ActionAid UK works with women and girls living in poverty to end violence and fight inequality. As Senior UK Trusts Manager, you will manage a high-value portfolio generating £3.5M annually, including PPL and CIFF. In partnership with senior colleagues, you will also co-lead the strategic development of the UK Trusts programme, shaping and delivering its vision.

As Senior UK Trusts Manager, you will: 

• Manage a portfolio generating £3.5M, including PPL and CIFF
• Develop creative engagement strategies, organise stewardship events, and represent ActionAid at donor meetings and international trips
• Co-lead the UK Trusts programme strategy with the Head of Trusts & Global Markets and senior colleagues
• Line-manage and support the UK Trusts Specialist
• Collaborate across a wide array of internal teams —Philanthropy, Communications, Programme Quality, and more—to deliver shared goal

Ideal skills and experience:

• Proven success in managing six- or seven-figure multi-year relationships with major trusts and foundations based on a partnership model
• Experience working with large donors like CIFF, PPL is desirable 
• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build rapport at all levels
• An entrepreneurial, creative approach with a track record of spotting and pursuing opportunities
• Ideally, you will have experience fundraising for an international development charity/INGO

Your role will be to support service users to develop strategies to manage emotions and deliver skills training to foster self-confidence by knowing how to access appropriate support. You will also support service users to increase capacity to undertake activities to support daily living and advocate for service users in conjunction with multi-agency partners to engage with treatment and other professionals/services (MH teams/support groups)  Your role will support our team in achieving our Justice Business Plan objectives: innovate, revitalise and reform the delivery of Justice Services.

This role will involve working in close partnership with delivery partners, HMPPS, Voluntary Sector and other Criminal Justice organisations to promote and deliver our services and achieve the required outputs and outcomes.

Qualifications

Essential

Driving License and Access to a vehicle.

Good basic education, including Maths and English GCSE or equivalent.

Evidence of continual professional development.

About the Role

The Campaigns and Influencing Manager will develop and drive forward Agenda’s campaigns and influencing plans to improve systems and services for women and girls with unmet needs.

This role would support a collaborative, proactive and enthusiastic person, keen to work closely with our team, Alliance members, and women and girls with lived experience of the areas we work on, to share our messages and bring about positive social change.

This is an exciting and varied role, providing the right candidate with the opportunity to bring together campaigning, policy influencing, convening and co-production, as well as the chance to develop and manage others. The postholder will look across all our evidence and projects to consider and implement the most impactful routes to influence.

Key responsibility areas

• Developing and holding Agenda’s campaigns and influencing plans, aimed at improving systems and services for women and girls with unmet needs, drawing on a range of tactics and approaches.
• Overseeing the delivery of existing funded projects and influencing goals, including around young women and racial disproportionality in the justice system, girls at risk of school exclusion, mental health and racism in public services.
• Coordinating the team to draw together Agenda’s research, communications, policy and insights to develop key messages, and ways of using these to target and influence key audiences.
• Identifying key points of influence and leverage across a range of areas, nationally and locally - developing approaches and relationships with key actors which will have maximum impact for bringing about change.

Buxton Opera House is a beautiful Edwardian theatre and one of the country's finest examples of Frank Matcham theatre design. Under the leadership of Paul Kerryson, CEO, Buxton Opera House has become one of Britain's leading receiving theatres. Our programme comprises around 450 performances each year including dance, comedy, children's shows, drama, live music, pantomime and opera, with a thriving programme of work at the Pavilion Arts Centre which includes live music and a space for young artists to perform. The post holder will work closely with the CEO, and major internal and external stakeholders. The Head of Individual Giving will play a key role in managing and growing the theatre’s individual giving income, membership schemes and events, and will support corporate income. This role will be central to our ongoing success as a highly regarded independent research organisation, building an evidence base in favour of embedding sustainability principles into business practices, regulatory and public policy thinking. You will help to amplify our voice with decisionmakers, including business leaders, senior officials in central government, regulatory bodies, and amongst politicians, helping to shape public policy and legislation for a socially equitable and environmentally sustainable economy.

Ideally, you will have a sector-specific understanding (energy and/or water utilities), including familiarity with key policies and strategies, such as Net Zero targets, climate adaptation strategies, and consumer vulnerability protections. The post will be primarily based remotely, working from home, but with access to shared office space in Camden and Monument in London. Our board of trustees meet twice a year in person in central London (and twice more online), and our Executive Director is often in London for meetings once or twice a week. Main Responsibilities:

 Strategic Leadership and Management

– Fulfilling the role of Company Secretary and leading the delivery of all governance processes in line with policy, procedures and the memorandum and articles, including all charity and corporate law requirements.

– To take the lead role on compliance, maintaining and developing a policy framework and working with Heads of Service to ensure that appropriate policies are drafted, reviewed and implemented and that the YMCA meets all its obligations under the relevant statutory and regulatory frameworks in which we work (Ofsted, RSH and possibly CQC in the future).

