About the role

We have a unique and exciting opportunity for someone interested in gaining first-hand experience working on the frontlines of a fast-paced, guest-facing charity.
Sufra has always been #MoreThanAFoodbank, and this role is key to Sufra’s journey in trialling different methods of supporting residents. We are partnering with SALIENT, a team of researchers who are working with the public, partners from local and national government, food charities, community support teams, and the food industry on a range of food-related trials. In particular, they will be conducting a trial at Sufra where a range of different support is offered to Food Bank guests. The aim of the trial is to assess the impact of these different methods, and hopefully come closer to learning what support our guests prefer to receive from our food bank service.
The ideal candidate will work well in a busy environment and will have great people skills. They will have some experience in a customer-facing role, dealing with the public and potentially vulnerable individuals. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for members that register with the pilot project and will be confident answering queries confidently speaking about the trial. The candidate will work closely with the Food Aid Manager and SALIENT researchers to ensure accurate data tracking once participants are registered, including collating receipts, supporting with feedback interviews, capturing case studies and logging visits. The role will also include supporting the distribution of both parcels and vouchers and ensuring meticulous financial records of this are kept.
People skills are crucial to success in this role, as the successful candidate will be working alongside a range of people, ensuring that they are supported throughout the trial. Due to the diverse nature of Sufra guests, it would be beneficial for this candidate to speak Arabic, Somali, Farsi, or another community language.

Role Description
Supporting the smooth running of the SALIENT Food Trial, conducted at Sufra NW London. Supporting across the trial, focussing on participant recruitment, distributing different support methods and maintaining data throughout the trial. We hope to have this candidate in place by mid-August.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Guest Recruitment
• Sharing information about the research trial
• Leading the recruitment of the trial, checking guest eligibility and contacting Sufra Food Bank guests and clearly communicating the trial in a non-biased and informative manner.
• Answering queries and concerns from Sufra guests and current participants and obtain consent to share data with researchers.
• Anonymising data sets for sharing with researchers.
• Creating awareness of the study amongst Sufra Foodbank volunteers through briefings, sharing links to the study video and information sheets so they are informed of how the study will operate.
Pilot data collection and tracking
• Work alongside SALIENT researchers to maintain a dataset to track participation in research.
• Distributing different methods of support for participants, during usual Food Bank collection hours.
• Implementing financial tracking of transactions made, and ensuring all financial monitoring is up to date and accurate.
• Exploring methods to reengage and support participants with low attendance.
Other Duties
• Joining staff meetings once a month and updating the wider team on the progress of the trial.
• Ensuring that our health and safety protocols and policies and procedures are adhered to.
• Ensuring that the service reflects the ethos, values and core principles of the charity and oversee the project’s development, so it is continuously and sustainably meeting community needs as they evolve.
• Attending regular supervisions with your line manager and staff meetings with the wider team.

The Internet of Production (60%) and the Global Innovation Gathering (40%) are looking for an experienced grant fundraiser and writer to help us with applications and build and grow our work.
We are two small, international charities with huge networks, scope and ambition. We have a track record of collaboration on brilliant projects that bring together ideas, innovations and innovators.
The Internet of Production is a UK charity that brings together a global alliance dedicated to building a future of decentralised and distributed manufacturing. We seek to enable a sustainable and globally networked system of production; to complement mass production and global supply chains with ‘production by the masses’ and local enterprise.
The Global Innovation Gathering is German non-profit association that brings together a vibrant, diverse community of innovation hubs, makerspaces, hackerspaces and other grassroots innovation communities with individual innovators, makers, technologists and changemakers.
The Grant Fundraiser will be employed by the Internet of Production and part-funded by the Global Innovation Gathering.
Grants will usually be £50k to £500k, and larger grants will also be sought in consortia with existing partners in the Internet of Production Alliance and the Global Innovation Gathering. Our funding proposals are usually focused on creating opportunities for others in our networks – whilst maintaining the core of our organisations.

