The role
NEA has an exciting opportunity for a Training and Education Officer to support with the delivery of our accredited training and qualifications to stakeholders across the United Kingdom as well as develop and deliver our expanding education programme nationwide.
You will work across both the training and education teams to develop and deliver training courses and education workshops to frontline workers, volunteers and young people from a wide range of organisations, including local authorities, housing associations, voluntary and community groups, and commercial organisations.
Our training courses and workshops cover key issues associated with fuel poverty, fuel debt, affordable warmth, low-carbon technologies and practical energy efficiency advice. You will work alongside the training team to develop, design and deliver these engaging online and face-to-face courses and qualifications. You will act as an examiner for all NEA qualifications, assist in the development of future assessment-based qualifications; and have the ability to identify new opportunities for training and assessment product development.
You will work closely with the existing education team to enhance the current education provision of the charity; you will develop and deliver education sessions in line with programme and funding needs. Delivery will include both Primary and Secondary school sessions as well as bespoke education sessions for care leavers, young carers, youth offenders and children soon to be attending university or college.

What you will need to succeed
You will possess a relevant training or education qualification and have recent, demonstrable experience in delivering adult training and or primary / secondary school sessions. Ideally, you will also bring experience in one or more of the following fields: energy, community development, debt or money advice, consumer issues, or housing.
With excellent communication skills and IT skills, you will be adaptable and bring a lot of energy to the team. You’ll be brimming with ideas and enthusiasm and have a passion to deliver training and education to people from diverse backgrounds and the desire to make a positive difference to people’s lives.
You will be expected to deliver training and education sessions depending on organisational need, as well as occasionally delivery in wider England and Wales. This will require overnight stays and flexibility on the part of the post holder.
The role of Training and Education Officer will be part of the Development and Partnerships Directorate and the postholder will report to NEA’s Training Programme Delivery Manager.

- £31,068 - £35,836 (Points 18 -25) (plus £3,300 London Weighting if applicable). New appointments are usually made at the starting point of the scale.

As an Evaluation and Learning Manager you will lead on ensuring that rigorous evidence is systematically used to drive impact for people living in Lambeth and Southwark and to advance the emerging field of urban health. To achieve these aims, we provide expertise, set standards and lead the design and development of approaches to be increasingly rigorous and consistent, whilst pragmatic. - Lead on providing technical evaluation and learning advice and support to Programme Colleagues and our funded partners for the Health Effects of Air Pollution and Children’s Health and Food programmes, with guidance from the Head of Programme Evaluation.
- Ensure evaluation and learning activity within programmes meets the strategic objectives of each programme, and is high-quality, equitable and inclusive.
- Work closely with programme and influencing colleagues to ensure that evaluation and learning approaches within each programmeare designed with our internal and external evidence needs in mind, so that insights are useful for both internal decision making and external influencing.

The merger of Fight for Sight and Vision Foundation on 1st April 2023 has enabled us to address both questions. By combining our strengths and expertise we are now the only significant national funder with the efficiency, capability, and capacity to increase investment in medical research and social improvement. Role Responsibilities:
Individual Giving
- Support the Individual Giving Manager with day-to-day communications with our donor base, including timely database administration to capture communication preferences and personal details.
- Support the Database Manager with data and financial processes, including recording and batching donations, generating reports, contributing to supporter journeys and reconciling income.
- Undertake research into new projects and areas of fundraising and highlight areas of potential opportunities to raise income and ensure continuous supporter engagement.
- Liaise with design and print suppliers to deliver appeals and other campaigns.
- Support the Individual Giving team in-person in the office, with the processing of direct marketing appeal responses, including banking of donations and sending thank you letters.
- Work with the Individual Giving Managers to implement supporter journeys to encourage further support to the organisation.
Events and Community
- Use a CRM database to effectively administer and manage event and community activities.
- To be an ambassador at all events, supporting the delivery of our vision and ensuring that the charity’s profile and reputation are enhanced.
- Work with the Events and Community team to send out literature and parcels to community groups and event participants in an efficient and timely manner.
- Researching and sourcing event materials and fulfilling event packs when required.
- Support with logistics for virtual and in-person events as required.
Wider fundraising
- Answering inbound calls as part of the head office call team, at least two days per week, and responding to or triaging enquiries to be resolved in a timely manner.
- Working with suppliers to help design, proof and order new and replacement fundraising materials (fundraising packs, t-shirts, collecting boxes etc) as necessary.
- Act as the first point of contact for external enquiries and manage internal post, including sorting incoming post and organising outgoing fundraising post from head office.
- Work with the Communications team to ensure social media posts and other promotion opportunities are carefully planned and well executed.
- Work alongside the high value team Partnerships Assistant on key events and appeal tasks when required.
- Provide general administration support across the fundraising team as required.

