As part of our approach to succession planning, we are currently looking to appoint one exceptional candidate to join the Board. The ideal candidate for this role will bring a wealth of experience in asset management and procurement.
Job Title: Board Member
Hours: Typically, five board meetings a year, plus three committee meetings, and two- or three-days visiting sites or attending external events.
Term(s): For up to two terms of three years each.
Responsible to: Chair of the Board
Salary: Currently unremunerated with associated expenses paid (The Board have agreed that a £2.5K per annum salary be introduced from September 2025)
Location: Board and committee meetings are usually facilitated by remote video access with at least three board meetings in person. In person meetings are generally held in London.
Induction: All incoming Board Members benefit from a comprehensive induction process, including meeting staff, being assigned a board ‘buddy’, up to three professional coaching sessions and Insights Discovery personality profiling.
Appraisal: Board Member appraisals are carried out annually and incorporate a 360-degree approach.

English Rural is a leading specialist rural housing association with an active development programme. We build and manage homes in village locations, principally across the South of England. About the Role
This is an exciting time to join the Board, as English Rural continues the successful delivery of an ambitious Business Strategy, which supports our position as a leading provider of affordable rural homes. Through the Strategy we are investing more than ever in our agreed purpose – ‘The provision and management of affordable housing for local people in rural villages in England and to be an advocate for affordable rural housing’.
As well as meeting the general requirements of the role, we are particularly looking for candidates who can contribute in one or more of the following areas:
- Expertise in asset management within a housing or similar sector
- Sound knowledge of procurement and contract performance management
- Experience of implementing sustainability and environmental aims within a housing or similar sector

About the service
As part of the Ascent partnership within the London Violence against Women and Girls (VAWG) Consortium, the SVHL provides free and confidential emotional support to self-identified women aged 14+ and based in London, and who has been affected by any form of sexual violence at any time in their lives.
The SVHL consists of a specialist team of women, including trained counsellors and volunteers, who provide a safe space for survivors to explore their feelings. Support is also provided to the friends and families of survivors and other professionals to understand how best to support survivors of sexual violence.
Services provided by the SVHL includes a Freephone Helpline, Emotional Webchat, and Emotional Services Session (for those on the counselling wait list).

REQUIREMENTS + KEY CRITERIA

You may have experience of living with muscular dystrophy, other disabilities or life limiting conditions, but this is not essential.
MAIN BOARD MEETINGS + EXPENSES
Trustee Board meetings take place virtually. They are usually 2hrs. Over and above this time commitment, trustees on average, depending on their role, may give additional time in being directly involved in occasional ad projects – MHF Trustees ‘own’ a ‘bucket’, in other words, an area of responsibility like HR, Fundraising, Safeguarding, Marketing, Finance, Digital, Risk or Campaign Management that allows an individual to bring their skills, experience and talents to the charity. Reasonable expenses will be covered.

Overview
The RLSS archive, much of which has been professionally digitised in recent years, is located at Commonwealth Headquarters in Worcester U.K. The Archivist will join the existing volunteer, lay pan-Commonwealth Heritage Committee which is responsible for the preservation and promotion of the archive.
RLSS has 31 autonomous members throughout the Commonwealth all of which have a history and some of which have their own archive.
The Heritage Committee is guided by its Terms of Reference, a consultant’s report funded under The National Archives (TNA) Scoping Grant programme and the RLSS Heritage Strategy and Heritage Position Statement.
Position Holder is Accountable to:
The Chair of the RLSS Heritage Committee.
Position Holder is Accountable for:
- Providing input into the development and implementation of the RLSS Heritage Strategy.
- Advising the Heritage Committee on appropriate steps to preserve, protect, identify, catalogue, fund, supplement, promote and share the archive.

Duties
• Support and provide advice on Emerge Worldwide’s purpose, vision, mission, goals and activities.
• Approve operational strategies and policies, and monitor and evaluate their implementation.
• Oversee Emerge Worldwide’s financial plans and budgets and monitor and evaluate progress.
• Ensure the effective and efficient administration of the organisation.
• Ensure that key risks are being identified, monitored and controlled effectively.
• Keep abreast of changes in Emerge Worldwide’s operating environment.
• Contribute to regular reviews of Emerge Worldwide’s own governance. Attend Board meetings and adequately prepared to contribute to discussions.

Terms of office

Role Purpose
The Fundraising Trustee will support the Board and Senior Leadership Team in driving fundraising strategies to secure sustainable income, build key partnerships, and ensure delivery of the organisation's objectives. Key Responsibilities
1. Governance and Strategic oversight

About the Safeguarding Trustee Role

The Safeguarding Trustee ensures Rebuilding Lives UK meets all safeguarding obligations and promotes a culture of safeguarding at every level. They provide expert oversight, policy guidance, and ensure best practices are embedded across the organisation. Fundraisers wanted to support East London Waterworks Park in developing and implementing our fundraising strategy.
East London Waterworks Park is a volunteer-led charity that has won a 2024 New London Architecture award and raised £2m towards buying land from the Department for Education to transform the 14-acre Thames Water Depot on Lea Bridge Road on the border of Waltham Forest and Hackney, into a new biodiverse park with natural swimming ponds, forest schools and community spaces.
We are looking for fundraisers to contribute to our community-led fundraising strategy, to develop relationships with funders and to write funding applications.
You would join our fundraising circle, which coordinates our fundraising efforts. It is currently exploring grant opportunities and developing relationships with businesses and other funders. We meet online on Google Meet and volunteers complete agreed tasks remotely.
If you have experience in writing grants and funding applications, corporate fundraising, philanthropy, or any other aspect of fundraising, it would be great to hear from you.
We are keen fundraisers but we are lacking professional expertise and experience and we would love your help and input. We would welcome one-off advice on the phone or in person, as well as longer term volunteers.
