Are you an expert fundraiser with a background in legacies and individual giving? Are you looking for a role that gives you the autonomy to shape and grow an individual giving, legacy and in-memory fundraising programme?

Role context:

Cord’s turnover is about £2m a year. About 85% of Cord’s funding is restricted, coming from institutional donors like the EU and the US government, and 15% (about £300K) is unrestricted coming from a committed UK supporter base and other private fundraising streams. 

In 2024, Cord operates in eight countries and has offices in Burundi, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia & Philippines. Cord has a global team of thirty people with finance staff across six country teams. 

The Finance Manager role is a newly created role which is being introduced to strengthen the organisation’s financial management and control systems. The postholder will work across the breadth of the finance function preparing internal management accounts and external annual accounts.

In 2024, Cord changed its finance system to use Business Central. The Finance Manager will become the organisation’s main ‘admin’ user of the finance system. In the near-term, there will be a particular focus on rolling out further functionality of the system.

The Finance Manager will have oversight of the UK finance function through the line management of the UK Finance Officer and will directly deliver on the international side of operations in the areas of donor compliance, programme financial management, partner financial monitoring, and reporting. The role will involve travel to international programme locations.

Key Responsibilities:

• To support the Head of Operations to provide finance team leadership, develop and deliver an annual finance workplan to ensure continual improvement, and to drive finance capacity across the organisation
• To ensure the effective financial management of the organisation create and maintain effective financial control
• To be the Business Central Finance System Lead, developing functionality, troubleshooting and capacitating system users
• To ensure financial compliance: prepare statutory accounts, partner compliance, donor compliance and financial reporting

About the role 

Purpose: We’re recruiting for a motivated and experienced Service Delivery Manager to expand our offer of support to motivate and empower an engaged global MS community. With strong knowledge and experience of managing projects and the ability design, shape and implement services.

You will be responsible for the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of products and services. Due to the growth of our services and levels of support, we are in a position to employ an additional Service Delivery Manager which will allow the successful candidate to benefit from the peer support of team members, as well as make the position their own, playing to their strengths. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Service Design and Improvement: Leading on the design, development and improvement of products and services in line with the charity’s strategic objectives, using insight and data to shape your thinking. 

• Project Planning: Taking the lead for the planning and delivery of in-person and digital events, products and services which include residential retreats, online courses, and webinars.

About you

• Minimum of 2 years practical project management experience / service design and delivery 

• Expertise in using and implementing relevant project management methodologies and tools.

• Confident in using monitoring and evaluation tools to ensure products and services are continuously improved. 

• Project management qualification such as Prince2 or Agile or similar qualification is desirable

Job Summary
Our new Wellbeing Manager role will complement Cardiomyopathy UKs new Community Engagement Programme, "Thriving Together." This programme promotes equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) while leading community development initiatives. The role involves strategising and implementing mental health support services, benefits and welfare support and managing relationships with external freelancers and partners. A key focus of this position is developing and delivering group support sessions within our Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) programme. The successful candidate will receive comprehensive training to confidently facilitate group ACT sessions, ensuring participants receive effective skills-based support that helps their well-being.

NB: The role is remote, with an expectation to visit the Amersham-based head office at least twice monthly. Amersham is on the Metropolitan Tube Line and is serviced by mainline train services. Travel expenses will be paid. 

Role
The main duties for this role are as follows:

1. Provision of mental health support via Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

• Undergo training to become proficient in delivering Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
• Implement ACT sessions in group online formats to support individuals in managing mental health challenges.
• Develop tailored ACT programs that address the specific needs of our community members.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of ACT interventions, adapting approaches as necessary to improve outcomes.
• Liaise and manage the partnership with our ACT provider to ensure our community receives one-to-one support where appropriate

2. Community Development

• Work with our existing peer support programme to develop and implement equality, diversity and inclusion strategies to ensure all community engagement activities are inclusive and accessible.
• Identify and address the needs of marginalized and underserved communities through tailored community development projects.
•  Build and maintain strong relationships with community groups, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
• Organise and facilitate community events and activities to promote social inclusion and cohesion

3. Provision of Benefits and Welfare Support

• Raise awareness of Headway services amongst brain injury survivors, their carers and family members thereby increasing demand for our support.
• Drive engagement and support from stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, politicians, celebrities, grant-making bodies, and prospective fundraisers / donors.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Lead the review and development of the Headway brand
• Develop and launch campaigns to raise the profile and reputation of Headway
• Implement campaigns that meet organisational need such as promotion of services, recruitment of volunteers or a shop donation appeal.
• Create and disseminate promotional materials such as an impact report as well as leaflets, flyers, posters and digital assets relating to Headway services.
• Oversee the production of videos, testimonials, and photography for use in promotion of Headway and its services.

We are looking for an experienced Communications Manager to work for an important international charity.

Position: Communications Manager

7. Strong creative flair with a strong understanding of best-practice design principles.

Overall purpose

The Senior Communications Manager is responsible for developing, leading and implementing key aspects of our communications and engagement strategy. You will enjoy variety. Your day could involve operational planning, developing a new campaign, briefing freelancers and agencies, finding compelling stories, creating our Impact Report, speaking with journalists, working on internal communications, or drafting social media posts.
