As the Management Accountant, you will play a critical role in shaping the financial landscape of our organisation. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, you will oversee the production of and deliver the monthly Management Accounts pack, providing valuable insights into organizational performance. You will lead on ensuring compliance in our financial practices by managing annual financial audits.

This role will require you to collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve the financial health and effectiveness of the charity. This is an opportunity to be part of a friendly, integrative team with a passion for changing children’s lives.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate, insightful and timely monthly management accounts.
• Analysing data and providing insights to support strategic decisions.
• Support Budgeting and forecasting

Skills required:

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with some post-qualification experience.
• Previous experience in a management accounting role, preferably within the charitable sector.
• Familiarity with SORP (Statement of Recommended Practice) for charities.
• Proficient in financial packages (Ideally Sage Intacct) and MS Excel.
• Great collaboration skills with stakeholders

Strategic Carer Recruitment Communications Manager

Its an exciting time at Shared Lives Plus, as our Strategic Advice and Development Team are busy with multiple key projects.  We are actively seeking an experienced Manager to join the team on an initial fixed term contract basis.

At Shared Lives Plus we work with local organisations to help them grow providing consulting, training and improvement support to help them review, grow and diversify Shared Lives and Homeshare across the UK. This year the Strategic Advice team will be supporting a number of local authorities and their partners in the NHS, housing, and the voluntary and community sector to delivery local Accelerating Reform Fund (ARF) funded projects, a new £42.6m new innovation fund which has been set up to support innovation in adult social care. Around half of Shared Lives schemes across England will receive funding to grow and develop their support for people with a learning disability, dementia, young people leaving care, unpaid carers, and people leaving hospital.

A significant issue which is arising for local organisations involved in the ARF is the need for support around how local areas can recruit more Shared Lives carers. We are looking to recruit an experienced communication and marketing manager to join our team to provide support to local areas in cutting edge multi-channel and multi-media communications and marketing recruitment activities locally.

ROLE SUMMARY

The Director of Programmes and Partnerships is responsible for ensuring The Diana Award delivers quality impactful programmes and develops strong strategic partnerships that harness young people's power and potential to change the world. This role is one of four Director-level positions within the organisation, forming the Senior Leadership Team alongside the CEO.

The Programmes Directorate currently comprises four teams: Anti-Bullying, Mentoring, Social Action, and Impact and Influence, with a staff count of 25 plus a pool of associate trainers. The Diana Award’s programme strategy (2021-2026) focuses on embedding evidence-driven, youth-led approaches across our programmes, enhancing our profile as a platform for youth-led social action, and increasing our influence on policies affecting young people.

The Director of Programmes and Partnerships will work collaboratively with other members of SLT and the CEO to drive forward the organisation’s strategy and plans as set out in The Diana Award’s five-year strategy, Future Forward, and play a vital role in shaping the new strategy.

JOB DESCRIPTION 

Senior Leadership

• Drive the organisation’s strategy and vision as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, taking key decisions in the best interest of the organisation.
• Promote best practices across the organisation, including equal opportunities, risk management, data protection, safeguarding, health and safety, volunteer management, continuous improvement, and staff support and development.

Programme Strategy

• Provide leadership for programmes that deliver high impact, co-designed integrated approaches, which put young people at the centre of design and delivery in line with our theory of change.
• Lead the design, delivery, and review of The Diana Award’s programme strategy, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and conducting quarterly reviews to monitor progress.
• Work with the Impact and Influence team to embed evidence-based programming within the directorate, developing and rolling out appropriate systems and processes for monitoring, evaluation, and learning.
• Oversee The Diana Award’s policy function, supporting the Policy team and heads of teams to develop and embed policy objectives within programme plans, contribute to policy development, and identify opportunities to engage policymakers with our work.
• Identify and develop cross-cutting workstreams and initiatives to support the programme strategy and assist programme managers in their implementation.
• Maximise opportunities for young people to engage meaningfully and inclusively in programme planning, delivery, and review, adhering to sector best practices.

Programme Partnerships and Funding

• Build and maintain strategic programme and policy partnerships effectively through regular communication and quality report production.

Job Purpose

In the ever-changing environment of youth work, it is vital that within Slough we have both, safe spaces for young people to develop positive and trusting relationships and opportunities for them to develop their talents, skills and aspirations.

Together As One (formerly Aik Saath) has delivered a variety of youth services across Slough for over 25 years and a young carers service for almost 10 years.

“Young carers are children and young people (up to the age of 18 or 25 with SEND) whose life is affected by looking after someone with a disability or long-term illness. The person they care for may be a parent, a sibling, another family member or a friend, but need not necessarily live in the same house as them. The care that young carers give may be practical, physical and/or emotional.”

The terms ‘disability’ and ‘long-term illness’ do not just mean a physical disability or illness, but also cover, for example, mental illness, learning disability, substance misuse, frailty and old age.

