Growing Hope is a charity providing free therapy for children and young people with additional needs in partnership with local churches across the UK. We aim to grow hope for children, hope for families and hope in Jesus.
Growing Hope was founded in December 2017 and has a vision to see 20 clinics set up across the UK by 2030. We have three clinics, King’s Cross, Brockley and High Wycombe, and we are currently setting up a fourth clinic in Gateshead and a fifth in Redbridge. Each clinic is a local CIO which runs in partnership with Growing Hope and the local church. We have worked with over 700 children, young people, parents, carers and siblings since we launched. As a national charity Growing Hope has trained over 500 professionals & parents. We are continuing to expand, with the set-up of further local clinics on the horizon.
Growing Hope seeks a highly-motivated and experienced Director of Growth who is passionate about our mission. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead and develop our Fundraising, Communications, Marketing and Clinic Growth functions. This will provide support for Growing Hope to continue making a tangible difference in the world and ensure the charity’s long-term sustainability and growth. This role will report to the CEO of the charity and will work closely as part of the Senior Leadership team. The Director of Growth will have oversight of Fundraising, Communications, Marketing and Clinic Growth within the charity. This will involve line management of the Fundraising Manager and Executive Assistant in the team. The charity has a vision to champion accessibility UK wide and to set up twenty clinics in partnership with local churches by 2030, there’s a current pipeline in progress to achieve this. As the charity grows we want to ensure that we have strong financial strategy and growth plans which enable us to achieve our vision. As a small charity, the role will require balancing practical tasks with strategic planning and management. The role will be based in King’s Cross with occasional events outside of the office. We envisage the focus of the role to be split with a 40% focus on income generation, 20% on Clinic Growth and 20% on brand, marketing and PR, all aspects of the role will include leadership and management.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities will be discussed and developed as the charity continues to grow, but will include:
Leadership and Management:
- Working as part of the Senior Leadership team to strategically support the running of the charity.
- Providing line management for the Fundraising Manager, Executive Assistant and other potential members of the team as the charity grows.
- Leading and participating in prayer and worship with the team in line with Growing Hope’s Christian values.
- Ownership of income raising of £710,000 for the national charity with a view to growth each year. In addition to this an income of approximately £100,000 for each local clinic and ensuring that income targets are met across the national and local charities.
Fundraising Strategy & Finance:
- Lead the development and execution of long-term financial plans in close alignment with the charity’s strategic goals from a Fundraising perspective.
- Reporting monthly to the Growing Hope senior team and trustee board on income, forecasts and plans to hit income targets.
- Manging the fundraising, marketing and communications budget lines.
- Oversee the process of forecasting and planning income for analysis of the leadership team and Board of Trustees.
- Support fundraising strategy development and long term planning for growth.
- Explore and implement strategies for ensuring best use of charitable funds, and maintaining financial sustainability.
- Explore and implement innovative strategies to ensure that Growing Hope are raising funds as effectively as possible at both a national and a local level.
Marketing and Communication:
- Overseeing and developing Marketing and Communication strategy across the charity, including PR development, socials and internal and external communications.
- Oversight of projects and campaigns running across Growing Hope.
- Promoting the Growing Hope brand both internally and externally.
- Developing strategies to support staff with understanding and working to the Growing Hope values.
- Oversight of marketing and advertising on behalf of the charity.
- Analysing key marketing performance metrics and using tracking tools to provide market research, forecasts, competitive analyses, campaign results, and consumer trends to formulate actionable insights for the marketing team.

Clinic Growth:
- Supporting the Senior Leadership Team with strategic oversight of the clinic growth process and the vision for twenty clinics by 2030.

Person Specification
The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in working in the charity sector, an interest in additional needs and inclusion are highly desirable.
ESSENTIAL
This role has an Occupational Requirement to be a Christian, as permitted under Schedule 9, Part 1, of the Equality Act 2010.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience in fundraising and strategically achieving income targets.
- Proven experience in a senior operations or leadership role, preferably in a charity or non-profit setting.

Since 2006, ROLDA has dedicated itself to aiding vulnerable stray animals in Romania, one of Europe s poorer nations. Our mission includes rescue, rehabilitation, sheltering, sterilisation, and education. Our EU-standard shelters, inspired by British designs, can house up to 700 stray dogs, providing them with complete veterinary care and preparation for rehoming.
We have supported over 48,000 animals and built two dog shelters and one for disabled and senior cats. Additionally, we offer small grants to six other charities in Romania and over 40 shelters in Ukraine. We primarily rehome animals in Switzerland, Sweden, and the UK. By addressing the root causes of animal homelessness through neutering programmes and educational initiatives, we have significantly reduced overpopulation, helping over 40,000 cats and dogs in Romania and Ukraine.
Job Overview:
As the Volunteer Program Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the growth and impact of ROLDA through volunteer engagement. This is a remote position that requires strategic thinking, people management skills, and a commitment to achieving our charity’s objectives.

