It is a very exciting time to join Marie Curie as we enter into a phase of change, collaboration & partnership with other organisations so that more people have access to a better end-of-life experience. We are continually developing a better understanding of what each community and geographical region may require depending on the public health needs of the population, the community assets already present and those that are as yet untapped resources.

You will be the commercial expert for your assigned 'place' in the UK. Providing expert advice and support to the place-based Associate Director across all stages of business development and management. From capturing intelligence through to developing and delivering successful proposals/tenders and lifecycle contract management.

You will work with health and social care sector commissioners to establish effective relationships and to maximise income from existing and new services and generate service innovation for the charity. You will be supported by 1-2 Business Leads (dependent on your assigned area).

This role contributes directly to growth in Marie Curie through the management of proposals, tenders and funding applications, following standard processes for developing business case, contract terms approval and risk assessment. Property Resources Officer

The Vacancy

We are offering a unique and exciting opportunity to join in the work of the Connexional Property Support team and the wider Methodist Church in delivering its strategic plan to make the best use of its buildings for mission in local communities across the country.

Working alongside the Director and colleagues within the team, you will be helping to provide the essential support and guidance the team offers to Trustees, Ministers, Connexional colleagues and the wider church.

Your role will be varied, including supporting colleagues in their specific areas of work and expertise - from listed buildings to net zero initiatives.  You will also lead on engagement with Trustees and alike who are seeking advice and guidance in relation to a variety of property resource needs.  This could be through the provision of proactive support of and input into, relevant forms of guidance, communications and funding, community engagement, training and good practice.

Alongside this, you will lead on the communications and resourcing to the District Property Officer network and other relevant networks, across the Connexion.

You will also support the Director in the administration of property related grants.

About You

We are looking for someone who wants to make a positive contribution to the work of the Property Support team and be equally comfortable collaborating in a team environment or under your own initiative.  You will have experience supporting a senior team, and preferably have property or project management experience, although this is not essential.

As the role will underpin and contribute to supporting the team’s work with external colleagues, particularly the District Property Officer network, it is essential that you are comfortable in engaging with a range of stakeholders, and have excellent organisational skills, particularly in terms of resourcing and training.

The role will be very collaborative with team colleagues, and therefore experience and ability to plan, research and assimilate new information alongside the analysis and delivery of projects will be an essential quality.

RSBC are seeking an experienced Habilitation Specialist to join our Services Directorate. In this varied role you’ll have the opportunity to work with children, young people and families directly, as well as developing and delivering training. You’ll be our organisational expert in all things Habilitation and be part of a wider team seeking to ensure blind and partially sighted children and young people can live their life without limits.

Who are we looking for?

Someone with a nationally recognised qualification in habilitation training for children and young people with a visual impairment. You will have significant experience of working with children and young people with vision impairment and additional needs, excellent written and oral skills, and good IT skills. There will be the occasional weekend and evening work for which time off in lieu will be given.

Hybrid with the possibility of a remote base, but regular attendance at the London Office and within London would be required.

Passionate about volunteering, community organising, or the value of people helping people? We’re hiring a Senior Volunteer Coordinator to join our Student Development Team.

Every year thousands of students volunteer to build communities around activities and social issues that are meaningful to them. These volunteer student leaders have a huge impact on the student experience of thousands more of their peers, as well as hundreds of people in the University’s local community. The Student Development Team aims to create opportunities for students to build and participate in communities that are inclusive, sustainable, ambitious, and impactful, and the Senior Volunteer Coordinator will play a key role in achieving this vision for our student leadership programmes.

In collaboration with a second Senior Volunteer Coordinator, you’ll be leading on a series of volunteering programmes that we’re really proud of. Since September 2023, student volunteers have raised over £150,000 for charitable causes, given over 2,800 hours of their time to volunteer directly in the local community, and broadcast an award-winning radio station, among other achievements. As the Senior Volunteer Coordinator you will coordinate the onboarding, skills development, and tailored support for volunteer student leaders who, in turn, coordinate their own volunteer teams. This means you’ll play a vital role in shaping our student leadership culture, as the way you manage your volunteers will influence the way they manage theirs.

This role is of strategic importance to our student leadership programmes as, alongside coordinating your own volunteering programmes, you’ll be working with other student-facing teams to inspire colleagues to develop their own volunteer management practices.

Our programmes are well-resourced, and we have an outstanding research & insight function that will support you to make data-driven decisions on making our programmes even better. We offer a comprehensive training programme for skills you might want to work on, from giving and receiving feedback well, to coaching and safeguarding. There’s no need for previous Higher Education sector experience – you might have coordinated teams of people in any context. We’re looking for someone who is capable of motivating or inspiring others into action, comfortable making autonomous decisions, and curious about exploring new ways of working.

This is an exciting time to join the Student Development team as we overhaul our approaches to volunteer management across the Union to ensure that volunteering remains attractive to students already balancing commitments including their studies and paid work. This is an exciting time to join us at the Medical Research Foundation, where we have recently launched our new five-year strategy.  We are looking for an Operations and Office Manager to help us achieve our mission to drive the life-changing advances of tomorrow, by laying the foundations for ground-breaking new discoveries today.  Reporting to the Director of Governance and Operations, you will play a crucial role in the delivery of our operations and office management, and in our delivery of our environmental sustainability strategic objectives.   

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Designing and implementing policies and practices which put environmental sustainability at the forefront of our business operations; championing environmental sustainability practices across the organisation
• Identifying and delivering business-wide operations efficiencies by refining existing, and establishing new, business policies and processes
• Overseeing the day-to-day management of the office ensuring it is an efficient, safe and pleasant working environment for staff and visitors; liaising with the building management company and the IT service provider; troubleshooting or escalating IT and building-related issues as they arise
• Managing external service provider contracts, including procuring and negotiating new contracts where required
• Ensuring a first-class customer service experience for those contacting the charity
• Line management of two members of staff.

We would like to hear from you if you:

• Have a commitment to OR experience in developing environmental sustainability practices
• Have significant experience working within an operations role OR an office/facilities management position
• Have experience in identifying and implementing business improvements through contributing to the development of policies and procedures
• Are able to build and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers and other key stakeholders
• Have experience of training, motivating and managing people
• Have a sufficient understanding of IT matters and terminology (as a user) so that you can effectively liaise between users and the IT service provider
• Have an eye for spotting potential issues and taking action where needed, within the office environment
• Are solutions-focused and target-orientated, with the ability to see the bigger picture
• Are able to think and plan strategically, combined with a keen eye for detail
• Are confident in bringing appropriate challenge to behaviours and established practices
• Able to bring a sense of ownership to ensuring the office is well maintained and an enjoyable work environment

We will offer you

We will offer a salary of £45,000 - £48,000 for a full-time 36-hour week and double-matched pension contributions up to 10% max employer contribution.  We offer 30 days of annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata) per year, excellent financial, health and social benefits and an opportunity to join a dedicated team making a difference to human health. 

We value spending time working in-person to develop strong connections with each other and with our mission.  As the role will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of our office in Central London, it will be suited to somebody looking for a position that is predominantly office-based, although there will be opportunities for remote working.

You will provide administrative support to specific projects and core work within the directorate, as well as delivering front line services to CSP members and key stakeholders.