Job Role

Working closely with the Chief Executive and the wider Together As One team, you will support the development and delivery of our Young Carers Service in Slough. This will involve the oversight of any emergent funding or contracts and the reporting requirements back to the funders. This post will involve adapting and coordinating a service around the service users’ needs.

You will work in partnership with Slough Children Frist and Slough Borough Council and ensure a coordinated approach to supporting young carers is maintained including the transition from a young carer to an adult carer pathway is developed and formed. Promotion of the service will be a key aspect of this role and you will ensure that the service is promoted across various platforms.

The role will be required to network and maintain relationships with our strategic partners, including the ability to attend key meetings to develop the Slough Young Carers offer. You will become the main point of contact for the triage of referrals and communications.

You will work to identify and support volunteers to become engaged within our services and provision. You will collate a range of data, information and imagery that creates evidence of your work and the impact it is making not only to young people but also to the wider community.

The HALO Trust are looking for an experienced and driven Philanthropy and Grants Manager to lead and develop high value relationships with philanthropic donors, with a focus on Trust and Foundations (and potentially corporates). 

The Global Philanthropy Team works to secure support for the delivery of vital projects to save lives and protect livelihoods in conflict affected countries around the world, as well as build organisational resilience and support innovative areas of work.  HALO’s philanthropic income has grown significantly in recent years, driven by introductions from our network of trustees, ambassadors and advocates and our focus on strategic and transformational partnerships. We are a small team of highly skilled, experienced and driven fundraisers with a collaborative team culture. The team is supported by a Philanthropy Operations Manager, Philanthropy Assistant and Global Philanthropy Research and Insight Lead (who leads on research and due diligence). In 2024 a Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships for the Middle East will join our team to lead relationship development in this key market.

About the role:

The HALO Trust has more than doubled in size over the last eight years by growing support from both Governments and philanthropic donors.  Global income from philanthropic donors (including the US) has significantly increased over the past five years – from circa £4 million to £15 million in 2022/23 and reaching a further peak of £44 million in 2023/24 in response to exceptional donor support for Ukraine. • Experience of building effective relationships with advocates linked to philanthropic donors
• An excellent communicator with the ability to build relationships with staff and colleagues in different cultural environments
• Outstanding written skills with the ability to work with programme and finance colleagues to design robust project proposals, reporting, and monitoring and evaluation
• Confident in working with financial information including project budgets
• Excellent written and verbal skills with strong attention to detail
• Outstanding interpersonal skills including ability to demonstrate tact, sophistication and gravitas

As the Business Operations Manager at The Way Youth Zone, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of our organisation with responsibility for back office functions, including facilities and infrastructure, volunteering, reception & administration and catering. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you’ll lead a team and contribute to the overall success of our vibrant youth zone.

We are looking for an experienced and professional Business Operations Manager/Office Manager who is passionate about making a positive difference in young people’s lives, a problem solver who enjoys working in a fast paced and varied environment with: 

• a robust working knowledge of policies and procedures relating, but not limited to, Data Protection, Human Resources, Health & Safety, Safeguarding;
• experience in operational and people management;
• an understanding of systems (for example CRM platforms or data bases such as Salesforce, 
• time and attendance platforms such as Breathe HR, and other software for room bookings,

Business Operations Manager Responsibilities:

Administration and Reception:

• Overall responsibility for the management of the ‘back office’ or non-delivery function, including ensuring resources and facilities are adequate (Youth Zone’s communications, office management & safe office environment).
• Establishing and maintaining appropriate office administrative systems, which may include supporting the delivery team to meet reporting requirements, and training the staff team in using all systems effectively and accurately.
• Developing, reviewing, and updating policies and procedures and ensuring they are understood and observed
• Oversee reception services, ensuring a positive experience for all visitors, in collaboration with the Reception Lead.
• Implement data protection protocols for sensitive information.
• Ownership of full recruitment processes; ensuring managers adhere to safer recruitment practices.
• Setting up and maintaining employee personnel files, in line with appropriate data/HR legislation.
• Providing an effective and efficient secretariat service to the CEO and Board of Trustees

Facilities & Infrastructure:

• To work alongside the Facilities Manager, Catering Manager and Head of Youth Work to ensure a high standard of Health and Safety and compliance at the Youth Zone.
• Develop and execute long-term plans for facility maintenance, upgrades, and expansion.
• Allocate resources efficiently to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for members and staff.
• Collaborate with external vendors for repairs, security, and facility improvements.
• To take a creative and enthusiastic approach to making The Way Youth Zone a valued facility in the locality.
• Promote eco-friendly practices within the facilities.

Catering:

• Ensure high-quality food services that meet health and safety standards in collaboration with the Catering Manager.
• Work closely with the Catering Manager to create diverse and nutritious menus.
• Oversee and monitor catering expenses and negotiate contracts with suppliers.
• Enhance the dining experience for youth members and staff in collaboration with the Catering Manager.