About the role

About The Role
Working closely with our Chief Executive Officer, the Operations and Systems Manager would take a birds-eye view of our organisation to help us build a consistent, collaborative and centralised approach to how we work. You would hold responsibility for developing and embedding operational strategies, processes, policies, and systems that meet our needs and help to support staff wellbeing. This role includes a key focus on improving how we can better use and manage our digital infrastructure to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of internal processes and to improve our ability to engage and retain external audiences, enabling us to build our impact on a national scale. Key areas of responsibility are as follows:
Day-to-day operational management of the Charity, including:
- Resolving daily operational and administrative issues efficiently and effectively.
- Taking initiative to enhance or develop, implement and embed effective systems and working practices, drawing from personal knowledge and experience and external examples of best practice.
- Developing and refining our approach to hybrid working, ensuring systems and processes enable connection and creativity across the organisation. This includes working closely with the HR and Finance Officer to ensure new and existing staff are appropriately trained and supported with ensuring a safe, comfortable and productive home working set-up.
- Taking responsibility for managing our office space and working environment, ensuring it is fit for the organisation’s needs. This includes everything from liaising with our landlord and tradespeople, ensuring compliance with the terms of our lease, maintaining required levels of tea, coffee, milk, stationery and other consumables, and making improvements to ensure a productive and effective working environment.
- Ensuring technology (computers, printers etc.) is fit for purpose, safe, enables robust data security, and is properly recorded on Music Masters’ asset register.
- Oversight of service level agreements, memberships and contracts with external suppliers and providers, regularly reviewing these to ensure that they are current, necessary, effective and delivering value for money, in collaboration with the wider team and with the CEO / Finance Director as appropriate. This includes but is not limited to insurance and utilities.
- Management of certain operational budgets, in collaboration with the CEO / Finance Director.
- Oversight and administration of the Music Masters’ contact email inbox, voicemail inbox, and physical post.
- The organisation of certain social events, and other team away days or Board strategic planning days.
- Ensuring organisational risk assessments and operational policies and processes are kept up to date and fit for purpose. The role-holder would have oversight of the policy review schedule, working with the CEO and appropriate team members to ensure policies are being regularly reviewed and that we are compliant with all relevant legal and regulatory developments including GDPR and Health and Safety.
- Building effective business continuity measures, including developing and embedding a formal business continuity plan across the organisation.
Digital:
- Overseeing day-to-day management of IT and communications infrastructure and usage, including ensuring IT and comms equipment, systems and processes are fit for purpose and enable strong connectivity internally and externally, liaising with IT and comms support agencies as appropriate.
- In year one, leading a full review of digital processes, tools / platforms and systems used across the organisation, facilitating and overseeing a digitally enabled environment for efficiency and sustainable growth in accordance with MM’s strategy. This involves consultancy across the team and with external users, creating a brief for specialist consultancy / support to help us find the right solution(s), working closely with the appointed consultant to implement the solution(s), and facilitating or providing initial training and support for the team during implementation.
- Providing or organising ongoing support and training beyond the digital review to ensure confidence across the team with using our new infrastructure to its full potential, helping us to work efficiently and effectively.
- Ensuring digital processes are in place to enable the organisation to easily engage, onboard and manage new partnerships and project opportunities, and oversee administration within these areas of work.
- Overseeing development of digital tools and resources such as I’M IN and the Virtual Learning Environment used by Musicians of Change participants and graduates to improve usability, accessibility and engagement.

Data protection
- Managing our data as the organisation’s Data Lead (currently titled Data Protection Officer), ensuring ongoing compliance with GDPR, focusing on appropriate, effective and safe data collection, usage and storage (online and offline), and helping to build the wider team’s confidence with and understanding around best practice in data protection.
Governance
- Supporting the CEO with general governance support including the organisation of quarterly Board meetings and Board development arrangements, meeting minuting where appropriate, updating Trustee information, and ensuring compliance with the Charity Commission, Companies House and any other regulatory bodies.
General
- Undertaking relevant training, ensuring ongoing development of knowledge via conferences, reading and networking.
- Being an advocate for and exemplifying Music Masters’ core values of excellence and inclusion.

JOB PROFILE
Reporting to the UK Head of Communications and Giving (HC&G), you will be at the forefront of demonstrating to the public how Afghanaid is changing lives in Afghanistan, and raise awareness of key issues communities we work with are facing. You will lead the development and delivery of the organisation’s media and PR strategy, building out Afghanaid’s capacity to pitch stories, field opportunities, cultivate a strong network of journalists and high profile supporters, and ultimately secure coverage and opportunities that drive the success of the organisation’s campaigns and heighten Afghanaid’s credibility and profile.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Media and Public Relations
- Design and action an annual Media and PR strategy based on wider team and organisational goals;
- Conceptualise and deliver strategic earned media campaigns, supporting the HC&G to execute and maximise the success of multi-channel campaign development and execution;
- Proactively identify, pitch and advocate for compelling stories, strategically engaging with journalists to expand message reach and ensure brand integrity;
- Field inbound media inquiries, liaising with journalists and colleagues to maximise opportunities;
- Craft and distribute timely press releases, comments, and statements;
- Work with colleagues to cultivate a strong spokesperson team, with a particular focus on developing Afghanaid’s thought leadership;
- Support spokesperson briefing, developing talking points, interview briefs, Q&A materials and drafting speeches;
- Compile up-to-date and detailed media lists, cultivating warm media contacts through high quality stewardship;
- Monitor media coverage on Afghanistan and Afghanaid, including articles, live news, and social media activity to keep abreast of unfolding stories, identifying trends, cultural moments and other opportunities relevant to Afghanaid and devising ways to get involved;
- Generate content for various owned communication channels including the website, newsletters, and social media platforms, keeping the Media hub on the website up to date with the latest news, coverage, and journalist information, and making suggestions for refinement.
- Work with Communications Officer to maintain and execute a coordinated communications calendar, ensuring day-to-day team activities via earned, paid and digital communications streams are synchronised and symbiotic;
- Identify a wide range opportunities for positive exposure of Afghanaid that may inspire new support;
- Work with HC&G to support relationship management of external agencies and consultants, identifying and responding to opportunities to utilise pro-bono support from such businesses;
- Collect and analyse data and produce reports and presentations on key media and PR performance indicators to assess the effectiveness and reach of our communications activities and make recommendations for improvement;
- Identify and pursue opportunities to utilise high profile and celebrity support. Work collaboratively with other members of the Communications and Giving team to engage these contacts in media campaigns, appeals, digital communications and events, and where possible and appropriate cultivate Ambassador-style partnerships;
