;
- Lead on development of innovative facilitation methods to foster collaborative, productive spaces for student participation that are fit to respond to the issue at hand;
- Create toolkits, guidance, and other training materials to support the facilitation skills development across KCLSU and King’s;

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial management
● Lead the setting, tracking and reporting of budgets and fundraising targets
● Maintain accurate records of income and expenditure on a cash and accrual basis
● Manage bookkeeping for the charity, including invoicing and bank reconciliations
● Keep accurate records of funding allocations, especially restricted and unrestricted income
● Work with our accountant to produce end-of-year accounts and prepare for audit
● Build strong relationships within The Economist Group finance team to support with financial management and compliance
● Ensure the charity remains tax compliant, including managing quarterly VAT returns and reviewing funding contracts
Operations, people and governance

About the Investment Team
The Investment Team is responsible for selecting charity partners, managing our charity investments and supporting our charity partners to improve and scale their impact.
The Investment Team also leads the Impetus Leadership Academy, a leadership development programme to support talent from ethnic minority backgrounds in the UK youth sector to progress into senior leadership roles.
The team is made up of 18 people, including former teachers, charity chief executives, charity impact leads, management consultants, social investment portfolio managers and impact consultants.
The team is led by a Portfolio Director who sits on the Senior Management Team. Job description – Investment Director
The Investment Director (ID) is a key member of the Investment Team, playing a leading role in identifying, assessing, and supporting portfolio partner charities and other non-profit organisations to deepen their impact and scale their outcomes. This role works closely with other Investment Directors and Investment Managers to deliver external facing support to portfolio partners as well as internal projects to support the development of the investment model and portfolio strategy.

Key responsibilities
Finding high potential charities and non-profit partners for our portfolio
- Identifying potential charitable organisations for investment.

The Meetings and Events Manager would lead on the delivery of the RSTMH meeting and events strategy. You’ll work across our team, alongside our Information and Advice Worker, and potentially engage some of our volunteers. You’ll also bring in Parent Champions and lead sub-contracted work with a local community partner to help us reach residents in community languages. You’ll help us hear and collect resident stories. The information you collect will be reported to decision-makers responsible for health and care services.
You’ll enjoy working as part of a team committed to improving health and care services and access for Islington residents. You may have lived experience as a parent/guardian/carer of a child and/or be from a minoritised community.

KCLSU is looking for a Junior Finance Assistant to work with the Finance team. The post holder will assist in delivering the finance and administrative function under external statutory bodies' financial regulations and procedures and compliance requirements, while contributing to our students' educational journey at King's College London.
Summary of the Post
- To assist in delivering the finance and administrative function under external statutory bodies' financial regulations and procedures and compliance requirements.
- To support the annual audit process with external auditors.
- To support preparing accurate, compliant, and complete management accounts, financial statements, and other information promptly.
Main Tasks
- Routine Finance Operations
- Dealing with day-to-day purchase invoices and reconciling to purchase order
- Set up payment online
- Reconcile purchase ledger accounts
- Reconcile daily income from different systems to cash banking, post daily banking into the system
- Raise sales invoices and reconcile sales ledger accounts
- Aged debtor chasing
- Assist with Bank reconciliation
- Assist with monthly management account tasks and adjustments
- Generate reports from the exchequer system
- Assist with Balance Sheet accounts reconciliation
- Routine control activities, i.e. stock check
- Other finance office tasks, i.e., cash services to trading areas/provision of change
- Answer general financial queries from staff, KCL students, and suppliers.
The successful candidate will:
- Demonstrate the ability to quickly and accurately pick up new tasks, and showcasing a string aptitude for learning new skills.
- To ensure that KCLSU internal and external stakeholders, including KCL students, receive the highest level of support, with a focus on service quality.
- Consistently deliver work of the highest quality in a timely manner demonstrating promptness, accuracy and efficiency.
- Play an integrated role within the Finance team and support the overall organizational function.
- Actively demonstrate KCLU values.
- Adhere to and promote the financial regulations of KCLSU.
- Have relevant degree in Finance or related business discipline, from an academic institution. Or, candidates actively working towards a Chartered Accountant qualification.
- Have hands-on experience with integrated accounting systems is essential, preferably Exchequer
- Have hands-on experience with every aspect of financial operations is essential
- Have previous experience in a similar role
- Know accounting concepts and relevant VAT regulations are essential.
- Understand data protection in the context of a membership organisation is desirable.