Are you an experienced Angular developer who would like to join with other Christians in Tearfund's work with local churches around the world tackling poverty?
This role within a team of 13 developers will allow you to use your strong technical experience to serve people living in poverty in more than 50 countries around the world through providing effective applications for the design, monitoring & evaluation of our front-line projects and for our finance staff.
This is a key time for the team as we start the migration of our project design, monitoring & evaluation application to Angular. In this post you will work alongside our other Angular developers, sharing their expertise and building an application which will enable our staff and local church partners around the world to demonstrate the amazing impact of our work in the communities we work with.
The team is also crucial to our finance staff, being responsible for the development and support of an Angular application which is critical for finance data entry across the countries we work in. We are keen to leverage AI to increase productivity in this area so experience in working with AI technologies, or an interest in learning, would be an advantage.
Although not essential, experience of Power BI would also be useful as we extend our reporting suite, using our SQL Server data warehouse to demonstrate the impact of our work and provide vital financial information to staff across Tearfund. Thanks to our MS Azure integrations, our data warehouse contains combines data from multiple applications and our developers are key in bringing that data to life in ways that can help users across the organisations make data-led business decisions.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:
This exciting role will lead on developing designs and work plans suitable for planning permission and an application for delivery phase funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund. Responsibilities include;
- Subcontractor coordination: Lead in the onboarding and management of a Landscape Architect to develop existing condition surveys and recommendations to RIBA Stage 3, ensuring that accessibility is considered throughout.
- Oversight of trials and structural surveys: Ensure low carbon mortar trials, asbestos investigation, gunnite removal tests, and hydrology investigations can be completed by contractors.
- Management of Environmental Impact Assessments: To understand risks to existing habitats and ecosystem services, and develop a baseline understanding of species.
- Renewable Energy Initiatives: Ensure that Landscape Architects work alongside the appointed Community Energy Organisation to integrate renewable energy solutions into final designs.
- Public Consultations: Support in the preparation, delivery, and analysis of public consultations.
- Planning Permission & Compliance: Oversee the preparation and submission of planning permission documents, including those related to energy infrastructure, Listed Building Consent, and new signage installations.
- Documentation: Contribute to quarterly reporting, and ensure detailed method statements, project briefs, risk assessments and other documents required by the National Lottery Heritage Fund are developed.

This is a pivotal new role, offering huge potential to shape the future of IG at PCR and capitalise fully on our exciting growth trajectory.
The last 12 months have seen significant transformation within our IG fundraising, with our regular giving base more than trebling. Building on this momentum, and campaigns such as last year's successful prostate cancer screening petition and our increased campaigning and public relations footprint. The role will primarily support our work to expand and enhance community justice for women. This means working in partnership with statutory partners such as police, probation, the judiciary and court staff, as well as 3rd sector organisations including women’s centres to support evidence-led practice.
The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting our women’s problem-solving court network. This will involve (i) identifying and convening practitioners and others who are interested in women’s problem-solving approaches; (ii) facilitating and delivering training and practice sharing workshops; and (iii) developing briefings and toolkits that support the spread of good practice.
Problem-solving courts are specialist courts that focus on addressing the underlying issues and problems that drive offending behaviour. They specialise in a specific set of issues or around a specific target group, such as women with multiple unmet needs. They operate with multi-agency teams to provide tailored interventions and supervision, combining this with judicial monitoring, where individuals regularly appear before the same judge to review their progress.
The Practice Officer will also support us to expand our reach in Out Of Court Resolutions (OOCRs) and pre-court diversion, working directly with police and other agencies to develop or improve their gender-responsive diversion schemes.

You’ll use your excellent comms skills to design and deliver media strategies that achieve cut-through in crowded media spaces, raise our profile and brand awareness, and support campaigns that deliver wins critical to building a fair, zero-carbon future.
As part of this role, you will bring to life our work as an environmental justice organisation and ensure that the voices of those most at risk and already hardest hit by the climate and nature crises, both in the UK and overseas, are at the centre of our media and comms stories.
Key Skills:
- Extensive experience pitching and placing impactful stories across mainstream UK broadcast, online and print media.
- Proven relationships with journalists, editors, producers and broadcasters at national, regional and specialist climate and environmental outlets.
- Ability to work well under pressure, meet tight deadlines and respond quickly to reactive opportunities.
- In-depth knowledge of the UK media landscape and emerging comms trends.
- Extensive experience delivering successful news and PR strategies.
- Excellent writing skills with demonstrable ability to write for different audiences.
- Experience managing crisis comms and reputational risk.
Key Attributes:
The successful candidate will have;
- Ability to work as part of cross-organisational teams to deliver impactful campaigns and integrated multi-channel comms moments.
- Proven ability to own and lead on key strands of press work and take decisions on the most suitable media approaches for delivering maximum impact.
- Proven ability to write media materials like reactive quotes, opinion pieces and longer form articles for publication to a high standard, for a variety of audiences and media outlets.
- Sound news judgement and an eye for a good story.
- Understanding of ethical story-gathering principles when working with spokespeople with lived experience and/or storytellers.
- Experience of working with volunteers and/or community groups, ideally supporting them to achieve media coverage or tell stories.

The media team is small but mighty. We have some exciting and ambitious team objectives to deliver that look at how Friends of the Earth is turning up in the media, alongside continuing to achieve impressive levels of coverage of Friends of the Earth’s work. Together, we will work to deliver the campaign wins that are critical to building a safer, fairer future, harnessing the power of stories from the frontlines of the climate crisis to change hearts and minds alongside the voices of our talented and growing pool of spokespeople.