Volunteer Management:

• Develop a robust volunteer recruitment strategy in collaboration with the Volunteer Coordinator.
• Provide ongoing training and support to volunteers, where required
• Oversee the establishment of recognition initiatives to appreciate volunteer contributions.
• Coordinate volunteers’ tasks and schedules in collaboration with the Volunteer Coordinator

External IT Support:

• Collaborate with external IT service providers to maintain hardware, software, and network systems.
• Ensure data security and compliance with privacy regulations.
• Develop IT disaster recovery plans.

Direct Staff Management:

• To provide line management to the Catering Manager and the Facilities Manager, with a focus on the back office and administrative process needed for these roles to succeed.
• To provide line management to the Volunteer Coordinator, who will be responsible for the safer recruitment, training and stewardship of a large cohort of volunteers.
• To provide line management to the Reception Lead who in turn may manage the Youth Zones reception team.
• Regularly assess staff performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Identify growth opportunities for team members.
• Address any interpersonal issues within the team.
• Promote and organise staff development and training, in partnership with the Safeguarding, Training and Impact Manager

Senior Leadership Team:

• To be an active member of the team and deliver a focused, measurable contribution to the Youth Zone’s overall strategic plan operating in line with WEST Youth Zones and OnSide’s values and principles.
• Overall responsibility for ensuring the HR online system is being utilised effectively
• Work closely with other departments (e.g., Delivery, Fundraising) through your direct reports.
• To be alert to issues of safeguarding and child protection, ensuring the welfare and safety of Youth Zone members is promoted and safeguarded, and to report any child protection concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Leads using policies, procedures, and practice (training to be provided).
• Liaising with and working alongside the OnSide support team and engage with the wider Network of 14 other Youth Zones.
• To assist with any promotional activities and visits that take place at the Youth Zone, positively contributing towards increasing Youth Zone membership.
• As part of the management team, to deliver a focused, measurable contribution to the Youth Zone’s overall strategic plan.
• To carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by the Chief Executive

Skills and Knowledge Criteria:

• Proven experience in senior administrative roles within a busy office environment
• Experience of operational management & line management responsibility for a varied staff team
• Experience of providing support at Board or Chief Executive level
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• The ability to manage office systems and contact databases, to set them up and to use them effectively (for example MS Systems or Salesforce) 
• A working knowledge of Excel and ability to compile spreadsheets, prepared reports and scrutinise data
• Excellent communication skills with ability to establish a rapport and communicate effectively with stakeholders- at all levels and from all sectors
• The ability to work under pressure to cope with multiple demands and deadlines, to work fast and to a consistently high standard

We currently deliver youth club sessions four evenings each week in term time from our own venue, offering a diverse and high quality range of activities and project work. We also deliver detached youth work, Duke of Edinburgh and Arts Award programmes, AQAs, trips, residentials, holiday programmes, 1-2-1 and small group work, projects and youth volunteering, all served up with really tasty food. Alongside this we work with our parents and carers, wider community and partners to ensure we do whatever we can to support young people to thrive.

We are recruiting for a Senior Youth (Support) Worker to join our small, friendly team. We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled colleague, with the vision, knowledge and commitment to lead on the delivery of our curriculum, projects, club sessions and activities with, and for, the young people of Claremont.

You will support our team of youth support workers, volunteers and Peer Educators, helping them to use their knowledge and experience for the benefit of our members. You will develop relationships and partnerships within the community to develop further support and opportunities for young people. You will also support the evaluation of our work, ensuring we are continually meeting the needs and interests of young people.

You will have experience of managing a team covering a wide range of projects and interests. You will know what it takes to set up and manage a project and ensure it meets the intended outcomes.

About Richmond AID

Richmond AID offers 25 days annual leave plus eight bank holidays pro rata. Normal office hours are 9am to 5.15pm Monday to Thursday and 9am to 5pm on Fridays. ​This newly established role will help deliver a new WFD workplan on International Partnerships.

​WFD’s strategic 2.1 goal focuses on consolidating a summit process to follow up the three Summits for Democracy that were initiated by the US administration. Funding for this work is confirmed for the 2024/25 financial year but, with a strong possibility this role, could continue.

​The Senior Programme Manager - International Partnerships will be the dedicated person assigned to this workplan and will therefore play a vital coordinating role. The CEO will be the accountable officer and will line manager the Senior Programme Manager - International Partnerships.

​The Senior Programme Manager - International Partnerships will have lead responsibility for managing various relationships and activities. A range of key relationships, which will vary in line with the key activities, inside WFD, with the FCDO sponsor team, and with some of the other partners in relevant international organisations. The central activity is the Democracy Action Partnership to be held in the margins of the Bali Democracy Forum in December 2024.