– To provide or facilitate training and development activity to ensure that managers and staff are aware of, and are meeting, requirements laid down by relevant policies, legislation and regulatory bodies. 

– To take on the role of Data Protection Officer and ensure that the YMCA complies with its statutory responsibilities under Data Protection Regulations

– To be responsible for leading on quality management and maintaining our accreditation under Trusted Charity.

– To work with Heads of Service, managers and trustees to ensure that effective risk management practice is embedded into decision making at all levels of the organisation.

– To attend trustee meetings and to produce reports and help prepare agendas for the Governance and Risk Committee, a subcommittee of the main board.

IT

– To be responsible for all IT hardware and software needs, to manage support contracts and develop new IT systems and use of technology to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Association (including mobile phones, laptops and other devices).

– To work with other Heads of Service to develop and maintain new integrated IT systems that can manage data, and record, monitor and evaluate outputs and outcomes delivered by the YMCA’s diverse projects and services.

– To work with the Systems Analyst and outsourced IT Support Company deliver ongoing digital transformation and promote the necessary training and policies to ensure that staff fully utilise the new technology.

– To work with the Fundraising Manager and CEO to support the delivery of new projects especially the acquisition and development of new properties such as additional Move On accommodation for young people.

 HR

– In conjunction with the HR Manager ensure the overall HR strategy of YMCA East Surrey is in line with the law, good practice and our values.

– With the HR Manager, oversee the development of internal practices, policies and working culture in line with the overall HR strategy.

 Facilities

– To line manage the Facilities Manager and to oversee the introduction and implementation of cyclical maintenance plans for all YMCA buildings.

– To have oversight of the Facilities Manager’s responsibility of all insurances required by the YMCAES.

– Oversight of the management and financial viability of The Old Pheasantry.

Budget and Finance

– To work with the CEO and Head of Finance to prepare the annual budget for central services (including buildings) and to manage this budget throughout the year.

– Any other duties are required to be performed within the grade and renumeration of the role.

Main duties and responsibilities

Maintaining and developing partnerships

• To work alongside the CEO to seek out and develop new partnerships with commercial and non-commercial partners including charitable grant giving organisations/funders.
• To play an active role in researching and developing applications to charitable grant giving organisations and other potential partner organisations.
• To reach out to the wider community, enhancing the reputation of UoGSU and strengthening key relationships.
• To maintain and develop key commercial and non-commercial partnerships with external organisations (such as those who attend on site activations.)
• To lead on the development of bespoke arrangements for commercial partners to deliver the best experience for our members.
• To work with others across UoGSU to ensure that all obligations from arrangements with partners are met. This may include the scheduling of communications, data collection, facilitating of on campus visits or  other similar actions.

Student sales and internal communication

Grants Manager-Ukraine Humanitarian Programme 

Salary: £42K per annum.

The Ukraine Humanitarian appeal raised £439 million and helped an estimated 6.9 million people in Ukraine and neighbouring countries. The Grants Manager is integral in working closely with DEC colleagues and member charities to build and sustain, a solid understanding of the evolving humanitarian context. The Grants Manager will also lead on oversight of the DEC Ukraine programme including the reporting cycle, adaptive programming and facilitate strong and relevant engagement with DEC member charities and local partners as well as external briefings over the duration of the response. 

Key responsibilities: 

Communication and Collaboration 

• Key programmes point of contact regarding the DEC funded programme, responding to enquiries from member charity programmes and other related staff, facilitating timely and accurate communication. 

• Maintain strong understanding of response context. 

• Manage and provide timely, response briefings to internal and external audiences, key stakeholders including the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office [FCDO] and, other key stakeholders. 

• Travel to Ukraine and surrounding response countries to deliver workshops with members and their local partners. 

Analysis and Reporting 

• Review, evaluate, and advise on member charity project plans and reports for consistency, trends analysis and coherence of data across submitted documentation. 

• Contribute to the review and analysis of plans and reports submitted by member charities in response to DEC appeals. 

• Share timely and relevant information and analysis from plans and reports with DEC member charities and local partners.

• Manage external reporting requirements including preparation of stakeholder reports and infographics. 

Management and Leadership 

• Coordinate the team’s surge capacity to deliver points above, which may involve managing and inducting a team of external consultants and training them in the use of our knowledge management system [Box]. 

• Coordinate with the Programme Quality, Accountability & Learning team to ensure monitoring, learning and accountability initiatives are timely and appropriate to the response. 

• Support with real-time reviews, community perception studies and other related MEAL activities. 

If you have recently worked in a humanitarian team in any of DEC’s 15 member charities, or have demonstratable humanitarian experience within the Ukraine response or other large scale Humanitarian responses, with the competence to prepare timely/accurate reports and deliver credible presentations to diverse audiences, then you will be perfect to join an incredible team and organisation at the DEC.

We cannot predict the need for a future appeal, but should one occur during the contract for this role, the successful applicant may be asked to stay on for an extended period.