Role & Responsibilities:
- Write and submit grant applications, including narratives and any additional materials (such as detailed budgets, budget justifications, workplaces, monitoring and evaluation plans, logical frameworks, pitch decks, etc).
- Work closely with the CEOs of the Internet of Production and the Global Innovation Gathering (also successful grant writers) and with inspiring networks of visionary experts to design exciting, effective and fundable concepts and projects for grant applications.
- Plan appropriately to best fulfil a pipeline of grant opportunities, where some opportunities may be very short notice and some may require months of co-authoring.
- Assist with seeking out and prioritising potential grant opportunities from around the world.
- Develop a master bid document or other grant application tools and manage and maintain grant application files and folders etc for each organisation.
Person Specification:
- Extensive experience in roles that included significant grant writing.
- Experience of Horizon Europe grants, research funding or other large consortia grants.
- Exceptionally effective and clear writing style, with excellent English, including when under time pressure. Ability to speak German could be helpful but is not required.
- Understanding or appreciation of issues/sectors including poverty, resilience, climate change, economic development, digitalisation, localisation, environmental sustainability and ‘green’ initiatives, etc, would be very helpful.
- Understanding or appreciation of innovative approaches and technologies, particularly those relating to grass-roots community building, experimentation, co-creation, open-source, networks, Internet, making/manufacturing, creativity, etc.

Role Purpose
To support the development of high quality, trustworthy, current and effective information resources for the lupus community. This role plays an important part in our work to empower people living with lupus and supporting families and carers impacted by a diagnosis of lupus.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery
- Help to review, update and co-develop health information content for the lupus community in line with our schedule, maintaining a high standard of evidence-based information production, following appropriate criteria for accreditation by professional organisations. This could include support with research, liaising with external experts for input and review, copy writing, proof reading and production (including design).
- Work with colleagues, healthcare professionals and people with lived experience of lupus to codevelop high quality information resources.
- Communicate health-related updates, such as website articles on changes to access to vaccinations.
- Respond to emailed queries related to lupus and related conditions, health system access, treatments, etc.
- Support with co-ordinating the production of the charity’s magazine 3 times a year.

The Role
The Events Officer plays a key role, working closely with the Member Events and Partnerships Manager, membership team and members.
The Events and Training Officer is crucial in delivery of the member offer and strategy, with responsibility for the ongoing support and delivery of building capacity and capability through:

We’re looking for a creative, dynamic and enthusiastic comms professional to join us on our mission to ensure no child or young person ever has to grieve alone. As our Brand & Marketing Manager you will be at the forefront of growing and developing the Winston’s Wish brands and find new and innovative ways to reach the children and young people who need us. This is a varied and fast-paced role where no two days will be the same.
From sharing the voices of our incredible Youth Ambassadors far and wide, to marketing fantastic fundraising initiatives to identifying new opportunities to reach young people, you’ll play a fundamental role in ensuring bereaved children and young people know they can put their trust in Winston’s Wish when their worlds are turned upside down by grief.
Main Responsibilities
- Marketing outreach and project management
- Work alongside the Director of Marketing & Communications to action the charity’s strategic marketing plan.
- Lead a team of marketeers in planning, delivering and measuring effective projects to drive revenue and reach across multiple areas of the company.
- End to end management of comms plans to ensure projects are delivered to a high standard using data and analysis to refine and develop plans in order to reach targets.

About the Organisation
Together We Learn is a small international development charity with a vision to break the cycle of poverty in Ethiopia by enabling disadvantaged children to access quality education.
We have been working closely with our Ethiopian partner organisation for over 25 years to achieve this. Our UK team is a small, close- knit team that supports the fundraising, international communications, and project delivery of the Ethiopian team.
Our approach is to work alongside state education infrastructure, addressing a range of needs related to access to and quality of education, as well as children’s wellbeing.
Our work with schools includes school infrastructure projects - providing safe, local schools - and supporting teachers with training and resources to inspire children to flourish in the classroom. We also work closely with the children, their families and communities to understand and address the issues they face at home and how these impact their ability to attend and concentrate in school.
We are at the start of a new strategic phase with a focus on building the capacity of our Ethiopian partner organisation to shift the power and be more locally-led in our work.
We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with a connection to Ethiopia, or from the African diaspora.
Project Coordinator
The Role: The Project Coordinator supports our Ethiopian Projects team deliver, monitor, evaluate and report on our various project activities. The role involves regular communication with both our regional project teams and management, supporting the team to meet project deadlines, driving continual programme improvement through monitoring, evaluation and learning, and supporting the UK Chief Executive with project reporting and funding proposals.
Reports to: Chief Executive
Hours: 15 hours per week (part-time role 40%)
Salary: £8,620 per annum (21,550 pro rata)
Location: London office, preference for hybrid working, remote applications considered, employee must be living in the UK.
